In July of 2021, I ran my first challenge as a ministry. It was the Courageous Care 5-day challenge, and it walked women through five obstacles that prevent us from reaching out to those around us who are hurting. What was a challenge became a masterclass, which became a book. And it features the key principle behind what Love Does That is all about: that God has called every one of us to care for those around us who are going through difficult seasons. To walk alongside them. To love them. To support them. Because, as Michael Slater said, “To hurt is bad enough, but to hurt alone destroys people physically, mentally, and spiritually.” Courageous Care is all about discovering how God has designed you to do this, to care for others. And last summer, I had the chance to teach about the CARE framework to a group of pastor's wives. Today, I want to share that opening part of that message with you. And I lovingly and gently ask you, what is stopping you from caring for others? Which of the five obstacles hits closest to home? Take a few minutes to journal about it once the episode is over and see what God might have to say to that.

Former Bad Boy rapper, Travell "G. Dep" Coleman, has recently spoken out following his release from prison, shedding light on his past relationship with Sean "Diddy" Combs and the ongoing investigation into alleged sex trafficking. Coleman, who hails from Harlem, is a former protégé of Combs and has chosen to address the situation surrounding the renowned music mogul. The rapper's comments come amidst a wave of accusations and allegations surrounding Diddy, with many critics pointing out the silence of the black media on this matter. Despite serious accusations involving gang rape, sex trafficking, and child sexual assault, there has been a lack of coverage from media outlets that typically focus on issues affecting the black community. This controversy also draws parallel to the recent court appearance of former Australian cricketer Michael Slater on domestic violence charges. The topic of domestic violence has been at the forefront of public discourse, and this case serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing such issues and holding individuals accountable for their actions.Meanwhile, another high-profile figure facing scrutiny is R&B singer R. Kelly, whose case sheds light on the allegations against Diddy. The Los Angeles Times explores the significance of the R. Kelly case and how it relates to the allegations surrounding Diddy. The investigation into Diddy's potential involvement in sex trafficking has led to raids on his residences, including his mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood. In other news, Kesha, the pop superstar, made headlines at Coachella for changing the lyrics of her hit song "Tik Tok" to include a profane reference to P. Diddy. Though unrelated to the ongoing investigation, this incident shows how Diddy continues to make headlines for various reasons. As the investigation into Diddy's alleged involvement in sex trafficking continues, the public awaits further developments and more coverage from the media. The silence of the black media on this matter has garnered criticism, raising questions about the role of journalism in bringing such issues to light and initiating important conversations.

et early access to The Perfect Health Lesson, and the calculator discussed in today's lesson. Click this link now In today's episode: Sometimes we just need a lesson in 'Self Leadership': Celebrity guest: Australian Cricket Legend Justin Langer. Justin sat down with me and talked about 'success with the Australian Cricket team. He is an example of what we can learn from others and apply it to our health status. Born in Perth, Western Australia, Langer excelled at cricket from an early age, representing Western Australia at under-age level, as well as the Australia under-19 team. He also won a scholarship to the Australian Cricket Academy at the Australian Institute of Sport in 1990. Langer made his first-class debut for Western Australia during the 1991–92 Sheffield Shield, and, after good form at state level, made his Test debut for Australia the following season at the age of 22, during the West Indies' 1992–93 tour. Although maintaining his place in the side, he struggled for form, and only made sporadic appearances for Australia until his selection for Australia's 1998–99 tour of Pakistan, in which he scored his first Test century. Establishing himself at number three in the batting order, Langer maintained this role until the 2001 Ashes series. Having been injured for the first four Tests, he replaced Michael Slater as Matthew Hayden's opening partner for the final Test, and scored a century in Australia's innings win. This was the first of three centuries in consecutive matches that secured Langer's position at the top of the order. Except for injuries, the partnership between Hayden and Langer (with Ricky Ponting moving to Langer's previous position at number three) persisted until Langer's retirement at the conclusion of the 2006–07 Ashes series. Their partnership included a total of 5,655 runs over a period of 113 innings, second only to the partnership between West Indians Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes. Langer's retirement came after several injuries had restricted his batting, including a concussion sustained during Australia's 2005–06 tour of South Africa.
How to calm our anxiety when we're in unexpected situations, and what the path back to normality looks like.
Australia reinvented the game in the late 1990's with three aggressive opening batsmen: Matthew Hayden, Michael Slater and Justin Langer. To compound England's woes, they were followed by greats Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh and adding the coup de grace – Adam Gilchrist, wielding his bat like a Samurai sword. They intimidated England's attack, sending them into submission, then Warne and McGrath cleaned up the batsmen. England barely won a match in six series.Langer and Gilchrist take us inside the Australian dressing room and explain how the ethos they created led to such domination.England's Michael Vaughan reveals how intimidating it was to line-up against this 'invincible' side and how he eventually managed to fight back.

What do we do when we face complex problems that don't have a "do this" or a "do that" written clearly in the bible? In Part 1 we look at the role that Character plays in guiding us toward wisdom and decisions that bring life into our future.
How do you see God?
One of the books that have meant the most to me in this season of caring for others is Becoming a Stretcher Bearer, by Michael Slater. The whole premise of Slater's book is how we can be like the four men who carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus on a mat, digging a hole through the roof, even, to get him to Jesus. We can help carry our friends through their difficult seasons until they are well enough to walk on their own again. But today, we're turning that around and thinking about when we are the one on the stretcher. Because at some point, we all end up there, don't we? Cancer. Depression. Anxiety. Chronic illness. Grief. Homesickness. Job loss. Extended sickness. And so, I want to break this down a little bit and help us figure out this question: If you found yourself on a stretcher—physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, or spiritually—who could help carry you through that season? Kari RESOURCES MENTIONED: Book: Becoming a Stretcher Bearer, by Michael Slater Episode 30: Three Favorite Books About Encouraging One Another Mark 2:1-12 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD GOES SILENT? As an introvert, silence is your strength. You cherish quiet moments. Time alone replenishes your soul like nothing else can. But what happens when God goes silent? When you raise your questions of grief and hurt and doubt—and He doesn't answer? Dear one, what if your very quietness has positioned you to experience the presence of God in a totally new way? What if in these seasons of silence, God is actually speaking to you louder than He has ever spoken to you before? If you ready to press into God in this season of silence, I invite you to fill out the form at lovedoesthat.org/apply. I use a modern-day letter writing style of spiritual direction perfect for Christian women drawn to quiet spaces and written words. Throughout our correspondence, I will compassionately listen to your story, gently ask questions that point you to God, and help you discover personal spiritual practices that invite you to stay close to Him.
