In this episode of the DevReady Podcast, our hosts, Andrew Romeo and Anthony Sapountzis are joined by Finbar OHanlon, the Co-founder of APAC Innovation Institute. Fin is also a Corporate Advisor, Strategist, and Company Director specializing in Digital transformation (Ai) and Human Capability. In this episode, Fin gives insights on challenging norms, embracing curiosity, and fostering innovation across music and technology. Fin shares a remarkable journey marked by defiance of conventions and an unquenchable thirst for innovation. Starting as a rebellious student in a Christian school, he transitioned into the realm of technology from a successful career in music. Despite societal pressures and challenges, his innate curiosity and passion for learning guided him towards remarkable achievements. Notably, his early interest in digital audio technology led him to a pivotal role in a prominent music store and eventually to Apple as a digital audio specialist, where he tackled industry-defining challenges. Fin's narrative centers on embracing the unknown and pushing boundaries. He discovered that his greatest successes emerged when he challenged established norms and fostered innovation. His transition to the tech world involved unconventional approaches, such as creating an enterprise-grade video-switching system for banks, despite not fitting the traditional software developer mold. His experiences span multiple countries, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and the value of questioning norms and embracing change. Throughout the episode, Fin highlights the significance of structured thinking and validation regarding innovation. He stresses that ideas alone are not enough; they must be transformed into well-defined opportunities with consideration for pricing, development costs, timelines, and success probabilities. Moreover, he advocates for a blueprint approach in innovation involving identifying unmet needs, customer segmentation, pricing strategies, and preliminary business plans. Fin's journey is an inspiring testament to the power of curiosity, resilience, and a willingness to challenge conventional wisdom. His story underscores the idea that innovation is a continuous process that requires effort, creativity, and the courage to think differently. On this week's Out d'Coup LIVE, I welcome Connor OHanlon to the show. Connor is a progressive Democrat running for state representative in PA's 29th legislative district in Bucks County. Connor currently works as an auditor (CPA) and specializes in audits of SEC companies in the online gaming and casino industry. Additionally, Connor has worked as a licensed realtor and conveyancer in and around Bucks County which has furthered his familiarity and relationship-building with local officials and professionals serving the community. Connor has been a resident of Doylestown Township since 2007 and went through the Central Bucks Public School District from Groveland Elementary to Central Bucks West High School. Connor is a licensed Certified Public Account (CPA) and has earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Certificate of Real Estate from Penn State University. Assuming all the state legislative districts remain relatively the same after potential court challenges, Connor will be running in a contested primary in a district where the incumbent Republican representative just retired. That makes the 29th up-for-grabs and ripe for a Democratic pick up. The question is, what kind of Democrat? Connor is banking on his plan for a PA New Deal for creating a strong PA economy, strengthening our infrastructure, and protecting the rights of Pennsylvanians. In this weeks episode of Master My Garden Podcast I am joined by Dr. Karen O Hanlon to talk about the benefits of Biochar in your garden. Biochar is now starting to become spoken about quiet a lot and its benefits are far reaching and definitive. It has 58 stated uses but specifically in gardening terms it has huge benefits such as locking in carbon, retaining moisture, increasing the microbial action around the rootzone, increasing yields, improving plants resistance to disease, reduces acidity in the soil etc. Many craft gardeners speak of the benefits of biochar especially in plants with restricted root zones such as urban trees, bonsai plants and alpine plants. Karen's company Probio Carbon goes one step further by inoculating their own produced biochar with beneficial bacteria that give plants a huge boost especially for plant health. Pete is joined by Joannie O'Hanlon today, an incredible and inspirational woman who dedicates her life to helping other women change their thinking to dramatically improve their lives. Together, they discuss how vital it is to always look on the positive side of life, how to stop toxic thoughts interfering with your dreams and how to crash through the barrier of fear. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many people do not understand personal mentoring. We have to be realistic and acknowledge that life can be a bumpy trail. You can choose to live a life where you are more lentiant to the positive side and understand that things happen for a reason and how to count your blessings. It is great to be able to reflect on how far you have come. Fire in the belly is a heated desire that is so strong that it pulls you out of bed in the morning. You are no longer pushing through life anymore, something greater is pushing you out there, towards your greatness. When you are feeling out of alignment, start to question what is happening to jeopardize feeling happy and with a clear mind. Oftentimes you will find that it will be toxic thoughts such as self-doubt. These thoughts are not good and are stopping you from being focused on what is good. If something is seeping in that is not making you feel good, choose to reject it and carry on with what you know is going to serve you best. You are capable of achieving anything that you put your mind to. It is so important that everybody knows that. Shrink your dreams down, to small attainable goals rather than massive, scary goals. When we harbour faith over fear, we can crash through every scary decision and we can do it in style. To crash through the barrier of fear and into freedom, is the most liberating thing that you can possibly do. So many people crash and burn into the fear barrier and become subservient to mediocracy which they have been tolerating for so long, letting it dictate their life. Crashing through all limiting beliefs and situations, and facing fear and taking risks is the key to getting to your goal. BEST MOMENTS “I just love to stop and take it all in.” “ Life is a journey, do not take it too seriously. Honor the times that are good and the things that are bad. Focus on the good things in life.” “We are and I am capable of doing anything that I put my mind to.” “I've got some big dreams.” “I have always been a risk taker.” ABOUT THE GUEST I teach women how to change their thinking for dramatically improved results, using the incredible & life transformative programmes by the Proctor Gallagher Institute. The world is in an age of peace, relatively speaking. Great powers are not fighting each other and haven’t for a long time. But, the expert guest on this episode says, the United States must stay good at the art of war. Senior Fellow Michael O’Hanlon talks about his new book, “The Art of War in an Age of Peace: U.S. Grand Strategy and Resolute Restraint,” published in May by Yale University Press. In it, O’Hanlon presents a national security policy that contends with current challenges like Russia, China, North Korea, and Middle East turmoil, but also calls for attention to new dangers, including biological, nuclear, digital, climatic, and domestic cohesion. In this era, O’Hanlon argues for continued American engagement, military deterrence, and working with allies. Also on this episode, Senior Fellow Molly Reynolds offers her thoughts on what’s happening in Congress, especially how the filibuster has shaped recent events in the Senate—including failure to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol—and also how the filibuster will play out in upcoming debates on election reform, lobbying rules, and more. It is a moment engrained in the folklore of Ireland written into the history of Slane gigs forever! The irony is that nobody actually recorded it happening! If it happened today we would be inundated with videos but this was 2001. Moby was the support for u2 and Ireland were playing Holland in a World Cup qualifier in Dublin. The game was so big at the time it was shown live at the request of the crowd! Moby was a HUGE Father Ted fan and decided that Ardal O'Hanlon should sing My Lovely Horse to over 80,000 mad Slane fans! I just had this idea. Wouldn't it be amazing if Dougal (Ardal) could play My Lovely Horse with me to the crowd. Ardal said yes but he aloo said he was watching the game. So, I did one of the most indulgent rock stars things I've ever done and sent a helicopter to pick him up! Moby tell Fergal D'Arcy the inside story on that Slane moment. He also reveal a very cool secret David Bowie told him once about his classic song 'Heroes' - The two were New York neighbours for years and became very good friends. David once sat down with him and revealed the origins of one of music's greatest anthems. Brand new album Reprise is out May 28 and features many of his biggest songs but remade with an Orchestra! It also features a stunning remake of his smash hit Natural Blues featuring the unmatchable vocals of Gregory Porter and Amythyst Kiah that is out now: There's also a new documentary called Mobydoc:
Actor and Comedian Ardal O'Hanlon, spoke to Claire about his new TV documentary Holy F***, which looks at why we Irish people are so fond of throwing in three expletives when one would do.

John O'Hanlon has been a well-known name in footballing circles for many years – 25 of those with Windmill Stars FC - both at youth and senior managerial level as well as on the field. His work has not gone unnoticed by his club, nor by the IFA, who recently named him the regional McDonalds IFA Grassroots Volunteer of the Year, at their awards ceremony in Windsor Park. We also hear from Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney, after the Orchard County beat Clare in the final Allianz League fixture of the 2020 season, to win promotion to Division 1 for the first time since 2012.
On today’s episode, I’m chatting to an Irish actor and stand up comedian. Spending his childhood in Monaghan, this week’s guest didn’t grow up looking for a life in the spotlight. Quite shy and introverted, he loved to read and was extremely curious about the world. Going to college, he decided he wanted to change as a person and took up debating where he got his first taste of what stand up comedy could be like. Realising he had the ability to make his peers laugh, about six months after graduating, he set up one of Ireland’s first comedy clubs with three friends in the upstairs room of the International Bar in Dublin. Taking it as far as he could in Ireland, his next move was to London where everything changed. Being approached to audition for a new series, Father Ted, was only the beginning and a few stand up tours, further TV roles such as DI Jack Mooney in Death in Paradise - led him to make quite the name for himself on the world stage. Sharing his story thus far, here’s what it’s like to be Ardal O’Hanlon. Follow Ardal on Twitter @ardalsfolly

Chef Gary O'Hanlon joins Sinead with this week's simple recipe: Curried lentils du Puy Serves 6 Ingredients 250g puy lentils (green lentils) 1 carrot, peeled and very finely diced 9brunoise) 1 celery stalk, peeled and diced finely ½ parsnip, peeled and diced finely ½ white onion, finely diced drizzle of vegetable oil 3tbspn high quality curry powder 1tsp paprika 1/2tsp dried red chillies 1/4tsp turmeric 100ml white wine 500ml chicken stock 300-350ml cream juice of 1 lime 2 handfuls fresh coriander, sliced salt & pepper to taste Method Heat a heavy based pot, add in the oil followed by the lentils and vegetables. Season well Once vegetables soften slightly add in the spiced and mix well. Now add in the white wine and reduce by half. Now fee in half the chicken stock and mix well. Bring to the boil and then turn down to a simmer. Once the lentils have soaked up the stock add in half of what is remaining. Keep feeding the lentils, bit by bit, with the remaining chicken stock until it’s all absorbed. Now add in 200ml of the cream, the lime juice and mix well. Keep cooking on a low heat until the lentils are soft. You may or may not need all the cream. You can decide the consistency you prefer. It should resemble a good quality risotto. Adjust seasoning and add in the coriander. Mix well and serve. It’s fabulous on its own or with Chicken, duck, pork and even fish. If there was one thing you think society should talk more about, what would it be? “It would be about talking less and listening more. Everyone is talking over each other and trying to get others to understand their point of view. Everyone’s trying to get you to buy something, or buy into something. There’s a lost art of listening and I think social media has amplified that. I want people to understand the power of different” ______ There’s no doubt we’re all in a time of unprecedented change, and for many, this change is pretty scary. Today's guest has spent his life embracing change, questioning the norm, analysing patterns, then designing and applying frameworks to reinvent the future. A few ways to describe Finbar O’Hanlon could be strategic thinker, or global technology pioneer, maybe digital media architect, inventor, futurist and definitely musician… but Finbar describes himself simply, as a purveyor of different. He’s spent the last 30 years living in different countries, helping people and organizations see through a lens that empowers the execution of innovation. He lives and breathes the future. As a musician and artist Finbar has played, and recorded with artists from bands ranging from Limp Bizkit to the legendary Cure. He even has his own signature guitar. But there’s more to this musician than meets the Rockstar-eye. Finbar helps global companies see through a different lens so they can uncover unrealised value. His ideas have helped launch three publicly listed companies with over $40 million dollars in startup capital and he’s been granted 13 patents in multiple different countries. He’s so bloody refreshing in a corporate sea of sameness and everytime I chat with Finbar, he challenges my thinking in such monumental ways - I can’t wait for the next time we meet! I hope you enjoy this wonderful conversation with the fabulous Finbar! _____ Connect and find out more about Finbar here;- Website: www.finbarohanlon.com Linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/in/finbarohanlon And for more information about the Wabi Sabi Series, please find us here:- https://wabisabiseries.com/ Instagram @thewabisabiseries Facebook @thewabisabiseries If you have a burning topic you’d love society to talk more about, or know someone who’d be great to come on our podcast, drop us a line at hello@wabisabiseries.com

Do you want to manifest your best possible life and highest potential? Abundance is a natural state for us to be in and is part of our divine right. We live surrounded by abundance but somehow does this bountiful world seem to elude your experience? From ancient times to the present, mystics, scholars and authors have been pondering and writing about how we co-create our reality with the Universe. The scientific discipline of quantum physics has shown that reality is malleable and that we shape our life with our mindset. However, they did not incorporate how you could be blocking yourself from realizing this very abundance and therefore not receiving your desires. How do you release your blocks to having everything you desire in this lifetime? These ideas are definitely “things worth considering”
