The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 10th study session on Isabel Wilkerson's 2020 offering, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. Wilkerson can stuff a storage area and a luggage set with the numerous (and well-earned) prizes she's garnered - often for writing about the mistreatment of black people. The Warmth of Other Suns is beloved by President Barack Obama and Gus T. Renegade alike. However, Caste is a shameful, pathetic offering and is cemented as the 2nd worst book Gus has read. The word "caste" is in the text more than 1,000 times according to word count - this does not include the title of the text. It frequently seems like one of the primary objectives of this text is to get black people to use the word "caste" as oppose to Racism/White Supremacy. During last week's section of the text, Wilkerson continued her pattern of not naming black male victims of Racism. Earlier in the text, she references Thabo Sefolosha's police beating without naming the NBA star. More recently, she described the 2018 police killing of Botham Jean in Texas. He too went unnamed. This is in contrast to the earlier name dropping of Heather Hayer - a White Woman killed in Charlottesville. Additionally, Wilkerson posits that White Women are also victims of "discrimination," but she offers no data to explain who is abusing White Women or how their situation compares to the caste oppression inflicted on black people. Wilkerson adds more personal anecdotes on ways she has been a victim of caste. She details how a dominant caste male molested her while on board a flight. She makes precise mention of how the lead black male flight attendant was worthless in helping her. This is chapters after she explained that black males are not allowed to protect their wives or offspring in the caste system. #2ndWorstBookEver INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE: 564943#

Gente come Thabo Sefolosha.

Our friend Brit Robotista joined the WHAT Podcast to answer some CBA questions and give us a preview of the Houston Rockets. First we walk through the intrigue behind the Nene contract and find out why it is making Houston fans mad. Then we dive into what it will be like when Russell Westbrook reunites with his old friend James Harden (and Thabo Sefolosha too!) What does the basketball look like? Who is the leader? Do the Rockets have any fun? We have questions and she has answers. 1:00 Damian Lillard recently asked for Netflix suggestions which got us thinking, if you could recommend a show to a specific player what show would you choose and who is watching? 5:45 What was the deal with Nene’s contract? Rockets attempted to use the likely/unlikely bonus provision in the NBA CBA to attempt to create a $10M trade exception13:30 But NBA used an existing part of the CBA (Article 6) as well as additional powers temporarily granted to them by the NBPA to change the structure of the contract to have the majority of the contract not count towards the salary cap, except for ~$2.7M (and therefore prevent the contract from being used as a trade exception). Great resource to learn more: Mike Meltser Podcast from last Saturday17:30 About Houston, what are people saying right now about the big trade of Paul for Westbrook? 20:10 How are people going to remember the Chris Paul years?23:45 How is the basketball going to work? Harden or Westbrook will have to relent (aka stagger minutes), they will likely add some midrange game, and the addition of Thabo Sefolsha gets a bunch of the band back together. 28:15 Why don’t the Rockets seem like they are having any fun and what is it like to be a fan of a team centered around James Harden? We circle back to Antonio Brown, who was more of a Forrest Gump than a Keyser Soze We talk a little WNBA, how Derek Fisher is a bad coach, and how the playoffs should be in bigger venues. We talk how Reggie Miller could be great in the modern NBA. We note Hakeem Olajuwon is finally an "old-timer" that understands how bunk the "death of the big man" narrative is. FOR FULL VIDEO VERSIONS OF THESE AUDIO PLAYER/COACH INTERVIEWS, CLICK HERE Isaiah Thomas and Kelly Olynyk come alive as Boston Celtics beat Atlanta Hawks 106-93 Written by  Jared Weiss   Kelly Olynyk came alive as an aggressive offensive threat as the Boston Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-93 Friday. Isaiah Thomas dominated with a 23 point, 10 assist and 5 rebound tour de force. BOSTON – Pace and space was on display at its finest in the second half, as the Celtics went on a series of blistering runs in the second half to beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-93. Isaiah Thomas' 23 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds were crucial for a team whose shooting continued to cripple the pace-and-space system. The Celtics were neck and neck with the Hawks until an Isaiah Thomas three-pointer in the middle of the third quarter sparked a 12-2 run. Kelly Olynyk came alive with 8 points in the quarter with two threes. He took over when he rattled home a sudden catch-and-shoot three and attacking the rim. Isaiah Thomas kicked off the second half with a flurry of acreobatic drives and deep shots, finishing with 11 points on 4-for-8 shooting in the third. Amir Johnson capped off the quarter with a put back at the buzzer and when the dust settled, the Celtics held their first double-digit lead of the game and led 80-69. But then Kyle Korver returned. The sharp shooter opened back up the attacking lanes for Atlanta and they chipped away at the Celtics' lead. After a timeout with three minutes to go, the Hawks found Kent Bazemore in the corner with Kyle Korver up on the strong-side elbow. With Korver's radiating presence keeping his man out on the perimeter, Bazemore exploded past two Boston defenders for a high-flying layup. Stevens responded with a timeout and a tricky ATO play of his own. Jae Crowder got the ball on the top of the key and faked a pick-and-roll left with Amir Johnson. As Crowder drove like a charging Buffalo into a triple team, he quickly turned and found a trailing Amir Johnson. With all three post defenders in the air, Johnson slipped by for the layup. The Celtics got the stop on the other end and came charging down on the break, where Evan Turner drew a three-point play. After a Jae Crowder three restored the 11-point lead from the beginning of the quarter, they never looked back. Crowder hit a step-in 18-footer to ice the game on the very next play. The 10-0 run saw the Celtics executing their pace-and-space system to perfection, as they eclipsed 100 field goal attempts for the evening. The Hawks were without coach Mike Budenholzer due to a family matter and played like a team missing their coach. Their usually slick and efficient offense looked lost in the third quarter, saved by a few great shots from Dennis Schroder and some savvy off-ball moves by Thabo Sefolosha. With the Celtics' starters getting into transition off of every defensive rebound, their higher pace eventually prevailed. The Celtics took a season-high 102 field goal attempts to the Hawks' 75.
