Everyone Freeze! This is a stick up! Don't anybody move! Thinking Toy Story aren't you? Well you should be. This week we are taking the law into our own hands. We are dealing with an issue that is always on the underbelly of the running world. That being Bandits! Yes, there are bandits among us, but they aren't wearing bandanas and holding up steam locomotives. They are running races that maybe they shouldn't be. So let's talk about these bandits and bring them to justice!
We're flying through September! This week is a classic stop for us. We had two races, one of which being the famous and fourteen year old Plaza 10k. Saturday we ran a new race. The Pathway to Parenthood 5k which was a great morning. This week we're going to talk about the hatred in the running world. It's silly, but unfortunately it's a thing. So be ready to look at others, but also take a peak in yourself when it comes to how we can be a better and more supportive running community.
On the TimeformUS Forecast, David is joined by Mike Beer to handicap Saturday's mandatory payout Pick-5 at Belmont at the Big A, including the Man O' War, Peter Pan, and Runhappy. This podcast is powered by ZenCast.fm

Welcome to our first episode recorded in English! Yes, we did it. A lot of Latin accent, and a great guest. Mike Alcaide is a Six Star Abbott Finisher, on his way to complete the challenge twice. He's decided to help fellow "boricua" runners to be with him in this elite group of runners. How he started in the sport? Why? And what fuels him to go for more. Also an in-depth discussion about the six world majors and the way he was able to run all of them.Don't miss it! Trainer Tells, what are they and how do you spot them?On this episode of Past the Wire's podcast, Gate to Wire brought to you by Spendthrift Farm and Kingdom Nutrition Company, we once again offer one of those Harvard Education lessons on handicapping and insight on improving your game regardless of the level you are at. We can make you a better bettor!Hosts Michael Vale and Pick 6 King Jonathan Stettin get into an interesting discussion on trainer tells, and how some telegraph their intentions. Knowing a trainer's intentions with a horse is valuable and can give you a significant edge or leg up on your competition. Trainers have tells and once you learn them it is like knowing what Teddy KGB had when he chomped those oreos in Rounders. Michael picks Jon's brain on tell's and how to spot and how to capitalize on them. If you are new in your handicapping journey, or just want to get better or closer to that small group who beat this game this is a show you will not want to miss. Of course we have some other fun and interesting banter between our hosts on everything from MMA to boxing to the three year old crop and the best early look you will hear on the Bob Baffert Kentucky Derby. RunHappy has nothing on Bob as far as we are concerned. Sit back and enjoy the show:

Shadrack Biwott is not just one of the most elite marathoners in the world; he is also an incredible person. Shadrack was born and raised in Kenya. He ran barefoot for most of his life, until he received his first pair of running shoes as a gift from his older brothers. Since then, Shadrack immigrated to the US where he was one of the top collegiate runners at the University of Oregon. He now races for Team USA and the esteemed Hansons-Brooks team, as one of the top marathoners in the world. He placed fifth in the NYC Marathon, fourth in the Boston Marathon and then third in the Boston Marathon. I asked Shadrack what he thinks about when he's in the final miles of a marathon-- when it really hurts and anything can happen. He said he thinks to "Run Happy" and to remember that he's running for something bigger than himself. In this spirit, Shadrack has also become a strong supporter of the Brooks Booster Club which has given out over $1 million in free gear to underfunded high school track and cross-country teams. Being involved with the Booster Club, getting to actually deliver the gear to students is especially meaningful to Shadrack-- especially as he remembers what it was like to receive his first pair of running shoes. Most of all, Shadrack radiates an incredible energy. You'll probably be able to hear his smile on this podcast. I'm grateful to him for taking the time to walk with me and share his story with all of us. I'm sure you'll all be as inspired by him as I am. #RunHappy #EveryMileMatters

Over the last 35 years, Wayne Levy has run more than 100,000 miles. What does he do when he’s not out running more than halfway to the Moon? He serves on the Boston Athletic Association Board of Governors and the Advisory Board for Back on My Feet Boston, and he manages RunBoston, a company that provides historical running tours in Boston. Bryan and Peter get Wayne to give them the lowdown on the benefits of running a “daily dime,” find out what happened the first time Wayne attempted to run the Boston Marathon, and go in-depth on ways to avoid injury. Plus, Peter provides an update on Week 4 of the Clyde Army Countdown. http://www.runboston.org
HWYRT is back in the WGBH Studio at the Boston Public Library, which triggers a memory for Bryan. Peter continues his training for the Boston Marathon. And Bryan gets a kick out of Peter’s habit of always working toward the .2 of 26.2 miles. Then they are joined by veteran runner, and Executive Director of Back On My Feet, Theresa Lynn. Back on My Feet, a national organization operating in 12 major cities coast to coast, combats homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources. They talk up goals and sub-goals, possible upcoming races, and how they both hope to avoid injury. Sit back and enjoy this “listen-in” on what the weekend was all about. A huge “thank you” to both Social Media Guru Anna Brooks and Artist-in-Residence Andrea Bonney Gould for making the trek north.
