I have always been super curious about many subjects like music, spirituality, filming, technology to name a few. This podcast is an online expression of my curiousness! I have a studio where I record music. I rehashed the studio to do podcasts as well. It involved getting a few pieces of hardware, a camera and some lights. My guests range from locomotive engineers to advaita practitioners to dancers, musicians, entomologists, and so on. I not too much into pop culture. Basically, I am sharing the by-products of my curiousness! We appreciate your support either by making a small donation to support the podcast or by sharing our podcast it with your friends. Thank you!

An innovative Israeli company is pioneering the future of food by introducing 3D printed meat. Using state-of-the-art technology, they're crafting meat from either plant-based ingredients or animal cells. This approach promises numerous benefits including greater sustainability, improved animal welfare, unparalleled customization, and potential solutions to food security challenges. While the innovation has the potential to revolutionize our culinary landscape, it also faces challenges such as public acceptance and regulatory issues. This development not only showcases a technological marvel but also hints at a transformative shift in our relationship with food, positioning Israel at the helm of a possible global culinary revolution. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nallamadras/support
I was always decrying people who were vegetarians. My line would always be, "Guys, you don't know what you are missing." Then it happened. The ones I derided are now doing target practice on me, but I can see a glimmer of admiration in their eyes! While it is not easy to transition, there are plenty of resources to help you along, like cookbooks and videos. However, some restaurants, holiday packages, cruises, and the like have few vegetarian options. So do your research before ending up at a location and realize all you have is a dish of spinach with bits of bacon picked out of it. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nallamadras/support
This tune was composed by Walter Kaufmann, a Jew, and played by violinist Mehli Mehta a Parsi, for a radio station first founded by Professor M V Gopalaswamy, who taught Psychology at Mysore University. Some of you must have guessed it by now. It is the signature tune of All India Radio. Mehli Mehta, incidentally, is the father of composer-conductor Zubin Mehta. Almost eight decades have passed since the composition of this piece is based on the raga Shivaranjini. However, the lilting violin notes played over a tambura still manage to evoke a sense of longing. The signature tune was followed immediately by Vande Mataram. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nallamadras/support
Antonio Xavier Vaz, better known as Chic Chocolate, was a popular jazz musician in Bombay. He also worked as a composer and trumpet player for Hindi film scores. Chic Chocolate and Chris Perry led a two-trumpet barrage at the Green's Hotel. Chic Chocolate was a nightclub performer for most of his career, but he was also a talented film composer, recording and arranging soundtracks for several films. Chic was a successful Bollywood music composer. In 1951, he worked as a music director for the first time on Nadaan. Aa Teri Tasvir Bana Lu by Talat Mahmood and Sari Duniya Ko Piichhe Chodkar by Lata Mangeshkar were two of Nadaan's most popular songs. Chic Chocolate was a part of C. Ramchandra's team. Two of Ramachandra's most popular Bollywood songs are Gore Gore O Banke Chore from Samadhi and Shola Jo Bhadke from Albela. Chic Chocolate is to be credited for these songs. Lata Mangeshkar sang the song Koi Dard Hamara Kya Samjhe in the 1952 film Rangili, on which they collaborated. He is remembered today for his collaboration with Madan Mohan and his work with Naasir in the 1956 film Kar Bhala. Chic worked as the film's assistant music director. The movie Albela featured him in a song sequence with his band dressed in frilly Latin-inspired costumes and a cameo appearance. Chic wore the costumes from the film for his subsequent live performances. Chic and his family, including his wife Martha and their children, lived in a Colaba apartment until he died in May 1967, at 51. Chetan Anand's Aakhri Khat was released shortly after. Several shots in the movie showed Chic Chocolate playing his trumpet from the bandstand during the blues song Rut Jawan. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nallamadras/support
The art of divination is a skill that has been practiced for ages. The various ways are by something as gory as checking the entrails of a bird, which was the form practiced by the ancient Romans. Thank goodness, it is not so messy these days! However, most practitioners are still stuck in a time warp, meaning they are not in touch with reality. Many of the cures for a bad time in your life involves cures that are worse than the problem in terms of expense and effort. Nehaa Goyal, of Nehaa Goyal Shreem Reading, is what one would call a modern-day divinatory. In addition, she is a mindset coach, Tarot reader, numerologist, and NLP Coach. And, I'm honored to have their words by my side" says Jim. "In the past 25 years I've studied shamanic healing, reiki, buddhism, daoism, mindfulness and the curative arts to bring about my own growth and healing and that of those around me. All objects around us have three dimensions. The length, breadth, and height. This is well known and easy to comprehend. Now, everything that we see can destruct with time. An ice cube melts before your eyes, and you can see it disappear as it melts. Therefore, time becomes the fourth dimension. Just like you need a vessel to hold water, the object with its three dimensions, and time, the fourth dimension has to exist in an environment, like the vessel holding the water. So, the fifth dimension becomes space. In theory, specifically the string theory of quantum physics, there can be as many as 10 dimensions. As consciousness is thought to be all-pervading, there is a possibility that beings exist at all levels. The Abrahamic religions call them angels; Hinduism, an eastern religion, calls them devas. Nusra Sahin is the author of the book Multidimensional Consciousness and the New Earth. How to master a multidimensional lifestyle. uan Manuel comes from a legacy of spiritual leaders as his father and grandfather worked with Mayan spirituality. He is the mayor of the Cofradia of Rijlaj Mam and the Cofradia de las Animas, which makes his work key in the preservation of the Mayan wisdom. This was made possible by Solveig Barros, daughter of Carlos Barros. She has started a project called The Mayan Wisdom Project, in memory of her father Carlos Barros. She was the translator in this conversation. I left the Spanish parts of the conversation intact for those who know and understand Spanish. Carlos Barrios, a renowned Mayan Elder, experienced a strong urge to look for answers and find purpose when he was a young man. This desire led him to a journey of awakening, learning, and sharing some of the purest of ancient wisdom with the people, making him the first one to bring the teachings of the Mayans to Western society. This project will continue his legacy in order to transform the individuals of today. Wise women and men spent millennia uncovering the knowledge that ultimately helped them find direction. We are creating a community for learning that will connect you with the authentic spiritual leaders of Mesoamerica for them to share their wisdom.More details can be found at https://www.mayanwisdomproject.comSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/witcast?fan_landing=true)

Want to know more about the Parsi community? Watch this video of a podcast on WIT CAST - the talking heads.According to the 2011 Census of India, there are 57,264 Parsis in India.[34][35] According to the National Commission for Minorities, there are a "variety of causes that are responsible for this steady decline in the population of the community", the most significant of which were childlessness and migration-[36] Demographic trends project that by the year 2020 the Parsis will number only 23,000. The Parsis will then cease to be called a community and will be labeled a 'tribe'.[37]One-fifth of the decrease in population is attributed to migration.[38] A slower birthrate than death rate accounts for the rest: as of 2001, Parsis over the age of 60 make up for 31% of the community. Only 4.7% of the Parsi community are under 6 years of age, which translates to 7 births per year per 1000 individuals.[39] Concerns have been raised in recent years over the rapidly declining population of the Parsi community in India. The Parsis have made considerable contributions to the history and development of India, all the more remarkable considering their small numbers. As the maxim "Parsi, thy name is charity" alludes to, their most prominent contribution is their philanthropy.Although their people's name Parsi comes from the Persian-language word for a Persian person, in Sanskrit the term means "one who gives alms".[10][11] Mahatma Gandhi would note in a much misquoted statement,[82] "I am proud of my country, India, for having produced the splendid Zoroastrian stock, in numbers beneath contempt, but in charity and philanthropy perhaps unequaled and certainly unsurpassed."[83] Several landmarks in Mumbai are named after Parsis, including Nariman Point. The Malabar Hill in Mumbai, is a home to several prominent Parsis. Parsis prominent in the Indian independence movement include Pherozeshah Mehta, Dadabhai Naoroji, and Bhikaiji Cama.Particularly notable Parsis in the fields of science and industry include physicist Homi J. Bhabha, Homi N. Sethna, J. R. D. Tata and Jamsetji Tata, regarded as the "Father of Indian Industry". Karachi-based businessman Byram Dinshawji Avari is the founder of Avari Group of companies, and is a twice Asian Games gold medalist.[84] The families Godrej, Tata, Petit, Cowasjee and Wadia are important industrial Parsi families.Other Parsi businessmen are Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, J. R. D. Tata, Dinshaw Maneckji Petit, Ness Wadia, Neville Wadia, Jehangir Wadia and Nusli Wadia—all of them related through marriage to Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Mohammad Ali Jinnah's wife Rattanbai Petit, was born into two of the Parsi Petit–Tata families, and their daughter Dina Jinnah was married to Parsi industrialist Neville Wadia, the scion of the Wadia family. The husband of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, son-in-law of Jawaharlal Nehru, Feroze Gandhi, was a Parsi with ancestral roots in Bharuch.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/witcast?fan_landing=true)

A chat with Ms. Divya Vijay, blogger, television presenter, anchor, singer and entrepreneur. She was the anchor of Super Singer Season 3.It was refreshing to hear her take on gender equality, and the ease with which she takes on various roles. She probably makes it seem like she was at the right place at the right time, but like the cliche goes, fortune favors the brave. When the opportunity presents itself, grab it with both hands and make a success out of it, is probably her guiding mantra.I also got an insight of her filial love and how her parents have instilled values by example. The importance of a nurturing and conducive nest, can never be overstated.Hope some young viewers/listeners are encouraged and so to young parents who want their children to do well in life. Regi was with the Indian Railways for almost 26 years. He started of as a fireman on steam locos and is now a Transit Operator with the Toronto Transit Commission. This podcast is purely driven by my interest in trains and when I asked Regi to be my guest on WIT CAST, he readily agreed. With almost 33 years of experience as an engineer, he piloted steam engines, electric locos, and diesel locos! When most of us play around with toy trains, he actually piloted them from the driver's seat. Now, how awesome is that! Regi recalled how it was to pilot the trains at night, and his encounters with train robbers! Scary stuff. He had also some quaint incidents how village folk with assemble at small stations enroute for hot water from the engine! If you thought steam engines and diesel locos were fascinating for kids, think again. He recalled a story of how a business man would wait at the station during peak hour, just to watch trains whizz past. This is something I would do to and I accept any ridicule that may come my way!Trains are part of our culture. If I was asked do you want a ride on the space shuttle or in the cabin of a loco, the answer would be......no prizes for guessing that one. Suhir Ponncchamy is the director of ‘On Path to Liberation’ and several other features and short films. A Sri Lankan by birth, and an American by choice, Suhir is an amalgam of multi-cultures. We quote what he said in an interview with a prestigious magazine: "I am the best at casting. I know how to choose the right people. For me, it is the intelligence that is needed. Then comes screen presence. If a person is beautiful, the audience would watch him/her for some time. But after a point, they need more. But if a person is talented and can get into the skin of the role, maybe the audience would get bored for a minute. But, real talent attracts the audience and connects with them. So, that is why the audience never forgets talented people. But beauty fades away very soon". Well said Suhir! He learned his craft from the Tisch School of the Arts. His movie Ahead Xing is available on Amazon Prime.
