She shows us how life can take unexpected turns and the importance of being open to God's plans. Her unwavering faith, even in the face of potential loss, demonstrates profound trust in God's goodness and plan. Community and Support: The role of community and the church is emphasized as a vital source of support and prayer during difficult times. Katie's talks about how being part of a faith community can provide strength and encouragement. God's Presence in Suffering: Katie reflects on the presence of God during her darkest times, finding comfort in knowing that God understands human suffering and pain. She experienced first hand that in God you can find peace and strength through faith, even when faced with trauma and loss. Transformation Through Trials: The conversation highlights the transformative power of trials, as Katie learns to appreciate God for who He is, not just for the blessings He provides. This insight is a profound reminder of the deeper spiritual growth that can occur through adversity. Podcast Intro: My guest Katie Jones is quite inspiring and her story had me holding my breath and fighting back tears. Life is often a tapestry of unexpected events and trials that test our resilience and faith and Katie has that in common with many of us. Early in her marriage, she and her husband discovered they were not able to conceive and the doctors could not give them an answer as to why they could not. Katie struggled with God about wanting to be a mom. As she and her husband try to discern God's leading He opens their hearts to fostering children. Despite the challenges that come with fostering children they fall in love with the kids and the beauty in breakthroughs and progress in the children's healing journey. As they walk out their fostering journey with the Lord, they shifted their desires to align with what they believed were God's plans for them, no biological children but rather the blessing of foster children. Her story takes a dramatic turn when she unexpectedly becomes pregnant. This news was hard to wrap her mind around and is initially met with disbelief but that soon turned to joy, and Katie and her husband began to let themselves be excited about having a biological child. But their joy and happiness were severely tested at the birth of her sweet baby boy. Within hours both Katie and their newborn Malachi were being monitored for serious problems. Within a day or two they are both diagnosed with sepsis and things began to quickly and drastically change for them both. Katie had to make a life or death decision that would prevent her from having any future children and Malachi would endure a last ditch effort that involved cutting into both the carotid and the jugular arteries, a high-risk procedure that would prevent any further use of those two arteries in the future. One of the more profound moments, for me during our conversation was when she shares how she was praying with her husband, their family, church family and those who have supported them in the last couple of days. They're praying together as Malachi is preparing to go in for this procedure, what they call an ECHMO procedure and she verbally takes a stance by telling God out loud, God if you take his life, I still trust you. That was yet another place in our conversation where I had to fight back tears because she stands in faith knowing that her one and only son is at risk during a medical procedure and that she has no future opportunity to have biological children. Katie's story is an incredible testament to resilience, faith, and the power of community. She emphasizes the importance of the church's support and the way God is working through the church as a global community of believers. Her experience underscores the belief that while God does not promise an easy life, His gives us the beauty of HIs presence and His faithfulness and that offers us comfort, peace and hope in the darkest of times. Listen in to Katie's message of who the God of the Holy Bible is in the midst of loss and uncertainty and may your faith be encouraged for greater intimacy with Jesus. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to another enriching episode of the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the scriptures to explore the life-giving word of God. Today is March 6th, 2025, and on this day 66 of our year-long voyage through the Bible, Hunter, your devoted brother and host, guides us from the picturesque backdrop of Oregon. In unison with sisters and brothers worldwide, we delve into Deuteronomy chapters 3 and 4, Psalm 36, and Mark chapter 13. Hunter emphasizes the vital call to vigilance in our spiritual journey, drawing parallels between keeping watch on a ship and maintaining spiritual alertness. Together, we reflect on the encouragement to stay vigilant, knowing God keeps watch with us, offering His presence and wisdom. As we bathe our minds and hearts in prayer and scripture, we are reminded of the transformative power of God's word and the simple significance of human connection in our daily lives. Join us in this sacred pause as we give ear to God's everlasting love and let it renew our spirits. And remember, dear friends, you are loved beyond measure. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Keep watch. Those are Jesus' final words in Mark 13. Back when I was much younger in college, during the summer, I worked on a boat in the Bering Sea. One of the responsibilities we had was to keep watch. If you were a bystander up in the wheelhouse, it might look like keeping watch wasn't a very active thing to do. However, it was anything but passive. You had to stay alert. It was absolutely critical that you had someone on watch at all times. The person on watch had to make course corrections to ensure that the ship was on course and heading in the right direction. The safety of the vessel and crew was in the hands of the person at watch. To fail at your duty on watch was an offense worthy of being fired. You had the responsibility to keep people safe, to avoid rocks, other boats, keep from running aground. Keeping watch was anything but passive time. It was active time. If you were passive, you ran the risk of being lulled to sleep. Well, Peter, James, John, Andrew, they all come to Jesus. They want to know about future events. They want to know when the kingdom of God is going to be fully established. They want to know when all this is going to take place and when the world's going to be made right again. The answer they are given offers them little satisfaction. Jesus says about the time or day no one knows, not even the angels in heaven nor the Son, but only the Father. Jesus tells them that in light of that fact, it's important to do those things that diligent watchkeepers do. Stay alert. Be vigilant. Build routines into your watch hours. Ensure that you remain awake because the stakes are too high. The safety and welfare of the lives around you are in jeopardy if you're not keeping watch. We must be faithful to keep watch for the sake of our family, our marriage, for those in our church, for our neighbors, for the crew. But there's encouragement for us to stay vigilant during the long watches of the night. That's because he is keeping watch with us. He is with us every hour, and we can learn from him through the watches of night. The stakes are high, but the company is good. Psalm 42:8 says, but each day, the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me. And through each night, I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. He gives us a song in the night as we vigilantly keep watch, as we build routines into the watch hours. And that's what I want this podcast to be for all of us. May it be a place where we learn to keep watch, to wait for God, to experience his presence while we wait. May we know his songs as we wait for his return. Keep watch. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

Relevant Radio is all about "bringing Christ to the world through the media," and that includes reaching those in prison. The Big News? Relevant Radio has teamed up with Edovo, a nonprofit that provides digital education tools in prisons, to make Catholic content accessible to over 1,100 correctional facilities across the U.S. Here’s how it works: Inmates can access Relevant Radio’s content: like Fr. Rocky’s Eucharistic Encounters and The Saints Podcast, right on secure tablets provided through Edovo. In just one month, 25,000 sessions of Relevant Radio content were accessed by inmates. Though federal prisons aren’t on board yet, there’s hope this outreach will expand even further. Why does this matter? Because everyone deserves a shot at grace, even those who’ve lost their freedom. Patrick reminds us of Matthew 25: “I was in prison, and you visited me.” Prison can be a dark, isolating place, and yet, God’s light can still break through the bars. Patrick shares a heart-touching letter from Michael, an inmate in New Jersey, who listens to Relevant Radio daily. Michael prays the Chaplet of Divine Mercy with Drew Mariani and joins in the Family Rosary Across America every evening. He even sent a handmade Christmas card to the team (with some seriously impressive cursive handwriting; Patrick was impressed!). Michael’s words say it all: “Relevant Radio has changed my life.” He and many others are finding community, hope, and a deeper relationship with Christ... right from their cells. So, next time you tune into Relevant Radio, say a prayer for those listening in the loneliest of places. Because God’s mercy knows no walls.

The episode presents a compelling exploration of the biblical narrative in which Jesus commissions both the twelve disciples and the seventy, highlighting the theme of divine empowerment for mission work. The speaker articulates the profound implications of the number twelve as a representation of Israel, and the choice of seventy to signify the nations, echoing the original intent of God's plan for all of humanity. A significant focus is placed on the urgent call for laborers in the harvest, as Jesus identifies a great need amidst a world filled with lost souls. The discussion weaves in the emotional depth of Jesus' compassion, noting that his mission was driven not by obligation, but by a heartfelt desire to see people saved. This theme is mirrored in the apostle Paul's profound sorrow for his kinsmen, underscoring the necessity of cultivating a similar heart for the lost. Ultimately, the podcast challenges listeners to reflect on their own roles in this mission, encouraging passionate prayer, financial support for ministry efforts, and personal engagement in sharing the Gospel.Takeaways: Jesus commissioned his disciples with the authority to preach and heal, emphasizing the urgency of the harvest. The differing numbers of disciples sent out reflect God's expanding outreach to all nations. Paul's heartfelt sorrow for Israel exemplifies a deep, supernatural love for the lost. Effective prayer is passionate and fervent, transcending mere ritualistic practices in the church. Supporting missionaries financially is a vital way to partner with God in his mission. Every believer has a role in sharing the Gospel, regardless of their circumstances.

Faith is truly tested when chronic illness hits a person. Someone can seem like the faith they harbor is strong and their confidence is unwavering and then the day comes when they get their first symptom, leading to a long Easter egg hunt for answers and an army of doctors, only to then find they aren't getting the quality of their life back, and boom—the reality hits and their faith is tested like never before. Faith exists deep inside of everyone, but it could be just a pilot light sitting within their soul that it isn't strong yet and needs to be charged up and reignited. Have you ever run into someone that just knew—knew things were going to be ok and work themselves out? Meanwhile, hearing this felt abnormal, because your problems seemed unfixable, but yet they will be fixable, even though things seem so grim and scary. You are more than any problem you are faced with and you are more than any problem around you, even if it doesn't feel that way. If you don't have the faith to carry you through, then borrow some of someone else's—maybe you know someone who stands strong with faith and wears it on their collar, and you need to borrow a little to get you by. Either way, faith is at your fingertips, faith is in your hands, faith is in your soul. In this episode, learn how to use the golden rope of faith and to restore the faith deep within. In this episode… • Learn about the certain something that some people possess that allows them to override and move forward beyond hardships. • Listen to stories about how people overcame challenges in their own lives. • Discover the lengths to which Faith can deliver you. • Learn what happens when we get sick and how our Faith plays a part. • Uncover how your Faith can be completely destroyed and if your Faith can be recovered and restored. • Learn about the pilot light that exists inside of you and how it is connected to your free will. • Participate in The Golden Rope From Heaven Exercise that will help grow your Faith. Episode #23: What truly happens when you listen to your calling and embrace faith without fear? Join us for an insightful conversation with Mike, a dedicated pastor from Victory City Church in Austin, Texas. In this episode, Mike reveals the inspiring journey that took him from his church-centered upbringing in South Alabama to a decade-long career in education and finally to answering a profound call to ministry. Through Mike's story, we explore the transformative power of faith and the significant impact of community involvement, underscoring the belief that God uses different platforms to fulfill His divine purpose. How does one grow faith in the face of life's challenges? As Mike shares, the connection between faith and action is pivotal—faith without works is dead. We discuss the importance of surrounding oneself with the right influences and stepping out in faith without fear. Mike also tackles the age-old question of why bad things happen if God is good, offering a perspective that sees God's omnipotence as a source of strength. Through personal and biblical analogies, Mike highlights that faith is like a muscle that needs consistent effort to grow stronger, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life. Ever wonder how free will shapes our personal journeys? Mike dives into this by likening it to both personal anecdotes and biblical figures such as Peter and Paul, emphasizing the importance of commitment and redemption. We also discuss the complexities of marriage and family life, the role of community in renewing relationships, and the necessity of supportive, truth-telling individuals. With deep reflections on leadership, humility, and the importance of being rooted in faith, this episode is a heartfelt exploration of how the unwavering love of God and the strength of community can guide us through life's most challenging moments.
