THE DEEP DIVE is not your normal podcast because, well, there are no rules. The aim of the show is to give an authentic look into the minds of the thought leaders and game changers of today by allowing the audience to be a “fly on the wall” for an hour-long conversation. It is my hope that this level of authenticity will allow people to see that being successful isn’t about WHAT you think, but HOW you think.

I've been inspired by her message, and have always admired her ability to be so raw and truthful on her platform, and on this episode we talk about that level of vulnerability and if it is always healthy to be so real.    We talk about:   Some of the deep experiences that have come from medicine ceremonies, and what can be shared.   Our own personal perspectives of what is sacred about our own experience, and when it's valuable to share with others.  The difference between sharing for validation, and sharing for the purpose of allowing others to experience their own healing.  Have you ever gone through a difficult break up? These challenging times can actually be the most pivotal moments of our lives, but unfortunately the medicine can be easy to miss. That's why I've just launched Breakups and Breakthroughs, a 10 week course to help you move through the various stages of a breakup faster, and in a more supportive and healthy way. Are you frustrated with dating?  I've heard this a lot lately, that there are not enough conscious men out there in the dating pool. Well, considering myself a conscious man as well as a single one; this question has confused me. The fact is, I know a lot of conscious and really amazing single men and have been impacted a lot in my own view of dating and sexuality because of the men I choose to surround myself with. So, where are they all?  For this conversation I am chatting with sacred sex and tantra instructor and astrologer who leads retreats around the globe, Cat Caitlinn. The topic of consciousness and spirituality in the dating world, and its role in the masculine and feminine dynamic has been one that I've wanted to dive into for a while, and I think I may have found the perfect person for the job.  We talk about:   Astrology! In fact, I even get a little reading from Cat in this episode…  The personal development industry and why it is apparently feminine dominant.  The difference in sexuality inside and out of the conscious community, and how it is affecting dating and relationships.    Can I text you? Do you lose yourself in romantic relationships?  If you answered yes to this question, don't worry; you are normal. In fact, most of us experience this especially in the beginning of a new partnership or in the midst of falling in love. It's easy to do. New love is a dopamine hit that is unlike anything else, and relationships themselves often become a very safe space that can be easy to find shelter in when dealing with a relatively uncertain world. These aren't necessarily bad things, but when left unchecked can actually create unhealthy codependency and actually put a lot of strain on any relationships; romantic, business, and otherwise.  This week my guest is Charles Clay; a high level coach, husband, and father of 2. With two new lives to be responsible for, he and his wife get to experience the sometimes challenging dynamic of keeping their sovereignty in what can be a very busy and demanding experience; and he has some amazing tips and tricks on how to do so.  For more from Charles, check out www.charlesclay.coach Can I text you? But how do you balance the responsibilities of life with the greater search for meaning?  This week's conversation with Eka Darville was one of my favorites. It is a beautifully intense process of really opening, being willing to be seen and see yourself, and also ready to step into the work that it takes to move through some of the traumas and woundings that hold us all back.    This week, I brought on Tim Morrison; an artist, healer, and facilitator who has experienced his own profound healing journey and has also worked with so many in their own processes to find deeper levels of themselves and their truth. I found that Tim and I had a lot in common, and I think you will too. After all, healing is kind of a collective thing is it not?     We talk about: Some of our own personal journey of healing.  The work it can take to recognize patterns of trauma and start the work.  The importance of healing work, especially in today's day and age, and how healing ourselves can be a collective effort.  The depths of sexual trauma, and the mountain it can be to process and move through something that happens too regularly to both men and women.    For more from Tim Morrison, check out www.tim-morrison.com    Can I text you? What does impact does spirituality have on dating?  I find it hard to define WHAT the spiritual community actually is. Whether it's conscious, woke, spiritual; it seems that there is a common thread in this community; relationships seem to be difficult to maintain. It's no secret that there seem to be more short term relationships than long term, at least from my perspective. But why is that? Shouldn't spiritually aware couples have an easier time understanding each other, or relating with one another in supportive and sustainable ways?  For this topic I brought in my good friend, who is a coach and has specifically focused a large part of his energy and research towards masculine and feminine dynamics in and out of romantic partnerships.  In this episode we talk about: Why longer term "conscious" relationships seem to be struggling The effect that the healing of the wounded masculine, and the rise of the divine feminine, is having on polarity.  Key take aways for couples looking to experience more polarity, more connection, while continuing to find deeper levels of spirituality both separately and together.  It doesn't have to be either/or. But as always, it's the awareness and intention that counts when it comes to dating.

An artist struggling to make ends meet seems to make sense to a lot of people, which for a culture that relies SO heavily on art and the artists that devote their life to the mastery of what they do, has always perplexed me. Why do we value art so much in this society, yet see so many artists struggling financially? Does the spiritual community have a narcissism problem?  We are all in search of answers. Answers to the higher purpose for our life, to the truth about God or consciousness, and much more. The problem with humans is it seems that the closer we get to what we consider to be the answer, the more entitled and invested we become to the “knowledge” itself. Narcissism is an interesting trait, because it almost carries with it the tendency to close our minds and hearts to further growth, or information. When we pretend, or even believe, that we know more than others around us; we run the risk of halting our own growth in the process.  I see this happening in the spiritual community, as it continues to become more trendy and “IG-worthy”. It's a complicated topic, because violence itself is sometimes reactionary; meaning that there are two sides to it. What role do artists play in society today?  For thousands of years art has been arguably one of the most important parts of our culture as human beings. Art breaks language barriers, and connects us and our history in a way that nothing else can. We have used art to communicate our history and the truth of our human experience, and in many ways the art is what paints the picture (pun intended) of what our own story and history looks like. It is also one of the things to be subjected to censorship in times of upheaval and transition.  This week I virtually sat down with Canadian hip hop artist, journalist, filmmaker, and some would say artistic activist, Matt Brevner. Matt provides a lens on his own experience of “the global pause button of 2020” and how it has shaped how he's using his art and why. The ability for artists to speak from a place of truth is one of the most valuable things that we have in our culture, and also one of the most fragile. What makes a great leader?  It's in times like this, when the world seems to fall further and further into confusion and division, that we look to our leaders for the answers that we need. Throughout history, leadership in times of crisis has made legends out of sometimes relatively normal human beings who, in those moments, were willing to stand firm in their values and guide others to do so as well. But, in a world where the gray area between right and wrong continues to grow, what does it actually mean to be a leader?  This week I talk leadership, and masks, with Nathan Kohlerman. Nathan is an amazing human who is a health and wellness wizard, founder of NeuIntention, and advocate for sovereignty who has spoken his truth about the need for masks during this time, and comes from a place of strength when it comes to his own values and his why. At a time when good leadership is of the utmost importance, one thing I believe good leaders should be doing is opening up these subjects for conversation. Enjoy the episode.  Can I text you? WTF Is Going On? Will Smith And The War In Ukraine

Have you heard the news?  It says something about the state of our culture when I would legitimately be equally as surprised if you said you hadn't heard about the war going on in Ukraine, or the fact that Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has had it's fair share of shocking discoveries, and it's a major topic of discussion today, but nothing shocks the world more than a good old celebrity scandal; and that came this month in the form of one of the more beloved celebrities of our age being overcome with shadow, and choosing to react in a way that has blown up the internet.   This week, on another episode of WTF Is Going On? I want to weigh in on some important takeaways from both of these issues and share a little bit of my perspective. It's easy to jump to our own opinions, and react in whatever suits the emotion; but in these times I feel like it has never been more important to really step back and observe not only the events themselves, but why we feel the way we do about them. Enjoy the episode, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.  Can I text you? Brenden Durell - Is It Harder Being A Man Than A Woman In Modern Times?

What does it mean to be a man today?  Ok, be honest. Were you triggered when you read the title of this week's podcast episode? I get it. Two major topics in today's culture (especially in the personal development space) are the rise of the feminine and mens work, and the line between the two can be a little blurry. The truth is that women have been silenced, objectified, and straight up mistreated in our culture (and others) for way too long and it's refreshing to see the rise that is happening and the power that is being claimed. What I am noticing however, is how confusing this is making it to be a man today. Where is the line between toxic masculinity and embodied kingship? What do women actually want in a man?  For this touchy subject, I chatted with coach, mentor, and speaker Brenden Durell. Brenden has worked with numerous men and women, and was also featured as a coach on the popular Netflix reality series, Too Hot To Handle. The subject of what it means to be a man in today's day and age is an important one, and a very confusing one as well. I believe that we get closer to a healthy answer to that question the more that we open our hearts to the conversation. Can I text you? Benji and Edwin Gonzalez - How Would A 13-Year Old Change The World?

Do you believe in our youth? The world can seem like a pretty crazy place sometimes, especially when dealing with all the hustle and bustle of being an adult in today's day and age. We have responsibilities, stresses and worries, relationships, and are all navigating through it in a world that is changing every single day. Sometimes, especially if we don't have children, it can be easy to forget how the world today is affecting the children growing up in it. To have a bright future, it's important to empower our youth with information and guidance. But, what may be unexpected sometimes is how much we can actually learn from our youth and to see how much perspective they already have on the problem in our world and what they might do differently. Were we the same way when we were kids?  This week, I decided to do something a little different. For the first time, I brought on 13 year old Benji Gonzalez, accompanied by his father Edwin, to talk about the world from the perspective of the youth. Benji stands out as a young teen who is hopeful for the world and focuses his energy on spreading a message of love and acceptance, rather than how to be cool or to fit in. Could this be the start of a world where tolerance and love for each other is the new cool? Enjoy the episode, and to follow along with Benji and Edwin check them out on Instagram at @benji.o_0 and @iam_edwin_gonzalez  My E-book “Treat Yourself Like Someone You Love” outlines my 3 top steps to loving yourself more in your day today life, and how to make self love a part of your routine. Marc Angelo Coppola - Is This All One Big Conspiracy Theory?

Do conspiracy theories even exist anymore?  Remember not so long ago, when conspiracy theories or conspiracy theorists were seen as crazy tinfoil hat wearing nut jobs that spent too much time preaching about doomsday events, ufo's and government cover ups and that sort of thing. Well, after the last two years of witnessing the world deal with a global pandemic and how it's been dealt with, as things that were previously covered up come to light, should we even consider these theories anymore? It's becoming more and more apparent that we are not exactly privy to all the information out there that really decides how we live as a society, or the systems that dictate some of the most important aspects of life today. One of the major questions of the last two years; What is actually going on here?  For this conversation I brought entrepreneur, farmer, and story teller Marc Angelo Coppola into a conversation examining the root of what a conspiracy is, are people inherently evil, and what lies underneath this movement of polarization that we've seen grow so radically in recent years on our planet.  Are you ready to experience some magic? This Friday, I'm so excited to be teaming up with Taylor Simpson for an epic master class “No F*cks Given”, where we are going to give some tangible tools and takeaways on how to give less f*cks, and make more money in the process. Zahara Zimring - Is It Unhealthy To Constantly Push Your Edges?

Are you pushing yourself to your edge?  Life is full of edges and boundaries. Figuring out the difference between the two is a great way to explore and grow in a way that is healthy and helps you to continue discovering how to live as authentically as possible. But pushing yourself to your own edge is not easy, and by no means comfortable. It's a process that will inevitably have you facing off with your fears and with parts of yourself that often go swept under the rug. This is where real growth lies, where real expansion can have a truly profound impact on your life and your reality.  This week I invited my good friend, and “edge pushing addict” Zahara Zimring, to have a real conversation about boundaries versus edges, and what benefits can come from being open to exploring both. Do we need to be constantly pushing our edges, or is it healthy sometimes to just exist in contentment and in containers we feel safe in? Is feeling safe an edge in itself? Let's dive deep.  Can I text you? Cam Fraser - Have Men Been Conditioned To Fear Pleasure?

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 2, 2022 69:11

Is it wrong to want pleasure?  It may seem like a weird question, like who doesn't want to experience pleasure? But it's actually pretty surprising how many of us, and predominantly men, think that pleasure is a sign of weakness. Self love, pleasure practice, inner work, etc, these (to some) embody feminine sides of us, and for a lot of men who are caught up in a somewhat wounded version of what the masculine is, this can be confronting. Often when we think pleasure, we think sex. But pleasure is something that is experienced in so many ways in our life, through every single one of our senses, and learning more about how to find pleasure in all aspects of your life is a secret to a generally healthier overall experience.  For this week's episode I was honored to have this conversation with Cam Fraser, an amazing sex coach as well as a certified Sexologist, counselor, and among other things; host of the "Men, Sex, and Pleasure" podcast. I myself have been a fan of Cam's work, and followed along with his message for years, which is why I thought he would be perfect to discuss the topic of male sexuality, and the purpose of pleasure in the healing of masculinity.  Enjoy the episode.  Can I text you? Are you staying up to date?  It's ok if you're not. Let's face it, there is SO much going on in the world today that the thought of keeping yourself in the know is somewhat overwhelming. We are currently seeing a state of being around the globe that is, I would say, unprecedented in our human history. So much so that there are things going on in this world, important and transformational things, tragedies and events, breakthroughs and accomplishments, that we will never even hear about. What is rising to the surface, especially on a mainstream level, are things like the pandemic, vaccines, protests, and the narrative is somewhat controlled depending on where you are getting your information from.  This week I wanted to update you. Not as an expert or a correspondent, but as a human being who has access (for the most part) to the same information that you do. I want to update you on a few issues from the last month that I find extremely important to be aware of, and what my perspective on it is. I hope it provides some insight, some value, and at the very least some awareness to some of the important stories of our current reality.  Can I text you? How do we remember who we are? If we are to look at ourselves as a stream of consciousness, a soul or spirit, then we naturally must acknowledge that there is something bigger at play than just these human bodies and our short time on this earth. Many belief systems or spiritual practices acknowledge the possibility, for some the reality, that there are other dimensions and other lives that we have navigated before (and after) we ever embody these human forms. So where do we really come from, and what knowledge might we have stored in the deepest chambers of our consciousness?  For this question, there was no better people to discuss with than Ahaumna and Alex Tarris. You may remember Ahuamna from the episode “Is New Age Spirituality Syphoning Energy For The A.I Matrix”, and it was one that frankly blew a lot of minds and raised some deep questions about the current state of our planet and what the reasons and intentions behind it are. This week, I believe, will be no different; as Ahaumna and Alex continue the conversation and bring in further perspectives and clarity on their take of what's going on cosmically and universally to bring us to this current timeline here on earth.
