Jo Hausman, author of Go For It! A Woman's Guide to Perseverance shares her personal memoir, which also has a business twist to it. Hausman first started this book as a chronicling of her late husband's death due to a terminal illness but it turned into a book on how she found herself and her inner energy to keep going and how writing this book really changed her life. She talked about how she has accomplished things since his passing that were things she thought they would accomplish together but she was able to do it on her own. This week Jo Hausman interviews the extraordinary Paul Hopfensperger! He achieved his lifelong goals of becoming the 873rd person in history to swim the English Channel! And in 2008 he did it again to become only the 84th person in history to do it twice! That takes guts and perseverance! Then In the same year, he became the oldest known person to represent Great Britain at swimming when he competed in two FINA World Cup Open Water Grand Prix swims in Serbia and Mexico respectively. Then is 2010, he completed his third crossing of the English Channel as part of a six person relay team. Paul will talk to us about how he did these magnificent feats and what kept him going through the training and the actual events. She turned to alcohol after several other scares in her life. Delaine will share with us how she first realized she was an alcoholic (thanks her to husband and a good friend Judy), the next steps she did to get sober.
