Glances, wrinkles, faces. We are so many, and we are so different. Each glance is a moment, each wrinkle holds emotions, each face has a story. How beautiful it is when we allow ourselves to go deeper, to take the time to truly see another, to witness the layers of a life through the intention behind our gaze.In this episode, Proyecto Co goes into this powerful experience with artist and activist Veronique Charlotte, founder of The Gender Project. Her work captures and celebrates diversity, focusing on the transformative process of art—not only for the artist but for society as a whole. Through her lens, The Gender Project challenges norms and reveals the vulnerability and strength in each individual, pushing for empathy and inclusivity. You will hear about:(05:00 / 10:00) Exploring Identity and Personal Connection: The project encourages self-awareness and authentic expression, allowing participants to connect with themselves and others beyond societal labels and external judgments. (10:00 / 15:00) Empathy and Safe Spaces: By creating a welcoming and supportive environment, *The Gender Project* provides a platform where individuals feel safe to share their personal narratives, fostering a deep sense of empathy and mutual understanding(15:00 / 20:00) Personal Transformation and Trauma Healing: Drawing from her own life experiences, Veronique guides participants in transforming their personal challenges into strength and resilience, emphasizing the healing potential within each story shared.(20:00 / 25:00) Collective and Social Impact: The project raises important questions about identity, acceptance, and visibility, challenging societal norms and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within communities.(25:00 / 30:00) Art as a Catalyst for Change: Through exhibitions, public events, and open dialogues, The Gender Project inspires reflection on diversity, equality, and social justice, using art as a powerful medium for personal and collective transformation.Veronique Charlotte's and The Gender Project highlights the beauty and resilience within each unique face, reminding us of the strength found in vulnerability and the profound impact that art can have in bridging divides, fostering empathy, and inspiring change. This is a produccion and distribuition for Efecto Colibrí - Your podcast site for an inclusive, just and regerative reality.

Andy Summers: Guitarist for the Police announces the NZ tour for 'The Cracked Lens + A Missing String'

With over 75 million records sold, six Grammy's, and inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Police are one of the most iconic bands in the world.  Although they're no longer making music as a group, each member is still immersed in their creative pursuits, and guitarist Andy Summers is following his all the way to New Zealand.  In an exclusive first announcement, Summers will be bringing Kiwi audiences ‘The Cracked Lens + A Missing String', an intimate, multimedia performance full of musical performances, stories, and his celebrated photography.  He told Newstalk ZB's Mike Hosking that tickets for the shows are hard to come by and he's getting a standing ovation every night.  “So, I think it's going well.”  Summers began his foray into photography while touring with the Police in 1979. He said he had plenty of time on his hands and photographers were abundant.  “I finally sort of crossed over and got a good camera and said, ‘well, I'm gonna do this,'” he told Hosking.  “It turned into, you know, a passion that I stayed with ever since.”  When it comes to his photography, Summers favours abstraction, focusing on composition, values, balance, and colour as opposed to interesting faces or scenes.  “I think of it in formal properties,” he explained.  “Not like, ohhh, that's an exciting moment, you know, that man's doing something to that man, whatever.”  This different way of thinking carries through to his music as well, Summers citing a quote from critic Walter Pater: ‘all art constantly aspires to the condition of music'.  “I find the information that I had from music is sort of... you can take it across to photography. And again, you know, like in music you would be thinking of line shape, one thing contrasting against another, a structure.”  “All these things can be applied to photography.”  Summers blends his creative pursuits further, creating scores that go alongside his photographs. His newest EP ‘Vertiginous Canyons', releasing later this month, is a companion for his 2023 photography book ‘A Series of Glances'.  He revealed to Hosking that the score is entirely improvised, as he played around until he got sounds that inspired him and built each track off that.  “I made those tracks in one afternoon, which I think is very healthy,” Summers laughed.  There's often an idea that quality directly correlates with the time something takes, but Summers doesn't believe that matters, saying that some of the greatest things are done in minutes.  “I was trying to tell somebody this morning,” he said to Hosking.  “You know, you sit there and slog away trying to write something, and then you give up, and the last minute you give up, it suddenly arrives in your head.”  While some of it can be attributed to years of training and familiarity with his craft, there is another sort of mysterious element to it: a spark of inspiration.  Summers has been playing guitar since he was young, transitioning through styles and genres throughout his life. He grew up playing jazz and classical, learning from people like Kenny Burrell and Jimmy Rainey, and began his professional career in a rhythm and blues band before joining the Police.  After their disbandment in 1984, Summers began his solo career influenced by all sorts of music, taking inspiration from the likes of Thelonious Monk and Miles David.   “All this was something that I wish to take elements from and kind of build my own style.”  "What's more creatively fulfilling, post-Police or the Police?” Hosking asked, which Summers said was a “bit of a cruel question”.  “I can't really answer that,” he said.  The two are different things Summers told him, with the Police being “the magic band”, something that doesn't come along often, and his solo work being incredibly enjoyable as well.  “I've made 15 solo albums and I really dug into it,” Summers said.  He's renewed his studio equipment, confirming his plans to create more music in the coming future.  “I think we went through a weird time with Covid and everything seemed to have stopped, and now it feels like life is coming back again.”  “I'm on the road and I renewed the studio, so yeah, looking forward to it. Feeling good about it.”  Tour Dates:  19th September, Opera House, Wellington.  20th September, James Hay Theatre, Christchurch.  3rd October, Town Hall, Auckland.  LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we talk through some of the key aspects rumored for watchOS 10's redesigned UI. Last week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that ‌watchOS 10‌ will introduce an all-new system of widgets for interacting with the Apple Watch. He explained that widgets will become a "central part" of the Apple Watch's interface and compared the new system to Glances, the widgets interface that launched on the original Apple Watch before being scrapped in watchOS 3, and the style of widgets that iOS 14 brought to the iPhone. Apple is also apparently testing changes to the functions performed by the Apple Watch's buttons. For example, a press of the Digital Crown may now launch the new widgets view, rather than navigate to the home screen. The new interface will apparently be "reminiscent" of the ‌Siri‌ watch face that was introduced in watchOS 4, but as an overlay for any Apple Watch face. "It's also similar to widget stacks, a feature in iOS and iPadOS that lets users pile many widgets into one and scroll through them," Gurman added. There are also rumors about ‌watchOS 10‌ introducing a new home screen layout that takes cues from iOS with features like app folders. The changes are part of what is expected to be one of the Apple Watch's biggest software updates since its introduction and the most significant change to the Apple Watch this year, as only minor hardware updates are expected to be unveiled later this year. We consider how this new UI could take shape and how we feel about the proposed changes, reflecting on Glances, watchOS 4's ‌Siri‌ watch face, past changes to the Apple Watch's buttons, and the future of apps on the device. We also discuss some of the latest Apple news, including the expansion of AirTag-like tracking alerts to third-party devices, iOS 17's rumored Wallet and Health app redesigns, and the delay of the microLED Apple Watch Ultra to 2025. I'm sure you're familiar with package managers for your OS even if you don't use them. On macOS we have Homebrew, Chocolatey on Windows, and apt, yum, and others on Linux. But if you want to install Python applications, you typically have to fallback to managing them with pip. Maybe you install them for your account with the --user flag. But with pipx you get a clean, isolated install for every Python application that you use. And if you distribute Python apps, pipx is a definitely worth considering as a channel. Helps me enter into a more contemplative, even meditative state. It seems to untie the spiritual or emotional knot that I didn't even notice was there. But now it's better. Just taking a moment to be -- to really be -- in this space and just be Here. I feel the same way when I'm hiking in the hills, walking through a forest, or even just sitting at the edge of a pond in my neighborhood. It feels nice to just be, even if only for a moment. To take a moment to pause, to step away, and to be Here With The Magic. Walt Disney wholeheartedly believed that our ability to experience joy, happiness, hopefulness, and peace could be found more generously in nature than in any other context or setting. It's no so surprise, then, that the man who would create and later inspire the building of so many themed experiences around the world, most known for their E ticket attractions, would also be deliberate in ensuring that more nature-oriented spaces would find a home in the parks -- offering an oasis in the midst of the more thrilling adventures being experienced just steps away. Today we enjoy the tranquility of the dining gardens of Flame Tree Barbecue. The first time I visited, I was struck by the juxtaposition of it all. How could a place with this name play host to such a restorative space. But it does. Veiled in the smoky, enticing aroma of a summertime barbecue, this place, loosely inspired by Balinese gardens, is actually perfect for a picnic or an afternoon of relaxation. Like the guests dining here, tropical birds find sustenance by the water's edge, their vibrant hues and harmonies reflected in the rhythms and flowers all around us. Glances of sunlight peek through the leaves rustling gently in a mild breeze. In the distance, we hear the melody and percussion of passing character flotillas -- Animal Kingdom's water-based version of a cavalcade. Away from the crammed queues and itineraries of digital genies, this is a place that invites a breath, a pause, a lull in the action in favor of, well, absolutely nothing. A richly overgrown garden, hidden away in the heart of Walt Disney World, preserved for the joy-seekers and the finders, keepers - the ones who know that Magic can come from anywhere, and the ones who desire more than anything to be Here.

Again With This: Beverly Hills, 90210 & Melrose Place

The merry partners are all ready to get down to some seafaring except, whoops, Reed announces that he had to cancel the one charter they had booked without giving anyone any notice, and he doesn't seem to be that interested in rescheduling it, or lining up any more business. Jake and Amanda's attempt to get him on track just ends in Amanda demanding her money back. Meanwhile, Jo discovers the secret trap door, and though she initially accepts Reed's explanation that it's to save him lugging valuables on and off, it's on her mind when Jake warns her that, according to the state of California, Reed's boat officially does not exist. Will Jo survive her own curiosity? Billy and Alison's attempts to make a long-distance relationship work are hampered by Billy's horny new co-worker, who's apparently determined to set Billy up with someone immediately and won't take "I have a girlfriend" for an answer. Out of his mind recovering in the hospital, a delirious Michael starts babbling some incriminating remarks about blood alcohol this and Matt that -- unfortunately, within Sydney's hearing. Matt and Michael aren't sure what she's going to do with this information, but they're not thrilled she has it. And as Matt continues trying to understand what it's like to work under Don't Ask Don't Tell, he encourages Jeffrey to live his truth, with unintended consequences.
