EP147: My guest this week is Jill Sherer Murray. Jill is an award-winning author, journalist, marketing, and communications expert, TEDx speaker, and founder of “Let Go For It,” a lifestyle brand aimed at improving people's situation through the simple mantra of letting go. In her TEDx Talk, “The Unstoppable Power of Letting Go” that has million views on YouTube, she shares her own difficult journey of letting go to successfully move forward. That experience led her to write her best-selling book, Big Wild Love: The Unstoppable Power of Letting Go for the many people who reached out to her from all over the world for advice and inspiration after watching her TEDx Talk. Jill studied improvisational comedy at the famous Second City Training Center in Chicago, wrote a popular blog called “Diary of a Writer in Mid-Life Crisis” for the former Wild River Review magazine, and let go of just about everything to be written about in Shape Magazine—12 times—as part of a year-long assignment to document her weight loss journey for readers. She's been featured on dozens of podcasts and in Reader's Digest, Bustle, Brit + Co, Travel & Leisure, Women's World, Thrive Global, Psychology Today, MSN.com, Happify Daily, Kintsugi, Josh Talks, TEDx, Moonshot Conversations, and more. Her life goal is to show people that if they're stuck, holding on to what they do NOT want, is not where they need to stay. They don't need another person to create forward motion--or permission. They just need to choose to let go and know they have everything they need inside of them RIGHT NOW to have the life they desire! Whether talking about love or work or whatever, Jill finds just talking about using letting go as a tool for creating change--and not just in conceptual terms, but in practical terms---inspires people to take action. Leaving a long term relationship can be terrifying. You might question whether it’s the right decision, find yourself betting on how much longer you can last in it, or questioning who exactly you are without that person around anymore. This process can be time-consuming and laborious, but Jill Sherer Murray teaches us that while it is at times a terrifying, heart-wrenching process, the reward of knowing that you can be happy no matter what will always be worth it. In this episode of the Divorce Doctor Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with award-winning author and journalist, TEDx speaker, and founder of “Let Go For It,” Jill Sherer Murray. Jill works through her brand “Let Go For It” to help women let go of whatever’s holding them back so they can live the life they’ve deserved all along. In our discussion, Jill and I discuss the ordeal of trusting yourself enough to let go of relationships that are holding you back. We also discuss the importance of choosing yourself, and why it shouldn’t be considered a selfish or inconsiderate act!

One of the symptoms are not having any idea on what they want and being holistically happy 05:01 - Holding on to what they don't want because they think it's the best that they can get: one of the common mistakes business leaders make before deciding to let go 08:25 - One free and actionable tip you can do to address the challenge of letting go and being stuck: think about a place where you're stuck, grab a notebook, and for 10 minutes, complete the sentence as many times as you can 09:50 - One valuable resource to help you let go and understand where you are right now: Jill's Six-Step Process for Letting Go. Visit: https://letgoforit.com/six-steps-to-letting-go/ 11:19 - Q: How do I know when it's time to let go, and how can I be sure that it's time to let go? A: If the gap between what they say they want and what they currently have is far apart, then it's time to examine what they believe about themselves, the kind of choices that they're making, and what they need to do to get from point A to point B. Key Takeaways: We, as women, are meant to nurture, take care and be emotional and think holistically. We're not taught to go out and take risks, like the men who are hunters and gatherers, and they're going out into the wild. It's all about taking a chance to get that- to hunt and gather. So we're just wired differently, and safety is really big, and it can really be in our way.” - Jill Sherer Murray “I would say think about a place where you're stuck and grab a notebook and then set a timer for 10 minutes and complete the sentence as many times as you can. When it comes to blank, "I believe I 'blank'" and I tell people, you know, you can do this once for 10 minutes, you can do it every day for a week, but the 10 minutes is all about, turn on the timer, keep your hands moving, don't stop to think because the goal is not to censor yourself. You're looking to get way down, I wish I could make you see me, to get into the subconscious parts of yourself that you're not accessing or that you don't even realize is happening, and to understand what it is you actually believe is possible for you.” - Jill Sherer Murray “As much as people don't know what they want, I also think they don't know what they believe or take the time to look at their beliefs.” - Jill Sherer Murray “I'm in human resources, even though I really want to be a dancer but I know this is a safer option. It really comes down to safety. It's all about safety. They're prioritizing safety, overtaking a chance, and pushing forward to take a chance on themselves, to see that big- so they can get what they really want, but if they don't name what they want, they can't know what that is, and that's where there's a lot of safety, too.” - Jill Sherer Murray Ways to Connect with Jill Sherer Murray: Website: https://letgoforit.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/letgoforit Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/letgoforit/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jillsherermurray/ Ways to Connect with Sarah E. Have you ever felt stuck in life and can’t quite figure out how to move forward? Or maybe you keep finding yourself in the same situations that just don’t serve you well? Despite trying all sorts to fix the problems, you can’t seem to find a solution. But perhaps, it’s time to look inwards and let go of limiting beliefs that are stopping you from living a life you love. Self-growth is uncomfortable. Oh boy, it's really uncomfortable. So, maybe that’s the reason that we are so quick to judge our external circumstances and label them as the culprit for our unhappiness. In truth, our reality is often directly related to our own sense of self-worth and what we believe we deserve, or the fears we have about changing that reality. Jill Sherer Murray, author of Big Wild Love - the Unstoppable Power of Letting Go says that… “We are always bringing people into our lives that reflect our beliefs about ourselves”. Whether you are in a relationship that isn’t right for you, a job that doesn’t fulfill you, or are simply not chasing your dreams, your crisis of esteem is often the root of the problem. Rather than finger-pointing, take time to ask yourself the difficult questions and figure out if your limiting beliefs are derailing your life and stopping you from having the things you want. As you get older, and your life changes, so do your desires, goals, and means of achieving them. And that’s OK. Change is OK. So show yourself some Big Wild Love and let go of the beliefs that are holding you back. Let go of the situations that are not filling you with incredible joy. Let go of the fear that controls you. You deserve the things you want in life, and they are available to you if you believe they are. Dive into this week’s episode with us to let go to become unstoppable. When we leave something, whether it’s a place, a job, or a relationship, we aren’t just closing a chapter. We’re leaving a dream, an identity, and an enormous component of ourselves. But here’s the thing, leaving isn’t the same as letting go. People can leave a bad marriage and still cling to it mentally and emotionally. True healing happens when we have the courage to completely release the past, and listen to that inner truth that tells us we’re meant for better. The journey to letting go isn’t easy, but it is one worth taking. Once we leave our past in the rearview, and stop looking back at it, we can fully step into that new chapter and experience the gift divorce can be. How do we examine ourselves and determine what our inner voice is trying to tell us? What does moving on actually look like? In this episode, I’m joined by Jill Sherer Murray. She is a TEDx speaker, influencer, and author of the brilliant book, Big Wild Love: The Unstoppable Power of Letting Go. We discuss how to let go, especially after the end of a marriage, and what we can look forward to when we release the past. When you do hard things, it’s only natural to have moments of regret and moments of questioning. You’re in deep dark denial if you never have those moments. -Jill Sherer Murray 3 Things You’ll Love About This Episode Why we struggle to let go: As human beings, every choice we make comes down to safety and avoiding perceived danger. Even when a relationship is bad for us, we get used to it and it gives us safety. Leaving that situation and letting go feels like a loss of safety, and that’s what makes letting go so difficult. It’s natural to have those moments of fear and doubt, even when letting go is the right thing. How to own the power we have when we let go: The fear of letting go stems from a fear of the unknown. When we leave something familiar that we’ve known a long time, it’s like jumping off a cliff thinking we don’t have a safety net. Instead of waiting for external safety, we have to trust that we’re strong enough to be our own safety net and catch ourselves. The process of overcoming limiting beliefs: Limiting beliefs are a sign that we fully haven’t let go of something in our past. Before we can dispel them, we have to become aware of them. Once we know them, we can revise and eliminate them so that our beliefs start working for us, not against us. We can turn limiting beliefs into epiphanies by becoming woke to ourselves. CTW S2E05 - Letting Go, with Jill Sherer Murray Whether it’s in her career or relationships, Jill Sherer Murray traces her successes in life to letting go. In her 40s, Jill ended a 12-year dead-end relationship after having an epiphany about getting stuck in life. She shares this epiphany in her TEDx talk The Unstoppable Power of Letting Go. In response to the millions of people who viewed her TEDx talk, Jill founded Let Go For It, a lifestyle brand designed to help people and organizations realize success in both business and personal life. Her book, Big Wild Love: the Unstoppable Power of Letting Go, embodies her desire to help people let go of what’s holding them back and achieve the life they truly want. Jill joins me today to discuss the unstoppable power of letting go. She shares the 12-year relationship that gave her an epiphany on how letting go can change our lives for the better. She reveals the number one reason we get stuck in life and the steps to letting go. We also discuss the benefits of writing down your life goals and confronting your fears as well as how letting go of the things that no longer serve us prepares us for life’s ultimate surrender. “It’s time for people to understand we’re not here forever. If we’re wasting life holding on to things that aren’t serving us, then we have to let go.” - Jill Sherer Murray This week on Coffee Table Wisdom: Jill ’s 12-year-long relationship that inspired the Unstoppable Power of Letting Go How a lack of self-love prevents us from achieving the life we want Jill’s steps for letting go of the things that no longer serve us The limiting belief that stopped Jill from leaving a dead-end relationship The benefits of understanding our limiting beliefs The importance of writing down a life plan How the practice of letting go prepares us for life’s ultimate surrender How letting go is an act of reclaiming your true self Connect with Jill Sherer Murray: Let Go For It Jill Sherer Murray on Twitter Jill Sherer Murray on Facebook Jill Sherer Murray on Instagram Jill Sherer Murray on YouTube Jill Sherer Murray on LinkedIn Email: jill@letgoforit.com Resources Mentioned: TEDxWilmingtonWomen: The Unstoppable Power of Letting Go | Jill Sherer Murray Join the Revolution! “Let it go.” It’s a piece of advice many of us have heard often, and one that’s well worth heeding – especially when we find ourselves languishing in dead-end relationships or struggling with the loneliness of singlehood when we’d rather find someone to share our hearts and our lives.
We have all kinds of relationships: business, romantic, friendship. Would you ever think that your gut can be affected by your experience with others? I'm here to tell you that it can. Consider the experience of one of my clients, who was reluctant to meet with a woman his friends thought would be a good match for him. He had so much anxiety over the date and meeting her expectations, that he wound up getting gout as a result of all that stress. When he cancelled the date, within 36 hours his gout went away...all by itself! Which shows how connected our physical body is to our emotional body. The good news is there are techniques available to help you cope with life's pressures and get through whatever is stressing you in the moment. Your gut plays a very big role here. It works like this: Our brain produces a chemical that alerts our senses to input. Depending on what that input is, the responding emotion could be joy, anxiety, or simply a feeling of neutrality. If this emotion is stress, our adrenal glands produce a stress hormone called cortisol. Excessive production of cortisol can lead to adrenal fatigue syndrome, producing things like belly fat, brain fog, and sometimes worse. It all lands in your gut. If you are under stress, I'd love to talk to you about how we can work together to improve your gut health so you can not only feel physically better, but make the important mindshifts necessary to stay that way. To combat stress before it impacts your physical health and help you have better, calmer, more peaceful relationships with others. Click here to schedule a complementary session with me. Which brings me to my guest for this episode of the podcast. Jill Sherer Murray specializes in helping people let go of what's keeping them stuck and where they just don't want to be. Her TEDx talk called “The Unstoppable Power of Letting Go” has been viewed by almost 1.5 million people. (You can watch it and learn more about her at www.letgoforit.com.) We had a powerful conversation about how she let go of a long-term relationship that was sending her down the path of adrenal fatigue, which leads to weight gain, brain fog, interrupted sleep, increased anxiety and more. She explains the connection between the importance of letting go and the gut, good health, love, and more. You'll really want to hear this episode! Once you've listened, I'd love to know what you think. Please reach out to me so we can set up a complimentary call to discuss where you are and how we can work together to support you in managing the stressful relationships in your life without it affecting your health. We love hearing your feedback. Send us a reply and let us know what you thought of the episode! P.S. So excited that my book, the Health, Wealth, and Happiness Journal, is now on Amazon! I am so grateful to be able to share this book with you. I hope you enjoy it. Much Love, Diana.

ส่งคำถามหาเราสมัครเรียน/ติดตามสาระดีๆคอร์สออนไลน์ meisanmui / illustcourse/ Facebook /Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/Tapas/TiktokillustPOD/Deviantart/PATREON/Webtoon --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/meisan/message
