SEVENTEEN PEOPLE were shot dead at a high school in Parkland, Florida this week. Accused shooter Nikolas Cruz reportedly heard voices in his head that told him how to carry out the attack. THE SITUATION became a lot more tense in the shadow of Mount Hermon over the weekend. An Israeli F-16 was shot down by anti-aircraft fire Saturday after striking Iranian targets deep inside Syria. Earlier Saturday, Israel shot down an Iranian drone after it crossed into Israeli airspace. Israel retaliated for the loss of the F-16 and both sides are rattling sabers. THE MEMO released by the House Intelligence Committee Friday summarizes the evidence behind the biggest scandal in Washington, D.C. since Watergate -- or at least it should be. You wouldn't know it from reports about the memo in the mainstream media. We discuss a disturbing chain of events that reads like the plot of a Tom Clancy novel: Ten days after the election in November, 2016, the Director of the NSA, Admiral Mike Rogers, apparently briefed Donald Trump on the FBI's illegal use of NSA intercepts to spy on his campaign, which led the Trump transition team to abandon Trump Tower two weeks after the election. The day after Trump moved out of New York, a story leaked to the Washington Post revealed that members of Barack Obama's cabinet were urging President Obama to fire Admiral Rogers. Further, evidence of the FBI's abuses convinced the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that the Bureau violated the Fourth Amendment rights of U.S. citizens by providing raw FISA information to private contractors -- one of which was presumably Fusion-GPS, the company that assembled the infamous Steele dossier (paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign) that was used to secure a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. This outrageous politicization of the Department of Justice by the Obama administration goes far beyond the scandal that brought down President Richard Nixon. NO, NOT HILLARY'S illegal email server. That was bad enough, but we're talking about the use of America's intelligence community by one political party against another. Specifically, evidence suggests that the Hillary Clinton campaign paid a private contractor, Fusion-GPS, to compile the bogus dossier used by the FBI to get a warrant from the FISA court to justify spying on the Trump campaign. Thing is, it appears Fusion-GPS used NSA surveillance data to assemble the dossier the FBI used to get permission to spy on the Trump campaign. Think about that. The FBI, NSA, and other elements within the American intelligence community were deployed by the Obama administration to try to put Hillary Clinton into the White House. Weaponizing America's surveillance apparatus for political goals is way more threatening than Vladimir Putin.
