On this episode of TCOAG, Harry Symeou looks back on Arsenal 4-2 Leicester City in the Premier League. The Gunners cruised into a two-goal lead thanks to Gabriel Martinelli's first of the season and Leandro Trossard's strike just before half-time. But a sloppy start to the second half allowed the Foxes back into the game and two James Justin goals, including a stunning volley saw the visitors draw level. A late goal from Leandro Trossard followed by a fourth from Kai Havertz in stoppage time saw Mike Arteta's side take all three points and full advantage of Man City's slip up at Newcastle United earlier in the day. Are we inevitable? I don't know what you think but for me that was way too stressful for a September afternoon.

Kev caught up with star Town summer signing Amari'i Bell via Zoom after training on Thursday in the latest of our exclusive player podcasts. The pair begin by discussing how the Jamaica international has settled in at Kenilworth Road and what it was that made him join Luton over the interest of many other clubs. The focus then turns to the left-back position and filling the boots of James Justin, the balance between attacking and defending in that role and also the flexibility of playing as a left-back or as a wing-back. The discussion then moves onto the start the Town have made to the Championship season, having fans back and playing at Kenilworth Road, as well as what can be achieved this term before we find out the World Cup aspirations of the defender. The podcast then concludes with Amari'i discussing the potential move to Power Court, which became a step closer to reality the day before, with a positive decision at Luton Council's planning committee meeting.

Hugh Woozencroft is joined by Gregor Robertson, Alyson Rudd and Tom Roddy. While people focus on the Manchester clubs and City’s lead at the top of the table, Leicester City have quietly gone about their business with some impressive results. How much will they miss James Justin after his injury and will they finish in the top 4? Liverpool have seen their season drift and after three losses in a row, remarkably some fans have been suggesting it’s time up for Jurgen Klopp. He’s dealt with personal grief this past week with the loss of his mother, could the German take some time off while lockdown restrictions allow him to be with his family back home? VAR, one again causes some debate between the panel - do we need to see the lines and should something similar to ‘umpire’s call’ in cricket be tested? Fulham pulled off an impressive win over Everton on Sunday - is there any hope of survival for Scott Parker’s side? We discuss the worst pieces of club merchandise after Spurs’ less-than-inspiring range of Carabao Cup final tat and end with our favourite misquotes, after we mis-quoted our very own Jonathan Northcroft on the last episode! Kev, James and Tony are joined by Town fan Kev Steptoe to preview the upcoming campaign, one which will see Luton playing in the second tier for the first time in 13 seasons after that momentous League 1 title success last term. At the date of recording, seven men had joined the Hatters for the new season and each one is focused on individually, as are the new members of the management setup – Graeme Jones and Gary Brabin. "TELL LUALUA TO PUT THE CHAMPAGNE ON ICE, WE'RE GETTING PROMOTED TWICE, TELL LUALUA...." Has anyone even stopped celebrating yet? 'Course not! On May 4 2019, Luton Town Football Club beat Oxford United 3-1 to be crowned CHAMPIONS of League One and seal with silverware their return to the Championship after 12 years away. It was the football club's first ever back-to-back promotion and fully deserved after a record-breaking season where they went on a club best 28-game unbeaten run and undefeated at home all season, all guided by the legend that is Mick Harford. The following day, as the big man led his side through packed the streets of Luton on an open top bus to St George's Square filled with 11,000 mad Hatters, Kevin, Tony and James gathered around the mic outside the Town Hall civic reception, joined by the voice of the Hatters Simon Pitts, to sum up one of the very best weekends, seasons and years in the history of Luton Town Football Club. We spoke to some of the men that created the magic and you can also hear interviews with: Hero Mick Harford (13:56) Goal of the Season winner George Moncur (17:59) Players' Player of the Year Andrew Shinnie (20:00) Injured skipper-cum-fan Glen Rea (27:48) "One of our own" James Justin (30:33) League One Golden Glove winner James Shea (33:05)
Never mind what the recent League One team of the year says, Kev and Tony spoke to the best two full-backs in the division in James Justin and Jack Stacey in this bonus episode of the Luton Town Supporters' Trust Podcast Both have been a revelation for the Town this term, so it came as some surprise that only James made it into that team along with top scorer James Collins, while five players from second-placed Barnsley were picked. That’s because James and Jack have been integral to a defence that has claimed more than 20 clean sheets this term and that has enjoyed a club record-breaking 28 league games unbeaten. But it’s their attacking talents that have lit up Luton this term. With two games left to claim promotion and do it as champions, the duo discuss one of the most memorable campaigns in Hatters history and the very real prospect of helping Luton back to the Championship after 12 years away.
We have a debrief and what we saw and heard at Sunday's EFL Awards, including grilling Teemu Pukki, Billy Sharp, Jamal Lewis, Max Aarons, Jarrod Bowen and James Justin on their leagues' best 5-a-side team. Kevin Harper and James Cunliffe get in front of the mics, minus Tony 'Sicknote' Murray, for a bumper January edition of the Luton Town Supporters' Trust podcast. What is due to be the one of the biggest months in the club's history both on an off the pitch, the Town were rocked by the news that manager Nathan Jones left for the Stoke City job, halfway through a promotion-chasing season and a couple of weeks that could define, not only the Hatters' future, but the town of Luton. Just 24 hours after Jones left Kenilworth Road, Kevin and James unpick the shock news and ruminate on the ramifications for Luton. Then there's the monumental planning application decision dates for Power Court (January 16) and Newlands Park (January 30), which will determine whether Luton get permission for a new stadium and the town gets approval for the two biggest decisions to effect the borough of Luton in a lifetime. There is also the second part of a new feature on the podcast - Simon's Stats - where popular Town commentator Simon Pitts will drill down into club statistics, past and present. All that as well that, there are discussions on: December's results January's fixture list against, with massive clashes against promotion rivals, Sunderland (A), Peterborough (H) and Portsmouth (A), plus a winner faces Chelsea FA Cup third round replay against Sheffield Wednesday (H) and a league trip to Southend (A). the January transfer window, including the loan signing of George Thorne from Derby. player of the month player focus - James Justin
