Visuals: https://getbehindthebillboard.com/episode-111-btb-x-woo-conference-part-2 Recorded live at the WOO Congress 2026 in London just a fortnight ago, this is the second of our special Behind the Billboard episodes - and this time we're on the Global OOH, Innovation & Creativity track. Hugh and Dan….. Well…. Mainly Dan as Hugh had run away to catch a train…. grab short, sharp conversations with a stellar line-up of out-of-home leaders from around the world: Elizabeth McIntyre, CEO of OMA Australia; Ben Milne, CEO APAC at Billups; Nick Bell, UK MD at Billups; Jaime Byrdak, CEO North America at Billups; Jay Young, MD of Grand Visual; Sarah Parkes, Managing Partner, International at Talon; Danielle Austin of Evolve OOH; James Harrison from MPN part of Dubai Holdings; and Simon Wall, CEO of Glynt Group in South Africa. Phew… what a list… what a monster session. Across the episode we explore where OOH is heading now: smarter creative, better data, creative mapping, AI, sustainable infrastructure, mobile media, and the enduring power of a brilliantly simple poster in the right place. There are stories behind work for Google Maps, RNLI's Float To Live, Nike Running and the NYC Marathon, Selleys, Jolt, Out There, Ad Free Zones, IFS.ai and Tractor Media's school-powering billboards. It's a fast-moving global tour of the medium we love: from Australia to Dubai, South Africa to North America, and back to the streets of London. Along the way, our guests pick their favourite billboards, share what excites them about the future, and remind us that when out-of-home is at its best, it's public, useful, unmissable and impossible to ignore. In true Behind the Billboard style, there are a few rabbit holes, plenty of billboard nerdery, and a healthy amount of love for the people pushing the medium forward. Thanks to WOO for having us, to all our brilliant guests for giving up their time in the middle of congress chaos, and to everyone who still believes the humble billboard has plenty of magic left in it. Thanks again to our usual suspects and supporters, and for this one especially the team at WOO.

Visuals: https://getbehindthebillboard.com/episode-109-ben-billups Episode #109 features Ben Billups, founder and CEO of Billups, the largest independent out-of-home specialist agency in the US. We've wanted to get Ben on the show for a long time and finally managed to pin him down while he was in London. Ben founded Billups back in 2003 and has since grown it into a global business spanning 23 countries and nearly 500 people. But beyond the scale, what fascinated us was hearing how someone on the media and planning side thinks about creativity, craft and the future of OOH. We kicked off with Ben's first billboard ever — an eBay x Hawaiian Airlines campaign — and the feeling of seeing work live out in the wild for the first time. Then onto the big stuff. First up, Jordan Brand's incredible Prudential Tower Jumpman takeover in Chicago. A huge projection piece that turned the skyline into a basketball icon and showed what happens when ambition meets scale. Next came one of our favourite campaign titles ever: e.l.f. Beauty's “So Many Dicks, So Few Everyone Else.” Ben talked us through how the work hijacked finance bro culture with sharp copy, smart placement and brilliant timing. We also discussed Nike's reactive Dodgers World Series work, created in real time as LA celebrated victory - a wonderful tactical stunt that made headlines across the globe. And then came perhaps the most topical story of the lot — Decathlon's activation inspired by the global Microsoft outage and the infamous “Blue Screen of Death.” A perfect example of how quickly modern OOH can react to culture. Along the way we chatted about entrepreneurship, building a company culture, why sport teaches you almost everything about leadership, and why the best out-of-home work still starts with a simple human truth. Thanks Ben for coming on the show. We loved hearing the stories behind the scale. Thanks also to Jon for the edit, Adrian and all the gang at Soho Radio and of course huge gratitude to all our sponsors, who make the show possible: Bauer Media Outdoor View2Fill Super Optimal GAS Music

The new year began with a successful U.S. military operation to capture Venezuela's president. But the mission killed approximately 80 people and is being condemned by some American and international leaders as illegal. Esau McCaulley joins Phil and Skye this week to discuss the fallout from the operation. Was it legal? Was it moral? And what does it reveal about Trump's vision of America? Kaitlyn talks with author Sara Billups about her new book, "Nervous System," and how our age of anxiety is affecting Christians and the whole church. Also this week—the Trump administration celebrated the holidays with Christian memes, festive taunts, and "Ice Ice Baby." Sara Billups (type 4, 4-5 pairing), author of "Nervous Systems: Spiritual Practices to Calm Anxiety in Your Body, the Church, and Politics," joins us for a conversation about anxiety that's especially needed as we head into Christmas. Sara explores how anxiety manifests in three interconnected ways, and how couples who are in the sandwich generation (Millennial, Gen X especially) navigate personal anxiety, church disillusionment, and political division all at once as their nervous systems rise up in anxiety. Drawing from her experience caregiving for aging ill parents while parenting teens with their own anxiety along with her own anxiety, Sara offers wisdom for couples in the sandwich generation stretched thin caring for multiple generations while trying to protect their marriage. She also unpacks scrupulosity and how being trained to pursue "being good" is often far from healthy holiness, especially for those raised evangelical, and how this performance anxiety shows up in marriage. Sara's prescription for anxiety is holy indifference, the Ignatian concept of open-handedness toward both blessings and trials, not as giving up but as giving into the Spirit, and what this looks like practically when anxious about outcomes or when life isn't going as hoped. Rather than offering prescriptive how-to lists, Sara offered a soothing balm for anxious hearts heading into holiday chaos. Find "Nervous Systems" wherever books are sold. Watch on YouTube, too! It's a bit of a cliché to say that we live in uncertain times. Just look at the headlines. Relationships — from the global to the intimate — are fraying. We swim in waters full of fear and worry, contempt and disdain. Anxiety abounds. That's why today's guest — writer and cultural commentator, Sara Billups — has written a new book. It's called “Nervous Systems: Spiritual Practices to Calm Anxiety in Your Body, the Church and Politics.” It's out now and — spoiler alert — Billups writes quite a bit about Ignatian spirituality. She looks to Ignatius' all-important idea of holy indifference as a way of approaching the anxiety-inducing moment in which we all find ourselves. You may recall that when Ignatius says “indifference,” he's not promoting a lifestyle that is apathetic or callous to the signs of the times. Rather, Ignatius wants us to let go of how we want things to go and to instead allow God's Spirit to use us as they Spirit wills. In short, God's ways are not our ways; so, let's put aside our preferences and discover God's. In addition to this new book, “Nervous Systems,” Billups has bylines in the New York Times and Christianity Today. She completed a Doctor of Ministry in the Sacred Art of Writing at Peterson Cetner for the Christian Imagination at Western Theological Seminary. She writes a Substack called “Bitter Scroll” and hosts a podcast called “That's the Spirit.” You can learn more about Sara and her work by exploring the links below. Last Thursday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced it had made arrests in a pair of investigations into illegal gambling involving National Basketball Association (NBA) players and coaches. Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is among those charged in the illegal sports betting case, while Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups and several others are charged with participating in rigged poker games with ties to the mafia. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the bureau has arrested 34 people as a result of the multi-year investigations, which covered 11 states and involved tens of millions of dollars. Billups and Rozier have been placed on leaves from their teams, and the NBA announced a review of its gambling rules.Ad-free podcasts are here!To listen to this podcast ad-free, and to enjoy our subscriber only premium content, go to ReadTangle.com to sign up!I actually met them.Last year, the podcasts Question Everything and This American Lifedid a feature on the work we do here at Tangle. On this episode of Conduct Detrimental: THE Sports Law Podcast, Dan Lust (@SportsLawLust) is joined by Tarun Sharma (@tksharmalaw) to break down the only story anyone's talking about this week: the NBA's twin gambling scandals...including what they mean for the league, its leadership, and the future of sports integrity.Dan and Tarun talk the FBI's dual indictments involving current NBA players and coaches, including Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups, and why the feds may have intentionally linked the “inside betting” and “mob poker” operations to send a message directly to the league. The duo unpacks the alleged role of organized crime, how player data triggered suspicious betting alerts, and why the NBA's initial decision to “clear” Rozier may come back to haunt Commissioner Adam Silver. They revisit the echoes of the Tim Donaghy scandal and debate whether this could force a true reckoning on gambling oversight in pro sports. Plus, Dan argues that this moment may finally be the “truth serum” that leagues can't sweep under the rug. Then, the duo touch on the NCAA's last-minute reversal of its new betting policy allowing college athletes to wager on pro sports—spurred by the timing of the NBA's scandals and pushback from SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. They discuss how NIL-era agents and crossover access to information could further complicate things for both college and pro leagues. To close, Dan drops his “bet of the week,” explaining why Justin Herbert at +3500 for NFL MVP might be the most mispriced line on the board. What to Watch For: Tarun highlights LSU's multi-million-dollar Brian Kelly buyout and how skyrocketing coaching payouts are driving private equity interest in college athletics. Elias and Fuad are back for another edition of 3 in the Key! The fellas discuss the crazy first week in the NBA which included a 50 point game, multiple 40 point games and an FBI investigation.
Federal authorities allege that the ring busted for running illegal sports and card-games used highly advanced and coordinated cheating technology. In the poker portion of the scheme, underground high-stakes games were manipulated using rigged shuffling machines that secretly read the deck's cards and transmitted which players held strong hands to an off-site operator, who then signaled a co-conspirator at the table (called the “quarterback” or “driver”) to direct bets accordingly. Devices included poker tables equipped with hidden X-ray cameras beneath the felt to identify face-down cards, chip trays with built-in analyzers/cameras, decoy cellphones to relay information, and decks marked so that only accomplices wearing special lenses or glasses could see the marks. In the sports-betting arm of the investigation, insiders harvested and sold non-public information about professional basketball players' injuries, playing time, and game-day decisions. Players or coaches allegedly tipped off conspirators to when they would sit out or exit early due to an injury, creating prop-bet opportunities. Wagers were placed accordingly on unders or player performance outcomes, using insider info to create a virtually guaranteed edge. The two schemes overlapped, involving organized-crime networks, professional athletes, and complex laundering of ill-gotten proceeds.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:How mafiosi and NBA stars used rigged card shufflers, X-ray tables and secret contact lenses in poker scamBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation wrapped up a massive federal investigation on October 23 2025 that took down 30+ people across 11 states for illegal gambling and sports-betting schemes. One major case, dubbed “Operation Royal Flush,” involved rigged high-stakes poker games backed by Mafia families—complete with manipulated shuffling machines, even X-ray tables to cheat players. Billups, head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, was arrested in Oregon for participating in one of the rigged games; prosecutors say he acted as a “face card” to lure bettors and was paid to attend games he knew were fixed. In a related but separate probe, the FBI also charged players and coaches for using inside information from NBA teams to place bets. For example, Terry Rozier of the Miami Heat was accused of providing confidential team info so that bets could be placed advantageously. Billups wasn't charged for this insider betting part, but he is facing serious wire-fraud and money-laundering charges for the poker ring.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
The pro athletes and coaches who get busted for gambling are the dumbest people on earth.Former NBA players Chauncey Billups — currently the Portland Trail Blazers' head coach — and Damon Jones were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit both wire fraud and money laundering after allegedly participating in rigged poker games.Billups and Jones were allegedly dubbed as "face cards" which, the indictment says, were "members of the Cheating Teams and received a portion of the criminal proceeds in exchange for their participation in the scheme." The scheme resulted in the victims losing at least $7.15 million, dating back to April 2019, according to the Department of Justice."Billups and Jones, in particular… were utilized to attract victims to the games because of their status as former professional athletes," the DOJ said.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
