The extraterrestrial, or today, paranormal comedy podcast where we finish off probing the worlds most famous pirate, Blackbeard (who isn't an alien, but may be a ghost). Was Blackbeards life sufficient that his spirit, his ghost, was left behind? Or was it his passing that would both make Blackbeard a legend and leave behind unfinished business? Before we get there, we cover what happened to Blackbeard and Gentleman Pirate Steve Bonnet's pirate partnership. Would it end in plunder or peril? As we get towards the end of this pirates tale, we discover whether Blackbeard would ever give up his pirates life and accept the Kings Pardon. Could a man like Blackbeard really settle down, marry and live the family life? Never trust a pirate! What would the governors do if Blackbeard didn't settle down? Or even if he did. The governor of Virginia, Alexander Spotswood, was desperate for his man and breaking a little law here and there was just a price that would have to be paid. There's a battle coming. When the time finally did come, what were Blackbeards real last words? This one has been a deep, deep investigation. All that and more on this week's file. OH CROW'S COCK! May we just add, Sea of Thieves is available for FREE on Game Pass (though Kev brought the game day one). With a group of friends this game can give you as much fun as anything made in years, it is truly a joy. There are rumours that Greybeard can be found sailing the seas after one too many rums and will tuck, unbeknownst to other crews, before breaking out in to song during the tensest moments. Additional music via: https://freepd.com - thank you most kindly good people. Again, we utilised some Sea of Thieves music in this one, composed by Robin Beanland with the game courtesy of Rare and Microsoft. Themes included ‘Becalmed' (which has to be played when you sink your ship - them's the rules), 'Summon the Megalodon' and ‘Maiden Voyage.' As stated in this episode, this truly is Kev's favourite current game and probably in his top 3 of all time (jumbled alongside Super Metroid and Zelda's Breath of the Wild and A Link to the Past - Kev pleads with you not to make him pick only 3). Kev adores Rare and sincerely hopes that they don't mind the little snippets. There was also a tiny midi snippet from the Righteous Brothers' Unchained Melody. This was a midi as we say, just as we discussed the movie but the original song deserves a shout out for helping many a pottery session turn sexual. Finally, there was a midi snippet of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme called He's a Pirate, which as we said in the first Blackbeard episode was composed in 2003 by Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer (though this was just a midi). Thank you to all for entertaining us and for our audience, please check all these franchises out if you haven't. Savvy? The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe a pirate legend from the Golden Age of Piracy, Blackbeard. Whilst we usually cover aliens, Kev stages an intervention in this episode to try to turn Granville's souring, skeptical mood by regaling Mr Moonwalker with an actual true tale. A pirates life, if you will? Blackbeard, may have started his life as Edward Thatch before that surname was misspelt as Teach in a Newspaper, later becoming the most popular spelling of this pirates allegedly true name. Blackbeard, is believed to have begun his venture towards the pirate haven of Nassau, New Providence in the Bahamas with Benjamin Hornigold, forming the Pirates Republic before Gentleman Pirate Steve Bonnet, whom Moonwalker suspects he may be related to, landed in the lap of Blackbeard. We cover the pirate life of Blackbeard in detail as Blackbeard sets out to become legend. What were Blackbeard's most daring deeds? Did Blackbeard stick matches in his hair and if so, did his head burn? We also debate pirate names, which by the way are difficult to come up with ‘on the spot' - is Probe McButt-Smash even a pirates name? What about Captain Prick? Anyway… Was Blackbeard as fearsome as the legends make out? Were Blackbeard and/or his crew carrying sexually transmitted diseases and would this inspire Blackbeard to commit his most notorious and dastardly act? Do we even get to Teach's, or Blackbeards Hole today? All that and more on this week's file. Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/butitwasaliens Store: https://butitwasaliens.co.uk/shop/ Probe us: Email: butitwasaliens@gmail.com Instagram @ ButItWasAliensPodcast Twitter @ ButItWasAliens Facebook: @ ButItWasAliens - join Extraterrestrial Towers Music: Music created via Garageband. Additional music via: https://freepd.com - thank you most kindly good people. Kev's favourite modern game is Sea Of Thieves (is BOTW modern?) so of course we also had to include some music from this wonderful, joyous game. Thank you Rare - Kev considers becoming a year one Pirate Legend among his greatest achievements in life. The themes we used included ‘Maiden Voyage' and ‘Shipwrecks' - this music is courtesy of Microsoft and they will probably make us take this down but we really wanted to include some pirate easter eggs and bring some attention to this amazing game at the same time. Special mention to Robin Beanland whom composed the game music and whom also had a hand in Donkey Kong Country and Conker's Bad Fur Day back in the day; another two games around Kev's personal top 10. “I, am, the Great Mighty Poo…” Of course, we had to include the theme tune to Pirates of the Caribbean too, entitled ‘He's a Pirate' which was composed in 2003 by Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer for Disney. Again, if Microsoft don't have our butts and make us remove this, Disney certainly will but it simply felt wrong to do an episode on pirates without the famous pirate theme. Go and watch the films, savvy? Main source: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/last-days-blackbeard-180949440/

This week, John and Amy return to the films of actress Keira Knightley with the 2003 blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"! They're joined by returning guest Christina (aka "Lady Triple") for a discussion that ranges from talking about the characters, the witty dialogue and composer Klaus Badelt's classic musical score to the effect the film (and the trilogy) had on us and the film industry at large. But that's not all! Our discussion hit a few snags along the way, as we get sidetracked and have some wonderfully chaotic discussions about Disney, the Game of Thrones fan convention "Con of Thrones", and our shared unpopular opinions about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and how Pirates of the Caribbean compares)! Today on Too Opinionated, talented composer Kevin Besignano! Kevin Besignano has been known in the music world for the last 2 decades as a touring musician and musical artist. He’s toured the world playing in bands such as Unwritten Law, Bullets and Octane and his own band, True Rivals. While his roots may be rock and roll, his undying love for the art of music travels so much deeper than that. Having attended Berklee College of Music, Besignano has always been intrigued by jazz, classical, composing and the varying sounds that great the universal love language that is music. In 2011 he opted to stop touring professionally and focus on his dream to become a film and television composer. After an apprenticeship with Mark Yaeger (who learned at the tutelage of the infamous Klaus Badelt), Kevin began to work on short films, commercials, and cues for brands such as Benefit Cosmetics, DJI, JBL, etc. In 2019 he was offered the opportunity of a lifetime when his close friends, Annika Marks and Rich Newey, agreed to bring him on as the Composer to their labor of love – the feature film, Killing Eleanor. Marks and Newey wrote the film, Newey directed it and Marks stars as the lead protagonist – Natalie. The film is a right to die film based out of the Chicago area and stars true staples within the industry: Jenny O’Hara (as the titled character, Eleanor), Betsy Brandt, Jane Kaczmarek, Camryn Manheim, David Eigenberg and Thomas Sadowski. Kevin worked closely with the filmmakers to find the right tone for such an important and beautiful film, not only writing and creating original music but learning to play the cello for a heart-tugging piece that plays over the movies most important scene. The film recently celebrated their first win (Best Narrative) at the Savannah Film Festival where it premiered. It will be available to be seen November 5th – 22nd at the St. Louis International Film Festival. Besignano continues to build his resume and is currently working on a web series (where he is also the Sound Editor), among other yet to be announced projects. Originally from Staten Island, NY/New Jersey, Kevin currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter. Want to Watch? YouTube: Meisterkhan Pod

The supernatural curse plot probably helped the box office with the shots of the skeleton pirates in the trailer. Johnny Depp became a superstar with his Oscar nominated Captain Jack Sparrow performance. And its the best film based on a theme park ride. The Crew discusses... Would you be surprised to learn there are seven Disney movies based on theme park attractions? En este episodio no encontramos un tema del cual dar opinión, así que realizamos una dinámica sobre nuestras "aventuras" en este fin de semana con puente. y otra dinámica improvisada de paradojas. Música Original: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - He's a Pirate por Klaus Badelt y Hans Zimmer Transcrita, arreglada y producida por Micha? "FalKKonE" Soko?owski.
Double sword penetration from behind? Yeah, Elizabeth Swann has become quite the pirate and sword master! Join us for this latest episode as we slice and dice the most emblematic swashbuckler minutes 116 and 117 of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. In this show we discuss the music of Hans Zimmer – specifically “Heart Madness” from the complete motion picture score that incorporates Klaus Badelt’s “He’s a Pirate” and the famously recognizable thriller composition by Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor BWV 565” that has appeared in movies spanning Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Phantom of the Opera, and Disney films 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Fantasia. Conversation continues with motion sickness cinematography, brass knuckles (knuckledusters) and the link to Abraham Lincoln, the incredible coconut throw referencing The Bishop’s Wife, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Elf, Hadras losing his head (actors Reggie Lee and Ho-Kwan Tse), the heart of Davy Jones, Calypso/Tia Dalma, more movie tropes and clichés, and what’s in store for The Black Pearl Show Season 3. Composer Mark Yaeger has composed original music, written songs, played solo instruments, and produced the score on over 30 Hollywood and independent films. Additionally, he is a long-time composer collaborator with Klaus Badelt. Just a couple of those collaborative efforts include feature films such as QUEEN OF THE DESERT and SHANGHAIL CALLING, while his work for television can be heard in the 2014 series HALO: NIGHTFALL. FAR CRY 5 - INSIDE EDEN'S GATE is one of Yaeger's most recent projects. Released on March 5, 2018 -and is a short-film released directly to Amazon Prime Video. The short was designed as back-story to the video game FAR CRY 5 which released a few weeks after on March 27, 2018. When rumors of a fanatical cult in Hope County, Montana begin to swirl, three vloggers take it upon themselves to investigate what's really going on. As they track down missing locals and probe into other strange events, they eventually encounter Joseph Seed, the leader of The Project of Eden's Gate cult and the man behind all the unusual activities in Hope County. In this episode of The Annotator, Mark Yaeger talks about writing an original score for the short-film that would paint the antagonist of the video game, FAR CRY 5, in a different light. He elaborates on his choice of instrumentation and stylistic choices to emphasize emotion over darker elements that would thoroughly be covered musically in the game that would follow.ANNOTATED TRACKS02:02 - Seed03:35 - Bliss08:10 - Enchantment Ostinato08:49 - RevivalSOUNDTRACKThe original score can be found on Amazon.com, itunes or streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.MORE ABOUT THE COMPOSERYou can also hear more music and find out more about Mark Yaeger at his official site (https://www.markyaeger.com/) or follow the composer on twitter @markyaegerABOUT THE ANNOTATORProduced by Christopher Coleman (@ccoleman) and you can Find more episodes at THEANNOTATOR.NET or you can subscribe via iTunes, Stitcher Radio or wherever you find quality podcasts.FOLLOW USTwitter @audioannotatorFacebook @TheAnnotatorEmail theannotatorpodcast@gmail.comSUBSCRIBEiTunesSpotifyStitcher RadioGoogle Play PodcastsRSS Feed

Score: The Podcast welcomes Ramin Djawadi, award-winning composer of Game of Thrones, Westworld, Prison Break, Person of Interest, Amazon's upcoming Jack Ryan series, Iron Man, Pacific Rim and A Wrinkle In Time. Robert and Kenny begin the show discussing AmperMusic.com and the new "computer learned" composing tools Silicon Valley is funding, as well as the retro 80s-inspired soundtrack of Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One. Ramin talks about the boom of interest in film scores and specifically his international Game of Thrones tour and its many spectacles accompanying the orchestral performances. Kenny and Robert ask Ramin about whether he gets special access to top-secret storylines in Game of Thrones, and how he tips off audiences to what may or may not happen next through the type of music he uses in the show. Ramin talks about meeting Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt and their invitation to him to join Remote Control Productions in Santa Monica. Score: The Podcast debuts "The Inside Track," a new music psychology segment featuring Dr. Siu-Lan Tan, a leading researcher into the effects of film music on audiences. In this first edition, Dr. Tan examines the use of music to signal "the end" of a scene or of a film, and how a composer can create audience satisfaction with examples of The Matrix, Inception and more. Then they jump into Westworld (returning Sunday, April 22) and discover how his musical expertise informs other creative aspects of the show, including the opening theme and the player piano. Lastly, Ramin joins the guys to play a Hans Zimmer-themed edition of the game “Name That Score,” where you — yes, you — can be a winner! Cinematic Sound Radio - Soundtracks, Film, TV and Video Game Music
On this week’s episode of CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO, I will be celebrating the 21st anniversary of the program. With each anniversary program, I try to present a topic or theme that I haven’t explored in the past. With that in mind, I thought it might be interesting to present for you a few of my personal custom film music suites that I like to edit together in my spare time. I don’t create suites for every score in my collection but I have roughly 75-80 specially edited suites, which combine multiple cues into one easy to digested track that ranges from roughly 4 minutes in length to as long as 10 minutes. It’s a fun exercise and I hope you enjoy listening to my creations as much as I do. On today’s program you are going to hear 12 of those suites, which features music from THE AVENGERS by Joel McNeely, THE PROMISE by Klaus Badelt, BATMAN FOREVER by Elliot Goldenthal, PAYCHECK by John Powell, THE THREE MUSKETEERS by Michael Kamen, PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF by Christophe Beck, PETER PAN by James Newton Howard, THE ROCKETEER by James Horner, GODZILLA by David Arnold, SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW by Edward Shearmur, THE KARATE KID PART I AND II by Bill Conti and WARRIORS OF VIRTUE by Don Davis. Also, stay tuned for a BONUS TRACK at the end of the program! [Watch the video interview on our YouTube Channel] On this All Access, we sit down with the wonderfully talented Matthew Margeson. We discuss Matthew's background and how a series of events including his love for musical theater led him to pursue music as a career. After college he finally made the leap to become a film composer by moving to Los Angeles with nothing but $500 in his pocket. Hear Matthew talk about his early days of being an assistant to Klaus Badelt and doing additional music for composers like James Dooley and Henry Jackman. Hear about all the mistakes he made on Skyline, one of his big first solo credits, and how he learned from those mistakes. Matthew talks about all the fundamentals he learned in his early days that he then applied to his own work as a composer whether it was on solo projects like Eddie The Eagle or co-composed projects like Kick-Ass 2, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and the Kingsman films. We discuss working with different directors such as Matthew Vaughn and Tim Burton, and how each director works with composers. We also delve into Matthew's process as he shares how he approaches projects from the start. Whether it's scoring a wacky TV comedy like Wrecked, following in Hans Zimmer's footsteps for Rings, or arranging Stephen Sondheim's classic music for Disney's adaptation of Into The Woods, we cover it all. Matthew has accomplished some amazing feats very early on in his career and it was a great pleasure to have him as a guest on this All Access! [Watch the video interview on our YouTube Channel] On this episode of All Access we are incredibly honored to be welcoming Klaus Badelt. Klaus quickly rose to prominence while working under great composers such as Hans Zimmer and Michael Kamen. Hear Klaus share what led him to pursue film music as a career, and stories from some of his most beloved scores. We dive into such scores as Ned Kelly, The Time Machine, Beat The Drum, Invincible, The Pledge, Rescue Dawn and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Klaus shares details about the hectic journey of working on the first Pirates Of The Caribbean, what Werner Herzog is like as a director, living in China to compose The Promise and the 2008 Olympics Closing Ceremony, the bizarre experience of working on Basic with John McTiernan, and the approach he took on his newest score to The Warrior’s Gate. Klaus has built an amazing career and has always continually pursued new opportunities that appealed to him, from composing for French cinema to starting his own tech company with Kinonation. Klaus' current focus is with his company Kinonation where he is solving the issue of worldwide distribution by letting content makers keep ownership of their content while getting it front of a wide audience via top streaming companies such as Amazon, Hulu and Netflix for no cost. We hope you enjoy this fantastic discussion with the kind, passionate and talented Klaus Badelt. Interview Produced & Presented By: Kaya Savas Special Thanks: Klaus Badelt
