We're a litte late in getting this out this week, but that might be a good thing. This was recorded before the Calgary and Edmonton debacles. We were still riding the high of the winning streak that carried us through the top teams of the Western Conference. These games went 4-0, with goals from the usual suspects like Ryan Reaves and Patrik Berglund. Also, there was a disturbing trend that we've noticed before on the show - blown leads. There's the re-signing of Carl Gunnarsson and the return of Jori Lehtera from injury. We condemn the only player in the NHL that could compete with Shaw for general fuckholery, celebrate the conclusion of the CWHL and NWHL seasons, and rise to the defence of Dmitrij Jaskin. All that, and some other capital-H Hockey.

We are officially at the halfway mark of the regular season, and the 46th episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast is designed to help you make sure you're in midseason form.Elan and Brian take you through the biggest fantasy news of the week, leading off with our take on whether David Perron will prosper in his new Pittsburgh home, and which Penguins will feel the effects of his arrival on the depth chart. Injuries and outjuries in Chicago, Toronto, and St. Louis also get coverage, as well as a detailed outline of the rough road ahead for Toronto and the inevitable regression of a very fast starter in St. Louis. Also, Paul Stastny's doing stuff! We then move onto goalies, where Brian opens up about the soul-searching that's led him to consider (re-)adding a goalie to our top tier, and recommends a surging 'tender who's waking up from a season-long slump.Elan brings back last season's ever-popular Sustainable or Fleeting game, where he and Brian run down several hot hands and work through the evidence to decide whether they'll keep cracking or flame out. The segment includes a suprising new d-man in Columbus, a we-should've-known forward in LA, an actual Flame, an efficient Red Wing, and a Keeping Karlsson favourite in (of course) Winnipeg. We also quickly run through three players who suddenly find themselves in fortunate positions on their team's top lines, and discuss who's likely to make the most of their opportunity. The episode's penultimate segment is our patented lightning round, featuring a blue chip G prospect, a barely-relevant defenseman, and the NHL's most quietly efficient even-strength goal-scorer. And finally, we close off with a snoozer that Pierre McGuire was wrong about.Players discussed on this episode include David Perron, Evgeni Malkin, Steve Downie, Kris Versteeg, Joffrey Lupul, Teuvo Teravainen, Patrick Sharp, Nazem Kadri, Peter Holland, Jonathan Bernier, Jaden Schwartz, Jori Lehtera, Paul Stastny, Carey Price, Kari Lehtonen, Colton Sceviour, Josh Bailey, Danny Briere, Johnny Gaudreau, Kevin Connauton, Jimmy Hayes, Vincent Lecavalier, Mathieu Perreault, Anze Kopitar, Tomas Tatar, Andrey Vasilevskiy, James van Riemsdyk, Nick Bonino, Jamie McBain, Mike Hoffman, and more.If you enjoy the show, please support us by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson. Keeping Karlsson patrons can join our patron-only Facebook group, take part in (and receive audio from) a monthly live Keeping Karlsson broadcast, and have their fantasy team personally audited by us every month-- learn more about supporting the show here. You can also support us by telling a friend, subscribing to and reviewing Keeping Karlsson on iTunes, and following us on Twitter (@keepingkarlsson). On this episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast, Elan and Brian share some notable trends they've noticed in their fantasy drafts, and help you begin to build your watchlist and make your first FA acquisitions of the 2015-16 seasons. After picking our jaws up off the floor, we go on to try to make sense of Dano's AHL assignment, and consider a multitude of unexpected opportunities presenting themselves in Edmonton and elsewhere around the league due to early injuries. We also openly wonder about the updated fantasy value of one of last year's most surprising starters, an under-the-radar pick from last year who was understandably abandoned by most of his owners, a young Canuck on somewhat of an island, and a couple new names making impressions on preseason scoresheets.Players discussed on this episode include Marko Dano, Artemi Panarin, Andrew Shaw, Jordan Eberle, Anton Slepyshev, TJ Brodie, Dougie Hamilton, Zach Bogosian, Cody Franson, Andrew Hammond, Craig Anderson, Matt O'Connor, Kyle Baun, Andreas Athanasiou, Bo Horvat, Jori Lehtera, Patrick Maroon, Leon Draisatl, Anton Lander, Nail Yakupov, Brad Richards, Dennis Wideman, Kris Russell, Justin Abdelkader and more.* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! If you enjoy the show, please support future episodes by becoming a patron of Keeping Karlsson. Keeping Karlsson patrons can join our patron-only Facebook group and take part in (and receive audio from) a monthly live, face-to-face and interactive Keeping Karlsson recording! You can also support us by telling a friend, subscribing to and reviewing Keeping Karlsson on iTunes, and following us on Twitter (@keepingkarlsson). While Elan is off doing god knows what in Vegas, Brian takes the reins on this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast.Brian isn't going at it alone, though-- Hockey PDOcast's Dimitri Filipovic steps in to guest host as we fly through this week's most pertinent poolie particulars. We look at an unusually high volume in changes to top lines across the NHL, including those in Columbus, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, Chicago, Long Island, Dallas and Florida, as well as the newest opportunities available to some hungry up-and-comers that might just be ready to start producing. We also compare the production of the players on two of the hottest lines in the league-- these guys are not only putting up points, but they're doing it while wearing NHL crests long associated with scoring scarcity and boring hockey (though that reputation may be proving harder to shake for one particular locale).Players discussed on this episode include Nick Bjugstad, Brent Seabrook, Adam Henrique, Pascal Dupuis, James Neal, Lee Stempniak, Trevor van Riemsdyk, Dmitri Jaskin, Jori Lehtera, Mattias Janmark, Mike Cammalleri, Erik Karlsson, Colton Parayko, Duncan Keith, Alex Barkov, Jaromir Jagr, Jaden Schwartz, Mike Green, Brendan Smith, Niklas Kronwall, Evander Kane, Matt Moulson, Johan Larsson, Teemu Pulkkinen, Paul Stastny, David Backes, Scotty Upshall, Jonathan Huberdeau, Michael Neuvirth, Steve Mason, Jaroslav Halak, Thomas Greiss, Chris Kunitz, David Perron, Ryan Johansen, Brandon Dubinsky, Radim Vrbata, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Ryan Strome, Kyle Okposo, Matthew Nieto, Joel Ward, Viktor Tikhonov, Antti Raanta, Mike Fisher, Mike Ribeiro, James Neal, Trevor Daley, Andrei Markov, Alex Semin, Jeff Skinner, Patrick Sharp, Max Domi, Tobias Rieder, Anthony Duclair, Sergei Bobrovsky, Craig Anderson and more.Be sure to check out Hockey PDOcast on the web, on iTunes, on soundcloud, and on Patreon! And we highly recommend you follow Dimitri on Twitter @DimFilipovic.* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes! Stuffing: both a delicious part of a Thanksgiving meal, and the act of covering as many players and teams as possible on the latest episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast!Elan and Brian talk turkeys and non-turkeys alike on this edition of the show, with attention paid right off the bat to injuries and flu-like symptoms in the Montreal, Winnipeg and Anaheim creases.A glut of injuries and Outjuries take centre stage throughout the show, as we look to find value in player promotions in Buffalo, Montreal, New York, St. Louis, New Jersey and Edmonton. We also have a look at the curious case of an NHL veteran who is suddenly upping his shooting and goal-scoring numbers to levels not seen since the prime of his career, and another longtime producer who may be finding his game again after a disastrous outing in 2014-15.This episode also includes a look at a few snoozers around the league (one at each position!), a couple depth D streaming options, a number of top producers who deserve kudos for their work so far this season, and a very cringeworthy/barely sensible pun.Players discussed on this episode include: Mike Condon, Alex Galchenyuk, Connor Hellebuyck, Evander Kane, Ryan Strome, John Gibson, Jason Spezza, Thomas Vanek, Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby, Patric Hornqvist, Brandon Pirri, Paul Stastny, David Savard, Colton Parayko, Kevin Shattenkirk, Sam Reinhart, Ryan Johansen, Brandon Saad, Boone Jenner, Jack Johnson, Chris Kreider, JT Miller, Derek Stepan, Justin Schultz, Semyon Varlamov, Brendan Gallagher, Carey Price, Jori Lehtera, Michael Hutchinson, David Backes, Alex Steen, Nail Yakupov, Tyler Ennis, Patrik Elias, Travis Zajac, Lee Stempniak, David Perron, Sidney Crosby, Kris Letang, Cam Fowler, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Brian Elliott, Jake Allen, and more.* * *Download this episode, subscribe, and review us on iTunes!
