Former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández was arrested and extradited to the United States on drug trafficking charges. His arrest came after a request from U.S. authorities, which was promptly approved by the Honduran Supreme Court and implemented by the national police.Hernández was convicted of conspiring to import cocaine into the United States and related firearms offenses. During his presidency from 2014 to 2022, he was accused of using his position to facilitate the transportation of large quantities of cocaine through Honduras to the U.S., in exchange for millions of dollars in bribes from major drug traffickers. This illicit activity was carried out while Hernández publicly supported anti-narcotics measures, creating a facade of cooperation with international drug enforcement efforts. His involvement in the drug trade included protecting drug shipments with the help of the Honduran police and military, selectively extraditing rivals to the U.S., and receiving financial support from drug cartels to maintain his political power. This corruption and criminal activity were part of a broader narco-state environment in Honduras, which was supported by Hernández's administration.(commercial at 7:37)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

EPISODE 53: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:47) SPECIAL COMMENT: The FBI has an informant! He's told them that after the subpoena, Trump ordered the boxes of documents moved, and it was all captured on Mar-a-Lago security video! He's the equivalent of Watergate's "Deep Throat" - let's call him "Deep STORAGE"! (2:25) But why does this Washington Post scoop sound so familiar? BECAUSE THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THIS STORY HAS BROKEN (3:08) On August 10th, we learned there was an informant inside Mar-a-Lago, and a subpoena for security tapes. (3:41) Let me replay the relevant part of the August 11th Countdown commentary, to show that we first encountered "Deep Storage" that moment, and that the only true element to this story is WHAT the informant told the FBI about - moving the boxes. (11:45) So now we ask: did the informant tell the FBI anything that hasn't been reported? Is there more than one informant? But if there's only "Deep Storage" - WHO IS IT!?!?!? B-Block (15:52) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Thor, in North Central L.A. (16:53) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: That $1 Billion figure in the Alex Jones case? That's a minimum. There are still punitive damages to be assessed against the scum; Kanye does another "hate speech" and the show gets shelved; and another family member catches Herschel Walker in another lie. (19:54) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Joe Rogan, LibsOfTikTok and Tulsi Gabbard team up to battle Blake Masters and Chris 'I Used To Pretend To Have Hearing And Vision Problems To Explain My On-Camera Gaffes' Matthews - MSNBC's new undead guest - who trashed John Fetterman for using the equivalent of the text dictation device you have on your phone, during an interview. C-Block (27:42) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: We're in the baseball post-season now so I'll take you back to 1999. In one Yankees-Red Sox series as the host and dugout reporter for Fox, I was a) caught in the middle of a bottle-throwing melee at Fenway Park b) witness to a Yankee swearing endlessly at a manager c) visited by a pitcher (El Duque Hernandez) who supposedly didn't speak English but had a bunch of questions about SportsCenter, and d) was also visited by Bernie Williams, who was so deeply worried that I might be a Red Sox fan that he kept asking me about it even while he was due in the on-deck circle during the 1st Inning.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On February 16, ex-President Juan Orlando Hernandez was arrested by Honduran police. Since then, his extradition process to the United States to stand trial on drug trafficking and weapons charges, has been unfolding in Honduras. His arrest has sparked debates about whether his rights are being violated; the future of Honduran institutions involved in the narco-state; and how his supporters, including the US and Canadian governments, should be held accountable for supporting a violent, narco-regime. For the first segment, Austin Pelli, co-host of Fault Lines - which you can hear every day Monday through Friday, from 7:00a-10:00a ET here on Radio Sputnik, calls in from Ottawa, Canada to give us an on-the-ground perspective covering the Freedom Convoy. Austin describes the scene as being friendly and festive. Ottawa police have been supportive of the protest, and participants in the convoy are compliant with law enforcement. Each weekend, more people show up to the protest, yet pandemic mandates are slated to be lifted by the end of February.Next, Kimberly Dvorak, award-winning investigative journalist, calls in from Virginia to talk with Michelle and John about the latest development in Russia over tensions in the Ukraine. There are a great number of developments on Ukraine today: President Putin met this morning with Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz, which was after Scholz met with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Both sides stressed economic ties, and Scholz said that Europe's borders are inviolable. Putin, for his part, said that he does not want or seek war in Europe. At the bottom of the first hour, John Kane, Mohawk activist, educator, producer and host of the Let's Talk Native podcast, and co-host of Resistance Radio on WBAI Pacifica Radio NY, joins the show to talk about the Interior Department reviewing deaths in custody of native people at tribal detention centers overseen by the department. According to an investigation published last summer, at least 19 men and women have died in these detention centers since 2016.Terry Collingsworth, executive director of International Rights Advocates and labor/human rights attorney specializing in trade and international labor rights issues, joins Michelle and John to talk about the National Labor Relations Board's findings about how Amazon has treated union organizers in its warehouses and what it has been ordered to do. The Board's findings follow after Amazon workers in Alabama voted for a second time whether or not to unionize. During the last hour, Bruce Fein, former associate deputy Attorney General of the United States and a renowned constitutional scholar, catches up with the Misfits to discuss a recent court decision regarding Sarah Palin. A New York judge yesterday said that he will dismiss a lawsuit brought against the New York Times by Republican former vice presidential nominee and Alaska governor Sarah Palin. He said that Palin's legal team did not prove a key element of the case, that the New York Times intended “actual malice.” But in a very unusual decision, the judge said that he will allow the jury to continue deliberating over a verdict, and that he will dismiss that verdict once it has done so. This seems like an easy win for the Times. But, the judge seems to be preparing for an inevitable appeal and he wants both his own reasoning and the jury's reasoning on the record, according to Fein. For the last segment, Dan Kovalik, labor attorney, human rights activist, and author whose latest book is called "Cancel This Book: The Progressive Case Against Cancel Culture," joins the show to talk about the latest out of Honduras. The United States yesterday formally requested the arrest and extradition to the US of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez. The Justice Department accuses the former president of trafficking drugs into the United States. His brother Tony was convicted of trafficking last year and sentenced to life without parole. The Honduran Supreme Court will meet today to decide whether to extradite Orlando Hernandez. Orlando Hernandez is not new to corruption. There have been credible, serious reports that he was a major drug trafficker going back to 2015.
In this segment of By Any Means Necessary, Sean and Jacquie are joined by Vicki Cervantes, North America Coordinator of the Honduras Solidarity Network to discuss the arrest of former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernandez, the organized crime, narcotics, and corruption that flourished under Hernandez and the blind eye that the US turned because of his service to capital, what looms for Hernandez in his trial, which will be overseen by a judge who is a member of Hernandez's party, and the destruction that current president Xiomara Castro has inherited from Hernandez's presidency.

Niższe dochody w prawie połowie gospodarstw domowych i dwukrotnie większy braki bezpieczeństwa żywnościowego - w takim stanie z epidemii Covid-19 wychodzą Ameryka Łacińska i Karaiby. Według raportu Banku Światowego i Programu Narodów Zjednoczonych ds. Rozwoju sytuacja uległa poprawie po złagodzeniu obostrzeń sanitarnych. Jednocześnie posunęły się naprzód kampanie szczepień. Mocno ucierpiały Kolumbia, Brazylia i Ekwador. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/radiownet/message
