Jeremy D. Baker is a former US Army counterintelligence agent and combat veteran. He's served alongside US Special Forces in Afghanistan and is a PTSD survivor. Over the past 20 years, his work in national security has focused on intelligence, counterterrorism, transnational organized crime, human trafficking, climate risk and resilience, and cybersecurity. That experience was an integral part in the writing of his debut novel, “The Guilty Sleep,” out in print, e-book and audiobook this May. Here's a look at the story: Afghanistan vet Dexter Grant is broke, reeling from PTSD, and on the verge of divorce when he's approached by his old Army buddies to help rescue their former interpreter, the man who once saved Dex's life. It means ripping off a vicious queenpin's drug proceeds — but not to worry, they have it all worked out. And if anyone can pull it off, it's Dex's former team lead, Staff Sgt. Saenz. Tempted by an easy score that could make his own problems disappear and imbued with new purpose, Dex agrees to play his part. But just as in combat, the best-laid plans don't survive first contact with the enemy. When the heist goes off the rails, Dex's wife and daughter become targets for bloody revenge. Dex must face down his spiraling inner darkness and call on all his strength and training to save his girls. In his quest, he'll learn there was much more to this heist than he ever imagined. Jeremy holds nothing back as he talks about how his time in the Army and working with the government helped shape his protagonist and the story itself. He talks about the elements he sought to avoid, so as to keep the story more authentic. He also goes into how writing helped him deal with the challenges he faces today. His book has received a lot of advance praise, including Lee Child, who called it “A terrific debut—fast, tough and hard, shot through with hard-won authenticity and deep humanity.” Jeremy shares his reaction to this and how, as an author, it feels to receive such high praise. Jeremy is an avid reader and name-drops quite a bit, which of course leads us to ask about his favorite authors and dream collaborations. He's a big horror fan and we go into a potential shift to this genre and the type of book he'd like to write. And naturally, we talk about a potential future for Dexter Grant in other stories.

Gene Decode discusses the pioneering work of William Milton Cooper, former US Naval Intelligence briefing officer, in revealing the extent to which a secret government has been set up and operates out of DUMBs located throughout the US and worldwide. Decode reveals the extent to which human trafficking occurs either for Satanists who require living subjects for sacrificial rituals in DUMBs or for genetic experiments conducted by extraterrestrials as part of secret agreements.Decode also discusses how Draco Reptilians use battles with human supersoldiers as a rite of passage for their young warriors as depicted in the Predator movies. He next discusses ancient technologies found underneath Ukraine, which are a factor in NATO's proxy war against Russia. Significantly, he added that such ancient technologies included a functional space ark.Gene Decode became interested in Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBs) in the 1990s while completing his service in the US Navy as a senior NCO with 20+ years of experience. Read our book, The Score That Matters https://amzn.to/3XxHi7p Full show notes at www.LearningLeader.com Michael Easter's investigations have taken him to meet with monks in ancient monasteries in Bhutan, lost tribes in the jungles of Bolivia, US Special Forces soldiers in undisclosed locations, gene scientists in Iceland, CEOs in Fortune-500 boardrooms, and more. He's a professor at UNLV and he's the best-selling author of The Comfort Crisis and Scarcity Brain. “The modern world is designed for short-term survival and pleasure. It is not set up to help us thrive in the long term.” “Have fun, don't die, read books, and do strange things.” Be a 2 percenter. 98% of people do the easy thing. We are programmed to do the easy thing. The world was uncomfortable a while ago... It makes sense to do the easy thing. You get the short-term reward for it. Handle adversity, adapt, do the slightly harder thing Some ideas: do walking meetings, work in silence, embrace hunger, don't cut corners, pick up the trash, call people on the phone. Ruck the airport. Don't sit down, walk. Read while exercising. Workout outside. Sprint. Lift weights. The ability to move a limb quickly is what helps old people not fall. Need to be powerful and springy to move quickly (and not fall). Diet - One ingredient foods. Tribe in Bolivia with the healthiest hearts in the world. Be outside, eat one ingredient foods. Scarcity brain - We all suck at moderation. We overconsume... Casinos, slot machines. Quick, repeatable, predictable. The speed makes it powerful. Silicon Valley learned this from casinos and it's how they build their apps. The smartphone withdrawal effect. Worse in short term. Better in the long term. Break bad habits - Slow down. Respond, don't react. Wait 72 hours to buy the thing in your online cart. Junk food is super easy to eat fast. It was designed that way. Your body doesn't know it's full because of the speed. What did Michael learn from a tribe in a Bolivian jungle? They seemed very happy. What did they do? They ate single-ingredient food. They spent a lot of time outside. And they spent a lot of time together. What can we learn from that? Eat healthy, go outside, and spend time with people you love. “A lot of problems are not our fault, but they are our problems to solve.” Remember, we are wired to choose the escalator, fast food or to cut the corner. We need to be intentional in taking the stairs, slowing down, and responding instead of reacting. How the scarcity loop works: It has three parts: opportunity, unpredictable rewards, and quick repeatability. Becoming aware of it can help you fall into it less often. Michael has been sober for 9 years. His drinking addiction stemmed from having a boring life (job he didn't like). Needed to explore the edges. Booze did that for him. Iraq - Sandstorm. We don't read books here. We don't have that luxury. We have too many problems to deal with. In America, we live in a country where we can read books.

Among DeCode's network of contacts was a British MI6 operative who shared information corroborating the disclosures of whistlelblowers such as James Casbolt concerning the capture and abuse of children in DUMBs for many purposes. DeCode learned that children were used for portal travel, space-time experiments, sex-industry, genetic experiments, and adrenochrome harvesting. He claims that Special Forces from the US and other countries are working with extraterrestrials and Inner Earth civilizations to find and rescue the children. Many battles have occurred in DUMBs throughout the world to liberate children and other captives in DUMBs. DeCode claims that seismic activities around the planet mark battles at various DUMBs where children are being rescued by the Earth Alliance and their Non-Human Intelligence allies. DeCode asserts that once rescued, most of the children cannot be repatriated to surface humanity due to the horrific abuses and genetic changes they have undergone. Instead, they are taken to off-planet locations to be cared for until surface humanity is ready to learn the full truth of what they have suffered in the DUMBs and can be repatriated without further harm or repercussions. Send us a Text Message. On this episode of Fabulous Film and Friends we are looking back at two middling, lackluster sci-fi adventures from 1994 that have mysteriously stood the test of time: Stargate, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Kurt Russell, James Spader, John Diehl, Jaye Davidson, Viveca Lindfors, Erick Avari, Alexis Cruz, Mili Avital, Leon Rippey, French Stewart, and Djimon Hounsou, which was released in October of ‘94 then Star Trek: Generations which was released a month later, was directed by David Carson and starred Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Levar Burton, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, Gates McFaddon, Malcolm McDowell, Walter Koenig, James Doohan and William Shatner. I'm Gino Caputi your host, and back for more, especially if Star Trek is to be discussed I have series regular and IT tech Burton Brown, and representing the fresh eyes of the younger, non-cynical generation, author hypnotherapist Joe Field. The synopses: In Stargate, a crack squad of US Special Forces led by Colonel Jack O'Neill with an assist from archeologist Dr. Daniel Jackson travel through a mysterious circular dimensional portal that was discovered in Giza Egypt in 1928 and kept a secret by the military until the mysteries of the portal could be unlocked. Once on the other side, Jackson and O'Neil discover they are on the planet Abydos with a culture very similar to ancient Egypt. There they befriend the locals and do battle with the god Ra, revealed to be an alien who has enslaved humans on this planet and is intent on destroying the human race on Earth through the Stargate. In Star Trek Generations a single-minded, pleasure-seeking and murderous Dr. Tholian Soran attempts to destroy an entire solar system in order to get back into a heaven-like, temporal portal in the universe called The Nexus. It is up to the crew of the Starship Enterprise D, led by Captain Jean Luc Picard to stop Soran. Unfortunately, Picard proves to be too weak for the task and finds his ship and crew destroyed, the mission failed and he himself is trapped in the Nexus. Except…Captain James T. Kirk is also in the Nexus having landed in it 78 years earlier the Enterprise B encountered The Nexus on a rescue mission. Picard and Kirk join forces, leave the Nexus and stop Soran through the power of team work. San Francisco Chronicle Film Critic Mick LaSalle, when summarizing the 1994 Year in Film wrote, “In 20 years will anyone still be watching Stargate? Or Star Trek Generations?” I agreed with him wholeheartedly that these films were nothing but forgettable, but here we 30 years later and are still watching these works. Add to that, Stargate has had five spinoff TV series on the subject and they're still planning cinematic reboots. Star Trek Generations was listed implausibly as a one of the great epics in the 2004 book Epic movies and will forever be remembered as the film that killed off Captain Kirk. So, the burning question is WHY have these films endured? Find out! There is a surprising factor that limits your leadership potential – Unresolved trauma. Trauma is a disruption of the patterns our brains trust to navigate life. Dr.Julia DiGangi is a neuropsychologist who completed her clinical training at a consortium of Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs. She has nearly two decades of experience studying the connection between our brains and our behavior. Dr. DiGangi has worked with leaders at the White House Press Office, global companies, international NGOs, and US Special Forces. Her understanding of stress, trauma, and resilience is also informed by her work in international development and humanitarian aid, where she served some of the world's most vulnerable communities. The founder of NeuroHealth Partners, a neuropsychology-based consultancy, DiGangi shows people—at work and at home—how to harness the power of the brain to lead more satisfying and emotionally intelligent lives. Key Takeaways The Brain's Role: The brain is fundamentally a pattern detection machine, moving us through life largely unconsciously based on past memories and experiences. Trauma Shatters Patterns: Trauma is defined as the violent shattering of expected patterns, causing confusion because it disrupts the brain's meaning-making process. The pain of trauma lies not so much in what happened, but in our response to it - the belief that we are never safe again or can never trust again. Suppressing Emotions Clogs the Nervous System: When we avoid feeling painful emotions, we "shove them down" repeatedly, leading to a lifetime of a clogged emotional pipe or nervous system. Leaders are Limited by Unresolved Trauma: A leader's primary limitation is their inability to see and deal with their past traumas. Childhood survival strategies that were once adaptive can constrain adult leadership. Trust is the Antidote to Uncertainty: The brain is allergic to uncertainty, but seeking external certainty only breeds more anxiety. The opposite of uncertainty is not certainty but surrender and trust. How do we learn to own our triggers, stop blaming our partner, overcome jealousy, and heal toxicity in our relationships? 'Emotions are the Google Maps of your relationship', according to today's guest, Dr. Julia DiGangi. And instead of ignoring our profound innate intelligence, we need to learn to guide our behavior in more intelligent ways. This starts with developing radical self-love, acceptance, and attunement, as we use our past adversity to empower ourselves and take greater personal responsibility as we navigate a life where we don't get stuck emotionally. On Today's Podcast, You'll Learn: - What are our (unrealistic) expectations of our partner? - How do we stop blaming our partner? - Understanding YOUR trigger as energy for change - How do we deal with our triggers? - The importance of radical self-love and acceptance - How can we overcome jealousy? - Understanding our survival instinct - What makes a relationship toxic, and how can you heal the toxicity? - What is emotional power? - The 8 Neural Energetic Codes For more information, visit https://myersdetox.com/drjuliadigangi How Toxic Are You? Heavy metals like lead, arsenic, mercury, and aluminum never went away. They are still present in home building materials, furniture, food, beverages, and more. Finding ways to reduce exposure to these heavy metals (and many more) is incredibly important. To do that effectively, people first need to know which heavy metals they are being exposed to — if any. This quiz was designed to evaluate individual risk factors for heavy metal exposure, and to gauge whether getting tested for heavy metals is recommended or not. Believe it or not, there are simple at-home tests people can take if they are being exposed — this quiz will determine if it's worth it to take one.

Ron DeSantis on Saturday reiterated his pledge to send US Special Forces into Mexico to confront drug cartels if he is elected president, saying, “We are going to act.” Speaking to reporters at Saturday's first stop of the “Never Back Down” bus tour through Iowa, the Republican presidential hopeful said, “It's humiliating to see the cartels have that type of control. They are effectively invading our country and killing our people.” The Florida governor first addressed the issue Wednesday night at the GOP presidential debate. When asked whether he would support sending Special Forces into Mexico, DeSantis answered clearly: “Yes, and I will do it on day one.” Related article: https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/26/politics/desantis-special-forces-mexico/index.html Our Guests For This Week: CJ (vanguardigan): https://www.tiktok.com/@vanguardigan Independent Thought is joining with Counterpoint Politics, Cocktails and Capitalism & Power Is Taken Not given, to create a brand new show - The Left Wing Firstly, yes, Independent Thought is still going to continue, this is an additional show that I'll be a part of. We begin a series on Emotional Power. Everyday life happens around us. We judge it all by how we feel about it, and we naturally trust and believe our experience. My guest today however says it's our emotions that are the final judge of all our experiences. Not fact. Not our logic. But our emotions. To take it further she cites, “The very meaning in your life is determined by the emotions you have about it.” And what you're about to learn is you have perceptions and resulting patterns programmed into your mind that are influencing how you perceive life overall, good and bad. Of course it's the bad patterns that are sabotaging you, and this is our focus today, as we can correct these patterns. My expert guest on the topic is Dr. Julia DiGangi. Dr DiGangi is a neuropsychologist, who completed her residency at Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, and the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and she is the author of a new book called Energy Rising: The Neuroscience of Leading with Emotional Power. Dr DiGangi has nearly two decades of experience studying the connection between our brains and our behavior and has worked with leaders around the world including the White House Press Office and the US Special Forces. Dr DiGangi shows people—at work and at home—how to harness the power of the brain to lead more satisfying and emotionally intelligent lives. We live in a world where science and emotions are viewed as radically disparate things and I have Dr DiGangi, here to dispel that.
