We stand at the end of Season 3 (for an ovation, right?!) This week's episode is all about being your best self and whatever that means to you - one gal's seaswim is another gal's sticky toffee pudding and a good book. Esther & Susie discuss themselves (for a change...) and Susie reveals some worrying gaps in her knowledge of how bodies actually work. To help them in their quest for best self-dom, S & E enlist the advice of their special guest  - the iridescent Rosie Green. Rosie is a journalist, beauty editor, author, broadcaster and she has spent the last 20 years writing about beauty, fashion, spas and health and interviewing and styling major Hollywood celebrities from Sarah Jessica Parker to Cameron Diaz.  She regularly writes for Red Magazine, The Telegraph, The Times, Vogue and Elle, and up until recently, had her own column in the Daily Mail's You Magazine. She's basically Carrie Bradshaw. She is also a regular guest presenter on This Morning.   After her 26 year relationship with her husband ended, without warning, Rosie took her pain and turned it into a best selling book How To Heal A Broken Heart.  A book that has helped many people going through separations feel less alone and more positive about their future. We talk to Rosie about how she landed her first break at Vogue, working for Trinny and Susannah, the skincare she would recommend and her passion for authentic communication. Rosie glows inside and out and it was a delight to chat to here and learn some fabulous beauty tips. In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to one of the world's most bankable models, David Gandy. David is instantly recognisable for his smouldering gaze and a pair of skimpy white briefs and has appeared on billboards and in magazines all over the world. The British model, entrepreneur and charity ambassador has blazed a trail within the modelling industry since his career began aged 21. His breakout moment came in 2007 with the now iconic Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue fragrance commercial shot by photographer Mario Testino. Gandy was awoken to the world of modelling after winning a competition on ITV's This Morning after his housemates suggested that he enter. Gandy thought they were joking, but after being entered behind his back he landed a contract with Select Model Management. In this conversation, we talked about how he started his stellar career, learning his craft, fatherhood and what it's also like to be behind the camera now as he builds his business, David Gandy Wellwear. Season 3 launches with none other than the supermodel that is David Gandy as my guest… I know, it was a tough job interviewing the most famous male supermodel in the world but someone's got to do it and fortunately for me, and hopefully you, he chose to chat all things Style with me. David shot to global recognition wearing a pair of tiny white swimming trunks for the iconic Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue fragrance campaign. The image saw him on a 50 ft billboard in Times Square NY over 20 years ago…we laugh about the value of those tiny white trunks now. I loved hearing about the inspiration behind his brand David Gandy Wellwear which he created during lockdown, which combines his passion for style and well-being with responsibly sourced garments … did you know that fabrics can now be infused with anti-bacterial, anti-odour or moisturising qualities? He openly discusses the challenges of the fashion industry in this post-pandemic, post-Brexit, cost-of-living-crisis-world that we are inhabiting. We talk about male body image, grooming, style icons and so much more … I sincerely hope you enjoy this next season as much as I have creating it.

My guest today is David Gandy. After winning a televised modelling competition at the age of 21 he went on to become the world's first and most successful male supermodel. David's big break came in 2007 in the form of his first Dolce & Gabbana campaigns, which saw him become a global sensation overnight when the iconic image of him wearing tiny white trunks in a boat in Capri shot by Mario Testino appeared on a 50ft billboard in Times Square. He still fronts this Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue campaign today, as well as working with the biggest brands and names in the industry, from high fashion to high street. A style icon, family man, vintage car aficionado and now founder of his eponymous brand, David Gandy Wellwear. His university housemate secretly entered a photo of him into a competition on This Morning to win a modelling contract and all these years later, things don't seem to be slowing down for him either. Between modelling being a father of 2 and his own line, he says that he has always treated his career as a business and has learned his biggest lessons from supermodels such as Christy Turlington and Kate Moss.Despite the pressures to be in incredible shape, David has always said he eats a mix of foods and in moderation, staying away from ultra processed foods and he spent lockdown whipping up delicious meals in his mother-in-law's big Le Creuset pot. In this episode of Out of the Clouds, Anne Muhlethaler interviews Scott Wimsett @ScottWimsett, a presenter, a fashion director and sustainability expert based in the UK. Scott started his agency, Bespoke Banter, in 2006 with a vision of supporting global talent and brands to create social assets in film to support their storytelling. Scott built a reputation for being a supportive and trusted partner for many world-renowned talents who work with his company closely to craft the broadcasted film and images they distribute globally. More recently, Scott launched The Feel Good Fellowship with friend, model, and climate activist Arizona Muse. Among all his endeavours, Scott is committed to encouraging brands to prioritise transparency, accuracy, and research in all their digital content to empower audiences to make more sustainable, environmentally positive choices in the brands they support.Much like Anne, Scott loves to entertain good conversations in addition to his content creation work. Scott has hosted a podcast with Royal Ascot on sustainability, and returned with a new show called ‘Personal Threads', with diverse guests from David Gandy to Paul O'Grady and June Sarpong. In this interview, Scott shares with Anne his story, from how he started on stage acting and dancing before going into modelling and PR — but always with a desire pulling him to TV and presenting. An astute expert in his field, Scott talks about his early wins and what helped establish his reputation, and later about the importance of listening carefully to what is coming next, including how that's guided his moves from his start with Bespoke Banter to the projects he is doing now.Scott shares the thought process that drove him to build his own company and why he felt, and still feels, that film (or video) is essential for brands and talent to tell a detailed story. Scott believes that brands can turn to film to create a documentary of sorts — one that transmits their values and history, and that will communicate their DNA to their audience — but that transparency and vulnerability are key.Scott then tells Anne about his experience with Vipassana, which he discovered when a friend signed him up to attend a silent meditation retreat that transformed his life. He goes on to talk about how the combination of being active in addition to meditation and journaling continues to support him daily and explains that his meditation and other personal health rituals are not a hack or a quick add on, but, as he says, a necessity: ‘It's not like it's painted on. It's not like you are making yourself do it. It becomes just part of who we are. It's just how you live your life.'    Happy listening!     ***You can find Scott on Instagram @https://www.instagram.com/scottwimsett/Discover his company Bespoke Banter -  https://www.bespokebanter.com/And the Feel Good Fellowship - https://www.feelgoodfellowship.com/Scott is also an advisor with the Sustainable Beauty Coalition - https://www.instagram.com/sustainablebeautycoalition/The British Beauty Council - https://britishbeautycouncil.com/The first Royal Ascot podcast hosted by Scott called 'A New Era in Style' -https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/royal-ascot-a-new-era-in-style/id1569576018Bay Garnett, stylist and senior fashion ambassador for Oxfam - https://www.baygarnett.com/pressThe Royal Ascot - https://www.ascot.com/royal-ascot-2023The Royal Ascot 'Personal Threads' podcast hosted by Scott Wimsett & Susan Bender - https://shows.acast.com/personal-threadsThe song Faith by George Michael - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cs3Pvmmv0EAnne Glenconner's book 'Lady in Waiting' - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/49945845-lady-in-waiting*** f you enjoyed this episode, click subscribe for more, and consider writing a review of the show on Apple Podcasts, we really appreciate your support and feedback. Spanning the decades from the rise of photography to the age of the selfie, The Culture of Male Beauty in Britain: From the First Photographs to David Beckham (University of Chicago Press, 2021) traces the complex visual and consumer cultures that shaped masculine beauty in Britain, examining the realms of advertising, health, pornography, psychology, sport, and celebrity culture. Paul R. Deslandes chronicles the shifting standards of male beauty in British culture—from the rising cult of the athlete to changing views on hairlessness—while connecting discussions of youth, fitness, and beauty to growing concerns about race, empire, and degeneracy. From earlier beauty show contestants and youth-obsessed artists, the book moves through the decades into considerations of disfigured soldiers, physique models, body-conscious gay men, and celebrities such as David Beckham and David Gandy who populate the worlds of television and social media. Deslandes calls on historians to take beauty and gendered aesthetics seriously while recasting how we think about the place of physical appearance in historical study, the intersection of different forms of high and popular culture, and what has been at stake for men in “looking good.” Learn more about your ad choices. Confessions of a Closet Romantic

I've made some surprising discoveries about myself while reading romances this year. The wave of positivity, love, respect and acceptance for all sorts of fictional characters in these stories has encouraged me to love and accept myself, and even discover new aspects of my sexuality.https://www.confessionsofaclosetromantic.comGLAAD has really useful definitions for the entire asexual spectrum, including demisexuality. Come to think of it, I just might be aceflux, too.So what does it mean to be sapiosexual? Oh, this is me as well — if your brain is sexy to me, then you're super hot. "Sex can be anything: Just kissing; having a long, erotically charged conversation...as long as you've got consent, and no unwanted pain, you can roll around like puppies.” The secret to great sex.I mean, I have eyeballs and can see that David Gandy is hotter than the surface of the sun. But what is his mind like? And is he kind? Does he love on puppies? Help older ladies carry their groceries? These are the questions that a demisexual might explore before jumping in the sack.Featured in this episode:Connect with writer, listener and general badass Kristina on Twitter.Writer VB Beringer specializes in monster/fantasy erotica, and he's a doll. The fascinating article by writer Lacey Cross about the intersection between her demisexuality and her erotica can be found here.Erotica editor Tasha Taylor is a delight.MoviesHer is one of my favorite movies ever and represents romance heaven for demisexuals like me.Clueless (1995), loosely based on Jane Austen's Emma, is the most adorable movie. Alicia Silverstone's performance is full of humor and heart--she makes the whole thing tick, and even the 90s slang stands up.BooksGrace and Seb, the demisexual nerds-turned-lovers of My Fake Rake, are a delightful pair. The audiobook is fantastic. The mental health, social anxiety and demisexual/asexual rep in The Charm Offensive is absolutely heartwarming. Sweet Charlie and Dev win you over immediately.I fell in love with Gray and Kai in The Happy List. The way these men love, cherish and respect each other first as friends, then lovers, is sexy and inspiring.Jake, the hero in Tempting Talk, is a hot cinnamon roll demisexual (what a combo!), and this story about small town rock DJ Mabel falling in love with the station's accountant is a total delight.

David Gandy Wellwear is a world first concept bringing apparel and wellbeing together in a lifestyle brand that fuses fashion, function and feeling. Inspired by the supermodel's 20 years of industry experience and based on the scientific benefits of wearing soft, comfortable clothing, the 20-piece debut collection offers a definitive range of essentials that puts the emotional wellbeing of its customer at its very heart. To achieve this the brand takes a multi-sensory approach to design, evoking a sense of wellbeing through exceptional comfort, style, fit and quality. With studies showing that simply touching smooth fabrics can create a sense of psychological wellbeing and reduce negative emotions, Wellwear's use of tactile fabrics is key. The best natural fibres, including Pima cotton, lyocell and modal, have been chosen to guarantee ultimate softness . Fabric constructions have been selected for their natural functionality, such as body temperature regulation and moisture wicking, to create an additional layer of comfort. The brand also pushes the boundaries on affordable fabric innovation by applying technical treatments to garments to physically enhance the wearer's wellbeing. These include anti-odour and anti-bacterial properties which reduce the need to wash clothes after every wear, increasing longevity of the garment and in turn having a positive wider environmental impact, and the use of Aloe Vera plant extract which has wound healing, anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties. In this episode of the MenswearStyle Podcast we interview David Gandy, Founder of David Gandy Wellwear about the founding story of his new clothing brand concept which was put together during the Covid-19 global pandemic. Our host Peter Brooker and David talk about the obstacles and limitations of building a brand without meeting suppliers and team members in person, what Wellwear stands for, the science of comfort, why anti-bacterial fabric is sustainable, fast fashion, funding, and charity sponsors.  Whilst we have your attention, be sure to sign up to our daily MenswearStyle newsletter here. Since its establishment, it has built an exclusive client list of the world’s leading lifestyle brands and has managed the careers of the biggest, brightest and most successful male and female models and artists. It represents the likes of David Gandy, Irina Shayk, Jon Kortajarena, Oliver Cheshire, Michael Ward, Lucan Gillespie, Primrose Archer, Will Chalker, Marjan Jonkman, Shanelle Nyasiase, Aliet, and Amanda Murphy. Subjects covered; How will agencies survive after being forced to shut down for months? What will the fashion shows look like this coming in September? Will modeling rates go up or down due to COVID 19? Select, now one of the largest modeling networks in the world with offices in eight cities, how does the agency give personal attention to the models when representing so many incredible models? Tik Tok? Instagram? is there a shift taking place? Models can earn $10,000 a day, a health care worker earns $40,000 a year? do you see a problem with this? Influencers earn hundreds of thousands of dollars a year taking selfies while a teacher earns $44,000 per year what is wrong with this? What kind of effect does it have on a young person who all of sudden starts earning thousands of dollars a day standing in front of a camera? or taking a selfie? Do models truly "earn" the great amount of money they make, like other careers? Do they actually appreciate the amount of money they make? Do people truly appreciate things they don't really "earn"? What effect does it have on a young person being rejected thousands of times about their physical appearance? Paul Fisher The Board LA @Paulfishermgmt

Not going to lie, this week's Wolfmania is a pretty difficult listen. It's probably not for the faint hearted. Speaking of which, Andrew gets some bad news, and struggles to talk about it. Don't worry though, he has no such trouble chatting about the movie S.M.A.R.T. starring Tim, or giving top model David Gandy the business. Oh, and he's written a song. Instead of a will. This is uneasy listening. To make matters weirder, in an out-of-character burst of diversity, the boys are joined in studio by an actual woman, their great mate Kitty Somerset. Unfortunately, she has taken a vow of silence - which bodes well for the hot new podcast Kitty, Timpsy and the Dressing Gown Guy. Let the process of weeding out commence. Love you x

I'm not the only Palmer to have turned their back on coroprate life to run a business of their own. Ryan Palmer and his friend Dave Pickard are the co-founders of The London Sock Company, an online store started in 2013 based on the observation that although more and more men don't wear ties these days, people do notice your socks. Since them the company has gone from strength to strength with celebrities like Daniel Craig and David Gandy wearing the products. But we're not really talking socks in this interview. In my conversation with Ryan we talk about leaving coroprate life, the secrets to running an online business in the 21st century, loyalty and brand and much more more. Whether you plan to set up on your own or are just wondering why it's hard to keep lively young people like Ryan and Dave in your big business, there's a lot for you in this show. AND there's an offer for all Punks in Suits listeners.
