Patnaik  Cinematography: S Gopal Reddy  Editing: KV Krishna Reddy Art Direction: Rajesh Touchriver apparently  Fights: Ram Lakshman  Story - Producer: MS Raju  Screenplay: Parachuri Brothers  Direction: VN Aditya  Release Date: October 19th, 2001  After the flop of Deviputurdu in 2001, MS Raju was left in heavy losses and wanted to do a small movie either a love story or family movie  Then MS Raju's friend the legendary S Gopal Reddy said there's a new guy looking to make his debut as director VN Aditya he worked under Jayant C Paranji, he has matter or talent and gave him his phone number. VN Aditya said he had multiple offers to make his debut in various banners at the time. S Gopal Reddy gave him his phone number and MS Raju tried calling him 4-5 times but VN Aditya took to lightly as why would such a big producer be trying to call me.  But finally he met MS Raju in his office and he told me he wants to do a small movie, I'll tell you two lines, you tell me which one you like. VN Aditya selected the 2nd one. Inspired from Anmol Gad and Bhagyaraja's Darling Darling, MS Raju wrote the line. MS Raju and VN Aditya finished the script work  When the hero is crying in the rain, his friend tells him orey varsham kudos appudu appudu manaku mail chesthundi raa, mana kaneelu yedutha vaari kanapada kunda dachesthundi. This line touched MS Raju's heart (manasu hathukundi). He wrote a 25,000 rupee advance check to VN Aditya and confirm chesaru movie ni. Parachuri brothers worked on the screenplay. The day after, they announced the movie title Mansantha Nuvve. First choice was Mahesh Babu but he had already committed to a movie with Gunahskear at the time which was Okkadu and he rejected it. VN Aditya felt if a new hero did it, it would it better. At that time, MS Raju felt Chitram hero Uday Kiran would be a good fit. At that time, Uday Kiran was shooting for Nuvvu nenu and it had not released yet Then MS Raju went to the set and saw the rushes of Nuvvu Nenu and fixed Uday Kiran as the hero, and Reema Sen was confirmed as heroine. Then Parachuri brothers said the scenic order (in sequences) scenes aren't good, we have to change a lot, VN Aditya got sacreed and then within 10 days Aditya, MS Raju, Veeru Potla, and Parachuri Brothers worked on the script and readied a final version Then recently famous comedian Sunil was cast along with Chandramohan, Tanikella Bharani, and Sudha and then shooting started. Araku Valley, Hyderabad, and Malaysia they filmed the movie. Finished very less working days.  Budget was 1 crore 30 lakhs, because Nuvvu Nenu hadn't released, it was done in a lower budget, audio released and became a bumper hit, every song became a classic and The song "Tuneega Tuneega" became a massive hit. It was re-arranged from Vidyasagar's original composition "Kannadi Koodum Kootti" from Pranayavarnangal (1998). RP Patnaik worked a lot to get the antique watch sound right in re recording and mixing  MS Raju went for own release and on October 19th, 2001 movie release in theaters Literally everything in the movie the audience liked and RP Patnaik became a star music director in industry with his amazing re recording and BGM and VN Aditya got a good name after his 1st movie and would go onto to make Nenuannu. Relief for MS Raju and Sunil became a star comedian with this movie  Box office details, 3rd consecutive blockbuster for Uday Kiran after Chitram and Nuvvu nenu, ran for 100 days in 36, with shifts 175 days in 4 centers and collected 12 crores share overall and was one of the highest grossing movies of 2001. Uday Kiran also got an all time record: he is the only hero to deliver 3 straight blockbusters which gave 10 inthala laabam thechipette oke oka hero Uday Kiran.

Against High-Caste Polygamy: An Annotated Translation (Oxford UP, 2023) offers a complete, annotated translation of Ishvarchandra Vidyasagar's 1871 tract arguing against the practice of high-caste Kulin marriage in Bengal. Vidyasagar published this work fifteen years after passage of the Hindu Widow's Remarriage Act, which owed so much to his earlier reform leadership. However, in the wake of the Rebellion of 1857 British and Indian attitudes toward official intervention in customary practices underwent a sea change. The British were increasingly reluctant to create unrest, while many Indian leaders began to question the legitimacy of seeking government assistance for social change. The age of active collaboration between the British officials and Indian reformers had passed. In Against High-Caste Polygamy, Vidyasagar demonstrates both his continued faith in an earlier approach to reform and his frustration at the new tenor of the times. Against High-Caste Polygamy is not a treatise on polygamy in general. Rather, it addresses a subset of polygamous marriage as practiced among the highest Hindu castes in eastern India, or what then constituted the Bengal Presidency of British India. This particular form of polygamy came to be known in English as Kulinism, from the term for a person who holds high clan rank (known in Bengali as a kulina). As Vidyasagar shows, Kulinism rests on a highly articulated and historically entrenched system of status and rank that trapped women in wretched domestic situations. Against High-Caste Polygamy is Vidysagar's attempt to open the eyes of Bengali readers as well as the government to the extent and dire ramifications of polygamous practices that often left women ostracized, neglected, and abused. Brian A. Hatcher's translation makes Vidyasagar's polemic available to English-language readers for the first time. It features a scholarly introduction, extensive notes, and a variety of supplementary critical tools. Learn more about your ad choices. Johnny: PK directorial debut, couldn't even finish it, but as usual Ramana Gogula did his job, when I was a kid Naaraku Naraazu Annayya was a rage. Ee Reyi Theeyanadi is also a classic.  Bangaram: Directed by Tamil fame Dharani and I like Tamil directors but they always stamp their paithyam all over Telugu films. An underage girl gets married or some shit, and then villain only says one thing aa mate Nuvvu yenduku seputhunnav, aa mate Nuvvu seppakoodadu, then in interval he screams and and the earth shatters, gets on a buffalo and rides it and interval card. Superstar composer Vidyasagar much like Mani Sharma was for Mahesh Babu, made Vijay's musical career, the only person who did his job properly. Jai Shambho and Egire Chilakamma are still bangers.   Puli: SJ Suryah paithyam, hero intro is so trolly worthy, Manoj Bajpai is always shouting for no reason and looks like a joker with white mustache and goatee, one love BGM entire movie, so badly written and directed, karthavayaniki meere devudulu, shouting for no reason, and then they're in Hyd one scene and then next scene Malaysia. No sync at all. Climax is highlight when Pawan kalayn is getting zapped and screams amma. His mom screams and then PK tears becoming an earthquake and too fan at the same time. Huge wind blows and everybody goes flying.  Sardaar Gabbar Singh: Pk fans said maa Anna nadichosthe chaalu, well he walked and delivered an utter flop. Literally does everything and sways on wooden horses in middle of the street, dances for no reason with his red scarf, and the comedy with Brahmi is so bad. DSP is the only person who did his job: Tauba Taub, Nee Cheppkallu, and O Pilla Subhanallah are good. Otherwise another mark rod with story and screenplay by PK. Sangeet scene is an insult to Antyakshari scene from the first movie. Also Sampath Nandi was the director at first and was attached for 2 years until he got replaced by Bobby. Rest is history.   Katamarayudu: Already dubbed Veeram into telugu as Veeruduokkade and it didn't run, PK made the same movie again wit Shruthi Hassan and Siva Balaji, AJay, Kamal Kamaraju, and Venu Madhav said he was giving a comeback with the movie but I guess they deleted his scenes. First scene he stomps and a jeep goes flying into the air, cringe comedy, PK look is so bad, and comedy is awful. Just a very outdated movie,  Agnythaavasi: Really don't want to slander Trivikram, but it had the potential for e great film with the storyline but Trivikram did everything but that. Said we will see nata viswaroopam. It backfired so badly, Heroines were worst and the tactics Pawan Kalyan uses to romance both of them are so bad. Hard to believe the movie turned out that bad. That too a 25th movie. Nice production values were the only good thing. A good album went to waste and theyre so bad on screen. No comedy, no story, basically no entertainment. I was supposed to watch it but thankfully escaped.  Vakeel Saab: I'm not woke at all and I was hyped to see PK back after 3 years gap. But the movie was so badly directed by Venu Sriram. Not a single scene had any proper impact or anything. All I liked was PK, the fights and the BGM specifically the train one but the court scenes seemed like a parody to me and it was more like a fish market more than anything. Got a headache.  DJ:Allu Arjun stated its harder to make DJ than it is to make titanic because telugu cinema makes multi genre films. Silly plot, Subbaraju worst comedy, and zero logic, Oh bhasya he says it everytime and comedy is somewhat funny but movie makes no sense. Allu Arjun fans claim he did a better job than NTR in Adhurs. NTR in Adhurs is an iconic performance. Allu Arjun is a great actor but he didn't suit this role at all. Felt forced and not natural like NTR. Pooja Hegde and songs were the only good part.  Naa Peru Surya - hero has problems, then he goes to his dad for therapy, he's still angry, has sex with GF, he's still mad, Why is Boman Irani even in the movie?

When one faces an adverse situation, one should respond rather than react. How does one respond? We should keep our goal above our ego. One should be able to subordinate ones likes and dislikes for the higher purpose of life. When one develops such forbearance and humility like Ishwar Chandra by keeping personal feelings on hold  then one shall be able to achieve ones  goal and succeed in life.

Abstract: The mechanism or microcircuitry behind orientation selectivity in primary visual cortex (V1), and the means by which it develops without supervision or visual input, both remain unresolved questions. Work on the developmental question has assumed the prevalent spatial convergence model of orientation selectivity as the target mechanism. Encouraged by growing evidence challenging both the completeness of this model and its developmental viability, we investigated an alternative scheme. Accordingly, we demonstrate computationally how a scheme in which orientation selectivity originates from the orientation biases already in the retina and lateral geniculate nucelus (LGN) can answer both the mechanistic and developmental questions. In this scheme, the divergence of outputs from the retina allows retinal spontaneous activity to create correlations within the LGN. These correlations in turn allow a Hebbian plasticity mechanism to strengthen those LGN inputs to V1 which carry similar orientation biases and thus provide an orientation tuned excitatory input. Despite being born into an Ayurvedic culture, Dr Anup Mulakaluri, ND, didn't seek out Ayurvedic training until his mom gained medical benefit this ancient science. As soon as he started his training, he knew he was at home and brings the cozy comfort of Ayurveda to each patient he sees and the teaching he does, like in our show today. He starts out describing Ayurveda as 'a system of healing, a way of life, a spiritual practice and as a functional medicine'. He then dives into how we can understand ourselves through our doshic makeup, meaning the three components of our constitution termed vata, pitta, and kapha. With his clear definitions and descriptions of how to stay balanced, lovingly shares what to do when it's hard to wake up in the morning, for example. We then shift to the Ayurvedic perspective of neurology. He describes the nervous system is the action arm of consciousness, where choices are made. He discusses the innate connection between the nervous system and the gut as they can be connected through vata dosha and 'vatagati', meaning 'vata goes there'. Dr Mulakaluri unfolds the beauty of Ayurveda to meet the patient exactly with what they need. Typically with neurological disease, primary treatments are to apply soothing oil topically with massage but also internally with ghee, oils, and fatty animal tissue like cold-water fish in the diet. He explains how the lipophilic nature of oil allows it to penetrate through membranes to address neurological tissues. From here, Dr Mulakaluri reviews a few cases with treatments given for a patient with Parkinson's Disease, a patient with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (MS). In brief, he also reviews the incredible and unique process that is Ayurvedic panchakarma for detoxification, cleansing, restoration and rejuvenation. Panchakarma is the tool for hitting the reset button. He bravely answers our question about 'why does Ayurveda work for neurological conditions'. This was such a relaxing show to record and we are thrilled to offer you this look into Ayurveda today. YouTube has been the bedrock of the creator economy in India. A new report by Oxford Economics, an independent consulting firm, says YouTube India has contributed ₹6,800 crore to India's GDP in 2020. YouTube is supporting over 68 crore full-time equivalent jobs in India, and as a testament to that, the number of channels earning at least ₹1 lakh in revenue has increased by 60 per cent, as of June 2021. Ajay Vidyasagar, Regional Director of YouTube Asia Pacific at Google, believes the creator economy in this country has the potential to emerge as a soft-power impacting economic growth, job creation, and even cultural influence. In this conversation, he talks about YouTube democratising storytelling, opening up innovation which is no longer the bastion of urban India, why YouTube is better at paying creators, and how it transformed to become the biggest edtech in the country. Part of the International conference on Maharashtra in September 2021 - Deepra Dandekar, Leibnitz Zentrum Moderner Orient, Berlin, Germany Baba Padmanji (1831-1906) was a firebrand Christian reformer of nineteenth century Bombay Presidency, who wrote the first ever Marathi novel in 1857, describing a woman's, Yamuna's travels across various towns in Maharashtra, and through her journey, towards marriage and religious conversion. While 1856 witnessed the passing of the Widows Remarriage Act, Padmanji's Yamunaparyatan in 1857, functioned as a socio-legal treatise in its support, written in a fictional format that he insisted, was grounded in research. Padmanji supported Vidyasagar, and expressed his own emotive ideas about women's reform through the metaphor of Yamuna's journey. Yamuna, a young girl, travels all over Maharashtra with her husband Vinayak, and meets many unhappy widows. She understands their plight, and witnesses myriad immoralities surrounding their sexual exploitation, while advocating relentlessly for their remarriage. Yamuna confronts the urgent need for feminist reform in Bombay Presidency that would liberate women from both Hinduism and the hypocrisy of Hindu reformers—something she imbibes after her own widowhood. Her metaphoric travels hardly end with widowhood, as she goes on to remarry and ultimately convert to Christianity. Padmanji relates Yamuna's journey, both internal and external, as a story of feminine moral agency, endorsing the true reformer's need to travel, listen, argue, research, present, and debate ideas, with the larger aim of facilitating self-transformation and social change towards the discovery of true religion. This presentation discusses the layered, non-tangible circulation of Christian reform ideas expressed in Yamunaparyatan, that includes Padmanji's own journey towards conversion and divorce that propelled him to write; Yamuna's journey and encounter with widows and reformers alike; her marital journey with Vinayak, Hinduism, and Hindu families that ends disastrously; and finally, her remarriage and conversion to Christianity that metaphorically heralds the journey's destination.

Ishwar Chandra Bandyopadhyay was born on 26th  September 1820  to Thakurdas Bandyopadhyay and Bhagavati Devi in Birsingha, West Bengal. As a child, Ishwar Chandra was a kind, intelligent and naughty child. He started studying under his teacher Kantilal, and finished his complete schooling by 9 years of age. After this, he was sent to Kolkata to study Sanskrit. He stayed at a relative's house whose young daughter was very motherly and affectionate towards him, but she was a widow. This left a huge impression on him.  In 1841, at the age of twenty-one years, Ishwar Chandra started working at Fort William College and then Sanskrit College in Kolkata.  Alongside he started working on social reforms like Widow Remarriage, Abolition of polygamy. He also worked on translations of Sanskrit in Bengali texts. This made his contribution to Bengali Prose remarkable.  He also built a lot of schools and got educational reforms for every stratum of society, so that education could be easily available for everyone. Ishwar Chandra got his surname Vidyasagar due to his enormous education and keeping the prestige of his name, he worked endlessly as an educationist till late in his life.  www.chimesradio.com   http://onelink.to/8uzr4g   https://www.facebook.com/chimesradio/   https://www.instagram.com/vrchimesradio/   Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/chimesradio See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

For more than 40 years in the early 20th century, Martin Couney ran a sideshow in which premature babies were displayed in incubators. With this odd practice he offered a valuable service in an era when many hospitals couldn't. In this week's episode of the Futility Closet podcast we'll describe Couney's unusual enterprise, which earned both criticism and praise. We'll also marvel over an Amazonian survival and puzzle over a pleasing refusal. Intro: The inventor of the Dewey Decimal System suggested that GHEAUGHTEIGHPTOUGH might spell potato. * In a first, the Election Commission invoked article 324 and announced that campaigning for the last 9 seats in West Bengal will end on 16 May, 10 pm, a day before the scheduled deadline. The state is set to go to polls on 19 May, the seventh and last phase of elections. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee called the decision “unethical” and accused the EC of working for Modi. She said the timing of the ban allows PM Modi to deliver his two scheduled election rallies in Bengal on 16 May. * The decision came after the entire fiasco at Amit Shah’s rally resulting in violence and vandalism of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s statue. Playing the blame-game over the broken statue, Didi called out the BJP goons while Modi blamed the TMC workers, stating that BJP will rebuild Vidyasagar statue. * In yet another controversial remark, BJP candidate Pragya Singh Thakur called Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse, a “patriot” and said those calling him a “terrorist” will be given a befitting reply when the election results are announced. What role do texts play in language transactions and for context? How is pursuit of chess different from the pursuit of science? Can chess games be said to progress like sentences? Are humans language-using-machines? Is thinking of ‘only’ adjacencies as neighbours limited in most contexts? Are meanings neighbours? Are both humans (also randomly) and machines always changing the idea of neighbours? &, how did Hamilton Bridge become Barber’s Bridge?
