In the 1980s a saga equivalent to the script of a contemporary horror film played out in the swamps near Bishopville, South Carolina. The Lizard Man stepped out of the fog and into the limelight in one of the most bizarre cases in the history of Cryptozoology. We begin with a deep dive into Gnawa culture and ceremony, as well as how it compares with other traditions in Morocco and elsewhere. As apart of this exploration we get into the various spirit categories of the Gnawa Lila ceremony. Romance, adventure and mystery. In this episode, we shall look into the 1954 classic, Valley of the Kings. In this film, our heroes search for the tomb of a pharaoh named Ra-Hotep, as they try to prove the literal interpretation of the biblical story of Joseph. Is this a completely accurate masterpiece with impeccable directing and writing? Is it instead a shambles of a film with less historical accuracy than Ancient Aliens? Tales and Sketches Part 3 from Volume V of The Works of John Greenleaf Whittier
It's no wonder so many women aged in their late twenties to early forties are feeling paralysed by overwhelm. We have SO many decisions to make, all while we wade through SO many expectations – whether they're ones we've put on ourselves, or ones that exist from our families, social media, or society as a whole. These dilemma-filled few years (eek, should I have a baby? Is it already too late? Am I with the right person? Should I be focusing on my job?!) are referred to as ‘The Panic Years' – a term coined by author Nell Frizzell and in Volume V of What Matters Most, Antonia and Jacqui do a deep dive into what brings them about and how to navigate your way through them. Jacqui outlines three steps to calming some of that overwhelm, figuring out what you actually truly want (not just what you feel pressured to do) and how to put steps in place to try to get there. Along the way Jacqui and Antonia share their own struggles with The Panic Years, what to do if your panic isn't that you don't know what you want – it's that you know it, but it goes against societal norms or, it's out of reach. Plus, Antonia shares why that advice to treat people how you'd like to be treated, perhaps isn't the best approach after all. Jacqui finishes this volume with a wonderful exercise to define what is important to you – The Holistic Wheel of Life! On episode 2 of Volume 5, Greg is joined by the amazingly talented multihyphenate JAKE HUFFMAN!!!Connecticut born and bred artist Jake Huffman creates a euphoric realm of indie pop rock, bringing his anthemic energy to a global audience. As lead vocalist and drummer, the multi-instrumentalist was previously known for his time in the viral alt rock band, McLovins. Having taken the time to rediscover who he is as a solo artist, Huffman returns with a complete arsenal of new music, all of which has been entirely written, performed and produced by Jake himself. His latest single “Martyr” was written, recorded and produced at the world renowned PowerStation New England Studio and forms a cohesive ode to his upcoming EP. With compelling discourses, the track explores a commentary about dying on a hill, as he explains, “The lyrics aren't about what I personally believe. Everywhere I look people are spouting their beliefs while contradicting themselves in the same breath. The world has become so polarizing and I wanted this song to encapsulate that energy.” With the perfect punch of redemption, his musicality comes to life. Huffman's anthemic vocal energy rises atop crashing choruses, soaring melodies and the alt-rock infused rhythms he's been known to possess. With broadening soundscapes and truly impeccable capability, it's Huffman's hope that listeners will take what they need from the song, as he explores a journey into creativity. Accompanied by a sound that pulls deep from his rock roots and reaches far into what can only be described as the sound of the 20's, his latest single consolidates his status as an exceptional talent. Huffman's latest project is an amalgamation of his musical influences and vast heritage of experience. At the age of 14, Huffman and his band McLovins posted on YouTube a cover of Phish's “You Enjoy Myself” from his parents basement in Connecticut. Overnight the video went viral and sparked a rabid following of fans around the world. Since then, he has shared the stage with Blink-182, Foster The People, BB King and The Flaming Lips. Huffman has garnered humbling praise from the likes of the Rolling Stone, US Weekly, NPR and legendary XPN Radio Programming Director and DJ Bruce Warren, as well as also having caught the attention of Emmy, Grammy and Tony award-winning producer and composer Bill Sherman (Hamilton, In The Heights, Sesame Street) and Glee producer Michael Novick. Meanwhile on television, the musician has left an imprint as a composer and lyricist for Sesame Street, writing dozens of songs for artists like Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges. With plenty more on the horizon, it looks like 2023 will be an explosive year for Jake Huffman.CONNECT WITH JAKE HUFFMANWebsite - Instagram - YouTubeSUPPORT THIS SHOW

Ghost Stories return to the Bobcast just in time for BOBTOBER! That's right, Bobtober. It's like October, only better. This is just the beginning of the spooky content all month long on the Bobcast, so hop on that broom and prepare to live deliciously. Four tales of the strange, the paranormal and weird encounters with the unknown are told in this episode by four of today's paragons of the paranormal. Katie Burr has a tale from 2010 and some high strangeness in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Alex Matsuo tells the story of a jealous spirit that followed her home from an extended stay in the hospital. Troy Taylor talks of the Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton, Illinois and the guests that might not have ever checked out. And the FINAL DESTINATION of the episode is a VERY scary tale told by Cherise Williams of a recent paranormal investigation of the Indiana State Sanitorium. These stories will definately get you in the mood for Spooky Season(tm). Music of the episode by Vudu Sister, with the very haunting “Credite Mihi”. Brought to you by Good Life Digestive Health and Sticker Junkie.

Sometimes during an exorcism you have to improvise a little. Currently, A.A. Ron writes as a pastime and loves to create worlds and stories. This story was previously submitted in Volume V, issue 4 of the magazine JJ Outre Review in 2020 (https://thejjoutrereview.com/urban-demonology/), albeit with a few minor corrections made since then. ---- Story Submission ---- Got a short story you'd like to submit? Submission guidelines can be found at TallTaleTV.com ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- My name is Chris Herron, and I narrate audiobooks. In 2015, poor control of my diabetes left me legally blind for the better part of a year. The doctors predicted an 80% chance I would never see again, but I changed the way I was living and through sheer willpower beat the odds. During this time I couldn't read or write. Two things that I had been turning to for comfort since I was a small child. With the sheer amount of stress I was under, this was devastating. My wife took me by the arm, lead me into the local library, and read out titles of audiobooks to me. I chose the audiobook versions of books I had loved such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter and more. They brought my favorite stories to life in ways I never thought possible and helped me through the darkest time of my life. Once my vision recovered, I maintained a love for audiobooks. I decided I would turn my focus from being a writer to becoming a narrator. I devised Tall Tale TV as a way to help out all the amazing authors in the writing communities I had come to love before my ordeal. I created Tall Tale TV to help aspiring authors by providing them with a promotional audiobook video. A way to showcase their skills with the written word. They say the strongest form of advertisement is word of mouth, so I provide a video to a platform of readers to help get people talking. Help them spread the word. The late Murray Rothbard has passionate fans and critics alike—but was he really the intransigent person his detractors portray? Was he prickly and difficult, or actually generous and helpful to students and colleagues? Did his reputation as an economist suffer for venturing into philosophy, ethics, history, sociology, and anarchism—even though Hayek did the same? Was Man, Economy, and State really just a rehash of Human Action? Did he deviate from Mises on method? Were Power & Market and the Ethics of Liberty just too radical and off-putting? Professor Patrick Newman considers critics like Arthur Burns, Kirzner, Leland Yeager, Nozick, Mario Rizzo, Selgin/White, Jason Brennan, Bryan Caplan, and of course Mises. Volume V of Hex Hector Mixology series is a cream mix featuring many of his biggest hits. Normally I pick favs out of each set, but this particular one is stacked head to toe with them, so it's kind of pointless. I'm elated over the positive response these sets have generated. I had attempted to put these together back in 2010 after I had created the Thunderpuss tribute sets but just couldn't get my head wrapped around it. I remember nothing was working for me, so I just put it off for another day. It wasn't until DJTMD from Montreal reached out to me about some Hex mixes and mentioned he may take a stab at it, that it jogged my memory. I'm glad he did because overall, I think these have come together quite nicely. In fact, I have expanded it from six to a total of eight in this series. That means I've got three more going up this week. So if your favorite mix hasn't shown up yet, it likely will once all the sets have been posted. I'll be back tomorrow with volume 6. Until then ...ENJOY!
