Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future. Returning guest Cassie Lilly comes home to X-Men Horoscopes for an episode where we map X-Men 57 onto its historical counterpart in 1969...we're covering the Stonewall Riots! Yes - this is another "What does X-Men say about US?" episode, or at least the queer and queer-adjacent us. With that in mind, we also cover: why Iceman is Cleopatra the Sentinels...LIVE (for Polaris' outfit) Havok is a walking talking disaster and Lorna Dane, half a world away, falls in love Havok has to come out as a mutant and wonders if anyone has ever felt so alone Lodro manages the X-Men's finances "Men believe what they want to believe Bobby" Tune in because this episode...is going to be a riot! Jokes aside, this is when mutants in the Marvel Universe are starting to be persecuted and hunted simply for being mutants. We're witnessing the birth of mutant as metaphor in today's issue and it's message is a powerful one about how, when we stand together, we prevail. When we isolate, well, that's when the Sentinels will get ya. Bonus: we have a back up story called "The Female of the Species" which...is not great for feminism. "Cleaning the house is a breeze when you have telekinesis!" - Jean Grey ten years before becoming a cosmic entity Cassie Lilly is a truly creative person, having trained as an actress, most notably at the celebrated National Youth Theatre of London, who has also successfully dabbled in modeling and voiceover work before settling into her skills as a writer, with her first article published in 2021 detailing her perspective as a transgender girl in the modern world. She is an activist at heart, a champion for LGBTQ rights and the fight against racism, lending her voice as an educational public speaker, shedding light on the history and facts surrounding the culture war on trans people. As an avid comic book reader from an early age, Cassie is considered a “go-to” girl when it comes to comics. This lends perfectly to her super fun content coverage as a bubbly Tiktoker and across social media, diving into nerd culture, comic book characters, history and lore! You can join the discussion with @who.cassie across all social media! Mark Wingett After my recent interview with Maria Austin, where we discussed Mercy, a film about life as a pig in a slaughterhouse. I decided to reach out to her co-star, Mark Wingett, who portrayed the slaughterman. Mark, a familiar face on our screens for over 20 years as The Bill's Jim Carver, got his first break as Dave in the British cult classic movie, Quadrophenia. Dave was Jimmy's best friend, the one with the cool hat who ultimately betrays Jimmy at his lowest point by stealing his girl. As a first job, this is quite an achievement. Mark was one of the youngest in the cast, he was just 17 and fresh out of the National Youth Theatre when he was cast. Now with a career spanning over 40 years, it was an honour to talk to this much accomplished actor about his career and dip into his personal life which involves scuba diving and biking with the Tokyo mods! Mark reminisces about his first day on set and how many egg sandwiches he had to eat! We talk about the success behind the movie, Pete Townshend's genius musical score and the admirable vision of the director, Franc Roddam. A director who took chances when selecting the actors and stuck to his interpretation of the story. The bond between cast members is still as strong as ever, with Mark describing them as family. The cast have all had such illustrious careers including Phil Davis, one of my favourite actors. At the time of filming, Sting was launching his music career and Ray Winstone had made his third film in that year. Mark mentions that Ray Winstone was always destined for greatness, I can't help think that happened to Mark too.

Despite earning her degree, Charithra felt a strong passion for performing, prompting her to take a gap year to explore her dream before committing to a conventional full-time job. While working part-time for the New Policy Institute after her gap year, she realised her true calling was acting. She turned down a job offer from Boston Consulting Group, choosing to pursue a career in acting. In 2021, Charithra joined the main cast of the spy thriller series "Alex Rider" for its second season, playing the role of Sabina Pleasance, along with the role of Edwina in the second series of the Shondaland-produced Netflix period drama "Bridgerton," based on the novel "The Viscount Who Loved Me," in 2022. Season 4 of the series begins by exploring Charithra's journey, touching on topics such as making a drastic career change, navigating discrimination, and emphasising the importance of authenticity. We discuss: - Nurtured in Tamil culture during childhood - Navigating the challenges of divorced parents - Early exposure to boarding school life - Cultivating a passion for performing arts - Confronting experiences of discrimination - Embarking on a transformative gap year to pursue your passion - Epiphanies amid the challenges of the Covid era - Strategic pursuit of personal dreams - A pivotal role in Netflix's acclaimed series, Bridgerton - Wrestling with feelings of inadequacy and failure INSTRUCTIONS FOR A TEENAGE ARMAGEDDON Tickets: https://thegarricktheatre.co.uk/tickets/instructions-for-a-teenage-armageddon/ Watch on YouTube Follow us @HOWIBECAME__ We're on Instagram, TikTok, X and Facebook Unity & Motion - A London based production company specialising in commercials and branded content Email: info@weunify.co.uk This is a UNIFY Podcast. Today Alexa is joined by a singer and voice coach who was the first artist to perform at London's O2 Arena. She has taught music to more than 4,000 children and has worked on ITV's The Voice Kids. In 2019 she was awarded an MA from the Voice Study Centre where her work focused on the benefits of singing and songwriting on mental health. Author of The Creative Songwriting Journal and If You Can't Say It Sing It! Sophie Garner is on Singing Teachers Talk.  KEY TAKEAWAYS In two weeks we're going to be celebrating our 100th episode of the podcast! To thank you for listening and helping you on your singing teacher journey, we're going to be running a giveaway worth more than £1,000! On the 1st of March one lucky winner will get a 12-month subscription to the BAST membership and the replays from every single one of our Focus On events. To win, you'll need to tune in on the 1st of March, so make sure you're subscribed! The left side of the brain focuses on speech, but the right side handles singing and music. This means that if someone has suffered an injury to the left side of their brain, you can use lyrics and melody to get them to speak more confidently.  Sophie works in a group setting to encourage the camaraderie and “we're all in this together” spirit of the people she works with.  During the lockdown, upon all her work stopping, Sophie became the published Author of The Creative Songwriting Journal and If You Can't Say It Sing It!. Both books teach children and young adults how to write songs for self-expression, building confidence and encouraging individual creativity. When working with children, Sophie's approach is about creating a comfortable atmosphere where singers can feel free to tell their stories through their voices. She hates it when people are told that they can't sing; it can be a very traumatic thing to be told that destroys confidence.  One thing any teacher can do to settle energy is to make a playlist of a song from every child in the group. Then every day after the break, you get them to sit in silence and listen to one of the songs. Everyone's song gets heard, and they feel validated.  BEST MOMENTS ‘It enables people to literally have a voice'  ‘I love the work. The series is an epic romantic adventure series based on the life of famous American outlaw, also known as William H. Bonney — from his humble Irish roots, to his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier, to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond. Webber will play Jesse Evans, another famous outlaw and leader of the Seven Rivers Gang. When they meet, Jesse has already embraced a life of crime: robbing stores and cattle rustling. Billy is attracted to his wild and reckless character and becomes Billy's doppelganger of sorts — his shadow self, forever inviting him over to the dark side of life. Series star, Tom Blyth hails from Nottingham, England where he lived prior to being accepted to study at Juilliard in New York City. Assorted local theatre, film and television work in England was followed by training and productions with the prestigious National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, one of which took him to perform in Saudi Arabia. Blyth played the historical figure, Glen Byam Shaw, in this portrait of 1920s British art scene. He just completed filming a guest role in HBO's “The Gilded Age”. He resides in New York City.

The most literate, incredible, wise people I know regularly voice worries about having said something silly after a couple of drinks, about having not replied entirely politely to a rude comment, about things that are beyond their control, about all sorts that they are far too fantastic to spend their moments worrying about. This album is about those little niggling worries, and is for these brilliant people. Written after a house flood and on the brink of the pandemic, the album (and the year awaiting it's creation) encapsulate a process of having worries, acknowledging and dealing with them, and allowing them to wash away. Matt Smith is best known as the eleventh Timelord in the BBC One series, Doctor Who. At 26, he became the youngest actor to take the part. His future looked set to be in football: he played at youth level for Northampton Town, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City until a serious back condition ended his highly promising career prematurely. His drama teacher encouraged him to take up acting and he joined the National Youth Theatre and studied drama at the University of East Anglia. He played Lockwood in the National Theatre's touring production of The History Boys and was nominated for an Evening Standard Best Newcomer Award for his performance in Polly Stenham's That Face. He also appeared as a political researcher in the BBC Two parliamentary drama, Party Animals. Despite being a surprise choice to play The Doctor in 2009, he became the first actor to be nominated for a BAFTA television award for his performance in this role, and has won two National Television Awards. When he left Doctor Who at the end of 2013, he appeared on stage as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho: The Musical. In 2016 he took the part of HRH Prince Philip Mountbatten, The Duke of Edinburgh, in the Netflix series The Crown, and received great acclaim, leaving the role at the end of the second series in late 2017.
