Grace P. Cho is a Korean-American writer and Senior Acquisitions Editor at Revell, which is an imprint of Baker Publishing Group. Grace has authored and edited several inCourage bible studies and devotionals. And she's most recently contributed to the book Voices of Lament: Reflections on Brokenness and Hope in a World Longing for Justice. I've known Grace for many years and she is a kind and gracious presence for me personally, but she extends this beyond just her personal friends. She creates space for people to be known, nurtured, and challenged through her work and she desires to elevate women of color's voices in the publishing industry. Grace has said several goodbyes in the last year, but her experience is is a beautiful illustration of how not all goodbyes are sad. Her kind, generative presence and perspective on life and change is right on time. Listen in. LINKS + RESOURCES FROM THIS EPISODE: Visit Grace P. "Wisdom is being able to pick out the truth from the things that don't matter. I wonder, then, about the times I've asked God for wisdom but waited around for it to drop from the skies instead of actively seeking it. Or the times I've asked but didn't receive what was given to me because of the way it was provided or because of the messenger it was given through. I wonder if my preferences become pickiness and I end up foolish instead of wise when God's been providing wisdom for me all along."Leave a comment for Grace: https://incourage.me/?p=234005--Dive Into God's Word with Summer Soul Care Resources! "Anything we do and anything we are amounts to nothing if we don't have love. Jesus was love made flesh, love embodied. As I think about how to live this middle-aged life stage well, how to create a world for the next generation that would generate flourishing, I remember how Jesus lived out 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 –  'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. When I think about love this way, it makes the cross mean so much more. Christ didn't die from a place of strength, but from a place of humility. He didn't die going out swinging. He died spread out and surrendered. He didn't die from a place of fullness. He died empty and poured out. God emptied Himself to be with us. We empty ourselves to be with others. Empty is enough."Leave a comment for Anjuli: https://incourage.me/?p=231506--The spring issue of DaySpring's Everyday Faith magazine is now on newsstands! "Knowledge without understanding builds a flat, often unlived faith. I've learned that knowledge without understanding builds a flat, often unlived faith that lacks nuance and grace for self and others. And though knowledge can be good in and of itself, I've learned that the way we use it, why we believe it, and how we live it are what can lead to wisdom."Leave a comment for Grace, and join the study! https://incourage.me/?p=229705--Bible study starts this week! Curiosity keeps us tender to each other's humanity. When we don't know someone, it's easy to dehumanize them and treat them as if they're an object made for our judgment. We can make assumptions about their character, their background, their family, their life, and feel justified as we do so. But when we stay curious, we keep their humanity in view. We also take an honest look at what justice means to them for their community and what they need from the faith communities right now.
