We break down Supercell's new twin-stick “boat game” (second alpha): a PvE → PvPvE loop where we farm island quests, haul up to three chests on a fast boat, and can flip a “go bad” switch to steal other players' chests - triggering bounties and protections for non-PK players (revenge respawns). What worksFast, readable boating and clear risk/reward moments when we carry 2–3 chests.A theft moment (“go bad”) that can create highlight-reel clips for UA if tuned right. What doesn't (yet)Flat progression (gear score + light passives/chips) limits long-term goals.Ultra-light economy and shaky matchmaking make the loop feel aimless/punishing.Audience fit feels unclear (Gen-Z, Fortnite-lite vibe vs. strategy/4X loyalists).Market lensSupercell's portfolio still leans on legacy hits; competitors with genre focus + aggressive UA (e.g., strategy/4X) scale more reliably.Without deeper economies, UA-product co-design, and a clearer genre thesis, this boat may never scale past alpha.Key takeawayDepth beats novelty. He just completed post on his horror film “Succubus,” starring Ron Perlman and Rosanna Arquette, to be released in 2024. Crossing over 500 screens in the U.S. and beginning its run in the U.K. is his feature “Hard Miles,” starring Golden Globe-winner Matthew Modine and Oscar-Nominee Sean Astin, which has won multiple awards and screened at prestigious festivals including Chicago International, Heartland Film Festival, and Cinequest. Prior to that, Daniel directed the true-story feature “Miss Virginia,” starring three-time Emmy-winner Uzo Aduba, Oscar-Nominee Aunjanue Ellis, and Vanessa Williams. The film was listed as a New York Times and USA Today Must-See Fall Movie, won the Audience Award at The Naples Film Festival, and received a limited theatrical release, cable premiere on BET, and streaming deal with Netflix. As a writer, Daniel is a winner of The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, as well as the Slamdance, ScriptPipeline, and Screencraft writing awards. He also explores storytelling as an editor, with ten features under his belt, including horror film “What Lies Below,” starring Mena Suvari, which hit #1 on Netflix, and “Supercell” starring Alec Baldwin, Anne Heche, and Skeet Ulrich, which hit #1 on Hulu. Mike Rowe talks about not being the “dirty jobs” Mike Rowe, planning for the future, being funny in high school, becoming an electrical engineer and giving it up for comedy, performing in NY comedy clubs, Alan Zweibel moving him to LA, roasts, jokes, his book “It's a Funny Thing”, Rodney Dangerfield giving him hope, comedy cliques, and why he's moving to Connecticut.  Bio: Michael Rowe is an Emmy Award-winning writer and producer who has worked on many highly regarded comedy and animated shows on television. While still a teenager, Michael began his comedy career as a stand-up comic at such notable New York City clubs as The Improv, The Comedy Cellar and Caroline's. From there, he landed a job writing jokes for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Weekend Update, as well as sketches for shows on MTV, A&E and Comedy Central. Hollywood called, bringing Michael out west to work with Martin Short on his syndicated sketch-comedy show. This soon led to opportunities as a sitcom writer/producer on shows starring George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Ted Danson, and with Eddie Murphy on his groundbreaking animated series, THE PJs. Michael's affinity for the comedic heart and artistic freedom of animation led to a seven-season run as a writer and Co-Executive Producer of the highly acclaimed series, FUTURAMA. From there, Michael joined FAMILY GUY as a writer/producer and soon after, he became the showrunner for Comedy Central's animated series, BRICKLEBERRY. Along the way Michael was awarded 6 Emmy nominations (with 1 win), 2 Annie Awards (with 2 wins), and a WGA Award for his FUTURAMA episode, Game of Tones. He was also nominated for a Canadian Emmy for his work as Executive Producer and Director on Netflix's animated series, THE TRAILER PARK BOYS. In recent live-action endeavors, Michael was a Co-Executive Producer on the hit TV series, 2 BROKE GIRLS for CBS. Michael is currently in development with Supercell creating an adult animated series from their megahit game franchises CLASH OF CLANS and CLASH ROYALE. He is also in development on an animated series with the incredible David Cross, and a separate animated series with Bob Odenkirk. He is also a long-standing, frequent contributor to the ongoing Comedy Central Roasts, featuring such celebrities as James Franco, Donald Trump, Justin Bieber and Roseanne, just to name a few.

Dropped October 1, 2025, by Supercell, this spine-chilling reveal kicks off the Clash-O-Ween season, plunging villages into cosmic chaos with otherworldly invaders hurling meteors and unleashing a creeping curse that warps the land in eerie red vines and shadowy anomalies. Analytic Dreamz breaks down the gameplay frenzy: dodge cascading space rocks in high-stakes defenses, summon Epic Equipment upgrades like the Meteor Shield for troop resilience, and command revamped ranked leagues featuring Wizard and Electro Titan icons for competitive glory amid the apocalypse. He spotlights the thematic overhaul—XL Cosmic Scenery transforming bases into haunted nebulae on October 3, free vine overlays evoking cursed wastelands, and Gold Pass exclusives packing Nightmare Prince, Cursed Champion, Eternal Warden, and Berserker King hero skins that drip with interdimensional menace. From Clan War Leagues resuming October 1-11 to the Cosmic Rock Medal Event (October 10-31) harvesting shards through rock-fueled challenges, and Clan Games (October 22-28) where Strongman braves the fallout with umbrella defiance, Analytic Dreamz evaluates how these layers amp up progression, cosmetics, and events in the October 2025 update. Does the curse's meteor mayhem and ranked revamp inject fresh strategy into veteran raids, or will paywall scenery and event grind overshadow the free-to-play core? He probes ties to ongoing wars and builder base tweaks, questioning if this awakens a new era of strategic horror or tests clan loyalty under stellar siege. For Clash of Clans Cosmic Curse trailer breakdowns, October 2025 update reactions, Supercell events previews, and hero skin analyses, this segment is your village-fortifying essential. This solo Two & a Half Gamers episode dives deep into Clash Royale's shocking revenue revival in 2025. Once seen as a declining nine-year-old title, Supercell's classic has quadrupled revenue, hitting its best month since 2017 with ~$57M in July 2025.Jakub unpacks the timeline of monetization and economy tweaks that fueled this comeback:2018–2022: Decline after failed battle pass integration.2023: Introduction of Evolutions (new progression layer).2024: Lucky Drops introduced (gacha system, adapted from Brawl Stars).Late 2024: Cosmetics added to deepen gacha.March 2025: Game-changing update – chest timers removed, season shop killed, all progression funneled into Lucky Drops.June 2025: Merge Tactics mode added (fun engagement feature, but not a revenue driver). The real driver: tightening the economy and pushing players toward monetized progression. Despite community backlash, revenue skyrocketed. Clash Royale is now Supercell's biggest earner again, overtaking Brawl Stars.Jakub stresses the core lesson: “Fixing your economy makes your game make much more money.”Get our MERCH NOW: 25gamers.com/shop---------------------------------------This is no BS gaming podcast 2.5 gamers session. Jakub Remiar takes you on a no-bullshit, data-driven tour through the real top 25 grossing mobile games in the West (Jan–July 2025). The episode breaks down portfolio dynamics, market shifts, revenue spikes, and the high-stakes race for dominance between 4X, casino, merge, puzzle, and gacha giants. This is not just another leaderboard—this is the context and commentary you need to understand who's winning, who's stalling, and what's really changing the game. What's inside:Who's #1? Last War Survival takes the crown at $823 million, but with all Rivergame's 4X titles, the real number is much higher—and growing. Whiteout Survival, King Shot, and the rest of the portfolio keep pushing the category forward.Royal Match & Royal Kingdom: Dream Games keeps the match-3 crown, with Royal Kingdom's celebrity campaign finally moving the revenue needle. Royal Match and Royal Kingdom together are pulling in around $5 million a day.Monopoly Go's Web Shop Power: Monopoly Go remains a revenue beast at $130 million/month, with a hidden 15–20 percent more from web shop sales. Coin Master is unfazed, rolling steady at $2.5 million a day, and now launching its own board adventure to fight back.Chinese Giants, Untouchable at Home: Honor of Kings is a $10 billion-plus machine, with 99 percent of revenue from China and a massive rebranding push in 2025. PUBG (China and global) still brings $120–180 million a day. Dungeon & Fighter's mobile launch is a new top-10 contender.Category Movers: Gossip Harbor (+76 percent in six months) and Tasty Travels are scaling the merge genre to new highs, while Township's relentless content drops make it the most stable revenue engine in the Playrix portfolio. Gardenscapes and Homescapes are steady, but Township is the new king.Gacha Spikes & Declines: Pokémon TCG Pocket, Honkai Star Rail, and the MiHoYo/HoYoverse catalog are defined by spikes and dips—each banner, new set, or collaboration moves millions, but overall trends are down.Supercell's Double Life: Brawl Stars is declining after a wild 2024, but Clash Royale's merge tactics update drove a surprise revenue spike. Clash of Clans and other classics are still stable, with web shop dollars boosting the baseline.Key Takeaway:The market is bigger, richer, and more dynamic than ever—but the winners are the ones playing the portfolio game, pushing multi-game launches, and finding new ways to own the top 25. If you want to break in, you better bring more than one hit.Get our MERCH NOW: 25gamers.com/shop---------------------------------------Vibe. But, as CEO and cofounder Ilkka Paananen explains on this episode of Startup Europe — the Sifted Podcast, developing new and popular games is a tough business. He sits down with Amy Lewin to explain how Supercell tries to foster creativity by empowering its game development teams by giving them maximum autonomy, and by taking the fear out of failure through celebrating the lessons learnt with less successful game releases.Paananen also lays out why he's bullish on European tech, how AI will change gaming and how VCs can help his industry grow even more.
