On the morning of January 24, 2006, 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse got ready for work after returning from a romantic getaway with her boyfriend. By 9 AM, she was supposed to be at the office—but she never arrived. It wasn't like Jennifer to miss work without a call, so her boss contacted her parents, who immediately drove two hours to her Orlando condo. On the way, they asked the building manager to check her unit. Inside, everything appeared normal—nothing out of place, nothing missing—except for Jennifer and her car. Two days later, her car was found parked at a nearby condo complex, a mile from her home. Surveillance footage captured a person of interest walking away after parking her car—but to this day, their identity remains unknown. More than nineteen years later, Jennifer is still missing, and her family is still searching for answers. 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse disappeared on January 24, 2006. Based on the state of her condo, she had clearly showered and was getting ready for work when she left her apartment—either on her own or by force. At the time of her disappearance, Jennifer was 5'7” and weighed 130 pounds. She has sandy blonde hair and green eyes, and a green shamrock tattoo on her left buttocks. It is believed she had her cell phone, iPod, and purse with her. The exact time she vanished is unknown, but due to the condition of her condo, investigators believe she left—or was taken—between 7:30 and 7:45 AM on the 24th. The disappearance of Jennifer Kesse is a frustrating case because there's so much evidence to point to exactly what happened, and yet, no one has ever been caught for the crime and Jennifer still remains missing. It's a situation where an innocent young woman was just going about her daily routine when she crossed paths with someone who intended to do her harm and ever since then its been a nightmare for her family who just wants to know what happened and for justice to be served.

This week marks 18 years since Jennifer Kesse disappeared in Orlando, Florida. This week, we're re-releasing our 2022 episode on her case in hopes of helping her name stay out there. Jennifer's parents, Joyce and Drew Kesse also released a statement about their daughter and the current status of their investigation, which we are reading in full before the episode. If you would like to donate to the Kesse's GoFundMe to raise money for their investigation into their daughter's abduction, you can do so here. If you're not able to donate, a share will go a long way. ----Jennifer Kesse was in love. She and her boyfriend, Rob Allen had been together for over a year, and even though it was long-distance, they were making it work. When it comes to great philosophers, I've always said my favorite is Winnie the Pooh Pooh once said, ““How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” When today's guest Bill Gilmour last saw his niece, Jennifer Kessee, he didn't know that he would have to find a way to be able to say the same thing. Welcome to another episode of The Unlovely Truth. I'm your host, private investigator Lori Morrison. Join me for another captivating true crime story, where physical, spiritual, and emotional safety takeaways are waiting for us. If you are listening, I believe you have a unique calling—to become a different kind of PI, not a typical private investigator, but a person of impact! This is Season 5, Episode 2. Our book this week is “Aftermath of Jennifer Kesse's Abduction: An Uncle's Quest for Understanding & Inspiring Life Lessons" and our guest is the book's author, Bill Gilmour, Jennifer's uncle. On Tuesday, January 24, 2006 Bill Gilmour got a call from his sister telling him that his niece Jennifer Kesse was missing. Two days later the lives of every member of his family were changed forever when it became apparent that Jennifer hadn't just disappeared on her own. She'd been kidnapped. Bill wrote this book, incredibly, to share not just Jennifer's story, but how he was able to eventually regain joy. Despite their efforts, their beloved Jennifer remains missing. Bill Gilmour has endured his own agony over the past nearly 18 years. By writing his book, he hopes to share the brokenness he used as a catalyst to change the course of his outlook on life. Now he's here to share his heartbreaking story and invite you to emerge from suffering into joy through family, community, and God. Romans 15:13 NIV May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hope is always forward focused. That's one reason I think it is so important to highlight unsolved cases like Jennifer's. We can't change what's happened, but we can hold onto the hope that someday soon there will be answers for her family. In the meantime, Bill learned how to still have joy and peace in the time of hopeful waiting. Is someone that you know in a period of hopeful waiting, whether it's for answers, or healing, or the return of a prodigal. Share Bill's story with them so they can be encouraged. And of course, as always, share this episode with your Florida friends, and ask them to share it as well. Someone out there knows what happened to Jennifer, and it's time for her family to know as well. Let me know what you think about this episode! Episode 84 Jennifer Kesse 24 year old Jennifer Kesse vanished in Orlando, Florida on January 24th ,2006. People that knew Jennifer best, right away were concerned, because Jennifer was an organized professional who would never go off on a whim. Her car, a black 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was missing from it's parking spot in front of her condo in the up and coming Mosaic at Millenia condo complex. On January 26th, after seeing the news of Jennifer's disappearance on the news, someone called in a tip that her car could be found at the Huntington on the Green Condominiums, about a mile from her home. Police went to the scene and verified that her car was indeed parked at the seedy Huntington on the Green Condominiums, about a mile from her home, but there was no sign of Jennifer. Police caught a break when they reviewed grainy surveillance photos of the car being parked there, and they were shocked to see that Jennifer was not the person who exited the vehicle. Instead, they could see that a slim person, possibly a male standing between 5ft3 and 5ft5 had parked the card and left on foot. Unfortuately, a fence in the surveillance photos obstructed the view of the driver's face. Dogs tracked the scent from Jennifer's car right back to her condo development leading to suspisions that the person who likely abducted her had walked back to Jennifer's condo complex, and perhaps had reason to be there. It came to light that Jennifer had been wary of some men who were working at her condo complex in the days before she vanished. Police tried to investigate some of those men, but ran into hurdles when they found that the company that employed them did not keep proper records, sometimes paid under the table, and often hired people that were in the country illegally. One tip led to a man named Chino who had worked at the apartment complex. While he may have had information about what happened to Jennifer, he reportedly cooperated with investigators. Jennifer's case eventually went cold but became a popular one in the media and on online discussion forums. Jennifer's family, feeling that things were at a standstill and feeling underwhelmed by the investigation, sued the Orlando PD in order to obtain case files and have the case re-investigated by another agency. It's unclear exactly what clues there are to go in, but reportedly, there was evidence that there may have been a struggle on the hood of Jennifer's car, and DNA may have been recovered. As of today, it's unclear how much progress is being made if any in Jennifer's case, and no sign of Jennifer herself has ever been found. In this episode, Jennifer's uncle Bill Gilmour, who wrote a book about the case and aftermath, is the guest in this episode, and shares his and the rest of Jennifer's family's insights. When she vanished, Jennifer was described as being 5ft8, 135 lbs, and having Green eyes and sandy blonder hair. She had a shamrock tattoo on her left hip. But when she never made it in to work that day, and wasn't answering her phone, her family and boyfriend grew concerned. When investigators located her car parked down the street, they saw an unknown person on surveillance footage emerging from the car and walking away. This is the story of Jennifer Kesse. In this week's episode, Zoey covers the unsolved disappearance of Jennifer Kesse, a 24 year old woman who went missing from her condo in January 2006. Jennifer, who was known for always being in touch with loved ones, was reported missing on January 24th, 2005 around 3 pm after no one had heard from her since the previous night. However, because she was an adult, police assumed that she just got in a fight with her boyfriend and left.Eventually the Kesse family was able to convince the police to search for her, but they did too little, too late. Despite numerous leads coming in constantly, all of the paths of investigation lead to a dead end. But that hasn't stopped Drew and Joyce Kesse, her parents. They are working to this day to try to find their daughter and even announced that they had a promising lead in January 2023.You can find more information and photos of Jennifer at www.jenniferkesse.com including the tip line if you have any information. Keeping the case alive is an expensive process, so her parents are accepting donations at www.gofundme.com/help-us-find-jennifer-kesse. She is 5'8”, 125 lbs with Blonde hair and green eyes. She has a shamrock tattoo on her lower back, a birth mark on her left middle finger on the second joint down, a strawberry birthmark on her rib, and surgical scars on the inside of her left elbow. She was 24 when she went missing but would be 41 today.Sources: https://hauntedhospitality.wordpress.com/2023/03/28/ep-104-the-ongoing-search-for-jennifer-kesse/Visit us on Social Media! Stay Spooky!
Orlando, Florida - Home of Mickey Mouse and sunny beach vacations, a city that 60 million people flock to every year whether it's for the theme parks or just the sun and heat that South Florida is known for. But for the friends and family of 24 year old Jennifer Kesse, this city would become a symbol of all that was wrong and evil in the world. Jennifer was last seen on January 23rd, 2006, she spoke to her family and her boyfriend on the phone that evening and said she was going to bed, she was tired from a trip she had just home from. But the next day, when she didn't show up for work, her parents traveled to her Orlando condo and found everything normal, as if she had woken up and planned to go to work that day. There was still water in the shower, clothes tossed on an unmade bed, and a wet towel in the laundry room. Days later, Jennifer's 2004 black Chevy Malibu would be found abandoned a mile down the road, in a not so great part of town, but the car held no clues as to where Jennifer Kesse was either. The one clue that law enforcement was able to retrieve should have cracked the case wide open. It was surveillance video of a person parking Jennifer's car and walking away from it without even a glance back, and the surveillance clicked a photo of this person every three seconds, and every three seconds this person's face was obscured by a tall wrought iron fence. To this day, Jennifer Kesse has not been found, dead or alive, and the people who love her have fought tirelessly for answers, a fight that included receiving over 16 thousand pages of police records on the investigation, and these pages held more clues which has only fed the fire of this mystery. Jennifer Kesse was a successful young businesswoman making a life for herself in Orlando, Florida. After what appeared to be a typical morning of getting ready for her job on January 24th, 2006, Jennifer would vanish before getting to work. It would be a few days before her vehicle would be found, but it left clues for her family or investigators. Even after police could obtain CCTV of the individual parking Jennifer's car and walking away in broad daylight, they were no closer to finding Jennifer. While numerous persons of interest have emerged over the years, no arrests have been made. The Kesse family has continuously pursued answers for what happened to their daughter, sister, and loved one. When Jennifer Kesse didn't show up for work, everyone who knew the 24-year-old recognized there was trouble. Kesse was a responsible, habitual person. She talked to her family regularly. She called her boyfriend every morning on the way to work, and she never missed work, most certainly not without letting her boss know if she needed to be off. Not only was Jennifer missing, but so was her car. It's found two days later, parked in an apartment complex over a mile from her home and wiped clean. Jennifer Kesse has not been seen since 2006. Now her uncle, Bill Gilmour, describes the restless nights since then and his emotional journey to find peace, in a new book "Aftermath of Jennifer Kesse's Abduction: An Uncle's Inspiring Journey and Other Stories of Hope." PARTNERS IN TRUE CRIME: WHO KILLED MOLLY MILLER AND COLT HAYNES?
Molly and Colt's families are not alone in their struggle to find answers about their missing loved ones. In 2006, Jennifer Kesse disappeared from her apartment in Orlando, Florida and for the past 16 years her parents have been struggling to find answers. We produced a documentary about Jennifer's story for the Oxygen network around the same time we did Molly and Colt's story and we were shocked at the similarities faced by both families. Today, we are thrilled to have Jennifer Kesse's father Drew Kesse as our guest. Through Mr. Kesse's heartbreaking experience, he offers support to the families of Molly and Colt. Drew also illustrates different strategies for maneuvering the politics and media when a loved one goes missing. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Jennifer Kesse went missing January 24, 2006 from Orlando Florida and through out all these years no one has heard from her nor has any clue what happened to her. Her car was found 2 days later about 1 mile away from her condo and CCTV did record a person walking away from her car but no one is able to tell if that person is a male or female and that person has never come forward. Join me and listen while Rachelle works through this case, I promise what she gets from Jennifer is not what a lot of people are saying happened so it gets very interesting. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/psychicsleuth/support
