This episode was hosted by our Chief Development Officer, Aisha Morrell-Ferguson. Last week's ice storm forced us to use a different tech and introduced a few audio artifacts. We hope that you listen to this conversation; it was great to get a participating father's perspective and learn a little about where the initiative could head from here. How do we balance stereotypes, social media and movie portrayals with the reality that fatherhood influences and elevates our children? What are the growth mindsets and media stories that can re-energize a positive view of dads in society? Writer Holland Webb and pastor/author Carlton Hughes share stories with real-life applications through their book, "Adventures in Fatherhood." Holland and Carlton continue their conversation about fatherhood with Amy and our guest host on this episode, counselor Judy Jankowski. Fatherhood Initiative

David Cozart is the Director of the Father Initiative with the Lexington Leadership Foundation. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 19.7 million children, more than 1 in 4, live without a father in the home. Children raised in homes where the father is not present are at greater risk of encountering a host of problems, from poverty and incarceration to teen pregnancy and childhood obesity. To help counteract that, the Fatherhood Initiative seeks to “restore, equip and deploy fathers and male leaders in families, the faith community and throughout Lexington’s communities.”
