(a song featured in the greatest film of all time according to Susie) and this week, the gals are encouraging you to do the same. Their special guest is the fabulous LINDSAY MACK. Hailed as “one of the most important new voices in the world of modern spirituality and wellness,” Lindsay Mack is a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent intuitive artist, Tarot teacher, writer, mother, and the founder of Tarot for the Wild Soul®. Tarot for the Wild Soul is an online Tarot school that has helped tens of thousands of students learn how to read Tarot for anything that arises — to show up to their decks in the present moment, and engage with them as integral helping tools in difficult, or challenging situations. Lindsay's podcast of the same name is the world's top ranking Tarot podcast with over 7 millions downloads and counting! Susie & Esther chat to Lindsay about how their Tarot journey began; their soul-centred approach to Tarot and belief that there are 'no bad cards'; and how each Tarot card is 'an opportunity to grow and expand through life's challenges and contractions'. We also find out what's next for Lindsay with some lovely opportunities to engage with Tarot for the Wild Soul coming up... (see links for more details). It was a great pleasure to welcome Lindsay to the show and the resulting chat is a delight. Tawny and Lisa talk about being discerning with what we add to our plates and what we say “no” to. Our tendency to be “people pleasers” means we end up saying yes to things we don't want or need to do to avoid disappointing others. But oftentimes, that concern can be misplaced or exaggerated. We can also tweak the way we accept invitations if they would otherwise take too much out of us (hint, hint: boundaries!). The bottom line is that managing our energy budgets is a priority for our mental health. Happy Capricorn Solstice to you! For those on the Northern Hemisphere, this is the shortest day of the year – a sacred invitation within. For those on the Southern Hemisphere, this is the longest day of the year – a time of great illumination. Either way, wherever you find yourself in the world, the Sun is conjunct the Galactic Center – the center of our Milky Way galaxy. This is a potent time of the year to realign with your cosmic self, offering you wisdom for new beginnings. In honor of this special time of the year, Lindsay Mack and I gathered together at their home to record a special Year Ahead podcast episode for 2024. In this podcast episode we reflect on this past year, 2023, as a 7 year – connected to both the Chariot (7) and the Tower (16 = 1 + 6 = 7); and anticipate the invitation of this new year, 2024, as an 8 year – connected to both Strength (8) and the Star (17 = 1 + 7 = 8). We then offer intuitive insight for the coming year, pulling 2 cards for the Collective, and 2 cards for each element: Fire signs, Earth signs, Air signs, and Water signs. The decks we use are: Tarot of the Holy Spectrum and the Cosmic Cousins Astro Oracle. ____________________________________________________________ Learn more about Lindsay and dive into all of their courses (including The Threshold and more)and free resources by going to tarotforthewildsoul.com Sign up for the newsletter: https://www.tarotforthewildsoul.com/mailing-list Got Q's for Lindsay to answer on the podcast and beyond? This week we're in conversation with Eli Lawliet, Ph.D., a practicing gender doula, who is also helping to develop the field of doulas with a specialization in supporting clients who are transitioning or exploring their gender. Eli is also a witch with a toolkit of spiritual service and tools including breathwork, ritual work, tarot and more. We get it into all of it - the inherent queerness of spiritual practices, the history of moral panics that follow increased visibility of queer and trans people, and the various ways doulas can support anyone going through a transformative experience or navigating systems of care that cause trauma. Eli shares their favorite tarot card and Sarah pulls a card for Robin from the Dirt Gems plant oracle deck to close out the episode.Resources and practitioners mentioned in this episode include: Erica Livingston, Lindsay Mack, Julia Inglis, Fifth Spirit TarotEli Lawliet, Ph.D., (he/him) is The Gender Doula - offering full-spectrum support to folks who are transitioning, questioning, or exploring their gender. Welcome to Episode 514 of the Yeukai Business Show. In this episode, Sarah Tye and Yeukai Kajidori talk about the importance of having a mindset of abundance and changing your view of success. So, if you want to know more about the mindset of abundance, tune in now! In this episode, you'll discover: Abundance mindset and the importance of self-improvementOvercoming fear and mindset blocks around charging for servicesThe importance of asking important questions in pursuing personal goals and business endeavors About Sarah Tye Is a Spiritual Advisor and an intuitive Tarot Reader. She was mentored through a course by Lindsay Mack called Rewilding the Tarot. Sarah has given well over a thousand readings ranging from one-on-one clients to Events that she has hired for as well. Her Tarot Skill is a bit unique as she does not do fortune telling and does not focus much on the future when she works with her clients. Most of what comes through is more of a spiritual roadmap to help them see where they are coming from, where they are now, and what tools the Higher Self/spirit is inviting them to utilize to help them get where they want to go. Especially when she worked with clients who ask her about her career or business- these themes are almost always present: Working through Imposter syndrome, Death Cycles in businesses/following their alignment, worthiness, and self-care. What she does is bring these messages to her client's attention and give them an energetic roadmap to help them work through these blocks and create the future they desire. I'm so happy (and feel so honoured) to welcome my very first guest to the show this week. Shadi Eskandani is not only a peer and friend, she is also the Founder of Aatash Intuitive Healing Arts and uses Astrology, Tarot and Energy Work to hold healing space for folks. She is an Iranian/Canadian mama, business owner, soothsayer and just an amazing human. I've been working with Shadi through her astrology offerings for almost 2 years now and I can't speak highly enough about her work and her connection to something bigger. It has added another deeper and richer layer of knowing and supporting myself. We have really bonded in our shared experience of running a business around our intuitive healing works and something we are both really passionate about is the theme of practical magic. How we take the downloads and intuitive messages and inner knowing and make them practical for ourselves and for the folks we work with. Whether a symbol of completion, an indication of stuckness, or a signal for revised action, all card reversals bring medicine. When we greet a reversed Queen card, it can be a deep, impassioned plea from our very soul to pay attention, and come home to some aspect of ourselves that has been requesting our presence. In Part One of this two part series on the Queens reversed, we will dive into Queen of Pentacles and Queen of Swords, exploring what they mean, and how we can work with them. We also -- of course -- dig into what they invite us into when they show up reversed, and how we can respectfully, compassionately heed that call. CW: mentions of parenthood, systemic racism, trauma, ancestral trauma, unpaid labor that is regularly asked of folks of color, shared labor in parenting/co-parenting, light mentions of diet culture, fatphobia, and intuitive eating. Three of Wands is our card for the month of April, inviting us into some powerful and beautiful work around honoring ourselves in the midst of a “bridge” season of our lives, or moments when we find ourselves between two worlds. This card can be uncomfortable at times, but what it invites us into is rich and extraordinary: to hold ourselves in the present moment, knowing we are on the verge of some great and wonderful change. In today's episode, we dive into the heart of Three of Wands, chat a little about Aries season, The Emperor, and the Spring Equinox, and I answer a listener's question about how to get more comfortable in Tower seasons. Note: I am saying a sweet and grateful goodbye to the podcast (for now) as I transition into my maternity leave, and into some new projects (along with parenthood) that have been calling out to me for a little while. In our journey around daring to get our hopes up, how can we begin to tend to the feelings of worry, anxiety and overwhelm that can often arise? In this podcast episode, I share a bit about how my control issues originated in childhood, and how those control issues have shaped the way I view my current love life, my single status, and my approach to finding new love. I was inspired by something Lindsay Mack shared in her beautiful podcast, Tarot For The Wild Soul. She essentially said that we have no control over finding our love partner. This blew my mind, and still does! Because for so many years, I really thought I could control everything, including my path to love. Finally, I share about new ideas and ways in which I'm attempting to reframe this controlling way of thinking, in order to open me up to greater love and happiness! Also mentioned in this episode: Tarot For The Wild Soul With Lindsay Mack Episode #183: https://www.tarotforthewildsoul.com/episodes-transcripts/ep-183-opening-to-the-rainbows-with-ten-of-cups I Lost My Dream Life 12 Days Before Christmas: https://thegoddessattainable.com/i-lost-my-dream-life-12-days-before-christmas/Putting My Life In The Hands Of The Goddesses, I Think…: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/putting-my-life-in-the-hands-of-the-goddesses-i-think/id1564964662?i=1000550089761Support the show
This episode is almost three years in the making! I finally get the opportunity to sit down and chat with my biggest spiritual mentor and teacher, Lindsay Mack of Wild Soul Healing. In this episode, Lindsay and I step back from the powerful healing tool that is the Tarot, and direct our gaze towards the larger burning questions most new practitioners run into as they begin their own Tarot journey. Through a macrocosmic, microcosmic, and even a deeply personal lens, Lindsay and I seek to answer the question: "What is the Tarot, and better yet, why does it matter?" Bess was one of Sue's editors on Transitory Nature, and over the last year they developed a deep friendship. Bess and Sue dive into ALL THINGS ASTROLOGY together for the remainder of 2021 in this episode. We discuss Bess's book on Virgo & Leo, as well as her current creative and writing projects. Bess is also the narrator of the Audible version of Transitory Nature. "I loved working with Bess over the last year and deeply respect her voice, work and creations out in the world." says Sue. This is an Ep. you might listen back to several times exploring transits, eclipses and all 12 signs of the zodiac and the planetary currents for the rest of 2021. Enjoy! HAPPY CANCER NEW MOON! About Bess: "As a fierce, fiery youth (Aries stellium + Leo Moon), I spent the time I wasn't dancing in leopard print leotards or running around my neighborhood shirtless, speaking about all things mystical into my tape recorder for my closet cosmic radio show, and writing what I called “lipstick horoscopes” for an imaginary trapper keeper-bound mag called Teen Talk. I'd first discovered the mystical language of archetypes at age 10, in the glossy, full-color pages of DK's classic Parkers' Astrology volume. These pages detailed not only each zodiac sign's energetic and psychological components, but where you could find these energies in the material world. I reveled in my Aries Sun sign and its associations with everything from the pungency of cayenne pepper to the rough and ready streets of Marseilles, France. As I completed a PhD and finished up the final throes of my Saturn Return, everything came undone. In the words of my beloved tarot teacher, Lindsay Mack, it was a “sub-basement Tower moment.” Broken down and bottomed out, I nearly left the planet. And in that pitch black of 2013-2014, the stars were my headlamp. I returned to the mystical world and its cavernous capacity to beckon us closer to our complete carnality, as I reckoned with what lived inside of me. I learned to look it in the eye, to lick its skin, and to love it, no matter the cost. My work bloomed into everything from tarot dance classes to birth chart fragrance making. I slowly crawled back up to the surface of my own existence and built a career out of my belief that star-kissed synesthesia can bring us back to the selves we already are and are always becoming, as close and vital as a makeup case or dinner plate. I love with ferocity and tenderness and I can't stop, won't stop. I cry easily and hard. I'm scared of flying and don't ever want to die." + Bess Matassa Books: http://thestarparlor.com/books http://thestarparlor.com/services Find Sue & Dan here: https://www.suehunt.com/ Shop Live Lighty: https://www.suehunt.com/shop --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rhizomagazine/support

This week's episode features the one and only LINDSAY MACK, one of the leading Tarot readers in the US, talking all things Tarot and sobriety. YES, there is a link, which we get deep into in this conversation. Numinous followers will know Lindsay as our former Tarotscopes reader in residence, and will be familiar with her deeply grounded, nurturing, and no-nonsense teaching style. In her own words she is also THRIVING as a survivor of childhood abuse, and in this episode she describes how getting “sober curious” and removing alcohol from her life was the catalyst to not only her healing process, but to her connecting fully to her intuitive gifts and transforming her business and her life. In this episode we will hear about: -Lindsay's sobriety story, which began with her realizing she is literally allergic to alcohol -How alcohol is often used to mask or damp down intuitive gifts in a world that doesn't understand -What is means to be the “pattern breaker” in your family and how to deal -The importance of finding your “anchors” when facing—and healing—deep seated trauma -How we can use the Tarot we can use to help understand our relationship to substances and addiction -The healing cycle and how to ride the waves with compassion and self-love! Lindsay also shares details of her upcoming Tarot For The Wild Soul Course, which opens for enrollment on Tuesday February 12 2019.
