You've seen the meet-cute in movies and tv shows a thousand times – two people lock eyes from across a crowded room, or on a busy sidewalk. Suddenly, and inexplicably, they're in love. Maybe these aren't stories of fantasy and fiction – maybe it's actually happened to you, or someone you know. We've learned from scientific studies that certain stages of romantic love are driven by dopamine, which is the chemical in our brain also responsible for motivating our ancestors to find food and water. Love, in a sense, is part of our survival system. But is it really possible to fall in love at first sight? Have it happened to you or someone close to you? We want to know! Call us atl 866-893-5722 or email atcomments@laist.com. Joining us today on AirTalk to talk about the phenomenon of love at first sight is clinical professor in neurology at Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx and co-creator of the website “The Anatomy of Love,” Lucy Brown.
This week's pod is Scottish focused (did Jacob mention he was playing Banquo in Macbeth?), as we discuss the positives from a frustratingly close home defeat to county rivals Loughborough from the double header at the weekend. This week's player profile focuses on Scotland's Eva Donaldson, before Jess catches up with Lucy Brown who used to be a part of Scotland's development programme. We then finish off our Scottish theme with a brilliant interview with Tigers' hooker and Scottish international Elis Martin. If that isn't enough, we preview an exciting first-ever fixture away to fellow league newbies Ealing Trailfinders as we both collectively fangirl over Abbey Dow.
Learn more about your ad choices. The strong backwardation in diesel and gasoline forward pricing is reflective of a tight fundamental picture for road fuels in Europe as demand steadily rises and refineries grapple with high crude feedstock and running costs as natural gas prices soar, curtailing supply. Amid this market tightness, inventories continue to draw as the opportunity cost of storage rises, reducing supply buffers. At the same time, refiner hedging is exacerbating the strength in calendar time spreads. In this episode of the Oil Markets Podcast, S&P Global Platts Global editors Rowan Staden-Coats and Lucy Brown discuss with Joel Hanley backwardation and what it means for road fuel markets in Europe.
With Agnes Brody's help Regina Miranda finds a "Lucy Brown". Milton Roupp has an unpleasant meeting with his ex-wife Lorna Rios. All interested parties are at the Adoption Board meeting.

Public Trans is a new podcast for trans people by trans people. An informal conversation between your hosts, Mac and Ave, Public Trans talks about what it means to be trans in the public eye, taking the structure of your morning commute. Through the Morning Cup of Gender, the Commute, and the Platform, we talk about the questions we often ask each other, such as: how do you pass if you don't identify as a binary gender? How do we raise children with or without gender? What challenges does the modern dating landscape confront trans people with? What are the failings of mainstream androgeny? These questions raise different issues for trans people with varying gender identities, and though we attempt to explore the intersection of identity with these issues as much as possible, we acknowledge our viewpoints can be limited. That is why The Platform ends every episode. The Platform is a section of our show dedicated to contributions from our community and serves as a space for trans people to contribute their voices and thoughts about our episode's topic. Our wonderful Platform contributors for episode one include: Cass Adair (he/him), a radio producer, former academic, and Animorphsexpert (find Cass and his work here!); Lucy Brown (they/them), a rising third year at Oberlin College who is passionate about working with the Jewish community at Oberlin and making Reform Jewish youth spaces more accessible for trans youth, as well as playing ultimate and working to make that community a better place for trans players; Gregory Rosenthal (they/them), an Assistant Professor of Public History at Roanoke College who works with LGBTQ+ history, including trans history; and the Transmasculinidad project, which explores gender and masculinity throughout Latin America where gender roles are strict and machismo is unforgiving, headed by Sarah Barrett and Carmen Graterol, who travelled from Chile to Mexico documenting trans masculinity as they went (check them out here!). The excerpt from Transmaculinidad you will hear on episode one features Matias and Joaquin, from Peru. Check us out on Instagram as public.trans.podcast, on Twitter as @trans_podcast, on Facebook as Public Trans, and on Patreon! Public Trans is made possible by our audio editor and producer, Savannah Tracy (she/her), and our music producer Alexander Fiorentini (he/him). Alexander is a sweet tune mastermind located in Providence, RI and making hip-hop, pop, and everything in between - find him here or here. Your hosts are Mac Maclean (they/them), a writer and artist based out of Boston, and Ave Bisesi (they/them), a scientist and educator working in the Cleveland area.
Lucy Brown, the former camera woman for Tommy Robinson joins us to explain what has happened since her last interview. In short, she's been attacked in the street multiple times, organised a huge protest in favour of free speech and left the employment of the EDL founder. Her website is here: www.lucybrown.info and she tweets here: www.twitter.com/lucyfrown "The right to openly discuss ideas must be defended" footage is here. The Rotherham report is here: DOWNLOAD IT AND READ IT Lucy's piece on the subject of Tommy Robinson and the subsequent mass protests which have been seen in major cities up and down the UK is here. The end bit where I bang on about free speech and boats is taken from the impenetrable earlier podcast, The Cult of Nick, which preceeds this one. It's one of the most difficult episodes to listen to but weirdly it's had 1,000's of downloads - MAGNUM OPUS II
Recent Indiana University graduates Lucy Brown and Madeline Danforth visited the studio to discuss their passion for public health and the importance of doing what you love.
This week we return to a major theme; free speech. Joining us we have Lucy Brown, who tweets as @LucyFrown on twitter. She gives us her point of view on the so-called "new right". A movement which involves younger people taking on perspectives which are traditionally seen as the preserve of dusty old folk. We also have John O'Connell, representing the twitter account and website @Far_Right_Watch he puts forward his view on "hate speech" and explains a position which we've discussed critically in the past on the podcast. Finally we have an old interview with Peter Hitchens, who tweets as @ClarkeMicah and is probably one of the most amusing accounts on that social media site, largely because he spends all his time arguing with randoms. Thanks for all the nice words about last fortnight's effort. We've got quite an audience cooking here, I didn't expect it to take off quite so quickly. Do keep spreading the word. We'll have another one in a couple of weeks, assuming the Goddess is kind in her chaos.

Lucy Brown, a neuroscientist at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, has studied romantic love using functional magnetic resonance imaging. Dr. Brown will talk about her studies on what happens in our brains at different stages of love: falling in love, being rejected by a lover, and longterm love. Obstructive sleep apnea is the most commonly diagnosed condition among sleep-related breathing disorders and can lead to debilitating and sometimes fatal consequences for the 18 million Americans who have been diagnosed with the disorder.
