Holy Week arrives with profound significance, bridging Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday in a journey that transforms our understanding of divine love and sacrifice. This episode explores the deep meaning behind this sacred time when all elements of Christ's ministry converge toward the ultimate demonstration of God's love for humanity. We reflect on the beautiful lyrics of "In Christ Alone" by Keith Getty and Stuart Townsend, unpacking how this powerful hymn captures the essence of Christ's redemptive work. The song reminds us that our hope, peace, and strength are found in Christ alone—the cornerstone that remains firm through life's fiercest storms and deepest challenges. As we journey through this significant week, we're invited to not only celebrate Christ's victory over death but also to extend His love to others—especially those we find most difficult to love. Take a moment today to reflect on this incredible gift and how it continues to change lives two thousand years later. We would love to hear your comments. Send us a Text MessageSupport the show
Jay and Mark talk about the 2025 shark thriller Into the Deep. Directed by Christian Sesma, and starring Scout Taylor-Compton, Jon Seda, Stuart Townsend, and RIchard Dreyfus, the movie focuses on what happens when modern day pirates attempt to retrieve gold (and drugs) in shark infested water. In this episode, they also talk about scuba-diving treasure-hunting influencers, shark flashbacks, and being denied cocaine sharks again.

Is Aaliyah the true Queen of all Vampires? Is Burning Man better with blood suckers? Join us in the dessert to find out. Synopsis: In this loose sequel to Interview with the Vampire (1994), the vampire Lestat becomes a rock star whose music wakes up the equally beautiful and monstrous queen of all vampires. It's a big day for BEHIND THE LENS as we're kicking off Year 11 of BTL Radio Show AND my 43rd year as a film critic! And what better way for "moviesharkd" to start a new year and new decade than with a shark movie. And what a shark movie I have for you today – INTO THE DEEP! Directed by CHRISTIAN SESMA and written by Chad Law and Josh Ridgway, INTO THE DEEP stars Scout Taylor Compton, Callum McGowan, Stuart Townsend, Jon Seda and Richard Dreyfuss. An action-packed thriller where pirates on the hunt for sunken drugs kidnap a boat of tourists, including husband and wife Cassidy and Gregg, and force them to dive into shark-infested waters to retrieve the drugs (and anything else they might find of value). Listen as Christian and I discuss the making of INTO THE DEEP and the challenges it presented to him. Well accomplished with action films on land, diving into a movie that is 90%, if not more, both underwater and on the water proved to be a steep learning curve for Christian, but one that he and his team successfully mounted to deliver this taut nail-biter. It's an interesting interview discussing not only the making of the film and shooting in Thailand but having Richard Dreyfuss involved in the film and notably with a compelling call to action for sharks during the end credits. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com
Soju from Straight Chilling Podcast joins Caitlin to cover 2002's Queen of the Damned, a movie about fame, loneliness, and desire. It's got soundtrack for the ages, and it hits some of our favorite vampire tropes. We also talk about Aaliyah and the tragic circsumtances surrounding her death. Tangents are mostly vampire related, as we got a ton of great vampire questions from the audience. We also talk about card suits, good advice, body parts, and 2024 horror.
On this episode Kat is joined by Stuart Townsend, a passionate mental health advocate in the construction industry and Operations Director at Taylor Woodrow. In this episode Stuart talks about the challenges of switching off, the dangers of not being able to, and the one habit that he uses to decompress and be fully present with his family. KEY TAKEAWAYS The construction industry is a demanding, tiring, rewarding one and it's difficult to leave things at work, which I think are big contributors to the mental health of everybody. In some industries you finish your shift and you're home, in our industry things play on your mind, there are certain things you can't leave because tasks can last week and even months before they're finished as well as the responsibility for the wellbeing of everyone you manage as well. We've been in a mental health pandemic for a lot longer than people realise. It's difficult subject, and construction traditionally being a male-led industry meant people were told to be more broad shouldered and get on with it. This made it difficult for people to open up. We've looked at that as a business and have health and wellbeing champions in our divisions who go through training, but it takes a specialist to work with people who are struggling, our training allows people to signpost because we're not fully medically trained. The pressures that come with delivery, timescales, locations, juggling all those balls at the same time, as well as trying to look out for a team, deliver quality, right first time, hit targets set internally, meet the clients' targets externally, they're all massive catalysts. And you've got to be as professional as you can be every day. You can't help but take it home. ‘Fire-gazing' goes right back to the Stone Age, I tell my people about it, it's based around hunting: Man goes hunting, man brings food home, lady cooks food, man stares at fire. There's an element of fire-gazing that I think everybody in this industry needs, whether you're a man or a woman. You need to try and switch off in the evening. I now turn my phone off whenever I'm not at work or need to be contacted, that's been a real benefit to me. BEST MOMENTS “Two people die by suicide every year in this industry and 91% of people feel overwhelmed.” “I'm finding myself asking ‘are you OK?' It's OK to ask for help. It gives them confidence in me as a manager to give them the support that they need.” “But there's still that stigma and I don't know how we break it.” “I like to cook, it helps me de-stress.” ABOUT THE GUEST Stuart Townsend is an experienced Contracts Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry. Skilled in Subcontracting, Construction, Value Engineering, Cost Management, and Highways. Strong operations professional. LinkedIn ABOUT THE HOST Kat started her career as a teacher, before moving into Tech where she worked in different executive roles within teaching and consulting working across the globe, both in the public and private sector. Despite appearing 'successful' on the outside, she paid a heavy ‘life' price. In 2016, her whole world collapsed. The reason? The compound effect of years of unhealthy and toxic habits that destroyed her health, relationship and career. She suffered a severe breakdown and lost everything. In the middle of this she got headhunted for her first CEO role. She rebuilt herself by changing just one small habit, and built a series of positive habits which has transformed her professional and personal performance, resulting in becoming the healthiest and happiest version of herself. She is a positive habits international keynote speaker and teacher, giving talks and delivering high impact programmes to organisations across the globe. LinkedIn Instagram

We are looking at the favourite of many 90s teen goths; Interview With The Vampire, including the performances, casting choices, Brad Pitt's body odor, annoying mimes, and burning down all of your problems. Interview With the Vampire Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCmYN6TLd8A&ab_channel=RottenTomatoesClassicTrailers I Love This You Should Too is hosted by Samantha & Indy Randhawa Interview with the Vampire is a 1994 American gothic horror film directed by Neil Jordan, based on Anne Rice's 1976 novel of the same name, and starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. It focuses on Lestat (Cruise) and Louis (Pitt), beginning with Louis's transformation into a vampire by Lestat in 1791. The film chronicles their time together, and their turning of ten-year-old Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) into a vampire. The narrative is framed by a present-day interview, in which Louis tells his story to a San Francisco reporter (Christian Slater). The supporting cast features Antonio Banderas and Stephen Rea. The film was released in November 1994 to generally positive reviews and was a commercial success. It received two Oscar nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Original Score. Kirsten Dunst was additionally nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. A stand-alone sequel, Queen of the Damned, was released in 2002, with Stuart Townsend replacing Cruise as Lestat.

Third podcast review for the #merrythanksgivingweekend on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. (I am glad we are almost done.) This podcast we are reviewing Christmas at Castle Hart starring Lacey Chabert and Stuart Townsend, as well as Time for Them to Come home for Christmas starring Jessy Schram and Brendan Elliot. We liked Christmas at Castle Hart. It was very reminiscent of Hallmark's 2016 movie "My Summer Prince" starring Jax Turner and Taylor Cole. Loved the sister relationship between Margot and Brooke. Definitely loved the comedy and the river dancing. A few things we want to point out though is that we feel Hallmark is perpetuating a stereotype about the Irish people when Margot and Brooke go to the pub to find their family members, like they expect them to be in the bar all day or something. Why not go to the library. Also this was written by Paul Campbell. We are thinking of renaming this weekend "The Weekend of Paul Campbell" lol. Since he had a hand in 3 of the 8 movies that aired. Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas was nice. It wasn't memorable. The drinking game of how many times can you hear that song was a missed opportunity. Allison Sweeney made a cameo appearance. And we are left wondering "Can two people fall in love in two days?" Also IT DOESN'T SNOW IN THE CAROLINAS!!!! lol Join our newly minted Facebook group whose purpose is to highlight diversity and inclusion Hallmark Channel has taken. https://www.facebook.com/groups/421837762791433 Support the podcast and buy me a coffee. Perhaps life's greatest challenge is coping with suffering — or how to suffer well. All religions address this, but not in the same way. Christianity uniquely gives meaning to suffering because of the redemptive suffering of its founder, Jesus Christ. Grace and Grit is a film by Sebastian Siegel (who wrote the script) about the suffering of a real-life young couple, writer Ken Wilber (played by Stuart Townsend), and his wife, Treya Wilber (Mena Suvari), who is diagnosed with cancer shortly after their wedding. The film is, among other things, a study of how one's deepest convictions influence one's approach to suffering. Since his first book, The Spectrum of Consciousness (Quest Books, 1977), Wilber has defended the worldview that all is one (nondualism or monism) and all is divine (pantheism). He has developed an account of consciousness in which the highest state of consciousness is the realization of oneness with an impersonal god. We invite you to meet the maker of the movie, Grace and Grit, Sebastian Siegel, in Q&A with Nomali Perera, followed by a session of Integral Life Practice. Inspired by one of Ken Wilber's most beloved and acclaimed books, Sebastian Siegel set out on a decade-long journey of dedication and commitment, ultimately, to Love. In this conversation, Sebastian shares his brave decision-making process around committing to this project, what writing, producing, and directing this movie has meant to him, and how he steps into his work--no matter what that might be--as an Integral Life Practice. Sebastian also discusses several other themes of the movie such as the challenging aspects of how he attempted to include the many voices of Treya and Ken Wilber as subjects and authors, the meta-voice of the transpersonal, plus, Sebastian's own voice as the creator of the movie. We also heard from Sebastian--after having been in this project for a decade--what "grace" means to him, and who Treya has become to him, a beloved woman in the integral community that not many of us had the privilege of meeting. Once the interview ended, Nomali then led a short contemplative practice in exploring the topic of grace and grit as something we all need in order to live purposefully, face challenges and birth our dreams in the same way Sebastian did, and in how Ken and Treya exemplified in this profound story of transcendent love. Released on the 4th of June, 2021, starring Mena Suvari and Stuart Townsend, with Frances Fisher, Rebekah Graf, Nick Stahl, and Mariel Hemingway, the movie Grace and Grit is now available on Amazon Prime, Apple and other streaming services, as well as in select theaters.

I had such high hopes for the sequel, which turned out to be an immense disappointment. Among its many flaws, they somehow managed to make it less PC and more racist than the first movie, which was set during WWI. Part of our new series devoted to exploring the vampire in horror cinema, we go deep on two cinematic adaptations of Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. First up, Neil Jordan's 1994 adaptation of Interview with the Vampire is a gothic masterpiece that has influenced counteless vampire films since. We also discuss its unfortunate sequel, Queen of the Damned, which came in 2007 starring Stuart Townsend as the vampire Lestat and Aaliyah as Akasha, the titular Queen of the Damned. Joining us in this episode is film critic Kelli Weston. We discuss the themes of Interview with the Vampire, the softboi energy of Louis, the monstrosity of Claudia the child vampire and the queer reading of the film. Be warned: the section on Queen of the Damned includes dramatic readings of Lestat's band's lyrics. Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and Thrasher discuss Queen of the Damned. An undead musician rises from the dead to start a mediocre goth band. Pulling in elements from The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned, this dopey sequel ignores large swaths of the book to make a generic early 2000s vampire movie. Aaliyah has some fun as the titular villain and Stuart Townsend looks the part of Lestat, but the loads of characters and flashbacks rush along a story that would be more appropriate for a miniseries. Author Anne Rice claims this movie mutilated her books.
Schlocktober continues with another vampire flick! Amanda the Jedi makes her return to the show to help the guys dissect the 2002 vampire/rock & roll opus Queen of the Damned. KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER is one of the most important and influential "Canceled Too Soon" shows in TV history. But what about the reboot, NIGHT STALKER, from X-FILES producer Frank Spotnitz, starring Stuart Townsend and Gabrielle Union? Today’s guest, Sebastian Siegel, is the screenwriter and director of the upcoming movie, Grace and Grit. The film tells the true love story of iconic, Integral philosopher Ken Wilber and his wife Treya. Based on the acclaimed book that chronicles Treya’s journals, they fall madly in love in 1980’s California and are immediately faced with illness and challenges that tear them apart. They overcome by finding a connection beyond this world, and love beyond life. The film stars Mena Suvari and Stuart Townsend as Treya and Ken, and features supporting performances by Frances Fisher, Rebekah Graf, Nick Stahl, and Mariel Hemmingway. In our conversation, Sebastian, who is an integral practitioner, friend, and long-time fan of Ken’s work, talks in depth about many elements of making the film from writing, development, and casting, to directing, storytelling, and production, and his overriding mission to serve not just this epic love story, but also the emergence of Integral consciousness itself. Sebastian Siegel is author of the book, “The Consciousness Revolution”, and is the creator of two documentaries: “Awakening World” and “Spirit of Evolution.” You can find out more about Grace and Grit at the movie’s website, Sebastian’s instagram account. , and his website.

Did you know that singing is one of, if not the most, stated commands in all of the Bible? Filling our homes with song has a deep, visceral effect on who we are and what we believe. Perhaps it's no wonder why singing is arguably the most powerful way to pass God's truth onto our kids. In this episode, Keith Getty joins Josh to talk about the importance of singing in the home. Keith and Kristyn Getty occupy a unique space in the world of music today as preeminent modern hymn writers. According to CCLI, it is estimated that 40 to 50 million people sing their hymn “In Christ Alone” (penned by Keith and long-time writing partner, Stuart Townsend) in church services each year. With four young daughters, Keith takes us behind the walls of the Getty home to describe how he and Kristyn pass on the truths of God to their kids through song. Even more, Keith gives us insightful reasons for (that are quite convicting by the way) and practical ways to implement song into our kid's lives every single day. So you want to make a movie about an anachronistic crime fighting team based on a comic by Alan Moore? What could go wrong? Well, if you're the director of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), Stephen Norrington, everything.
