Noemi had a breakout season in 2024, turning heads at the Olympic Games Road Race and netting herself a National Championship. Those who didn't know her already certainly do now, after winning the Tour Down Under in dominant fashion with a memorable win up Willunga Hill. We sat down a few days after the victory to discuss her preperation for this event and how she managed to perform better than ever in 36 degree heat after training in a cold Swiss Winter.

(28.1.2020) Preteky Tour Down Under mierne naznačili, v akom duchu sa bude niesť tohtoročná sezóna. We're at the Tour Down Under and we've seen one of the most dramatic stages in the race's history, with a relegated winner and a crash and major scare for the overall leader on stage 5. Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal) crossed the line first, but was relegated by the race jury for a headbutt on Jasper Philipsen (UAE Team Emirates), who was promoted to victory. In the GC, Patrick Bevin (CCC Team) crashed inside the final 10km but was paced back to the bunch to retain his lead. He's back in the team hotel after a trip to hospital and, subject to a concussion test tomorrow morning, will start the final stage to Willunga Hill on Sunday. He currently leads Daryl Impey (Mitchelton-Scott) by seven seconds. It's still all to play for. In the podcast we hear from Ewan's DS Mario Aerts and eventual stage winner Philipsen, along with Robbie McEwen and Richie Porte. (14.1.2019) Kengury, koaly a oddýchnutý pelotón. To je obraz Tour Down Under. Úvodné World Tour preteky sezóny sa nesú v o niečo uvoľnenejšej atmosfére.
In this episode of The Cycling Podcast, Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe recap the week in professional cycling and cast their eyes over the forthcoming season at what they are looking forward to from the 2018 season. We discuss the Giro d’Italia wild cards, Richie Porte’s fifth successive victory on Willunga Hill, asking whether that’s proof that the Tasmanian is over the terrible crash that ended his Tour de France last season. We weigh up the importance of UCI president David Lappartient’s outspoken comments about Chris Froome and Lance Armstrong. And Daniel ‘steals’ Richard’s thunder when it comes to what he’s looking forward to this season like a co-leader attacking his team-mate on the first mountain stage of the Tour de France. Since Mike is on assignment, the Colombians have absolute freedom to do as they please, once again. Natalia gets all types of ruffled over the mention of a certain Spanish cyclist, we discuss our overall ambivalence toward the Tour Down Under, but barely mention Willunga Hill, which is unbelievable. Klaus brings out the big guns with the best joke ever told. At least 'Krusher believes so. He laughed for like 3 minutes straight. Something tells us this is not the last time we'll hear the punch line. "Punch" as in you guys will be "punching" yourselves in the face every time it comes up again, because of its sheer vacuousness. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
We're baaaaacck! Well, okay, we came back a week ago, but now, we’re officially back. Back in the Cycling Central studio at SBS HQ, that is. The mic’s have been cleaned out, the mic socks replaced (Tomo’s spitting, inevitably, got the better of them), the chairs reupholstered, the table re-lacquered, our Gustavo Fring lookalike, a.k.a. studio producer Dennis, has returned – unlike Fring, who died at the meth-laden hands of Walter White – but the regulars remain! Hosted by our in-house hipster Alex Hinds and accompanied by Cycling Central managing editor Phil Gomes and King (or should that be queen?) of Willunga Hill, Anthony Tan, the trio first get stuck into the Santos Tour Down Under, and reminisce and ruminate on a cracking start to the 2014 WorldTour calendar. Running concurrently with the TDU was the Tour de San Luis. Shambolic and uncivilized at times, superlative at others; should we have expected anything less? Adelaide may resemble a ghost town after the TDU peloton departed – but did you know the Australian track nationals are on this week at the Adelaide Super-Drome, and Wednesday night, golden girl Anna Meares clocked up her thirtieth national title?! And, further afield – okay, okay, *miles* away – in Hoogerheide, the Netherlands, the world’s best cyclo-crossers get down and dirty this weekend to fight for a bunch of rainbow jerseys. First person to stay upright and not break bike or bone wins… Or something like that. Hear us out now, yo!
