What do you do if you're stuck in a rut—a snowy rut? ADVrider editor Zac Kurylyk left the snowbanks of the Northeast behind for the sunshine of the Southwest, hitting the AIMExpo moto industry show, the record-setting Mecum Las Vegas auction and even The One Moto Show's first road trip appearance in Sin City, meeting a few former Lowdown Show guests along the way. He's back to tell us all about it, and the bikes he rode on the trip.
It's that time of year where we head to Vegas for the AimExpo. This is an industry expo where you can see new bikes, parts, products, manufacturers, organizations and anything else you can think of that is involved in the motorcycle industry. Its a place to network, see old friends, and talk to industry experts all under one roof. We love it especially because of the access to people who can answer all of our questions, and we have a lot of them. Liza talks to Ollie from Oset bikes, an electric trials bike company that makes bikes for every age and size. Emma and Liza talk to John at KTM, and find out what we truly can expect in the future for them, and put to rest the rumors of their demise. Liza talks to Jason at Cometic Gaskets, and finds out what the latest technology in gaskets is and how it works. Phil and Liza talk to Chris at Moto Morini about their latest offerings of bikes, which truly reflect their Italian heritage and design. This is definitely a brand you should be checking out. Jim and Scottie talk to Matt at Cruz Tools, and learn more about these tool sets that are not just brand, but model specific. Scottie and Junky talk to Ted at Blaster, who makes products you know like PB Blaster, Metal Rescue and Gunk. They've developed a complete line of products for motor sports, as well as a new spray bottle cap that's exactly what we needed. Emma talks to Jose at MV Agusta about their future after being sold by KTM, as well as their line of bikes that may well be the sexiest motorcycles you can buy. Craig talks to Clinton at Battery Tender about how important battery maintenance is, as well as the wide array of chargers they sell and the advantages each one has. And lastly we record at the One Show, give a recap of the event, and talk about each of our favorite bikes there. This week on our motorcycle podcast we have freshly returned from the AimExpo in Las Vegas, where we made new friends and had a great time. We share some of our highlights and stories, including a conversation with the DID guys as to which is the better master link. Rivet or clip style? Then Liza shows off her new fake Klim gloves from Ali express, and we compare them to the real version that she also has. Listen to find out what we think of them. Next up we find out how to empty the capacitors on a Vespa, and how and why you would ever want to do it in the first place. Vlogger Rosie Gabrielle joins us via Zoom to share her stories of moto travelling alone through multiple continents and countries. To do this, you either have to be extremely capable and self confident, or you just need to trust that the people you meet along the way will help you when you need, and keep you going on your journey. She has a lifetime of dealing with chronic pain and depression, and found that through her moto travels she was able to heal the unhealable. It's truly amazing what she has accomplished and overcome, and how much of it she shares in her vlogs. She also tells us about falling in love twice on her latest journey, to a man and a country. Episode 215: Joining us live tonight is Austin Rothbard of Twisted Road, a pretty badass service in the sharing industry that connects motorcycle owners with potential motorcycle renters. I could have just said AirBNB for motorcycles but I didn't. Until I did. As an example. You know what? Fuck you, that's what. Twisted Road seems like a pretty cool way to make a few bucks here and there with your motorcycles. We talked to Austin first during AIMExpo. Back then, he only had to deal with Chuck. Tonight, Austin will be answering to Todd and his weighty concerns about letting someone else even *touch* his precious motorcycles. This is part 2 of our interviews from the AIMExpo 2018. So many people to talk to, so many bikes to see, so many connections made. Really great event. We start off by talking about Liza and her crazy luck gambling, then we head over to the Skully booth, where we hear Terry giving his spiel to Naked Jim, and we get to try out these helmets and see what they really can do. Then we talk to Mike and Kim from Vanson Leathers. They've been making race suits and gear for decades, and continue to make quality products right here in the USA. Next up we hear from Nak, who has a chance to check out Honda's new Super Cub. Is it as cool in person as we are hoping it to be? Listen and find out. Then we talk to the guys at Sea Foam, and ask the question "What exactly does this product do?" The answer is, more than you thought. We also talked to the guys at the EBC Brakes booth, to find out what the difference is between the different types and pads, and which is the right one for your bike. We also find out about Danny, who is their real life Keebler Elf. We run into listener Joe Rubino, and find out what have been some of his highlights from the show so far. Then we talk to Avery at the Suzuki display. He gives us the scoop on the upgrades to bikes like the SV650 and the Vstrom. Pretty cool stuff happening there. Lastly we finish up with our experience at one of the best supercross races we've ever seen. Never look back, is all I'm going to say about this. With Liza, Nak and Naked Jim. Welcome to the first episode in our AIMExpo double dumper. There was so much to see and do there, so many bikes to ride and so many people to interview, that we couldn't fit it in to one episode. First up we hear from Nak and Naked Jim, who spent the day test riding bikes. There were some surprises, and some expectations met. Listen and find out which was their favorite bike. . Next we head over to the Sena booth to talk to Kasey, and find out what's new with this leader in helmet communication systems. Then we catch up with former guest Cat McLeod of Leod Adventures. He's broken some bones, and created even more bucket list moto trips, and he tells us all about it. We run into listeners Dan and Amy, who answer the question of questions for us, and then Nak takes a tour of Honda's new CR450L. Welcome to a conversation we don't have enough in this sport. The annual American International Motorcycle Expo (or AIMExpo) is coming to Las Vegas this weekend, alongside the Monster Energy Cup, our own Friday night live podcast show, and plenty of other hijinks. The AIMExpo is primarily a trade show for motorcycle dealerships, but it's operated by the Motorcycle Industry Council, so it also serves as the industry's annual health checkup, with real talk about how to gain new riders and regrow the industry. These are conversations we should have more often, and they take place at AIMExpo. In this week's Racer X Exhaust Podcast, Jason Weigandt dials up Larry Little, who runs the Expo as the MIC's vice president & general manager of events. The conversation is about all things motorcycling, including tackling today's challenges as well as successful strategies that have worked in the past. The Racer X Exhaust Podcast is brought to you by Yoshimura.

Hello boys and girls, Welcome to episode 110 where we get an education this week. Thank you for tuning in and listing to this show and of course for all of the motorcycle men Episodes. If you would like to help the show out, you can go to our website at Motorcyclemen.us and there you can click on the donate or subscribe buttons if you’d like to help us out. Another way you can help us out… feedback. Go over to iTunes and give us a rating, good, bad or indifferent… we accept all feedback. While you’re at it, send us an email to motomenpc@gmail.com or go to our contact page on the website and send us a note there. I read all of our email and we will comment on it during our next show. As you know, we here at the Motorcycle Men Podcast are Harley Cruiser guys. That is our thing. Now we also know that there are other types of bikes out there and we do comment and mention them frequently on our shows. However, one faction of the motorcycle world we don’t often speak of because we don’t understand it and to a lesser extent, do not appeal to us cruiser riders. Yes, I am talking about Electric motorcycles. Well, here to enlighten us… Mr. Richard Hatfield of Lightning motorcycles. For those of you out at AIMExpo this week, just know that we would have loved to be there but sometimes, most times, finances dictate actions and it is those times when we cannot do the things we love to or want to do. Perhaps another time we will meet you all. Have fun, be safe and ride a Harley for us. Join us next week when my brothers and co-hosts will join me in the V-Twin café for some brotherly banter and long distance fun. From Tim buktu, Chris the Joker and me, Ted, Wrongway, your host, and thanks for listening to the motorcycle Men podcast where we stay stupid crap so you don’t have to. Ride safer kids. Thanks for listening to this weeks episode. We hope your weather is allowing you to get out and rack up the miles. Kevin and Larry discuss what kind of saddle time they are able to amass during the week. Throttled Ride Along: If you are interested in having a Throttled Ride where you can come and ride with Kevin at Barber write in and let us know. How many miles would you want to do or how long(hours) would you like to ride. What day of the event Fri, Sat or Sunday works best? What time of day, Morning or after lunch? What starting point works best? Barber, 280 and 459, Pelham or Hoover News: Yamaha delays the Venture. Kawasaki announces the 2018 Ninja H2R models. Confederate Motorcycles changes name and goes all electric. Royal Enfield opens a third factory. Throttled Garage:Should you use the kill switch to turn off the engine? Recalls:BMW recall. Paddock:Flat track: Springfield mile on Sunday, don’t know if I’ll catch it before the show. In yet another example of what appears to me to be marketing ineptitude, the times for viewing the race were virtually unobtainable, and every time I tuned into live streaming on when one of the warmup, qualifying, or actual races should have been running I got … nothing. Even now, with the race over and the results in, I cannot find a description of the race. So I will give you what I have, just the results. Once again, Mees wins, indian sweeps with smith in second and baker in 3rd, Halbert on the yamaha in 4th and the Harley guy, robinson on the new xg750 in 5.
