It's a wild scene that sounds like something out of a movie, but it was her reality! Her courage not only changed her life but also echoed through the civil rights movement, reminding us that even the littlest among us can stand tall against injustice. Join us as we dive into Ruby's powerful story and explore the impact her bravery had on education and equality in America.

In 1934, Upton Sinclair ran for governor of California. During the campaign, he wrote a book, in the past tense, talking about all he accomplished as governor. The problem? He got crushed in the election bid. His talk and hype outpaced the work he needed to do to actually win the race. Like Sinclair, many of us can get ahead of ourselves with talk—about what we have or hope to accomplish. In the process, our hype game outpaces our actual accomplishments. In this episode, we'll talk about practical ways to make war with ego, or pride, which starts with the words we use. Who do we blame when things go wrong? Who do we give credit to when things go right? How does seeing ourselves as a student help us tame the beast of overgrown pride? We'll discuss this and more in the episode. The Single Woke Female (SWF) is becoming one of the larger voting blocs in America. Likewise, women are remaining unmarried and childless at drastically increasing rates. This has ramifications not only for households, but the health of the American nation. As it turns out, women who remain unmarried, just like those who go to college, vote liberal at drastically higher rates. We'll talk about why that is. In this episode, we'll talk about why this is a problem, how it affects the political landscape and economy, and what we as Christians need to do to address the problem. Hint: It isn't to keep talking about the "gift of singleness," but instead to promote a pro-nativist, pro-natal ethos. We'll talk about what we as Christians, fathers, and churches can do to reverse this trend. The Rise of the Single Woke (and Young, Democratic) Female, by Joel Kotkin & Samuel J. Abrams. Men today are told that the masculine virtues of bravery and courage, the readiness to fight, and the desire to win glory for their people and their nations are standards of a time gone past. We are told to rejoice over the death of masculinity, but there is a reason stories like that of Chesty Puller still light fires in the hearts of good men. In today's episode of the Hard Men Podcast we'll reminisce on the bravery and leadership of a great man in the face of impossible odds, and discuss the evergreen need of masculine virtue.Visit ForgedBeardCo.com today and use code HARDMEN for 15% off your first purchase!Book your free consultation with Boniface Business Solutions at bonifacebusiness.comVisit White Tree Solutions at wtsdata.com or send them an email at info@wtsdata.comTalk to Joe Garrisi about managing your wealth with Backwards Planning Financial.Alpine Gold Exchange Website: alpinegoldogden.comSet Up a Meeting: https://calendly.com/alpinegold/alpine-gold-consultation10 Ways to Make Money with Your MAXX-D Trailer.Buy your beef or pork box today from Salt and Strings Butchery. In this very special episode of Talk To Us West Covina we sat down with members of the board at the famous Ramona Bowl in Hemet, CA. The Ramona Bowl and the Ramona Outdoor Pageant and Play are the oldest in California. This play was inspired by the writings of Helen Hunt Jackson back in the 1800's. Helen Hunt Jackson was also famous for fighting for the California Native American Tribes that were being mistreated. She petitioned Congress and wrote books on the atrocities that were taking place. This play is the results of her writings and her legacy. Since 2023 is the 100 Year Anniversary of the play and the Centennial of the City of West Covina, we felt this would be great for the residents to learn more about a hidden gem we have here in Southern California. Please take the time in April or May to visit this landmark and historical play. Tickets are not very expensive and you will be treated to a wonderful afternoon and an even more wonderful play. For more information please visit their website at:www.ramonabowl.comTalk to Us West Covina:Website: www.talktouswc.comEmail: talktouswc@gmail.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/talktouswc

This talk is a continuation of Talk 43. In his own time, Saint Seraphim of Sarov said that Orthodox Christians had forgotten the true aim of the Christian life. Many had become immersed in the darkness of materialism or in routine and mechanical outward piety. Saint Seraphim revealed the true aim of the spiritual life to his disciple, Nicholas Motovilov. This revelation is considered one of modern Orthodoxy's most important spiritual treasures. In this talk, Father Kosmas explains how if such ignorance existed in Saint Seraphim's time, how much more does it exist now. In our times, many have a wrong view of the essence of spiritual life. He emphasizes how many are confused by what exactly is meant by “good deeds”. By analyzing the saint's revelation, Orthodox Christians will discover not only what good deeds are, but also the most important thing of all: what we need to do to be saved. The following questions are also discussed: why is hypocrisy considered the worst of sins? Is confessing Christ as God enough, considering that the devil does the same? External versus internal piety – which is more important? Should not Christ have reprimanded those who followed man-made traditions? Should asceticism be considered more important than following the commandments? What is the first gift that God gives to those who are truly struggling?Other points covered in this talk include: the danger of trusting oneself in the spiritual life; the danger of being obsessed with particular aspects of Orthodoxy; how strictly observing Church practices can become a form of idol worship; how an answered prayer does not always indicate spiritual progress; how the devil can imitate the gifts of the Holy Spirit; and the story of how a prostitute's prayer raised a mother's only son.Acknowledgement: The Transfiguration of St. Seraphim, Mural in St. Seraphim Cathedral, Dallas, TX USA, by Vladimir Grygorenko, www.orthodox-icon.comTalk 44 duration: 3hrs 39minsChanting duration: 13mins (Hymns from the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos)Visit our website: www.OrthodoxTalks.com

Who do you want to spend your time with? What do you want to do with the time you have?Deprogramming -We were told to: go to school, get a job, get married, have children. But, do those things fit? Are they what you want? Where is your heart leading you? Most important mindset (in life and in business): Start the day with, It's a glorious day, I have more than enough of all that I need, and anything I lack I can ask and receive.Know that. And know that you have resources to share. Figure out where the gaps are so you can fill those in. Then, fill yourself to overflowing and then give from the overflow.Social Capital - I give, I get. Remember, you give from your overflow.About NetworkingAsk: What community do I want to join? Get very clear about your values first. Be very careful about what you join because we have to be judicious about the people we spend time with.Ask: Who I amAsk: What resources do I have in excess that I can share? Then I need a system for keeping track of what I've given and what I've received.

Find Robin: quittingculture.comTalk with Robin (Complimentary 15 minute call)Notes:If you want things to change, you have to become somebody new (to get different results). When you work from your higher self things flow.Quantum leaps in business come from quantum leaps in your beingness. We bring our ‘art' to the world. If we go into business with a purpose, mission, or passion, then we bring our heart into our business and that's when the magic happens. About compromise: As soon as you make one accommodation, you're willing to subvert your higher self and you'll do it again and again. Subverting your higher self won't bring you happiness. We also need to look at innovation as a key component to standing out (breaking the mold of what's already being done in the marketplace). The more disruptive you are, the more unique and memorable you are. You even create your own niche by innovating and disrupting the status quo. The higher you go, the more slings and arrows come your way. Not because you're wrong, but because people become jealous when other people rise. Keep going.
