FOUNDER OF 2ND CHANCEBorn into a minister's home, CJ Orndorff was raised in Tucson, Arizona. Music and ministry were just the way they lived. His parents pastored a local church, but also shared the Good News in other cities and nations. They purposefully demonstrated the passion for evangelism that he carries today. He attended Christ For the Nations Institute in Dallas. Known for it's amazing worship, CFNI further deposited a deeper passion for worship and an insatiable hunger for the presence of God in him.He was raised backing up his musical parents on the electric bass, trumpet and acoustic guitar. His mother, Kathleen, and his father, Cliff, were exceptional musicians and pastors. CJ started leading worship at 15 and served in pastoral and music ministry in Arizona, Iowa and in California until the mid '90s. In 1994, a dear friend asked him to bring his worship team to prison for the first time. That experience changed his life and the focus of his future. Evangelism had always been at the core of his vision and dreams. Those dreams suddenly became a reality in his personal ministry.By God's grace, he's completed nearly 1850 concerts in prisons since 1994.CJ has been happily married to his wonderful wife, Laury, since 1988. Their daughter, Lynelle, is married, has 2 boys, and has served on staff with YWAM Denver. Their son, CJ IV, is a musician and photographer, working alongside his father in 2nd CHANCE. Wake the Faith up Slayer… This is Garth Heckman with the David Alliance and you can reach me at TDAgiantslayer@gmail.com    Brought to you by wellbuiltbody.com Gym Apparel for men and women that rocks and shocks and ain't for everybody - but just might be for you. wellbuiltbody.com   I am a pastor, a business owner, an entrepreneur, a personal trainer, an author, speaker and a powerlifter. In all of these various roles I have one key component that I live by… You will get very little of my time if you are not passionate about something… anything really, but please be passionate… I hate wasting my time with people who are apathetic.      Col.3: 23Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,    Eccl. 9:10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.   Romans 12:11 Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.   What if your passion was your alarm clock? You get up and your feet hit the ground and your mind is buzzing a million miles a second with your passion.  Edmund Burke went so far as to say that Passion is the central part of human character.    But living a life of passion is hard right? What if you are not passionate about anything… what if you aren't really good at anything? It's gotta be hard being passionate about something if you suck at everything… or are we missing something.    the reality is that scripture does not say that passion comes from having the right goals, the right vision, the right priorities, the right plan or even the right talents or gifting. You can be Joe ordinary and live a life of passion. let me explain to you how this works.  Passion in the greek actually can mean the wide eyed wonder and awe that creates an energy to live for something… it can also mean suffering, it can also mean a strong desire to prepare for God. the point is that it is a word specifically used to describe intense emotion good or bad. But lets look at the nuance of Preparing for God.   When I was a freshman in bible college at CFNI, I was a valet. I worked clubs, high rise apartment buildings, parties and even the mall… not just any mall but the galleria. One day working at the mall a limo pulled up and it was Andy Gibb one of the brothers of the famed Bee Gee's… you know saturday night fever etc… anyway, he was cold and his girlfriend Victoria Principal had her limo driver pull up to let him out to buy a full length fur coat. She yelled out the window… I'll wait here honey. So the limo sat there while he went in. Well look, I am 18 years old, she was smoking hot and while she sat there all I could figure was she was staring at me and my buddy who were valeting… so we looked to impress. We lined up the keys, we re parked a few cars to make them more straight, we treated each customer who came out with class, dignity and respect. We even turned down a few tips to show that we were here to serve humanity and not just for the money…. Ok, you get the idea.  Now was she watching us from the darkened windows of the stretch limo… probably not. But who was watching us? The man himself… well the God man- Jesus. God is watching… and If I truly believe that, well then it fills all I do with passion.    Knowing we are doing it for him and he is watching us, creates an intense force in us that fuels our everyday, sometimes monotonous daily activities. Does the holy spirit help… yes, but having a why behind the spirit is even a greater motivator.    Think of the professional athlete, He has the training, the skill, the expertise in study and knowledge - right down to the muscular body to do the job… but ask any athlete what really motivates him and its two things… the prize, crown or trophy depending on what sport and the fans who are watching. Especially if there is family in the stands… especially if it is your father or mother. So now you get it right? We get a crown if we finish well, we get rewarded if we finish well… and we also have a cloud of witnesses watching us… and God the father himself. Now if that doesn't fire you up, you need to check your pulse! Living with passion is simply knowing who is watching and what we get in the end.

Glenn and Susan were some of the 1st people my husband Erik and I met when we joined Trinity Church.   Erik and I had taken on a leadership role for greeters and first-time guests/VIPs and they came to the initial meeting and were extremely helpful and friendly.Since they had been members of Trinity for over 35 years at the time, we were appreciative of their love and support. It was later that I learned of Susan's battle with breast cancer.  We discussed them being on the show/podcast and so here we are!  This is a heartfelt journey that will touch your heart and soul and hopefully ignite your passion for Christ and faith in HIM.  A note from Glenn:Susie and I met three weeks before the prom our junior year in high school. I asked her to prom and we began dating. She started attending church with me and gave her life to Jesus in July. We dated all that summer and in January of our senior year, I proposed, Susie turned 18 in February, I turned 18 in May, we graduated June 3rd and we got married on July 18th at 2:30 in the afternoon and left at 6:30 that evening headed for Texas and have been here ever since. I graduated from CFNI in May of 1983 and became a career firefighter in 1985. We have three children, 2 daughters, and one son, and now have 5 grandchildren. In July of 2017, Susie was diagnosed with breast cancer. It started a year of chemo, surgery, more chemo, and radiation. Through it all, she had NOT ONE OUNCE OF NAUSEA OR VOMITING and we've never heard of anyone going through that like that. God blessed her mightily and used her to minister to others going through cancer during that time with her spirit and attitude. God spoke to me and her through it all with numerous words and miracles, financially and physically. #cancer # survivor #Trinitychurch Other helpful links:Amazing Grace RetreatsThe Road AdventureTrinity Church (Erika's home church)Blue Diamond Roofing & ConstructionIf you have enjoyed these podcasts and would like to support the show, click on the Patreon link below.Patreon MembershipIf you would like prayer or support you can reach out to Susan Lauth at befitforlife@att.net

I am Monique Van 25-year-old from San Diego California. I have many facets to my personality, but they all have one thing in common: Passion. I have a passion for many things in my life including but not limited to: God, family, sports/fitness, business, financial literacy, food, and being social. Growing up I played many sport, track and field, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cross country. Sports has really shaped me into the person I am today. The same mentality I used for sports; is the same mentality I use for everything else in my life. Most people know me as an athlete, and most recently a former UCLA Track and Field athlete. Although I think it is dope to be known for those things, there is so much more that meets the eye. I have many other talents and passions, including being a business owner and criminal justice reform. I am very determined, and I am always looking for ways to improve myself and help others. I am passionate about giving back to the community and supporting my friends, family, and black businesses. God and my family are what gives me the determination to go out and get it each day. Currently I am running a sports apparel company called Fierce competitor, coaching Track and Field at Helix High School and beginning a new job with the federal government.   All seriousness aside, I really enjoy working out, nature, cooking, online shopping, and spending time with family. I am an outgoing person who likes to have fun, but I take care of business first. I have made many sacrifices in my life to get to where I am at now. At this point, I am living proof that sacrifice can get you to where you want to be. I am a firm believer in feeling vulnerable and having failures. I believe that is the only way you can truly get to where you want to be, by seeing where you don’t want to be. Aaron Fisher is originally from the Bronx, New York. Bread of Life Part 2

In ancient days, bread was a staple food and the cornerstone in the diet of most people. In John 6, Jesus begins to teach his followers that in the same way bread nourishes and strengthens our physical bodies, so too would his body and blood strengthen and nourish our spiritual lives. Though the hearers at the time could not understand the teaching (because his body had not yet been broken and his blood was not yet shed) and they rejected it, today we can gain great insight into possessing a truly abundant life as we learn to eat from the Bread of Life Himself. In this podcast, Peter is teaching his students at CFNI practically how we eat the Bread of Life and thus satisfy our deep spiritual hunger for fellowship and connection with the Lord.Support the show (https://app.clovergive.com/app/giving/clodo-braveheartministries)

For those of you thought it would never arrive, that it was a mythical creature like a unicorn or a Texas Democrat, we are ridiculously thrilled to present you with the long-awaited Gabriel Allred interview. To bring you up-to-date, we interviewed Gabe on Halloween 2013, just a couple of days before the release of a new CFNI recording (No Ordinary Love) and during the week of their annual worship retreat, Resonate. After a lot of great conversation, it became abundantly clear that I had an editing nightmare on my hands. Gabe laughed at me. So…six months later, we are finally rolling it out.For the record, Mr. Allred is one of our favorite people. He’s thoughtful, intelligent, clever, and fun. And he is unabashedly passionate about worship. Gabe talks with Joe about leaders that inspire him, why Christian creatives are 20 years behind popular culture, and why playing the accordion is not a simple bid to jump into the hipster movement. Oh, and CFNI’s latest album. Honestly, this interview is so chock-full of great insights on creativity, we can’t list them all. Just queue it up and listen, for goodness sake.
