This week we are joined by Ryan Marker of Screendrafts to talk about (In his opinion) one of the great, underrated, pre 9/11 airplane movies of all time. Place your trays in their upright positions, fasten your seatbelts, and enjoy today's in flight conversation on PUSHING TIN.As we work our way throught the plot of Mike Newell's air traffic control film, you may start to think you're losing your mind, but rest assured, this is actually the very literal plot of this film. Ryan shares his thoughts on why he thinks this movie is a hidden gem, Kenny ranks his hottest movie takes, from Tootsie to The Departed, and we do our best to reimagine this movie through the lens of a more capable director. We also pick apart Cate Blanchett's career (and rank our top 5 performances from her), as well as the strange masculinity of Billy Bob thornton.Find Ryan at: twitter.com/MarkerRyan625Patreon: patreon.com/podcastlikeits1989Twitter: twitter.com/podcastlikeitsInstagram: instagram.com/podcastlikeitsReddit: reddit.com/r/PodcastLikeIts See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Ryan Zadrazil, from Wisconsin, US, joins me in this episode to discuss mental health. Ryan is an executive at BetterMynd, an Online Therapy for College Students. BetterMynd Partners with colleges to improve the mental health of students everywhere. Below is an abridgment of our discussion: A lot of universities have recognized that students need help but there's not enough budget for that…students schedule appointments and this will not occur until another month out when they really need those counseling services there and there. That's when BetterMind can come in and provide those diverse counseling services to those students on campus. We need to prioritize our mental health. Our mental health, not only our physical, is equally important if we are to be well-rounded human beings. Some types of mental disorders: Anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias. Depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. Eating disorders. Personality disorders. Post-traumatic stress disorder. Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia. 4. There should be an all-encompassing mental health program from high school all through college – and people would be more aware of the issues they are facing. This will give them the ability to prevent some of the side effects that happen when they are unmedicated or don't understand what's going on in their minds. There isn't enough being done in this regard in the US and the world at large. 5. Dealing with mental issues: A morning routine coupled with breathing technics. The first hour of the day do things that will mentally prepare you – like listening to soothing music or going on a walk to get the spirit of serenity and calm. Also, have a wind-down routine at the end of your day. Find Ryan @: linkedin.com/in/ryanzadrazil Email ryanzadrazil@gmail.com --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mpilo-nkambule/support

Just recently I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down and talking with Ryan Weiss who is a life coach, writer, speaker, entrepreneur, but most importantly, he’s just an overall great person that just exudes so much compassion and empathy.Let me put it this way, I think if Tony Robbins and Jim Carrey had a spirit baby, it would be Ryan. Not only does he drop these knowledge bombs while also holding space, but he’s full of charisma, energy and has this really deep and special curiosity about life. And what I loved most about Ryan is that he will be the first person to tell you that he’s not a guru. He’s just a guy with a life much like yours who loves to share how he’s finding hope and joy even when the world around him seems to crumble from time to time. You can imagine that as one of LA's premier Life Coach and meditation teacher, we had a lot to talk about. And on this episode, we talked about Ryan's core wound and how he's worked through it and we also talk alot about how to sit, process and accept uncomfortable emotions.Ryan is also the founder of the Sanctuary Challenge — a free 60 day commitment to five daily self-care practices currently being undertaken by thousands of people all over the the world.Find Ryan on Instagram, here.Find the Sanctuary Challenge on Instagram, here.Don't forget, you can save 20% and get free shipping when you use the code CALEB at manscaped.com
