Alex assembles four NA domestic beers featuring Schlafly, Fremont Brewing, Boulevard Brewing Co., and Bonn Place Brewing. How will the two Missouri favorites stack up in the power rankings against a Seattle powerhouse and a nice brewery for nice people in Pennsylvania. In the Beer News, a couple long-time, well loved breweries close down but a Catholic themed brewery rises up in Connecticut, and in Tater news, a new BTAC E.H. Taylor drops and lights up the trade boards. Seth Green, Carlton, and a Bosom Buddy go out to the woods and square off with genetically altered super bugs AND evil hillbilly marijuana farmers. Also, Clint Howard is there. That's the plot to Ticks, the 1993 straight-to-video creature feature that we decided to watch for some reason. We break the whole thing down while sipping on some Peach Wheat from Boulevard Brewing Co., and have a spoiler-free chat about the Fall of the House of Usher.

GI Joe: The Movie was meant for big things. Like Transformers and My Little Pony, it would be the property's big screen debut. The failures of those two prevented it from ever getting the chance, though. Even worse, it was meant to serve as a lead-in to the third season of the television show that, ultimately, never happened. Well, it sort of did, but far later and with a different animation studio at the helm. Essentially, it's all a big "what if?", but if you love the toys, then the odds are good you will love GI Joe: The Movie. It introduces a host of new Cobra and Joe characters to enjoy and even builds upon the lore of how Cobra came to be. Cobra-La, as silly and odd as it is, is visually interesting, and its central characters—Golobulus, Pythona, and Nemesis Enforcer—are all extremely cool. Throw in Sgt. Slaughter's Marauders, and you've got yourself a damn good time. Plus, GI Joe: The Movie has a sick opening song set to a battle at the Statue of Liberty! It's a banger, folks. Now, sit back, toast to America with a Space Camper Red Spectra IPA from Boulevard Brewing Co., and start your trek to the Slaughter House! I, the Thunderous Wizard (@WriterTLK), Chumpzilla, and Bling Blake were once men! This Week's Segments: Introduction/Plot Breakdown – Fighting for freedom wherever there's trouble! (00:00) Lingering Questions – After a word from our brothers in beer at Hop Nation USA, we discuss our favorite real American heroes. (32:47) The "Yo Joe!" Trivia Challenge – The Double Turn Podcast spars with Beach Head, and then I challenge the field to trivia about the cartoon series. The official opening is set for March 5, but Nigel and Nick just couldn't wait to meet up with the crew at River Bluff Brewing's new location in Kansas City. Zack (without an 'h', he says this is very important), Hootie (not the blowfish guy) and Chris (he's the boss who gets the big pour) join in to share their craft beer origin stories, the process for naming beers and professing their love of a good "cry burp." Some of the beers consumed: Zipp coffee infused milk stout, Stonecloud Brewing Company; Dark Truth Stout, Boulevard Brewing Co.; Speedliner IPA, River Bluff Brewing; and a few others from the River Bluff selection, but we didn't take notes and apparently some of them don't have proper names yet. But you can find out. Just #followtheriver.

They're BAAAAAACK after Mel's Covid hiatus. Has it really been almost an entire month since their last episode? So much has happened…it's been FIVEever. Mel had lost her taste and smell…then got it back…then lost it again…and now it's back again, but for how long? Who knows?? Mel is also back on the Keto wagon so this week the duo is going to SeltzerVille and trying Quirk Hard Seltzer by Boulevard Brewing Co in KC, MO and a fourth from Four Hands in STL, MO making this the I-70 Games of Seltzers. It's been so long Mel and Jon ALMOST forgot how to podcast, but they quickly remembered how to work their equipment and just talk at the microphones until funny stuff happened. They touch on subjects from Schitt's Creek, Shower Thoughts, and how the German language is really just angry yelling. AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY…TELL US YOUR DRUNK STORIES!!! It's January (in this case, the contraction is short for “it was”), and the 605 Show is back in Pierre for the annual Governor's Conference on Tourism.First, Alana and V talk about the shockingly great food scene and abundance of intimidating (to V) outdoor activities in Spearfish with Jackie and Brian of Visit Spearfish. Then, South Dakota celebrity Becky stops by to talk about her “Oh Geez” designs, and South Dakota special events, finishing just in time for Alana and V (and John) to forget to record an outro. It's the 605 Show, and Alana won a jackalope basket. Sponsored by Boulevard Brewing Co. Visit Spearfish Oh Geez 605 Magazine Theme music by V the Noble One
The weather has taken a turn for the cold, and so the gang has cozied up in the corner of the Treasury, the new bar and restaurant from the folks who brought Sioux Falls the Carpenter Bar. The Treasury's Brian White (no known aliases) joins us to talk about falling in love with the space at first sight before stubbornly refusing to commit during Alana's bar-themed take on “Would You Rather?”After the break, Loghin Welch of Serendipitous Events drops by to talk about the event planning company's philosophy and some of her favorite event planning opportunities before sharing her thoughts on current wedding trends during Alana's new game, “Is Loghin Into It?”—a pun so tortured that it must be read on the page in order to ever possibly even be recognized. It's the 605 Show, and Alana is making a lot of assumptions lately about how much of a bad boy Brian really is.This episode of The 605 Show is brought to you by Boulevard Brewing Co.The TreasurySerendipitous Events605 Magazine
Andrew Ernst, Executive Chef at 22TEN Kitchen Cocktails lives up to his restaurant's name by serving up so many outstanding entrees, appetizers, and cocktails that we literally had to take a break from recording to enjoy them all. After Alana shares perhaps the world's least scary haunted maze story, Tamien Dysart of Think3D joins the crew to talk about the company's upcoming conference, CultureCon Sioux Falls 2019, how to cultivate workplace culture organically, and to play Alana's latest game “How Do You Deal?” which begins to sound less like a series of hypothetical questions and more like a cry for help the longer it goes on.It's the 605 Show, and full disclosure: V is Tamien's business partner at Think3D, but to avoid the appearance of any conflicts of interest, they didn't sit next to each other while recording. This episode of The 605 Show is brought to you by Boulevard Brewing Co.Think3DCultureCon22TEN Kitchen Cocktails605 Magazine
After taking a brief hiatus so Alana could give birth to her large baby son, the 605 Show is back, recording live to tape at Miner Brewing Co. & Prairie Berry Winery & Taproom (PBM ‘Tap), where Director of Sales & Marketing Angela Avila stops by to absolutely dominate Alana's newest quiz game. After the break, Sgt. Andy Siebenborn of the Sioux Falls Police Department joins us to talk about the challenges of balancing S.W.A.T. life with home life, holding embarrassing department records, and the SFPD's role in the community. He politely declines to answer Alana's question of whether leading the S.W.A.T. team ever gives him “stress diarrhea.” It's the 605 Show, and we're never going to win an ADDY with questions like that. This month the 605 Show crew is posting up at Wileys, where Alana and V are holding Kitchen Manager Michael's feet to the fire about the restaurant/bar's brand new re-branding, Buffalo wing preparation protocols, and being the city's best kept happy hour secret. After the break, Rich Show joins the crew to talk about his decades-long career as the godfather of Sioux Falls rock and roll (our description, not his) and working with his sons before Alana springs her newest quiz game on him, "That's Rich."
