Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman, marking my 102nd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging thousands of VHS transfers and digital recordings. I open with a complicated correction that involves my having mixed up Rachel Nichols and Elisabeth Harnois, the shows they were involved in, their connections to Joss Whedon productions and also cross connections through "Criminal Minds." This set covers discs 1826 to 1850 in my Classic Collection. For my Fuzzy Feature, from Discs 1849 and 1850, comments on the pilot episode of Matt Nix production "The Good Guys," along with my 12th ever "VideoFuzzy the Video" posted here: https://youtu.be/aT5HIqRBS50 I also traced Cross Connections turning up in this collection for Golden Threads Michael O'Neill and Stephen Weber, plus Tahmon Penniket, William B. Davis, Gary Anthony Williams, Erica Gimpel, Ally Walker, Marion Ross, Chrisotpher Lloyd, Scott Bakula, Fred Willard, Swoosie Kurtz, Allison Janney, Terry O'Quinn, Marilyn Manson, Mitch Pileggi, Jon Waters, Bob Clendinen, Neil Patrick Harris, Molly Shannon, John Michael Higgins, Idina Menzel, Judy Greer, Kelsey Grammer, Saul Rubinek, Rachel York, Brent Sexton, Kevin "Repo" Thomas, M.C. Gainey, Kate Vernon and Wade Williams. Plus from "Mid-Century Modern" and elsewhere, I recognize my latest Golden Thread: Bruno Amato. In my Classic Collection, I encountered a few disc errors, suggesting my current DVD player may be wearing out. In the meantime, lots of high-drama season finales in this set. Comments on "Grey's Anatomy," "Fringe," "The Simpsons," "Chuck," "Breaking Bad," and a discussion on the Weeping Angels in "Doctor Who." In Old Business, I track down a musical comedy clip of Martin Short listing celebrities and other notables who refuse to appear on "The Late Show with David Letterman." I'd archived a portion of that one to disc 225 but hadn't seen the first half in perhaps ever until I found it on YouTube in a clip compilation of Martin Short appearances hosted by David Letterman and Paul Schaffer. I posted it here, cued to the 22-minute mark: https://bit.ly/3G52J9e In What I've Been Watching, comments on the Vernal Theatre's outstanding production of "Kiss Me Kate," the second season premiere of "Doctor Who" on Disney+, the first season of "Continuum" and pilot episodes of "Millennium," "Profiler" and "Mid-Century Modern." SPREADING THE WORD! "VideoFuzzy: The Video - Celebrating 100 Episodes!" is posted at https://youtu.be/eWfcCDiOZ2I. Please share as you're able to with anyone you feel might enjoy this production. Tune in as Arthur's pal Anna hops back into their guest seat for a deep dive into Upload, the Prime Video series that follows a technologically advanced near-future in which people have figured out a way to, well, upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife. Running for three seasons since 2020, this show, which feels reminiscent of The Good Place, has been renewed for a fourth and final season. Talking points for today's episode include people's excessive fixation on Claudia Sulewski supposedly resembling Billie Eilish, the Likable Bro charisma that helps a star like Robbie Amell offset his worrisome filmography, Upload's thought-provoking lens on capitalism (albeit a lens that's clearly provided by liberals), and Arthur's vehement defense of the Nathan/Nora chemistry. Created by Greg Daniels, Upload stars Robbie Amell, Andy Allo, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, Kevin Bigley, Andrea Rosen, Owen Daniels, William B. Davis, Josh Banday, Jessica Tuck, Chris Williams, Elizabeth Bowen, Rhys Slack, Jordan Johnson-Hinds, Paulo Costanzo, Barclay Hope, Mackenzie Cardwell, Peter James Smith, Bassem Youssef, Jeanine Mason, Matt Ward, Chloe Coleman, and Hiro Kanagawa. In this episode James and Gwen discuss some the newer "pun" horror films playing off the Christmas season. It's a Wonderful Knife is a 2023 American slasher comedy film directed by Tyler MacIntyre and written by Michael Kennedy. It stars Jane Widdop, Jess McLeod, Joel McHale, Katharine Isabelle, William B. Davis, and Justin Long. It is a spin on the 1946 Christmas film It's a Wonderful Life. Violent Night is a 2022 an action comedy directed by Tommy Wirkola and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. It follows Santa Claus (portrayed by David Harbour) as he fights mercenaries who have taken a wealthy family hostage in their home.[6] The film also stars John Leguizamo, Alex Hassell, and Beverly D'Angelo.

He then pulls out a gun, taking everyone inside hostage, except the children who are too dumb to take care of themselves so maybe let one parent leave with them. Another man tries unsuccessfully to get him to calm down, but he shoots three people whom he notices trying to escape before being shot by snipers outside. These snipers made great time, the woman behind the counter called as he drew his gun and they were immediately setting up outside. Maybe fresh salads is right next to the cop house? The shooter says, “I'm going to die” and the other man says “no one's going to die.” Then lays on hands and cures his bullet wound. He also cleans up the blood stains better than hydrogen peroxide. So, look for this guy next time you find yourself flipping through infomercials. It really works! ---- Favorite production note: William B. By the time William B. Davis debuted in the pilot episode of The X-Files as the Cigarette Smoking Man, he'd already built a storied career as a director, acting teacher, and actor on both sides of the Atlantic. William documented his journey to The X-Files in his 2013 book, Where There's Smoke… Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man – a journey that began with CBC audio dramas when he was a child and continues to this day with roles on popular fare like Amazon Studio's Upload and Mike Flanagan's highly anticipated horror series The Midnight Club. Despite his busy schedule, William somehow found the time to write a second book: On Acting… And Life, which was released earlier this month and is a celebration of the craft of acting. This new book is rich with anecdotes about directing actors and developing characters, while also providing the kind of practical information about rehearsing, learning lines, and fine-tuning work that actors pay good money for in acting schools. In this compelling conversation with Sabrina Rani Furminger, William reflects on his career (including his time in the Cigarette Smoking Man's cloud of smoke), and shares what he feels actors need to know in order to build careers that feed their souls. Today on Too Opinionated we talk with actor William Davis! Acclaimed award-winning actor William B. Davis, best known as the Cigarette Smoking Man on TV's The X-Files, is pleased to announce that his second book ‘On Acting …and life will be released on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. With over 135 IMDb credits and not one to slow down, William's current roles include the villain David Choak in Upload now airing on Amazon. He can also be seen in the upcoming Netflix TV series from Mike Flanagan entitled The Midnight Club. Dozens of books on acting exist, but none of them are quite like this. Part memoir and part master class, modelled after Stephen King's bestseller, On Writing, the book is divided into two parts. Part one takes readers on a seventy-year journey that begins with William B. Davis, at age twelve, riding his bicycle through the streets of Toronto to his first acting classes, and eventually leads to him starring in the long-running television series, The X-Files, starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. From a summer theatre in Ontario to the National Theatre of Great Britain to the National Theatre School of Canada to the William Davis Centre for Actors' Study in Vancouver, few have travelled such a colorful journey. Along the way, Davis met all sorts of familiar faces, including Donald Sutherland, Brian Cox, Albert Finney, Laurence Olivier, Maggie Smith, David Duchovny, and Gillian Anderson, among others. Although there is a lot about acting in part one, the heart of the book for an aspiring or working actor is in part two. What has Davis learned in seventy years of working both in the theatre and in film and television? A lot, as you will see. Davis's grasp of the art of acting is vast and practical. And in some ways, original. In his final chapter, Davis explores the underlying philosophy of acting and actor-training and argues for bringing the work into the twenty-first century. Related to the actor Wolf Kahler ('Indiana Jones: Raiders Of The Lost Ark'). Acting is in the blood which meant Mhairi was a film buff from an early age. At the age of 5, Mhairi made her movie debut playing the role of 'Young Murron' in Mel Gibson's film 'Braveheart', which went on to win five Oscars and 'the thistle scene' became one of the most popular Hollywood scenes of all time. Shortly after filming Mhairi returned to school and started her career on stage performing in several theatres in the UK. Mhairi spent two years training and performing with The Forthwall Theatre company in York. Then in 2006 Mhairi was reunited with actors James Robinson and Andrew Weir ('Braveheart') and invited to New York to take part in the event 'Dressed to Kilt' alongside Sean Connery and Brian Cox which aired on American TV. Four months after graduating drama school Mhairi played the lead role in the independent romance ghost movie 'Any Minute Now' where she played a teenage narcoleptic girl who discovers something sinister in the town she's moved to. After earning good reviews from critics for her performance and gaining recognition from her peers, she was also nominated for best leading actress in an independent movie for her performance along with actors such as Mia Wasikowska. When the Cigarette Smoking Man from the X-Files says he wants to be on your show, you make room to have him on your show. Episode 142 of our weekly live podcast broadcast was a little bit disjointed as we made room for several guests from the upcoming Motor City Comic Con in addition to our scheduled guests from OST USA and Local Apparel as actor William B Davis, special effects and makeup artist Daniel Phillips, and Alloy Ash...who's both a model and a welder if you can just let that sink in for a moment. Plus we talked all of the chaos and mayhem from this past weekend's Penguicon event where, ahem, we won the award for best overall room party... https://youtu.be/F7tIoRNP_dY We didn't really have time to get into a lot of stories, as William B Davis, aka "Cigarette Smoking Man" from the X-Files series was ready and waiting for us right out of the gate. So we chatted with him a bit about the X-Files (naturally), but also the rest of his career, his autobiography that he'll have with him at the upcoming Motor City Comic Con event, and more. Fascinating conversation, and definitely a really cool way to kick off the show. For the rest of the first segment, we talked Penguicon. This past weekend was the 14th year of the event, and our 2nd year attending. To say that if you weren't there you really missed out on something awesome really doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Bob and I participated in a number of panels. From "The 10 Commandments of Networking" and "10 Commandments of Job Search" that you regular site visitors are likely familiar with to "The Art of Retro Gamers" where we discussed growing up with arcade games and the first consoles, the ever-popular "Flirting for Geeks" panel where we talked how to handle and manage interactions, the "Intro to Podcasting" panel where we talked all things podcasting from recording at home to studios and networks, and then a panel with a whole bunch of other online personalities where we discussed why we do what we do, our favorite and least favorite episodes. And the room parties...oh my, the room parties. Folks, we had dancing dinosaurs in our room. We had pirates. We had vampires. There was a dance-off. We burned through four kegs, twenty-four bottles of vodka, multiple 30 packs of PBR, a few bottles of Jaeger along the way to winning "best overall room party" with our 80s theme. Bob kicked out an amazing playlist of tunes, and we did what we do best: get people drinking and having a great time. Huge shout out and thank you to the entire Penguicon staff, roster of volunteers, and of course all of the attendees. We can't wait for next year's event April 28-30...which oh, you can already register for: https://registration.penguicon.org/ A quick break, and we dove in with OST USA. Open Systems Technologies is a repeat guest on the show, and is a company offering services ranging from enterprise technology implementations, cloud services, business transformation consulting and much, much more to a wide and varied client base spanning just about any industry you can think of. Listen in, and hear how they just might be able to help you and your company as well. Then Daniel Phillips (no relation) called in. He's a practical effects make up artist right here locally, and he does some outstanding work. Some of which you may have seen during the show Face Off, or in the Hobbit films. He's a great guy doing a lot of great work, including training interns to carry on the craft...which is so cool to see in a world where many things are done by computer generated effects. Check him out at http://dpmakeupstudio.net/ Next up, we chatted with Local Apparel USA. They provide a wide range of clothing featuring the word "local", your city or location, and then occupations, sayings, or just about anything you want to put on them. Best of all, they're a locally owned and operated company,
