(IT DOESN'T EXIST?!)Rep. Thomas Massie revealed the FBI "did not have any video footage" from the DNC Headquarters on January 6th that would have captured the so-called pipe bomber.
A contentious and rather evasive at times testimony by Acting Secret Service Chief Ronald Rowe in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee exposed more flaws within the agency's handling of the Trump rally in Butler, PA where an assassination attempt was made on the former President's life. The world swelters under record heat. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) discusses roadblocks to climate change legislation. Tomorrow marks 500 days since Russia launched its brutal invasion into Ukraine. The White House takes credit for jobs growth as polling shows most Americans disapprove of President Biden's economic policy. LIV Golf is under scrutiny from lawmakers as the Senate Homeland Security Committee is set to hear testimony on its pending merger with the PGA Tour.
The FBI and the intelligence arm of the Department of Homeland Security failed to adequately assess the severity of threats leading up to Jan. 6 and, often, to formally alert others to the dangers ahead of time, according to a report released Tuesday by the Senate Homeland Security Committee. On Monday's broadcast of the Fox News Channel's “Fox & Friends,” House Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) discussed claims by whistleblowers about the Hunter Biden investigation and noted that President Joe Biden has previously “lied” about his family's business dealings when he claimed that his son never made money in China. The latest whistleblower reports about the business dealings of the Biden family sound less like a mere whistle and more like a five-alarm fire bell. Thousands of Haitians and other migrants have been camped under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas. Amid the surge at the Texas border, the Biden administration said it is increasing the number of deportation flights to Haiti and resources to the area. President Biden on Tuesday pledged to get the situation "under control" following his speech at the United Nations General Assembly. Meanwhile, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insisted that the U.S. borders are closed during a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing. Former Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf joins to discuss the recent migrant surge and what would needed to be done to actually get the border under control. He also weighs in on the photo of a mounted Border Patrol agent allegedly whipping a migrant. On Tuesday, September 21st. U.S. Senators were able to speak with top U.S. national security officials - FBI Director Christopher Wray, National Counterterrorism Director Christine Abizaid, and DHS Secretary Mayorkas - about how terror threats to the U.S. have evolved over the last 20 years. Many senators cited Afghanistan as the main potential source of terror, with the U.S. already experiencing suicide-bomb attacks from ISIS-K during the military withdrawal military from Afghanistan. Fox News Congressional Correspondent Aishah Hasnie covered the Senate hearing and joined to explain how the testimony revealed the risk ISIS-K and al-Qaeda now pose to the United States, how the recent U.S. drone strike suggested a failure of America's "over the horizon" capabilities and the need for intelligence to assess terror risk from Afghanistan. Hasnie also spoke about how allies in Afghanistan are frustrated and unsure as a result of the U.S. evacuation process and how women in Afghanistan have had their way of life turned upside down now that the Taliban has assumed control. Plus, commentary by Fox News contributor Liz Peek.

In this episode of CHATTINN CYBER, Marc Schein interviews Michael A.L. Balboni, CEO of Redland Strategies Inc. Prior to Redland Strategies, Mike worked as a New York State Senator and chairman of Homeland Security and Law Enforcement committee. Born in Burns Town New York, Mike studied law and had a unique experience of serving in the New York State Senate for 10 years. Afterward, he went to Albany where he was appointed the first chairman of the Senate homeland security committee. As a chairman of the 9/11 homeland security committee, he learned all aspects of homeland security including cybersecurity. By acknowledging the risks of chemical plants he created regulations for the infrastructure protection - by passing legislation and supervising the implementation process - by the department of homeland security and emergency services within New York City. His firm, Redland Strategies, assists companies and government agencies to develop and implement security strategies to improve business performance and maximize growth. For example, in the cybersecurity space, he helps companies to develop strategies for data management, data processing, storage, cyber breach issues, threats from an energy perspective (mainly due to sensors that are used for energy digitization which are itself Internet Of Things (IoT) components), etc. Additionally he talks about the threats of malicious-payloads taking over a physical operating system (cross over from IT to OT) - for example manipulation of a nuclear power plant via cyber-attack. This type of threat was faced by the Ukraine in 2017 when their 2 nuclear power plants were disrupted as a result of internet manipulation. Mike also talks about the importance of home network security. He says that it is now more important than ever to secure home networks because our society is moving toward a home-based virtual-workforce and cyber threats are growing continuously. According to the FBI home routers are vulnerable, so it should be everyone's focus to invest in a cyber-infrastructure and cybersecurity. Having said that, everyone should understand that cybersecurity is not a destination, it is a journey; you must continue to evolve because threats are evolving. Lastly, he shares his thoughts about the impact of Covid-19 on large organizations and the accessibility of the Covid-19 vaccine. He talks about sports organizations, they are employing the best strategies to keep their players, coaches, and staff safe. However, sports organizations right now are facing a huge challenge in bringing indoors. Everyone is waiting for the Covid-19 vaccine, but the distribution of a safe vaccine to enough people to bring us back to some sense of normalcy is not going to happen overnight. Topics Discussed in the Podcast The journey of Michael A.L. Balboni's professional life. Balboni's experience of serving at New York State Senate and Senate Homeland Security Committee. Cyber threats from energy perspective and the role of digitization in that. Cyber attacks to take over a physical operating system (cross over from IT to OT). Recent presidential elections' security. Importance of securing home-networks and investing in cyber-infrastructure and cybersecurity. Some fundamental cybersecurity strategies. Perks of working with the best and brightest people. Thoughts about the accessibility of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Saturday marks Juneteenth, when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally got word of their freedom in 1865. This came two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, which despite popular opinion did not automatically free every enslaved person. Washington D.C. was among the first cities to end slavery, doing so in April of 1862, months before President Abraham Lincoln's historic speech. But many D.C. residents argue full democracy and freedom is still out of reach. Saturday marks Juneteenth, when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas finally got word of their freedom in 1865. This came two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is now a federal holiday, signed into law this week by President Joe Biden. In Washington D.C., slaveryactually came to an end before federal emancipation. But today, many D.C. residents argue full democracy and freedom is still out of reach. The city is nowhome to 700,000 people, nearly half of whom are Black. But despite living within arms' reach of the halls of power, residents of the so-called Chocolate City do not have a voting representative in the House or the Senate. That's because D.C. is not a state. For years, activists have beenpushing for statehood; some hope to name it the Douglass Commonwealth, after abolitionist Frederick Douglass. In April, the House of Representatives approved HR-51, which if approved by the Senate, would make D.C. the 51st state. With the Senate Homeland Security Committee set to hold a hearing on D.C. statehood next week, statehood activists say they are closer than ever to achieving their goal. Democrats, including President Biden, are on board. However, with strong GOP opposition, the outcome is anything but certain. George Derek Musgrove, a University of Maryland-Baltimore County history professor, explains that statehood matters because D.C.'s current status means it's controlled by Congress. Residents can elect a mayor and city council, but Congress oversees the city's budget and can block laws it disapproves of. Residents can't dictate their own affairs. One activist working to change this is 22-year-oldJamal Holtz, who grew up in southeast D.C. He's one of the co-founders of 51 for 51, agroup of young people fighting for statehood. People often refer to him D.C.'s “future governor.” One of the people he looks up to is 71-year-old Anise Jenkins. Anise is the founder of Stand Up! for Democracy in DC (Free DC). She's been fighting for D.C. statehood since the 1990s – before Jamal was born. Anise has been arrested nine times as she's protested for statehood, and she's excited to see Jamal's generation carrying on the fight. On Wednesday, the Senate Homeland Security Committee and the Senate Rules Committee held their second hearing to examine the January 6 attack on the Capitol. What explains the delay in deploying National Guard troops? What reforms are the agencies planning to implement in order to better handle the threat posed by domestic extremist violence and white supremacist groups? And why was the intelligence reporting late and insufficient? Four officials from different agencies testified: Melissa Smislova, who performs the duties of the undersecretary of homeland security for intelligence and analysis; Jill Sanborn, assistant director of the FBI counterterrorism division; Robert Salesses, who performs the duties of the assistant secretary for homeland defense and global security at the Defense Department; and Major General William Walker, the commanding general of D.C.'s National Guard. We took out all the nonsense, the opening statements and the repetition, and brought you every question and every answer, only once.
Ivermectin is an anti-parasite drug that has been used in human and animal medicine for many years. Early in the pandemic, it was suggested that it might help prevent and/or treat COVID-19. The NIH felt there was not enough evidence to support its use against COVID-19 and in August made a recommendation AGAINST its use. In early January of 2021, the NIH invited doctors from the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance ( FLCCC), a group of crtical care physicians who strongly advocated for the use of Ivermectin for COVID-19, to present evidence for its use to their Treatment Guidance Panel. Following that meeting, the NIH removed their recommendation against its use, leaving it up to individual doctors. The WHO is currently assessing a new meta-analysis ( in preprint) on the evidence for Ivermectin and should make a ruling on its use soon. One of the doctors to provide testimony on the benefits of Ivermectin is Dr. Pierre Kory, the president of the FLCCC Alliance. He presented evidence to both the NIH and the Senate Homeland Security Committee in a video that has now gone viral and gained millions of views. He joins Dr. Erin Stair on this episode of Causes or Cures to discuss Ivermectin in detail, the current evidence base for its use in treatment and prevention, the dosing riddle, and how he responds to critics. He also discusses how he thinks the future of the pandemic will play out. Dr. Kory is a pulmonary and critical care specialist and considered a world pioneer in the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of critically ill patients. In addition to numerous publications, he developed the first national course in Critical Care Ultrasonography in the US and is the senior editor of the most popular textbook in the field titled "Point of Care Ultrasound." The book is translated into 7 languages worldwide. During the pandemic, he has led ICUS in multiple COVID-19 hotspots, including New York City, Greenville and Milwaukee. He helped author 2 protocols regarding the use of Ivermectin in the treatment and prevention of COVID-19, which you can find here. Early on in the pandemic, he received widespread criticism for promoting the use of dexamethasone as treatment for COVID-19. Month later, and after more research emerged, dexamethasone became a standard part of treatment for COVID-19 patients. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, if sworn in, Joe Biden will be an illegitimate president. The states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Arizona, all had changes made to their election laws that violated the federal Constitution. These states represent 73 electoral college votes. It's a travesty that the Supreme Court has abdicated its duty to uphold the Constitution. Then, Biden and the Democrats lied to America and the media helped them do it. The press covered for Hunter Biden but now they've been exposed. This election has been exposed by Sen. Ron Johnson, Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, who brought in a host of witnesses to highlight the importance of election integrity. Later, Peter Schweizer calls in and explains that Joe and Hunter Biden aren't the only Washington insiders with close ties to China. Sen. Mitch McConnell's wife's family owns a transportation company linked to China. Afterward, Rep Eric Swalwell should be expelled from Congress for his close personal interactions with a Chinese government spy. The committee also authorized subpoenas for Sidney Blumenthal, former Obama chief of staff Denis McDonough, former FBI counsel Lisa Page, former FBI agent Joe Pientka, former ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, former FBI director of counterintelligence Bill Priestap, former White House national security adviser Susan Rice, former FBI agent Peter Strzok, former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith – who pleaded guilty to making a false statement in the first criminal case arising from U.S. Attorney John Durham's review of the investigation into links between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign – among others. On the 18th Anniversary of 9/11, Americans especially media and some politicians seem more intent than ever on sanitizing terrorism and sweeping it under the rug. This was nowhere more apparent than at a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, ironically held at the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum. You would think 9/11 was caused by drunk pilots who lost their way instead of radical Islamists trying to take over America. That day changed Dr. Caroles life. As a born and bred New Yorker, especially moved by the attack, she became The Terrorist Therapist, devoting herself to helping people keep calm and carry on in the face of terror. We are still suffering from the psychological impact of 9/11 and the ongoing threat of terrorism, evident by rising obesity, PTSD, anxiety, depression, insecurity, pessimism, insomnia, substance abuse and even suicide. Dr. Carole is the author of the award winning book, Lions and Tigers and Terrorists, Oh My How to Protect Your Child in a Time of Terror.
With Cyber-conflict on the rise, as well as global terrorism, we speak with Senator Maggie Hassan about her work on the Senate Homeland Security Committee to help protect the US against these types of attacks. We also talk with the Founding Dean of the School of Global Learning at SNHU to discuss the vision for a more globalized campus, right here in Manchester, NH.

An FBI lawyer texted a bureau agent that then-President Obama “wants to know everything we’re doing” — a message that a Senate committee suggested could refer to the federal investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails. The messages shared between attorney Lisa Page and her lover and bureau colleague Peter Strzok were released Wednesday by the Senate Homeland Security Committee, which provides oversight of the bureau, and is chaired by GOP Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. In one exchange, Page wrote to Strzok in September, 2016 about prepping FBI Director James Comey on talking points for an update he was planning to give Obama that said: “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.” Tensions between Republicans and Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee have reportedly become so hostile that GOP members of the committee are planning to build a literal wall separating the two parties’ staffers. Donald Trump says he will fix the Affordable Care Act in his first 100 days as president. But even he has said the job won't be easy. On this episode of Indivisible, conservative host Charlie Sykes speaks with Senate Homeland Security Committee chair Ron Johnson about whether he feels the proposed American Health Care Act will actually be an improvement on Obamacare. He’ll also weigh in on the ongoing travel ban debate, and take your calls. Senator Johnson is also a member of the Senate committees on Foreign Relations, the Budget, and Commerce, Science and Transportation. In the second half of the show, Charlie will be joined by Atlantic staff writer Conor Friedersdorf to discuss why conservatives are so often misunderstood, and why they may have the power to bring America back together. Mr. Friedersdorf is the author of the article, “How Conservatives Can Save America.” Here are some tweets from this episode: Indivisible Week 8: Why Is Health Care Such a Partisan Issue?
