Maybe one day I will become popular enough o have Russell Brand sit down with me and shoot the shit on the podcast. What could our society look like if we started down a different path from our parents and created it in this vision? I can't count the amount of times I have made a vow to myself like this and failed at accomplishing it... 1. This is the last sweet I am having for a MONTH! 2. Taking the next 3 weeks off from drinking for sure 3. Definitely adding 10 minutes of meditation to my routine every day 4. OK, I am going to stop scrolling through Instagram's feed all the time...starting tomorrow 5. Going to work on that hobby/project every day for an hour to improve at it! 6. I am addicted to caffeine, I don't need it and I am taking the rest of the year off from it! In the moment these come from true sources of inspiration and motivation, yet once that feeling inevitably fades away, what are we left to do? We fall back into our old habits. Another pint of ice cream down, another day where we never found the time to read that book or forgot to go for that run...all of a sudden a year is behind us and we are no closer to creating the best version of ourselves in the way we want. That is the bad news. The good news is that everybody except for Elon Musk and Kevin Hart are doing the same fucking thing. There is an alternative however and it will get you from point A to point B, it just may take a little time and persistence. This episode I briefly go into the single most important hack I have discovered to slowly build those good habits into our lives without getting stressed or fretting about not accomplishing enough. What would you choose to take away/add to your life if you knew in a few months it could truly be a part of your lifestyle instead of something you do only when you remember? His TED talk "Do We See Reality?" has garnered over 3 million views and takes a dive off the deep end of the consciousness pool as it explores our place in the universe and our perceptions of our very own lives. Hear him explain and me attempt to understand how: 1. Humans are not made to see the truth 2. What reality actually looks and feels like 3. Scientifically, are we truly capable of altering our realities since we are not perceiving the "real" one anyway? 4.How we have evolved to be great at lying and deceiving ourselves and what to do about it Please subscribe and leave me a review on iTunes if you enjoy the show!
