An idea - whether it's a business, a book, or a brand isn't just an object. It's a living dynamic organism that has come to us, and us alone, for a reason. This beautiful thing chose us to flow through and co-create with us, and that's a vision that needs no one's approval to bloom. It's a completely different way of doing business, yes, but it is a more sustainable approach. Resonance is two energy waves coming together - a Source-given match between creator and creation. That's why the most resonant businesses come from within. Our body's wisdom will always tell us what's resonant and what's dissonant. We need to have courage to honor whatever's happening inside our body, regardless of what the external thinks. It's a powerful practice, not just for being, playing and loving, but also for creating things that never stop regenerating. For Suzy Batiz, this model was a huge aspect behind Poo~Pourri. How did this idea come to her? How did she overcome the need for approval? How do we take this lesson from her and learn to trust our body's wisdom (and actually listen to it)? In this episode, we're delighted to be joined by Suzy. She shares the journey she's taken, and why resonance should always be an ingredient in our creative process. Having the courage to honor whatever's happening inside your body regardless of what the external thinks about it. That's the practice. -Suzy Batiz Three Things You'll Learn In This Episode -The idea has its own desires When built on resonance, the essence of our creation naturally amplifies out. What's the danger in taking an outside-in approach? -Warning: logic can be faulty Our brains are powerful creation machines but why is the body more reliable? -Mind the override What happens when we ignore the resonant voice inside us in favor of making everyone else comfortable? Guest Bio Suzy Batiz is an entrepreneur and the founder of Poo~Pourri. She has been featured by leading publications including Forbes, CNBC, Fast Company and Entrepreneur. She has been named one of Forbes' Richest Self-Made Women in America (2019), EY's Entrepreneur of the Year (2017), Conscious Company's World Changing Women (2019), EarthX's Community Leader of the Year (2019) and is WBENC (Women Owned) certified business owner. Does consciousness have a place in business? As the world continues to shift and change, we begin to look more closely at not only our own personal development, but how to incorporate that awareness into the way that we do business both personally, and professionally. This week I am chatting with entrepreneur, business owner, and also someone devoted to her own personal development and growth, Dom Farnan. We talk about: Dom's experience of how her own spiritual awakening has affected her business and professional life. The challenges of the journey from unconsciousness to self and spiritual awareness. What it means, and what was learned in the process of learning how to run a conscious business in today's world. What does it mean to be wealthy? There is something interesting that happens when the subject of money comes up in conversation. Some lean in with willingness to learn or share, and some retract or even sometimes can become defensive or closed off. It is a somewhat polarizing conversation, and it is in this dichotomy that I believe some of the keys lie to actually making money in the first place. This week I talked with one of my best friends, an inspiring entrepreneur and coaches who I have the pleasure of creating and working with, not to mention someone who became a millionaire at 24 years old and has not only a deep understanding of money, but a desire to always be learning. Gerard Adams and I have had many conversations about wealth and money, and this week I invite you to join us in this conversation of wealth and what we have learned on the path to financial freedom. We talk about: Gerards inspiring back story of making his first million at a young age, and what he learned as he reflects back now. The mindset that it takes to attract wealth, and how it can sometimes take more than we bargain for. Some of the ways we can not only become more of a match to wealth, but actually prepare ourselves for it. Each individual will react differently to the medicine which can be largely shaped by the set and setting of your experience as well as your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state prior to joining. If you're interested in this or a similar experience, we recommend you do your own research and speak to others who have done it so you can best determine if it is a good fit for you at this time. Should you decide to do so, we strongly suggest doing so with great reverence and respect for the medicine and the powerful effects it can create in your life. We also recommend anyone working with this medicine spend time preparing themselves before their ceremony(s) and have resources lined up to support them in their integration post ceremony(s).Also, it is important to note that the plants and compounds mentioned in this post are still illegal in many countries, and even possession can carry severe criminal penalties. None of this post constitutes medical advice or should be construed as a recommendation to use psychedelics. There are serious legal, psychological, and physical risks. Psychedelics are not for everyone—they can exacerbate certain emotional problems, and there have been, in very rare cases, fatalities.

Get ready for a deep conversation with the potential to change how you see yourself, those around you, and what you expect from life. Suzy’s perspective is that of a wise human who has done the work that many of us would rather avoid just to get on with achieving various success markers. We dug deep into Suzy’s life’s work and what it takes to truly transform our lives and be open to new perspectives of what we can do with it. About Suzy Batiz Transformation is the common thread that runs throughout founder and creator Suzy Batiz’s life and her companies. Whether transforming the bathroom into a pleasant-smelling experience with Poo~Pourri, the household cleaning industry from toxicity to aromatherapeutic magic with supernatural or people’s lives with her growing portfolio of ALIVE OS™ courses, Suzy is a revolutionary explorer of infinite potential in the playground of life. She loves to inspire others and bring them along for the ride, with energy being her native tongue. Suzy experienced some of life’s lowest lows — poverty, sexual and domestic abuse, depression, two bankruptcies and a suicide attempt — leading to what she calls the luxury of losing everything. Through her journey of liberation from a lifetime of oppression, convention and conformity, she discovered the power of pattern-breaking thinking and curated a radical “Trinity of Transformation.” Harnessing the energy of intuition and transformation, Suzy built her businesses from the ground up without ever taking a dollar of outside investment, building ALIVE IDEAS into a nine-figure empire. As creator of each brand, Suzy currently serves as Chief Visionary Officer and Chairwoman of Poo~Pourri, CEO of supernatural and Chief Explorer of ALIVE OS™. She continues to build her brands using the transformative principles that she now shares with the world through ALIVE OS™, embodying her belief that our external world is simply a reflection of our internal state of being. Suzy has been featured by leading publications including The New Yorker, Forbes, TODAY, People, CNBC, Fast Company and Entrepreneur. She has been named one of Forbes’ Richest Self-Made Women in America (2019, 2020), EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year (2017), Conscious Company’s World Changing Women (2019), EarthX’s Community Leader of the Year (2019) and is WBENC (Women Owned) certified business owner. Suzy has also been interviewed for Leaders Create Leaders, Modern Hero & Marie Forleo’s Marie TV and has given presentations for Conscious Capitalism, Google, HustleCon, SXSW, Create & Cultivate & the In goop Health summit. Show Notes Self-Compassion: How can we be more compassionate to ourselves? According to Daoism, the path to enlightenment is to accept and allow. Suzy talks about both steps. Self-Trust: How to start trusting ourselves? Suzy shares an Alive OS ™ exercise. Acceptance: What are your expectations? Can you accept what is? Self-Empowerment: What role does it play in adding flow in our moves through life? Trusting Others: How to start trusting others is to fully trust yourself. Awareness: Accept what is. Terror: It’s hard to be still if you are in pain or feeling terror? Again, turn your focus to heal pain to open up your direct path to infinite wisdom. About Suzy Batiz Transformation is the common thread that runs throughout founder and creator Suzy Batiz's life and her companies. Whether transforming the bathroom into a pleasant-smelling experience with Poo~Pourri, the household cleaning industry from toxicity to aromatherapeutic magic with supernatural or people's lives with her growing portfolio of ALIVE OS™ courses, Suzy is a revolutionary explorer of infinite potential in the playground of life. She loves to inspire others and bring them along for the ride, with energy being her native tongue. Suzy experienced some of life's lowest lows — poverty, sexual and domestic abuse, depression, two bankruptcies and a suicide attempt — leading to what she calls the luxury of losing everything. She has been named one of Forbes' Richest Self-Made Women in America (2019, 2020), EY's Entrepreneur of the Year (2017), Conscious Company's World Changing Women (2019), EarthX's Community Leader of the Year (2019) and is WBENC (Women Owned) certified business owner. What's going on everyone, Welcome to another edition of Confessions of a Native Son, I'm your host "IRON" Mike Steadman. I'm a Marine Corps Veteran, Entrepreneur, and Aspiring author, who enjoys thought-provoking and engaging dialogue about race, culture, and business. In the following episode, I finally close out the Always Faithful series, where I share my experience as an African-American Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Talking about this material has been physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting for me, with that being said, I'm happy to share it with you all. Between this episode and the 3 previous ones, I've logged over 10 hours of audio on my experience, which is humbling and amazing at the same time. For me, this series has been very therapeutic for me, and I hope you've been able to learn and grow from it. After recording and releasing the 5-hour behemoth that is Ep.22, where I detail my Afghan war experience and getting relived in combat, I knew I needed some support-up for this final episode of this series. In order to assist me, I brought back my brother from another mother, Mikoto Yoshida, from Episode 18. "Confessions of An Asian-American." Miko interviews me about what is like returning home from Afghanistan After being relieved, how I managed to cope, and what led to my return to my Battalion after a brief stint with the Marine Corps Boxing Team (If you even want to call it that). I confess to Miko that I felt I didn't have what it took to lead Marines anymore and how I may or may not have been suffering from some form of PTSD, ultimately resulting in a fear of leading again. I managed to push through the shame and embarrassment and ultimately rebuild myself, while simultaneously helping others. The truth is none of that what have not been possible if it wasn't for one amazing Company Commander and a peer group of lieutenants who helped me regain my courage. If you've been following me this far, this is an episode you don't to miss. I also can assure not 5 hours either. As always, thank you for spending your time with me and I hope you enjoy the show.

For today's episode on The Resilient Minds Podcast, I am happy and proud to introduce to you a great friend, one of my amazing mentors, and the CEO of Leaders Create Leaders, Gerard Adams. Gerard Adams is known as The Millennial Mentor, a thought leader, serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and philanthropist and his purpose is to inspire other Millennials to leverage their passions to create the successful lifestyles they dream of. During this talk, Gerard and I went deep and he shared how it was not an easy path for him growing up. When he was still young, he said that he was such a rebel, a misfit and he got entangled with a lot of difficulties leading his life down the troubled path that so many of us can relate to. Tune in to find out what defining moment changed the trajectory of his life and how he became a self-made multimillionaire by the age of 24, but not without overcoming obstacles, fear, and self-doubt. As our conversation goes deeper, we talk about failures, leadership, and the true meaning of success and speak to the energy of Tony Robbins and how he says, "Success without fulfillment is the ultimate failure." At the end of the day, we can achieve the pinnacle of financial success but it won't matter if we don't feel any fulfillment at all - we still failed to serve our true purpose. As Gerard shares, "We all have our own unique path but there are certain systems, certain strategies, there's also real wisdom and experience that is out there that can help you to really step into your legend - that can really make you the best leader that you can be." What will you learn: •What is the mission behind Leaders Create Leaders. •What are the two (2) rules to leadership. •The true meaning of success for Gerard Adams. •How to activate your conscious leader within. •Gerard's valuable insights, profound wisdom, and core values. •What is The Machine and how it can help you to optimize and systemize the five (5) divisions of your business.
