The Burning Crusade. Imagen del videojuego 'The Last of Us Parte II'. Imagen del videojuego ‘The Last of Us Parte II’. No compensaba”. A film that has always caused discussion among movie and Alien fans everywhere, this movie has much more under the covers if one takes a closer look. To help, we've enlisted friend of the show, Brev Tanner (GM Brev for you d20 Radio fans) to break it down with us. (It's a long show for sure, but don't forget there are timestamps and chapter headings to jump around if you like.) This show is so packed, before we talk Alien 3, we discuss things we've watched lately, Donald's progress on his 'The Last of Us' playthrough, and we each pick our Top 5 Bad Ass Movie Heroines (not named Ellen Ripley)! Then we head back into the world Ridley Scott created and discuss David Fincher's first feature film, Alien 3! There is a LOT to talk about in this movie as it is exactly what our show is about... find films that normally get a bad rap, but examine the film and see if it's deserved. This week on a jam-packed episode Rossko, Sean and Greg delve into the bevy of the weeks news including celebrating the iconic PlayStation 2's 20th Birthday. We reminisce our favourite memories of the console and the lasting legacy it still has to this day as the highest-selling console of all time. We also delve into every single BAFTA Games Awards nomination and what we'd like to win from each category (A Plague Tale with only one nomination? Give me a break, BAFTA...). We also talk our hopes and dreams and concerns about the recently announced 'The Last of Us' TV series from HBO and who we would cast as Joel and Ellie, with absolutely no sign of Hugh Jackman anywhere near it, thank goodness. Also Ghost of Tsushima finally got itself a release date. Are we actually excited for it though in the midst of the major releases to come this year? We discuss. Also, Sean has set perhaps the most fiendish, downright evil and disgracefully unfair Trivia Challenge the podcast has ever seen. Probably. It was designed to expose our frailties, which is just mean, tbh. We also talk hands-on with The Hunt: Showdown, Overpass, Wunderling on Switch, Two Point Hospital, Holfraine, The Division 2's brand new expansion Warlords of New York and a video game called Final Fantasy VII Remake? You've probably heard of it, well we talk about playing it and if we can contain our excitement for April 10th. Note: We can't. Give it to us right now. Finally Sean's Indie Corner delves into Dangerous Driving 2, Skate Story (http://www.twitter.com/skatestorygame), Ghost Runner (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2zgVn_ECkU) and Sai (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCAMvdv02Gs). This week on the 'MashReads Podcast,' we are joined by author Jeff Zentner to discuss his latest novel 'Goodbye Days.' And, as always, we close the show with recommendations: Jeff recommends 'The Last of August' by Brittany Cavallaro. The book is the second book in the 'Charlotte Holmes' series. "Both books are the most utterly brilliant blend of commercial and literary writing." He also recommends 'History Is All You Left Me' by Adam Silvera (which we talked about here on the MashReads Podcast with Silvera himself). And finally, Jeff has been reading books by Khaled Hosseini. "He is what I want to be. His books are so poignant and so resonant and so beautifully written." Aliza recommends the 'Percy Jackson & The Olympians' series after seeing the new off-broadway show 'The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.' "They're fun and they're funny. Even though when you are reading them, it's very clear they are written for 12-year-olds, there are some deep dark stuff barely under the surface." Peter recommends HBO's show 'Big Little Lies.' "This is one of the rare things where I would almost have watched this than read the book because it is such a visual story, or at least how they tell it on HBO. It is so dramatically withholding in visual form." MJ recommends 'South and West' by Joan Didion. "[Joan Didion] is just such an astute observer of life."
