Matt Sates and Pieter Coetze are South Africa's brightest swimming talents. The pair, both African record holders are based at the University of Pretoria under the guidance of legendary coach Rocco Meiring, they have made a big splash so far in their fledgeling careers with Sates winning World Short Course gold in 2022 while Coetze claimed gold, silver and bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The two friends are inseparable and have some rather interesting views on life.

Heading into the 2023 championship season, the Georgia men's team looks very different at the top than in 2022. Gone is NCAA and Short Course World Champion Matthew Sates, and following a shoulder injury suffered mid race at the Indianapolis World Cup last fall, the Dawgs are without NCAA & American record holder Luca Urlando. That's a lot of points to replace, but 2021 NCAA 500 free Champion Jake Magahey will lead this UGA men's team and both Jake and Luca Urlando are confident in the ability of the rest of the squad to step up, as evidenced by the level of training they showcase in Athens on a daily basis. Jake Magahey will look to take advantage of the absence of both Sates and Florida star Olympian Kieran Smith in the distance events. Luca Urlando is at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado doing rehab and preparing his body for a push toward the 2024 Olympic Trials. While many miles apart, these roommates stay connected and speak of the great impact Luca Urlando still has on his UGA teammates while he's away. Enjoy!

After one semester at Georgia, South Africa's Matt Sates, who owns a trio of World Junior Records, has decided to end his very brief NCAA career. This morning, Sates turned pro, signing with the Newton Agency, and will be returning to his hometown of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa to train. Sates had only arrived at the University of Georgia in the U.S. in January, spending roughly 3 months with the Bulldogs before making this decision. The price of tomato has reached a never-before high of Rs 140 per kg in some parts of the country, including more than Rs 100 in Telangana. But the prices are expected to come down next month. According to the ministry of consumer affairs, food and distribution, the all-India average retail price of Tomato has been on the rise from the end of September 2021 due to unseasonal rains in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh which led to crop damage and delay in arrival from these Sates. Formed around the duo of Pete Hobbs (music) and singer Jof Owen (left) 'The Boy Least Likely To' released their debut album in 2005 and found more success in the Sates than the UK The follow up “the law of the playground” was held back for two years due to legal reasons and its only now that they’re able to promote it. On their UK tour they played an excellent gig at the Joiners in Southampton and afterwards singer Jof spoke to us about their songs, America and all that legal stuff.
