Pride Cup involves so much more than just playing football in rainbows. In the lead up to events participating teams are involved in education sessions and learn about how we can be more inclusive to the whole LGBTIQ+ community. Barwon Leagues Senior Womens Football Pride Cup in 2021 will feature two games at the Anthony Costa Oval in South Geelong on Sunday 27/06/21 1pm Division 2 - St Mary's (2) Vs. Drysdale and 3pm Division 1 - St Mary's (1) Vs. Grovedale.  Molly (she/her) and Grace (she/her) from Division 1 St Mary's discuss the 2019 event and what they are hoping to see at future events. Although this years event is scaled back we are glad to be back playing footy together. This will be St Mary' Division 2, Grovedale (Division 1) and Drysdale's (Division 2) first year involved in the Barwon Pride Cup. Steph (she/her) and Georgie (she/her) from Division 2 Drysdale Hawk's discuss visibility and acceptance over the years and how far we still have to go. All of us were able to speak about how football helped us find our community and was a valuable part of feeling accepted which still in 2021 doesn't necessarily translate to the rest of our lives.   If you have any questions, feedback or would like to be involved send us a message on facebook, instagram or email us pride@ocrfm.org.au For more information regarding this years event please visit: https://fb.me/e/1TVaPnGma To find out more information regarding Pride Cup and other Pride Cup games please visit: https://pridecup.org.au/ To find out more information regarding AFL Barwon please visit:  https://www.facebook.com/aflbarwon/

Today's guest Jane Evans has had a stunning career in advertising. She gave Cate Blanchett her first job, created Australia's first craft beer and ran her own multi-million dollar agency with clients like Revlon and Maserati. Today, Jane is the founder of Uninvisibility, a global media initiative dedicated to "unleashing the power of midlife women". The Uninvisibility mantra? "Midlife women still have half a life to live with zero f**ks left to give. We are no longer prepared to operate in a world where only female youth and beauty is celebrated.  We’re here to show you what we’re made of." In this energetic and motivating conversation, Jane and host Trevor Young cover a lot of ground, including: Jane's personal story of discovering a need for a platform that helps midlife women step into the spotlight. The journey to a project launch that resulted in two million hashtag views in the first two weeks How the movement provided the foundation for a new communications agency for female creators as well as a training course for midlife women in media and advertisingHow providing a solution can be far more powerful than engaging in 'cancel culture'Finding your early adopters and giving them a great story to tellA movement-building social media strategyThe deep-diving and storytelling required to change the narrative about a cause or issueJane's new book - Invisible to Invaluable: Unleashing the Power of Midlife Women If there is an issue or cause you care about and you want to create a movement for change, this episode will inspire you into action! However, this isn't an episode about how to 'niche down' but rather giving you some strategies as to why you should NOT be wasting your time racking your brain to find your niche, especially in the beginning stages of growing your business. You've heard it before that 'niching down' is so important and getting SO specific about the exact type of person you want to work with, and while the idea is great and WILL be important, it should never be the end-all and be-all of your business building because if you are new to your business, your niche WILL CHANGE (and should change as you grow and become inspired!) Sitting down to find your niche could feel endless, and I want to share with you 7 strategies on what you should be doing instead and how you should be spending your time more productively to ALLOW YOU the space and time to develop who you want to work with. I would LOVE you all to share one takeaway from this episode, so please tag me or DM me @1fitfoodiepod on Instagram, or email me Naomi@naomirotstein.com. How do we overcome the inner blocks we might feel around expressing our truth, setting boundaries, cultivating intimate relationships, and speaking up about the issues that matter most to us? How do we learn to trust ourselves and stand proudly in our feminine voice, like the spiritual leaders of pre-patriarchal societies?Sahar Paz is originally from Iran and came to the United States as a refugee of war when she was a child. She realized the immense privilege of having a voice and has made it her mission to unleash her voice and uplift the voices of others. Lesley Pyne-  Lesley Pyne: I believe that it is possible to have a fulfilling life as a childless woman. In my book ‘Finding Joy Beyond Childlessness: Inspiring Stories To Guide You To A Fulfilling Life’ I use my own life experience as a childless woman, those of 19 others, and my skills as a coach and NLP Master Practitioner to guide readers gently through the pain they’re feeling and out the other side to finding their joy again. I spent the first 50plus years of my life putting everything I didn’t want to feel in a box, including her grief following multiple failed fertility treatments and the loss of both parents. In the process of writing this book I dug deeply into the subjects she writes about including, grief, letting go, connecting you your body, self- acceptance and writing. I write writes openly about my challenges and how I have emerged as a different person, able to say confidently ‘I absolutely love my life, the adventures I’m having and I’m excited about what will happen next.’ Website: lesleypyne.co.uk Listen to another #12minconvo

"'Finding yourself' is not really how it works. You aren't a ten-dollar bill in last winter's coat pocket. You are also not lost. Your true self is right there. Buried under cultural conditioning, other people's opinions, and inaccurate conclusions you drew as a kid that became your beliefs about who you are. 'Finding yourself' is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, an excavation, a remembering who you were before the world got its hands on you." --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Brad Mehldau, simply put, is one of the most respected living jazz players on the planet. He’s also one of the most prolific. Think Stephen King levels of prolific, but for music. Many of you may know him from his work covering some Radiohead tunes, but rest assured he is much MUCH more than that. In fact, on his new album Finding Gabriel, he is doing nothing less than searching for the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. Suffice to say the album is HEAVY, but it’s also one of the most exhilarating listens of the year in any genre. We’re part of the Osiris podcast network. Founding Father Benjamin Franklin was a man of many interests, but his endeavors were by no means limited to technical innovation, philosophy and politics. In fact, throughout his life he had a reputation as an irredeemable lech -- literally, in later years, a dirty old man -- and his exploits were common knowledge on both sides of the Atlantic. He himself did not shy away from these accusations, and records show he even advised his younger friends on affairs, marriage, sex and romance. But was his famous 1745 letter "Advice to a Young Man on the Choice of a Mistress" meant as sincere advice, or satire? Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers
