First, Dom asks Marty to break down the news, with Dr. Makary forecasting that the President will be fine with his mild diagnosis. Then, Giordano asks Dr. Makary about the fear of ‘long COVID,' with Makary telling that the fear in the media is a bit overblown but long term symptoms are something that the medical community needs to continue to monitor. In addition, Dr. Makary offers his thoughts on a new experimental treatment employed by Biden, comparing it to past medications such as Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine. Then, Giordano moves things back to more local topics, offering an update on the teenage assailants in the traffic cone beating death of 73-year old James Lambert, telling of foolish words said by the attorney of the 14-year-old male involved. Then, Dom plays back a clip from the mother of 14-year old Gamara Mosley, who argued to Fox29 that her child is a good girl caught in a tough situation. (Photo by Getty images)

Last month, a 14-year-old girl turned herself in to authorities for her alleged role in the beating death of a 73-year-old man. On Wednesday, July 13, NBC Philadelphia reported two teenagers surrendered to Philadelphia Police, but the 13-year-old was later released. In the death of 73-year-old James Lambert, however, the 14-year-old was charged with third-degree murder. A traffic cone was reportedly used to beat him several times. In the same incident, a 14-year-old boy and his 10-year-old brother surrendered to Philadelphia Police earlier this week. NBC Philadelphia reports that the 14-year-old has been charged with murder, but the 10-year-old has been released. Lambert was allegedly attacked by four juvenile males and three juvenile females at 2:38 a.m. on Friday, June 24, in the vicinity of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The suspects hit the victim several times with objects, knocking him to the ground and injuring his head, according to the police report. The following day, Lambert died from his wounds after being taken to a nearby hospital. If you like TRUE CRIME TODAY - Be sure to search and subscribe wherever you download podcasts! Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards. First, Dom welcomes local defense attorney Rania Major, who represents one of the children involved in the beating death of 73-year-old James Lambert on Cecil B. Moore avenue. Major describes how and why she's decided to get involved in the case that's made both local and national headlines, offering a look into the planned defense of her juvenile client. Also, Major provides a bit more clarity on what happened the night from the perspective of the assailants, and explains why she believes everybody deserves the right to a criminal defense. Then, local attorney Lonny Fish, representing a 14-year-old charged with 3rd degree murder for the beating death of 73-year-old James Lambert, joins the Dom Giordano Program to preview the defense of his 14-year-old client, telling about his client and telling he does not see how we would be safer by locking up. Lonny argues his point, telling that in the overall scope of gun violence and heightened violence in Philadelphia, putting a 14-year-old in jail would make no change. In addition, Fish provides in-depth details about the night, and how he believes the timeline to work out as the case moves on.

Believe it or not, Daily Kos is turning 20! We're celebrating this major milestone with a Downballot retrospective, looking back at some of our favorite races over the years with longtime contributing editor James Lambert. We start with a classic 2005 special election in a dark red district in Ohio, featuring "Fighting" Dem Paul Hackett versus Republican "Mean Jean" Schmidt, that foretold the 2006 blue wave. Then we dive deep into the absolutely gonzo 2008 House race on Staten Island that began when an entrenched Republican suddenly revealed he had a secret second family in Virginia—and only got much, much stranger from there. Co-hosts David Nir and David Beard also recap Tuesday's primaries, including the battle between Henry Cuellar and Jessica Cisneros that's now gone into overtime; the lousy night Trump-backed candidates had across the board; and another incumbent-vs.-incumbent battle in Georgia where the more progressive congresswoman won despite representing a much smaller portion of her new district. In fact, it's just a matter of substituting one word with another. Something this simple may sound as if it could make no significant difference to your life. We are so used to thinking that improvements come about through struggle. However, I encourage you to just try this one small change in your life and then experience the difference in your mental attitude and state of wellbeing.

Space tech developments aren't just a battle between middle aged billionaires. Nor is it a Cold War leftover.  The technologies we use every day to watch TV and hail a taxi rely on connections in space. As the cost of space tech falls, and VC investment in the sector rises, the opportunities for business and consumer innovation open up. Listen to this episode with Dr James Lambert, Head of Operations at private space tech company Pulsar Fusion, to get an overview of this fascinating industry. Learning notes: The cost of getting satellites into space is falling, which means more companies are using space technology. Space tech is particularly useful to scan images of the Earth to answer specific questions, such as: where shall we mine for gold? The companies that can reduce the cost of getting satellites into space or connecting space hardware with Earth level software, are those getting the most interest from investors today. Innovations by private space companies, rather than governments, have driven down the cost of space tech.   Say hi to Dr James Lambert here.   Enroll in How To Speak Tech For Leaders by 26 July 2021. How do we learn a piece? That’s a question thatI recently put out to the Contrabass Conversations community.  The responses I got back were fascinating. While we all have a different approach to learning a piece (as you’ll see in this episode!), there are certain recurring approaches that I discovered: Listening to recordings Watching videos on YouTube. Beginning with a “bird’s eye” perspective Playing along with recordings. Working in chunks. Connecting small chunks to form bigger chunks. Slow practice. Identifying key notes in phrases. This podcast episode consists of advice from Ed Maxwell, Cristóbal Caballero, Dennis Bergevin, Gaelen McCormick, David Feldman, Marcel Villaflor, David Goodwin, David Heyes, James Lambert, Kurt Muroki, Paul Cannon, Paul Sanwald, Martin Zuinglio, Peggy Johnston, Nathan May, Sharif Ibrahim, Danielle Meyer, Joshua Henry Endo, Chantal Incandela, Peter Tambroni, and Ayrian Yasar. We also feature excerpts from past interviews with Paul Cannon, Peter Tambroni, Leon Bosch, and Diana Gannett. In Australia, we're working with a wild array of slang: classic phrases, new inventions, and slang so good that other countries want a piece of it. In this episode, lexicographer James Lambert explains the appeal of informal language; Kate tries to blend in at the skate park (gnarly, dude!); and Sue Butler decodes a song we all know, but perhaps have never entirely understood.   Read more about Word for Word at: macquariedictionary.com.au/podcast
