Behold! Paul, Javi, and - majestically - Producer Brad brave yet another sword-and-sorcery spectacular-ish in this story of a warrior on a quest to find… honestly, it's hard to remember, but it definitely had something to do with a weird angry guy (Rip Torn) in a strange place with a thing. And some sort of large roasted animal leg. Oh yes, and the warrior not only has a big sword, tiny loincloth, and major sixpack, he can somehow also talk to animals. Mostly ferrets. He also talks to Tanya Roberts, in an apotheotic bid for 1980s genre queen status. And as if that weren't enough, don't miss the shocking revelation of how Paul was once traumatized by ferrets belonging to an unnamed Oscar-winning director. It's epic-ish battles, dazzling-ish magic, and yes, ferrets… it's The Beastmaster!Follow us!InstagramBlueskyemail: Multiplexoverthruster@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. Do you remember the Beastmaster from 1982? Of course, you do. It was on TBS & HBO every other hour, 7 days a week during the 80s and then one day it was gone, never to be seen again. So join us as we go back to a time when scantly clad women (Tanya Roberts) were kidnapped on the daily by evil cult leaders (Rip Torn) and then heroes (Marc Singer) had to go and rescue them while talking to tigers and eagles because, well he is the Beastmaster. Oh yeah, his best friends were a pair of ferrets. This movie boasts a decent budget that is nowhere to be seen.  A story and plot that did not attend the same meetings. Acting and dialogue that would rival any high school stage production. And a PG rating with boobs a-plenty and an abundance of sword fights with no blood in sight.  We are so excited.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

"Wow! What a view!" "To a KILL!" We watched "A View to a Kill" with special guest Garrett Mitchell and this is now officially a Grace Jones appreciation podcast.  With twenty five James Bond films to choose from, we thought long and hard about which one to cover here at MTMUG. Daniel Craig emerging from the sea like Ursula Andress before him in "Casino Royale" was hard to ignore, but the siren song of a platinum blonde Christopher Walken, the gorgeous "Sheena" herself Tanya Roberts and the ICON Grace Jones made "A View to a Kill" a no brainer. Walken's tech-bro villain has aspirations of monoplizing the Silicon Valley by way of a "double earthquake" and floods, but thats not why were here. Jones as the first ever hench-Woman May Day is serving looks, spouting quips and perfoming feats of strength that had us screaming "Mother!" every time she was on screen.  Okay, we can talk about Roger Moore playing Bond for the Seventh(!) and final time. For 57 years young, Moore was still turning it out as Bond. He more than made up for a lack of chemistry with his leading Bond girl with some great scenes with Grace. And we can't forget the killer theme song by Duran Duran - pure 80's new wave radness! Many actors have portrayed the iconic British secret service agent James Bond over the years, but none have done it quite as "Britishly" as Sir Roger Moore.  Nobody does it better, if Carly Simon is to be believed.  But in this movie, somebody did it worse: Roger Moore!  It was just bad timing really, because he was getting pretty old at this point and was a little past his time to be playing Bond.  The only "Bond" he needed to be concerned with was the one holding in his dentures!  It's still a fun mid-80s action flick with two stunning blondes: Tanya Roberts and...Christopher Walken!  Yeah, that's right.  Walken is blonde.  This is way before Bond was blonde.  And while we're on the subject of hair,  Duran Duran does the theme song!  While remaining perfectly coiffed and stylish, however that word applies to what people wore in the 80s.  So come on!  Dance into the fire and let's have a romp through this hilarious podcast honoring the last appearance of this particular 007, and you'll be begging for Moore!

The original film spawned two sequels as well as a syndicated television series that chronicled the further adventures of Dar.Support Our SponsorsIndie Merch Store - https://www.indiemerchstore.com use promo code JASTA10 at check outMartyrstore - https://martyrstore.net use code JJ10The Mad Russian Apothecary - https://www.madrussianapothecary.com use code JASTA21Seek and Strike - https://www.seekandstrike.com/IP Vanish - https://ipvanish.com/JASTAYodelta.com - https://yodelta.com/ use promo code GAS for 25% offSubscribe On GaS Digitalhttps://gasdigitalnetwork.com/gdn-show-channels/the-jasta-show/USE PROMO Code JASTA for a 2 week free trial.Follow Jamey On Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/jastaFollow The Show On Social Mediahttps://twitter.com/jameyjastahttps://www.instagram.com/jameyjasta/https://twitter.com/bmackayisrighthttps://www.instagram.com/bmackayisright/Musician, former television host, and podcaster Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed, Kingdom of Sorrow, Jasta and the former host of MTV's Headbanger's Ball) interviews your heroes every Monday and Thursday. Introduction! Thanks for the warm and overwhelming support on the return! Chapter 007 Recap Parzival has an epiphany that his home school planet of Ludus is actually the resting place of the Tomb of Horrors. After exploiting away to travel there without zero credits, he manages to find the entrance and makes his way in, ready for the perils that lie ahead. Chapter 0008 Summary With the help of a map from the Tomb of Horrors module, Parzival makes his way through the treacherous tomb avoiding traps and monsters and collecting a heavy amount of gold pieces along the way. He's eventually confronted by Acererak who challenges him to a best 2 out of 3 game of Joust, the classic arcade game. Parzival bests Acererak winning the copper key along with a clue to the first gate but before he's able to leave the Tomb of Horrors, he's stopped short of the entrance by a mysterious figure who making their way inside as well… Chapter 0008 Narrative  Parzival uses his map to navigate through the ToH and avoid most of the traps and monsters Levels up like a few types of classes; monster xp vs GP xp; gp xp converts to OASIS credits He eventually makes his way to the Pillared Throne Room where he sees a throne and Acereak sitting there which is a break from the D&D module The voices inside our heads here - what did you hear when you read the booK? "Not horses," he replied, stepping away from his throne. "Birds." The rules to win a copper key, best two out of three. Of course, Parzival had honed his skills over time and credits Aech as it was his favorite (and former) game used to settle asinine pop culture disputes, but did you ever take issue with just how good Wade/Parzival was at everything? I've seen some of the negative criticism from people who didn't paritcularly like the novel and it's a go-to for a lot of those people. Parzival gets his arse handed to him in match #1; but then asks to play on the other side in order to win games 2 and 3 After the second win, Acererak pounds on the side of the cabinet smashing into pixles and graciously congratulates Parzival before taking the form of Anorak. Anaorak hands him the copper key, and Parzival notice two lines of text etched into the key reading, “What you seek lies hidden in the trash on the deepest level of Daggorath.” He immediately knows exactly what this hints refers to and has a hunch that he needs to travel to Middletown, a re-creation of Halliday's hometown as a boy. There, in Halliday's old home, he would find a "Dungeons of Daggorath" game and somehow that would lead him to the first gate to use the copper key on. All he needed to do now was get out of the Tomb of Horrors and make his way immediately there, but just as he was leaving the tomb, he is confronted by the silhouette of another avatar… The Pop!  Reference: “My flashlight reached into the darkness ahead, flickering off the damp stone walls. Tourist Trap is a weird, overlooked and under-seen horror classic. On this episode of the Really Awful Movies Podcast, we give this movie its due. "God help those who get caught in the Tourist Trap, where beautiful young people looking for excitement...are TRICKED, TERRORIZED, TRAPPED..." It's "the nightmare that never ends" as well, but we digress. It's a 1979 American horror film directed by David Schmoeller, and starring Chuck Connors, the Brooklynite known for his four decades in the entertainment business, as well as playing in two professional sports leagues. Tourist Trap also stars Jocelyn Jones, Jon Van Ness, Robin Sherwood, and Tanya Roberts. The film revolves around a group of friends who wind up stranded at Mr. Slausen's out of the way "museum," where the mannequins are very lifelike. Despite its name, Tourist Trap is definitely not your standard, lost-by-the-roadside movie. It's way more supernatural and oddball. It predated the slasher boom and was a bit lost among the shuffle...so it's our job to spread the word...also, the film features one of the great kills in horror history, and is mentioned in our book, Death by Umbrella! The 100 Weirdest Horror Movie Weapons.
