*Accadde il 29 marzo* Il 29 marzo 1946 è una data storica per l'Italia e il mondo intero, poiché Piaggio ha presentato la prima Vespa, un simbolo di stile e innovazione che ha rivoluzionato la mobilità urbana. Inizialmente pensata per rispondere alle esigenze di trasporto post-belliche, la Vespa è diventata un'icona culturale e un emblema dell'Italia nel mondo. Parlare di questo evento mi fornisce l'occasione perfetta per esplorare anche alcuni aspetti linguistici legati a questa pietra miliare della storia italiana. Quando parliamo di una VESPA non parliamo dell'insetto dall'aspetto simile all'ape (tra l'altro la stessa Piaggio ha lanciato anche l'ape, ma ne parleremo un'altra volta) ma parliamo di un motociclo. Un motorino, si dice oggi informalmente, nel senso che le moto di piccola cilindrata si chiamano normalmente così: motorini. Tra l'altro esiste anche il cosiddetto "vespone", che ha una cilindrata più grande,pari a 125 cc, e non 50 cc come la

ProMat 2025 continues this week, bringing tens of thousands and supply chain and material handling professionals to Chicago to see what's new and innovative. Several major themes were apparent in talking to exhibitors and show attendees: Labor reduction. Most distribution center operators say they're struggling to find enough people to do the daily work, and finding seasonal help when they want twice as many people. Exhibitors presented dozens of technologies that minimize training, simplify work or automate functions. Going up. Vertical systems are everywhere at the show. New facilities are building higher and higher roofs to be able to stack material vertically and minimize real estate costs. OEM-backed startups. IndustryWeek's Dennis Scimeca has been writing about this trend for a few years—major companies starting in-house incubators or venture capital operations to capture new ideas and product innovations. At ProMat, I talked to companies backed by Toyota, Nokia, Piaggio and several others.  Cool technology. Well, not exactly a trend, but something I definitely noticed. Whether it was robots that charge themselves while moving through a facility, AI-driven picking systems that automatically re-sorted misplaced goods or drones running inspection, there were just a bunch of cool, nifty ideas on display.

It started with a dream and a little Piaggio three-wheeled scooter with a pizza oven in the back, but Mario Gaito has built a business that delivers delicious Napoli-style pizza to selected deli and supermarket chillers around Cape Town. It's a great story that features one of my favourite things - wood-fired pizza ovens. We could have gone on and on chatting - this was one of my favourite episodes so far. However we were recording in a very loud place and had to call it a day eventually. Kökleri 1884'e kadar uzanan, İtalyan havacılık sektörünün öncü markası. Dünya havacılığının gelişmesinde önemli bir aktör olan Piaggio, Türkiye'nin milli SİHA'larının üreticisi ve artık dünya SİHA ihracat pazarının hakimi konumunda olan Baykar'a satıldı. Bu videoda Piaggio'nun tarihi sürecine ve Baykar'a satışına daha yakından bakacağız. 1884 yılında Cenova yakınlarında Rinaldo Piaggio tarafından kurulan Piaggio, ilk yıllarında gemi donanımları, trenler, demiryolu ekipmanları ve motor üretimine odaklandı. Birinci Dünya Savaşı'nın yaşandığı 1910'lu yıllarda havacılık sektörüne giriş yaptı. 1917 yılında uçak üretim faaliyetlerine başlayan şirket, 1922 yılında ilk modeli olan Piaggio P.1'i üretti. 1957 yılına kadar P serisi birçok model deneyen şirket, eğitim uçaklarından, ağır bombardıman uçaklarına, avcı uçaklarından ticari taşımacılık uçaklarına kadar geniş yelpazede prototipler ve üretimler yaptı. Tarihinin ilk dönemlerinden itibaren motor üretimine önem veren Piaggio bu alanda dikkat çekici çalışmalara imza attı. 1930'lu ve 1940'lı yıllarda pistonlu motor üretimlerine yoğunlaşan Piaggio'nun motor üretimi radial motorlar etrafında şekillendi. Piaggio, kendi tasarımlarının yanı sıra diğer motor üreticilerinden lisans alarak da pistonlu motorlar üretti. Bu motorlar hem sivil hem de askeri uçaklarda kullanıldı.

Ha un design unico al mondo la protesi di piede messa a punto dai ricercatori dell’IIT di Genova, in collaborazione con il Centro E. Piaggio e l’Università di Pisa. Parliamo di un capolavoro di meccanica, in grado di riprodurre con straordinaria accuratezza i movimenti naturali del piede senza alcun meccanismo attivo. Nessun motore per questo piede flessibile, del tutto indifferente all’acqua e del peso di soli 450 grammi, chiamato SoftFoot Pro. La protesi è stata testata da numerosi pazienti a Genova, ad Hannover e a Vienna, grazie alla collaborazione con vari istituti di ricerca medica. A raccontarlo, Manuel Giuseppe Catalano, ricercatore dell’IIT del laboratorio di soft.bots.

¡Que grandes motos fabricaba España en los años 60 y 70! ¡Qué pena que desapareciesen! He oído esto muchas veces. ¿Os habéis preguntado por qué desaparecieron Sanglas en 1982, Bultaco en 1983, Ossa en 1985 y Montesa, a partir de 1983 solo fabrica minoritarias motos de Trial? Os lo voy a decir de forma clara y directa, aunque a algunos les duela y aunque resulte polémico: No eran buenas motos. Y no me olvido de otras. Algunas no tan españolas, como Ducati Mototrans o Puch Avelló que cerraron en 1984 o la españolísima Derbi que pasó a ser cien por cien de la italiana Piaggio en 2001. España, tras la catastrófica Guerra Civil, se convirtió en una autarquía que la RAE define como “un estado que intenta bastarse con sus propios recursos”. De España salían pocos productos para la exportación y prácticamente ninguno para la importación… en grandes cantidades, ninguno. Todas las marcas de las que hemos hablado surgieron en la dictadura y tuvieron su apogeo durante la misma. El estado español protegía a la industria nacional de la europea, americana y sobre todo, en el caso de las motos, de la japonesa… los grandes “players” de la época. Motos y coches de importación entraban con cuenta gotas y con grandes impuestos que duplicaban su precio, lo que hacía que solo unos cuantos ricos pudieran comprarlos… porque los demás cobraban un sueldo entre 3 y 4 veces inferior al resto de los europeos más adelantados. Las marcas españolas surgieron gracias a diversos emprendedores y aventureros, no nos engañemos, en general con más valentía que conocimientos. Y en muchos casos copiando, directamente, motos extranjeras, pero con materiales y tecnologías “Made in Spain” en esos años muy por detrás. Hasta que la economía comenzó, llegó el Seat 600, remontar y los españoles de a pie ya no soñaban con una moto grande, sino con un coche pequeño. Justo es reconocer que las marcas españolas estuvieron rápidas y dejaron de hacer motos pensando en la practicidad y en el asfalto, para pasarse el ocio y al off road… España estaba peor que ahora, pero en cambio sí ibas por los caminos no era un delincuente, como ahora soy yo, por ejemplo. Únicamente Ducati Mototrans y Sanglas hacían motos 4T de carretera, Ducati sus 250 y 350 Road y Scrambler y Sanglas la 400 T. Pero Sanglas aprovechó su absoluta “españolidad” para ser la proveedora del gobierno para la GC y otros usos, lo que fue una inyección económica para la marca. Las motos españolas competían entre sí, no nos engañemos, tenían su personalidad, pero más o menos eran lo mismo, con los mismos proveedores de frenos, embrague, llantas, escapes, ruedas y plásticos para todos… Pero esas motos no resistían la más mínima comparación con las motos hechas fuera, sobre todo en Japón. Todos veían que se acercaba un aperturismo económico, tontos no eran, y que sus motos, delicadas, frágiles e incomodas, no tendrían futuro… así que se lanzaron a buscar pareja, o sea, socio. Y así nacieron Derbi- Kawasaki, Montesa-Honda, Sanglas-Yamaha...etc. Pero aquellas marcas que se supone venían a salvar a las nuestras… acabaron devorándolas… ¿por qué? Porque lo cierto es que las marcas mayoritariamente japonesas no vieron nada aprovechable en las motos ni en la tecnología que tenían las marcas españolas. Solo Montesa salvo su gama Trail… pero no nos engañemos, el mercado mundial de las motos de trial es de unas 10.000 motos al año… en un mercado de 60 millones de motos… una cuota de mercado del 0,016 por cien… un grano de arena en el desierto. La industria japonesa arrolló a la española, pero también a la inglesa, a parte de la industria alemana, italiana y norteamericana. Pocas subsistieron y las que lo hicieron fue gracias a una fuerte imagen de marca, a un mercado propio muy fuerte…y no nos engañemos, a unas motos mejores que las nuestras. Porque comparar una BMW, una Ducati o una Harley de esos años, 70 u 80, con las motos españolas… mejor no lo hagas, te dan ganas de llorar. Las marcas españolas compradas básicamente por los “japos” mantuvieron en un inicio las fábricas en España, pero poco a poco han ido cerrando todas estas fábricas… solo se mantiene, como una verdadera heroína, la marca Rieju, la única marca española que fabrica motos en series relativamente importantes y que sigue siendo española y fabricando en España… se merecen un aplauso… y un video. Anécdota del día. En realidad, es una “Moto del día” cargada de anécdotas… mi primera moto de campo, una Montesa 250 H “nada” de las aparecidas en 1974. Cuando la compré ya tenía unos años, pero como en la Derbi, venia con curso de mecánica incluido… solo que intensivo. Podría decir que guardo un buen recuerdo de esa moto… pero mentiría. Más de 10 años después me compré una Husqvarna de motocross con unos cuantos años… y esa moto sí que me hizo enamorarme del off road en moto… luego llegaron las japonesas y luego una ristra importante de KTM´s… motos buenas de verdad.

¡Que grandes motos fabricaba España en los años 60 y 70! ¡Qué pena que desapareciesen! He oído esto muchas veces. ¿Os habéis preguntado por qué desaparecieron Sanglas en 1982, Bultaco en 1983, Ossa en 1985 y Montesa, a partir de 1983 solo fabrica minoritarias motos de Trial? Os lo voy a decir de forma clara y directa, aunque a algunos les duela y aunque resulte polémico: No eran buenas motos. Y no me olvido de otras. Algunas no tan españolas, como Ducati Mototrans o Puch Avelló que cerraron en 1984 o la españolísima Derbi que pasó a ser cien por cien de la italiana Piaggio en 2001. España, tras la catastrófica Guerra Civil, se convirtió en una autarquía que la RAE define como “un estado que intenta bastarse con sus propios recursos”. De España salían pocos productos para la exportación y prácticamente ninguno para la importación… en grandes cantidades, ninguno. Derbi es una marca muy querida en España y que se podría decir que tiene “dos historias”. Una es su trayectoria como fabricante de motos, sobre todo de ciclomotores, realmente míticos, como la Antorcha o la Variant. La otra, su trayectoria plagada de éxitos en el Mundial de Motociclismo, donde comenzó apostando por joven talento, un tal Ángel Nieto. En mi caso es una marca a la que tengo mucho cariño, entre otras cosas porque mi primera “moto-moto” fue una Derbi 2002 que, comparada con mi primer vehículo de dos ruedas, una Vespa 150, me parecía un tiro. Mi madre decía mucho aquello de “Dios los cría… y ellos se juntan”. Y eso es lo que paso con Derbi y con uno de mis pilotos más queridos a admirados, que conocí bien, estuve en su casa, compartí mesa y mantel… y aún le echamos de menos… siempre echaremos de menos a Ángel Nieto Roldán, a “Angelito”, sino el mejor uno de los mejores pilotos de todos los tiempos. Ángel Nieto estaba destacando en las carreras nacionales y Andreu Rabassa, patrón y fundador de Derbi, se fijó en él. Y como decía la frase, se juntaron. Y se fueron al Mundial de Motociclismo en 1967 consiguiendo su primer podio en 50 cm3. Solo dos años más tarde vencían en el Mundial. Nacen la “balas rojas”, una moto cien por cien “made in Spain” capaces de vencer a las hasta entonces intocables motos italianas y japonesas. Juntos consiguieron 5 títulos: 1969 de 50 cm3, 1970 otra vez de 50 cm3, 1971 el de 125 cm3 y por fin, en 1972, el doblete en 50 y 125 cm3… era una época en que los pilotos podían correr en varias categorías a la vez, no como ahora que son unos “blanditos” … es broma, sin duda, físicamente, las motos actuales son más exigentes. Y la preocupación por la seguridad, afortunadamente, mayor. Se separaron en 1973, pero en 1980 llegó de nuevo la gloria para Derbi y otros 5 títulos Mundiales, 4 de ellos conquistados por otro pilotazo, con el que también he compartido mesa y mantel, nada menos que Jorge Martínez “Aspar” que ganó en la cilindrada menor, que ya era 80 cm3 en 1986, 1987 y 1988, en 125 en el año 1988 sin olvidar el título de 80 cm3 conseguido por “Champi” Herreros en 1989. Hubo más títulos, en 2010 con el francés Mike di Meglio en 125 y el más reciente, con otro superpiloto, en 2010… ¿de que superpiloto hablamos? ¡De Marc Márquez! Aunque para entonces la marca ya no era española, la había adquirido el grupo Piaggio. Simeón y Josep Rabassa i Singla en 1922 tenían un taller de reparación de bicicletas, pero en 1944 se deciden crear una fábrica de bicicletas… Tiene gracia porque he tenido una moto Derbi y a finales de los 80 no una de las primeras, sino la primera Mountain Bike fabricada por Derbi… la cabra tira al monte. Me gustan estas historias en los que se empieza reparando bicis y se acaban ganando mundiales de moto. En 1949 deciden dar otro salto y fabricar motos, más bien “velomotores” como se llamaban entonces. Nace la Derbi SRS, cuyo nombre, SRS viene de Simeón Rabassa i Singla, su creador. ¿Y de dónde viene Derbi? He dicho que al final. Id pensando los que no lo sabéis, porque es bien fácil. Hicieron motos más “gordas! utilizando motores de otras marcas, como por ejemplo la Derbi 250 de motor Jawa presentada en el entonces Salón de muestras de Barcelona de 1950. Pero su vocación son las motos más pequeñas con marchas y los ciclomotores. El nacimiento de coches, como el Seat 600, asequibles para la época es un duro golpe para la industria de la moto… pero no para todos, porque los ciclomotores son los reyes de la ciudad y las motos pequeñas con marchas, las llamadas “motillos” las reinas del entorno rural… y Derbi combina ambos campos. Prometo hacer un vídeo más detallado de la historia de Derbi, pero como hemos hecho en la historia de otras marcas españolas, vamos a repasar la historia de Derbi a través de sus modelos más carismáticos. Derbi Antorcha. La Antorcha, de larga vida y múltiples versiones, es la “Motillo” dicho con todo el cariño, por excelencia. Off road. Cuando se habla de Derbi nadie piensa en el Off road, pero esta marca fabricó muchas y muy codiciadas motos de campo, como la Coyote de 1971. Derbi R.A.N. La Derbi llamada por todos “RAN” era la “Réplica Ángel Nieto” una moto absolutamente de carreras con la que podías ir del concesionario al circuito. Derbi 2002. Esta moto, aparecida en 1975, era casi una moto de Gran Premio. De hecho, la cilindrada tan rara de 200 cm3 era porque partía del bloque motor que se utilizaba en los GG.PP. Derbi Variant. Es en 1975 cuando aparece el ciclomotor Derbi por excelencia, el Variant, con una larguísima vida y una multitud de versiones distintas. 1988, 2001 y 2011. 1988, 2002 y 2011 son años claves para la marca y ninguno bueno. El año de 1988 no fue bueno para Derbi porque fallece su fundador Simeón o Simeo Rabassa. En 2001 Derbi es vendida al Grupo Italiano Piaggio que parecer que se lo toma en serio, renovando su marca e incluso lanzando la Mulhacén 659, una Scramble de diseño retro y motor Yamaha de 600 cm3. Pero en 2011 llega una malísima y esperada noticia: Piaggio cierra Derbi. Fin a una de las marcas más míticas españolas, por más que algunos la hayan hecho de menos frente a Bultaco, Ducati, Montesa u Ossa. ¿Conclusión?… la de siempre… ¡qué pena! Por cierto, Derbi es el acrónimo de “Derivado de Bicicleta” ... DerBi. Está claro que esta gente eran verdaderos genios de la mecánica y del emprendimiento, pero los temas de márquetin, no eran su fuerte…

Pontedera es un lugar simbólico donde en 1946 vio la luz la primera Vespa. 2024 esá un año de doble celebración: además del Vespa World Day, se conmemoran los 140 años de la fundación de Piaggio, y el centenario de la fábrica Pontedera, adquirida en 1924 por Rinaldo Piaggio.

Gli artropodi vengono assemblati a partire da cellule adulte, quindi senza nessuna particolare implicazione etica, e sono qualcosa di completamente diverso rispetto ad altri approcci che, a partire da cellule umane, puntano a dar vita a strutture biologiche o cibernetiche. Because the claims increase insurance rates, all general aviation pilots are paying a price.Multiple incidents are shared as examples: planes running over taxi lights, ground collisions with aircraft and other objects, engines started with tow bars attached. John and Greg see a lack operational discipline by general aviation and professional pilots as a root cause of these avoidable incidents.The issues are not limited to smaller general aviation aircraft. John mentions 2014 fatal accident involving a Gulfstream aircraft where the aircraft operator exhibited operational discipline issues. Pilot and maintenance failures combined to create a dramatic turboprop incident that became a criminal case. John Goglia and Greg Feith explore the incident with a Piaggio aircraft that lost an elevator on the first flight of the day and continued with operations.The air taxi flight crew landed and flew to next airport without performing a preflight inspection. John and Greg talk about the indications the pilots could have detected to recognize problems even if they could not visually inspect the elevators.John cites the NTSB investigation of the 2000 crash of an Emery Worldwide Airlines DC-8 as an example of how a pilot may be able to feel the difference in the control response when a flight control surface fails.The investigation found that maintenance done in response to mandatory AD 28 days before this incident had not been done properly. The nuts holding the elevators in pace were not torqued properly. The plane flew 128 hours with loose hardware.Adding to this incident, the head of maintenance of the charter company operating the plane took steps to hide evidence from the NTSB and FAA. FORD DEALERS WILL FINALLY BE FORCED TO LEARN ABOUT ELECTRIC VEHICLES - In the wake of the decision to split its EV and gasoline vehicle divisions, Ford has announced that its dealers will need to "opt-in" to selling EVs along with normal combustion cars, according to Automotive News. - While the company has no apparent plans to create new dealers or work outside its network of roughly 3,100 existing retail stores, Ford CEO Jim Farley said in an interview that dealers should "get ready to specialize." - Dealers that currently sell the Mustang Mach-E, E-Transit, and are anticipating inventory of the new F-150 Lightning can continue selling them for the next year and a half. - The new dealer agreement isn't finalized yet, but Ford executives have made clear they hope for a no-inventory, direct-order model, as well as non-negotiable pricing and smaller facilities for dealers. - Tesla, one of Ford's main EV competitors, works off of a direct sale model, which Farley estimates helps Tesla save almost $2,000 per vehicle. But he added that "not everything can be done remote" and that Ford still understands the importance of brick-and-mortar dealerships in customer satisfaction. The Select trim only comes with the Standard Range pack, although you can get it in either RWD or AWD guise. - The ongoing semiconductor shortage likely played a key role in Ford's decision. The marque has already experienced production issues this year. Last month Mach-E production was temporarily halted due to supply chain issues. Its abrupt price surge has analysts and investors raising hard questions about automakers' ambitious electric-vehicle programs. - When the battery cell is charged, lithium ions are driven from the cathode to the anode. The emissions can cause respiratory problems in humans. - Although truck manufacturers are working on battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell powertrains, the EPA says the proposal is not a zero-emissions truck requirement. Rather, the agency says there are pollution control devices in development that can keep diesels in use and still clean the air. - Environmental groups praised the EPA's action, but many urged the administration to move quickly on the proposal and then go farther toward requiring zero-emissions trucks. - The new standards would bring widespread air quality improvements, particularly in areas already exposed to heavy truck traffic, officials say.
