With the world on pause as a global pandemic calls the shots, we thought we would catch up with some of our fellow Voltron fans and see how they are handling this new world of social distancing. We have reports from other Voltron fans that shared emails with us, as well. Thank you to Zilla, Mel, Lexi, and K-Lionheart for joining us!We hope all of you are staying safe at home and are able to still connect with your friends and family, remotely. We know we will all be able to get together sometime soon again, and that maybe the world we return to will be a better world, where we all look out for each other. Help Rebuild Han Cholo! In the spirit of charity and coming together like Voltron, we are asking for your help for our close friends at Han Cholo. In addition to dealing with their store having to close for the pandemic, and their employees having to stay home, we learned that their LA store had been robbed recently. All of their inventory, as well as high-value collectibles and office equipment, had been stolen. There is no insurance to recoup the losses, so they have opened up a GoFundMe page to help donate to their goal. Here is the link for the donations:https://www.gofundme.com/f/han-choloLet's Voltron and help Han Cholo reach their goal! We love everyone at Han Cholo and wish you well. And, to all Voltron Fans around the world, thank you for listening! Please stay safe and stay home until the Earth is safe again for us all to connect! Look out for each other! We love you all!

Marc's son, Lucas, joins the podcast to review the Steam video game, Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion. And, Lucas sticks around to talk about what's on everyone's Christmas Gift List for Voltron Fans.Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion, developed by Switzerland-based independent game studio, Gbanga, was the winning game coming out of the 2018 Universal GameDev Challenge. The game demonstrated the most potential for expansion into a commercial product and beat hundreds of other submissions to win the competition. In case you’re not already aware, the Universal GameDev Challenge was a collaboration between Universal Games and Unity Technologies and sponsored by Intel and Microsoft, that invited developers to submit a design for a PC game that leveraged one of five iconic Universal brands: Back to the Future, Jaws, Battlestar Galactica, DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender and Turok Son of Stone. Nearly 550 entries were submitted worldwide. As the grand prize winner, Gbanga received $150,000 and a year-long consulting contract with Universal Games and Digital Platforms for Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion.Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion is a one-on-one, real-time-strategy game boiled down to a single sideview screen, with fighting and puzzler game elements. The action-packed title is based on an episode in the Netflix original series DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender, where the Olkari people were forced to build a single gigantic cube superweapon that tried to destroy Voltron. In the game, both sides build single weapon cubes – the so-called Cubes of Olkarion – and stack them to towers in the middle. Each cube has different attack and defense abilities. Some of these cubes can launch projectiles, others are placed for defense, others can spawn units that attack the opponent.Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion is available on Steam for PC for $19.99 and the Founder's Pack DLC is $9.99. Check out the game page here:https://store.steampowered.com/app/1078550/Voltron_Cubes_of_Olkarion/Lucas reviews this game on this podcast, with Marc and Greg, AND Lucas put together a video review for our YouTube Channel, and you can see that here:https://youtu.be/qxdqpy9RkEgThank you, Lucas, for these great reviews! For our Voltron Fan Christmas list, we reviewed some of the items we think Voltron Fans would want this year. This podcast is our COMPLETE coverage of Voltron at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2018. Marc shares everything that happened at SDCC with Greg, who is hearing it for the first time, including interviews with Bex Taylor-Klaus, Jeremy Shada, Rhys Darby, Josh Hamilton, Lauren Montgomery, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kyle Anderson. Also, we cover the Voltron panel, signings, SDCC exclusives, and we are excited to announce the winner of the Voltron Season 6 Prize Pack, and introduce a new SDCC Voltron Prize Pack and how to enter to win it! One of the first things we talk about is an announcement made for a Voltron book coming in 2019 by Andrew Farago, who had Original Voltron Director Franklin Cofod on a panel called Totally Awesome: The Greatest Cartoons of the 80's. His Voltron book will be called Voltron: The Ultimate Visual History, published by Insight Editions in 2019. Of course, we will have Andrew on the podcast when that book is released! Of course, we know you all want to hear about the interviews we had with the Cast and Crew of Voltron Legendary Defender! So, in addition to hearing them on the podcast, you can also WATCH them on our YouTube Channel! Here is the link to each interview: Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Jeremy Shada (Lance) - https://youtu.be/EsIjNl4ZTYg Rhys Darby (Coran) and Josh Hamilton (Story Editor) - https://youtu.be/DVZiADaPyvw Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) - https://youtu.be/o9MGSRAL2so And... as an added special bonus, we have an interview with the Moderator of the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC, the Associate Editor at Nerdist, and the Host of a brand new VLD Episode Commentary Podcast called FORM PODCAST - Kyle Anderson - https://youtu.be/3O5NG2EQ58E We also wanted to mention that Voltron Legendary Defender's Legendary Voice Director Andrea Romano was brought out of retirement to do an episode commentary for Form Podcast, but Marc was also able to interview Andrea, because she was also brought back for the Batman: The Animated Series Panel at SDCC. We were so happy to talk to Andrea Romano again!! Also, we covered the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC and the signings of both the cast and crew at the autograph area AND Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson at the Lion Forge Booth for the Voltron Legendary Defender Comics, Vol 3, Issue 1 SDCC Exclusive Variant Cover! There were also SDCC Voltron Exclusives for: LEGO Ideas Voltron, which we covered in our last podcast, but can't help talking about AGAIN, because it's so awesome!!!! Han Cholo Classic Voltron Membership Kit and VLD Enamel Pins, Blue Lion Ring and Bayard Pendants! Here are some of our pictures from everything we mentioned here: We were so excited about the announcements for Season 7 being 13 episodes, coming to Netflix on August 10, and that the remaining 13-episode drop will occur before the end of this year, so we are thinking December, but don't quote us! And it is certainly cool that we will have a complete 78-episode Voltron story on Netflix , we will be sad when it is all over, because it is such an amazing series. We want to thank the whole cast and crew of Voltron Legendary Defender at DreamWorks Animation, all the animators at Studio Mir, and all the people at Universal, DreamWorks, Team Click and Netflix who have allowed us to cover everything for Voltron. Drawing for Line Tickets to be held Saturday at 9:00 am in the Autograph Area. Take a look at the poster: Yesterday, it was announced that LEGO Ideas Voltron 21311 Set will be available to buy on August 1, 2018! We had LEGO Ideas Designer Lendy Tayag on our podcast to talk all about when his design hit 10,000 supporters (http://www.letsvoltron.com/58) and when his design had been approved to have the set go into production (http://www.letsvoltron.com/107) Here is a quote from LEGO Designer Niek Duco van Slagmaat, who's task it was to turn Lendy's design into an actual product that can be assembled using instructions provided in the set. Here's his quote: "Let’s go Voltron Force! I cannot put into words how much this model means to me. When it hit 10k votes, I started working on models to try and prove that we could do something like this. Now, almost 2 years later, it’s really happening! I have Samuel Johnson to thank for fighting to allow me to work on this project and Lendy for getting it to 10k with his awesome model. From the very beginning, the consensus was that we could not make this as a LEGO product, so it was my job to prove people wrong. To kick reason to the curb and do the impossible! By not giving up and continuing to smash our heads into the wall, we made it possible. Crucial points in a mech this size are the joints. Most of the development time on this product was relentlessly churning out shoulder and elbow joints just to have them be rejected for any number of reasons by our rigorous quality department. I went through at least 30 different shoulder builds and about 20 full iterations of Voltron in designing this model. As a fan-builder myself, I was eager to get some good recolors into this set for people that like to build their own stuff, like the ingot and a whole host of drum lacquered pieces! This set also features a number of decorations, my favorite being the 2x2 grey tile with mechanical detail. This was designed to be a perfect fit, but also a good element to be used in your own creations as a finishing touch. Graphic designer Mark Tranter did a fantastic job. I really hope you will enjoy building this model, I poured my heart and soul into making this a reality!" Here are the details about this wonderful new LEGO Ideas 21311 Voltron Set: Features 5 buildable and posable lions that can be transformed and combined to create the giant Voltron super robot. Play with the lions individually or combine them using extra-strong joints to form Voltron—the black lion forms the head and torso; the red and green lions form the arms; and the yellow and blue lions form the legs. Pose the head, shoulders, arms and wrists of Voltron (legs are not posable). Also includes a sword and shield (each with silver-colored elements) that attach firmly to Voltron’s hands. Includes a booklet with building instructions, plus information about the set’s fan creator and super force of LEGO® designers. This set includes over 2,321 pieces. Display or play out exciting stories from the original 1980s animated Voltron TV series and the modern DreamWorks Voltron: Legendary Defender series. Voltron measures over 15” (40cm) high, 5” (14cm) long and 8” (21cm) wide. Black lion measures over 6” (17cm) high, 8” (22cm) long and 5” (15cm) wide. Yellow and blue lions each measure over 3” (8cm) high, 8” (21cm) long and 3” (8cm) wide. Green and red lions each measure over 3” (8cm) high, 7” (18cm) long and 1” (5cm) wide. Voltron’s sword measures 11” (29cm) long. Voltron’s shield measures 6” (16cm) in diameter. LEGO Voltron will be available from shop.LEGO.com/Voltron and LEGO stores around the world from the 1st of August, 2018 for a recommended retail price of USD/EURO* 179.99 / GBP 159.99. Marc and Kim Morrell covered all the Voltron events at New York Comic Con 2017 (NYCC), including the Voltron Legendary Defender Pre-Panel with Mark Daniel, the Panel, interviews with the cast and producers, Voltron on the LIVE stage, and the signings and Voltron fan meetup. There were also exhibit hall booths we visited, like Han Cholo, Lion Forge, and Simon & Schuster, as well as artists on the show floor and artist alley. In this podcast, we share it all with Greg, who wasn't able to go, and all the Voltron fans around the world that couldn't make it to NYCC. There is a lot to cover at New York Comic Con, especially when it comes to Voltron Legendary Defender, the greatest show on Netflix, and any device anywhere! And it all started with the Voltron Legendary Defender Cast and Crew Autograph Signings at Table 21 of the Autograph Hall on Friday, Oct 6, 2017. This wonderful lithograph designed by Lauren Montgomery was signed for every Voltron Fan in line. Here's what we had signed, and some of those pictures: On Saturday, Voltron Fans lined up to get into the panel early, and we saw some great cosplay in line. Here are some of those pics: Then, people were allowed to enter the Main Stage at NYCC, and take their seats for the 11 AM Voltron Legendary Defender Season 4 Panel. Mark Daniel was the Master of Ceremonies for the Pre-Panel Show and he was absolutely great with all the Voltron fans. He brought all the people up to the front who had cosplayed as Voltron characters, and they proceeded to do the first ever LIONWALK at NYCC. Then, he asked Let's Voltron Podcast Host Marc Morrell to come up on stage and they talked all about Season 4, Voltron Merch at NYCC and elsewhere, and they plugged the podcast. Both of them were wearing their Let's Voltron Podcast Five to Thrive Shirts, designed by Zilla (@beanyzilla). Big Thanks to Mark Daniel for all the Let's Voltron LOVE! Here are some pics from that Pre-Panel Show: We made a video of the Pre-Panel Show for people who weren't able to see that from the LIVE Collider YouTube stream from the panel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjGEB5IcOio Now, the panel did not disappoint Voltron fans, who were looking for glimpses into Season 4, as there were several clips from Season 4 played for the audience during the panel. Here are some of the pics from the panel: After the panel, we had interviews with the cast and producers of Voltron Legendary Defender. Listen to the podcast to see if you were the winner of the Voltron Positivity Bundle, which includes cool art items from Zilla's own secret stash. Because this was a "pay it forward" style contest, you may be surprised to find out you won. As we review both of these episodes, it might be cool to listen to the podcast and watch the episodes and follow along on Netflix, as we cover them line-by-line. You can then pause Netflix when we get into extra detail in our review, and continue on when we do. If you do this, please write us at letsvoltronpodcast@gmail.com and tell us what it was like.
