Hey Voices from the Bench community! Jessica Love here, sending a shoutout from Utah! If you're passionate about creating natural, beautiful smiles—but want to simplify your workflow without sacrificing aesthetics—this is for you. I'm honored to be part of Ivoclar's development team introducing a powerful new stain and glaze system featuring Structure Paste, IPS e.max Ceram Art. Create stunning depth and lifelike color in as little as one firing. Let's continue to innovate, simplify, and create meaningful change—one smile at a time. When it comes to digital dentures, design is easy—manufacturing is where things get messy. That's why the Elevate Denture Solution brings it all together. Built by Roland DGSHAPE, Ivoclar, and FOLLOW-ME! Technology Group, it combines machine, materials, and CAM into one fully optimized workflow—so you get consistent, high-quality results without the guesswork. Want to simplify production and scale with confidence? Check it out at rollanddga.com/elevate. Live from LMT Lab Day Chicago, Elvis and Barb bring the mics to the Ivoclar stage for three very different conversations that all point to one big theme—this industry is evolving fast, and you better evolve with it. First up, Savannah Elkins and Josh Williams from GPS Digital RPD jump into the digital removable world, where analog roots meet full-on additive workflows. Savannah shares how she went from pouring models to cranking out 100+ RPD frameworks a day, learning design in record time through hands-on training and a little “YouTube University.” The conversation dives into printed frameworks, flexible materials, and the push toward becoming a full lab-to-lab removable resource. It's fast, it's scalable, and yes… they absolutely test durability by throwing, stepping on, and possibly feeding things to alligators. Next, Darin McCue from SalesLift Consulting flips the script and talks about what's really holding labs back—and it's not production. With a mix of passion and hard truth, Darin explains that most lab owners aren't failing because they can't make teeth—they're failing because they don't run a business. From leadership and communication to sales and team culture, he challenges owners to step off the bench and into a leadership role before burnout or failure forces the issue. His message is clear: if you don't work on your business, it will eventually work against you. Finally, Vicki Thomas and Carrie Ling bring a completely different energy, focused on community, collaboration, and leveling the playing field for smaller labs. Vicki shares the story behind launching Savvy Lab Solutions, a buying group built to give small and mid-sized labs access to the same pricing and vendor relationships as the big players. Carrie backs it up with real-world experience, explaining how vendors now proactively reach out with discounts and new products—saving time, money, and opening doors she didn't even know existed. The conversation highlights the power of partnerships, word-of-mouth growth, and the realization that 78% of the industry is made up of labs that have historically been overlooked. Today, we're diving into the Redding Police Department's 2024 Crime Statistics Year-End Review — and it's packed with significant developments. The department responded to over 109,000 calls for service, a 6.6% increase from the previous year. Arrests also hit a new record, with more than 11,000 total, including a 32% rise in misdemeanor arrests. But before you start panicking that crime in Redding has hit a new high, we're pleased to report just the opposite. Despite an expanded crime reporting system (NIBRS), violent and property crimes dropped by about 21% each — a strong sign of progress. And the rise in misdemeanor arrests is directly attributed to more policing with a focus on quality of life issues. Which, depending on your perspective, makes Redding a safer city.To unpack all these details, today's guest is Kristen Gurley, the person who tracks, analyzes, and organizes these statistics for the Redding Police Department. We'll ask her all about the switch to the NIBRS system, how the limited jail space affects our crime stats, and how it's possible that with all the extra arrests on the quality of life issues, our overall statistics have gone down. All in all, a busy year for Redding Police — but one that shows measurable impact in both public safety and enforcement. So, stay tuned as we learn more about how RPD is working hard to keep Redding as safe as possible.Read the transcript here>>Contact the City of Redding Podcast Team Email us at podcast@cityofredding.org Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Visit the City of Redding website Love the podcast? The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. Now, Thielmann is speaking out about the incident, his long road to recovery, and how the near-fatal encounter has redefined his life, career, and mission. Listen to the interview with him as a Free Podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. The shooting occurred around 12:15 a.m. near Sierra Trail and Summerfield Drive in Romeoville. Thielmann and fellow officers had been investigating a stolen vehicle when the suspect bolted, prompting a pursuit that ended in a harrowing exchange of gunfire. Thielmann was struck, leaving him with injuries so severe they would ultimately end his career in law enforcement. Police Shot During A Chase, Career Ending Injuries. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium, Blogspot and Linkedin. Despite his wounds, Thielmann survived. He was rushed to a Hospital in Maywood, where doctors stabilized him. Authorities later charged the suspect with armed robbery and set bond at $5 million, without the option of the usual 10% release. In a public statement, the Romeoville Police Department expressed its appreciation for the overwhelming support Thielmann and his family received. “The Romeoville Police Department would like to express sincere gratitude to those who have shown their support for Officer Thielmann and his family,” the department said in a news release. The Village of Romeoville, located about 26 miles southwest of Chicago in Will County, rallied around Thielmann. Community members, law enforcement colleagues, and officials alike offered support. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium and most all social media platforms. "The staff and the community really came together to support Dominic and our RPD family. We couldn't be more thankful," said Village Manager Dawn Caldwell. After six years with the department, most recently as a tactical officer in the Investigations Unit, Thielmann's days in uniform are now behind him. But his commitment to public service remains stronger than ever. “I can't do the job the way I used to,” he shared. “But that doesn't mean I'm done making an impact.” Thielmann has since redirected his energy toward helping others through Beyond The Dispatch, a podcast he co-created to share the stories of first responders and highlight the mental, emotional, and physical toll their careers can take. He uses his platform to shine a light on critical but often stigmatized issues like PTSD, trauma, and suicide among law enforcement officers and other emergency personnel. Police Shot During A Chase, Career Ending Injuries. The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. “I've had so many officers, firefighters, and dispatchers reach out through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), just to say thank you for talking about the things we're usually afraid to admit we're feeling,” Thielmann said. Through Beyond The Dispatch, Thielmann not only recounts his own experiences but also provides a space for others to share theirs. The podcast has become a growing social media presence and a trusted resource for first responders across the country. He admits that there are still many details about the shooting he cannot legally discuss due to the ongoing court proceedings, but he doesn't shy away from describing the pain, both physical and emotional, that followed the incident. Check out the show on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms. “The doctors told me I was lucky to be alive. The shot to my face could've ended it all,” he said. “I wake up every day with the effects of what happened. The injuries will never fully heal. But I choose to make them part of my purpose.” Thielmann's story is a sobering reminder of the risks police officers face daily. But it's also a story of resilience, transformation, and purpose after trauma. What could have ended his life has instead fueled a mission to support others in uniform. Police Shot During A Chase, Career Ending Injuries. “I may no longer wear the badge,” he said, “but I'll never stop serving.” You can follow Dominic Thielmann's journey and hear the the interview with him as a free Podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website als on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or most major podcast platforms.
