Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! There are just under two weeks to go until the big day! Can you believe that? This week, join Julia, Thom, and Anthony as they discuss the brand new, Hallmark original Christmas movie, "The Nine Kittens of Christmas" - the sequel to "The Nine Lives of Christmas", which they covered on the podcast a few years back! If you remember, they were all fond of that one, but lamented the lack of holiday atmosphere! Does its sequel make up for it? You'll have to listen to find out! Also discussed in this episode: the various Advent activities the elves have been participating in this year in addition to personal stories about the various pets they've had over the years! This is one fun episode you want to be sure not to miss, so settle back with your favorite drink beside your Christmas tree and enjoy! And if you want even more “Tis the Podcast“ content this week, make sure to check your podcast feeds this upcoming Tuesday – December 14th - for Chapter Forty-Five of “Another Christmas Story” entitled “The Christmas Song”, which our very own Thom Crowe will be reading to you, in addition to this upcoming Thursday - December 16th - for Chapter Forty-Six of "Another Christmas Story" entitled "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", which professional author and listener of the show, Nicole Little, will be reading to you! As always, thanks for your love and support, y'all!

7.4 Nine Kittens of Christmas: Break out the catnip! Emily is back solo Hallmark's The Nine Kittens of Christmas (aka Nine Lives of Holidays, which does NOT roll off the tongue). That's right: WE'VE GOT A SEQUEL. AND KITTENS. Also, sour cream. Also, a note to our lovely listeners: due to some family health matters, this will likely be the last Stocking Stuffer of the season. There's a chance we'll resume in a few weeks to tackle a few more merry titles, but unlike Hallmark, life is unpredictable. Hope to be back soon, but until then, listen to those sage old people, be on the lookout for those friendly strange men that might actually be Santa in disguise, toast your empty coffee cup for the world to hear the echo, and keep your ears open for those pubic domain holiday songs (yeah, I did that on purpose).
Mary and Sarah are joined by cat foster mom, Michelle to discuss their views on THE NINE KITTENS OF CHRISTMAS. Cat lovers Zachary and Marilee are thrown back together at Christmas when they're tasked with finding homes for a litter of adorable kittens. Starring Brandon Routh, Kimberley Sustad and Gregory Harrison. Brought to you by Daisy Sour Cream....LOL. Do a dollop of Daisy!

This week, Kayla and I are back reviewing 8 movies. Pray for us as we deal with this #MerryThanksgiving weekend extravaganza. Let's just say we will be breezing through these reviews. In this episode we review Nine Kittens of Christmas starring Kimberley Sustad and Brandon Routh, as well as Christmas CEO starring Paul Greene and Marisol Nichols. Nine Kittens is the long awaited sequel to the 2014 classic Nine Lives of Christmas. We lament about how none of the actors age, laugh at the Superman references, and squeal at the cuteness of the kittens. As animal advocates, we do throw in the cautionary tale of please don't give kittens or puppies as Christmas presents. It should be something everyone involved is certain of. Also love the ending and throw out ideas of what the title of the next sequel could be. Shout out to our main man Paul Campbell for his cameo. (This is literally the weekend of Paul Campbell lol.) Christmas CEO was an ok movie. We talk about Marisol's character's name, the Reindeer Games, how adorable his niece was, and how we feel about the rushed ending. To be honest, neither of these movies really stood out for us especially after eight movies in a three day weekend. November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month. Kayla has epilepsy. If you've watched Hallmark movies in the past five years, you've probably seen several directed by David Winning. The Calgary-born director made a name for himself early in his career for directing fantasy-horror films and shows – everything from Friday the 13th The Series to Are You Afraid of the Dark. He also was at home on sci-fi sets, including Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda and Stargate: Atlantis. In recent years, he's tapped into the lighter side at Hallmark, where he's directed holiday heroines Erin Krakow, Lacey Chabert and Danica McKellar through multiple movies. His latest, “The Nine Kittens of Christmas,” premieres Thanksgiving night (Nov. 25) on Hallmark Channel and Dec. 5 in Canada on W Channel. It stars Brandon Routh, Kimberley Sustad and Gregory Harrison. It is Winning's 20th movie for the Crown Media company. Many of them outdraw shows on the broadcast networks. As someone who has directed everything from vampires and zombies to cute little kitties, why are these Hallmark holiday movies so popular, especially through a pandemic?“In dark times, Hallmark does an excellent job of offering a safe harbour for viewers,” says Winning.
