Jannette Anderson, a veteran in the field of information marketing with nearly four decades of experience, offers a nuanced perspective on the discipline. She advocates for a focused approach that prioritizes delivering value to a specific target audience, rather than attempting to appeal to the masses. Anderson emphasizes the need for a deep understanding of client challenges and tailoring marketing efforts to address these issues directly, thus building credibility and trust. Through her extensive work, including her upcoming book "The Rise of the Mature Preneur" and her training course "Increase Your Authority and Influence," she demonstrates how strategic information marketing can drive business growth by connecting with the right audience and guiding them through the sales process effectively.
Here's something I want you to remember...Not all leads are created equal. Not all leads are hot prospects! Depending on what you put out into the world, that will determine who you're attracting in. Not everybody that you attract in is a ready, willing and able buyer. We need to be careful of this when we are creating our lists. What you want to do is actually be very selective. It's better to have a smaller list than a huge list that has a whole bunch of junk in it.So, when you put some goodness out into the world, make sure your messaging is on point, make sure that you're attracting the people you want to attract, and make sure you're building an audience that has the right people in it.Are you building a list of the right people?Resources:Adaptive Inner Circle - The Adaptive Inner Circle with Paul & Melissa Pruitt is an epic 12-month experience for online business owners, coaches, course creators, and membership site owners who aspire to create financial freedom and a lifestyle they want for themselves and their family and also create a positive impact in their community and the world.Adaptive Marketing Program - Adaptive Marketing Program is an exclusive opportunity for online business owners, coaches, course creators, and membership site owners to play bigger and bolder in their business and explode their bank account with more clients! For a list of our resources & recommendations visit: https://onlinemarketingpodcast.com/learn-with-paul-melissa/Connect with us on social!Instagram: @realpaulpruitt & @realmelissapruittFacebook: @realpaulpruitt & @realmelissapruitt

We are wrapping up our special list building series today. And I know I've been talking a lot about how list building provides every coach and course creator with more options. But it's also the thing that helps you move beyond relying on referrals to bring in private clients. Which is why today, we're going to craft a list building strategy with private client attraction in mind. My guest, Michelle Cox, teaches people the learnable skills to embrace their secret dream of writing a book so that they can go from feeling like an imposter with a silly book idea to being an author who did the hard work and wrote a damn good book. Michelle has a very clear vision about where she wants to take her business. That vision looks like:➡️8-10 private clients➡️1-2 VIP Days each month➡️1 small group and maybe a membership down the road. This vision is totally possible for Michelle and for you. But only if you make list building your top priority. Why? Because 1-3% of your list will end up becoming customers. So, if you can't find customers, it's probably a sign that list building has fallen to the wayside. Today, Michelle and I craft a simple plan of (boring) habits she can repeat, every week, in order to become more visible and build her list. None of it is complicated or fancy, but it is essential because if Michelle wants to work with 16 clients, she needs a list of 1600 subscribers. So, as you listen along, think about your client-getting goal. If your list building efforts don't match that number, then this episode is for you. Building your list starts with the first subscriber. That's right, you don't have to have the big list from the get-go, you can get there gradually. And what's more important is that you're building your list with the right people. So, take your time building your list. Think of the right people that you want to connect with and make those connections to build your list, slowly and steadily, and with the right people. Remember, it all starts with that first person and then from there, slowly and steadily grow that list of the right people that are interested in what you do, are interested in the programs that you offer and interested in the transformation that you're promising. Have you started building your list?
If you use Instagram (IG) in your marketing, this episode is for you because let's face it...IG can be incredibly frustrating when you feel like the effort doesn't match the results you get back. That was the case for Allyn Miller who helps stressed moms survive and thrive in every meltdown whether it's their child's or their own. Allyn enjoys IG marketing but she's not always consistent. She came into the episode with a pretty clear question: How can I do a better job of using IG to grow my email list? We developed a 3-pronged approach. First, we automated her DM strategy using the messaging app, ManyChat. Then, we removed any subtle or soft CTAs whenever she promotes her lead magnet. Often, as values driven coaches, we unintentionally overcomplicate our marketing because we don't want to be salesy or pushy. But this actually makes it more difficult for the people who want our help to get it. So, we just removed the subtlety to give folks an unapologetic, client-centered path to getting their hands on her extremely helpful lead magnet. These strategies allowed Allyn the space to implement Story Swaps. It's an idea I had during our conversation inspired by lead magnet swaps. You'll have to listen in to learn the steps and I hope you will because this super simple collaboration strategy got both of us very excited. Key Takeaways Direct DM Strategy: Use a direct approach in IG DMs to offer valuable resources and engage potential clients effectively. Automate with ManyChat: Implement ManyChat to automate responses and simplify the lead magnet delivery process. Speak Client Language: Use the language that resonates with potential clients, addressing the specific problems they want to solve. Simplify Content: Create content that is concise and easy to understand. IG Story Swaps: Consider collaborating with others in your niche or related niches for story swaps to grow your audience mutually. Relationship-Based Growth: Focus on building relationships and trust rather than relying solely on algorithms. Many experts focus intensely on creating their courses and programs, yet overlook the crucial need to build an audience who will actually buy from them. In this episode of Influence by Design, Samantha chats with Ellen Finkelstein on how to build an engaged email list to help your business thrive. Your “list” is a list of people you can legally reach out to, and Ellen emphasizes the value of building your email list. She shares how synergistic partnerships, "freebie swaps," and consistency have significantly helped in growing her own list and how these have been instrumental in nurturing business relationships over time. She also highlights the importance of being selective in ensuring that you only share valuable and relevant content with your audience. She shares how her "newsletter style" allows her to promote multiple partners in every email she sends, providing massive value to her audience. Ellen also tackles ideal email frequency, overcoming worries about "bothering" people, and effective ways to build trust and engagement. Tune in as Samantha and Ellen discuss the necessity of consistently building your audience hand-in-hand while growing your business. Their insightful tips and strategies will lay the foundation for success and help you expand your reach. For full show notes and links - https://samanthariley.global/podcast/544
Do you ever worry that you overcomplicate things inside your business? Whether it's your social media content, the structure of your offers, or even the way you talk about your work, a lot of coaches unconsciously create confusion for themselves and their audience with what I'll call the Kitchen Sink Approach. It's rooted in a deep desire to serve and to be successful, but it often results in this invisible assumption that we have to include every little detail about our work into every thing that we do. As the saying goes: a confused mind says no. So, the kitchen sink approach needs to go. And that's what we'll cover in today's episode. My guest is Krista Strayer who helps women who have just had a wake up call feel vibrant and healthy naturally. Krista has been my health coach for the last several months and I just have to say that she's so knowledgeable, compassionate, and very good at what she does. But that message can easily get lost in translation in Krista's marketing. Why? The Kitchen Sink Approach. So, Krista and I put our heads together to really spell out the customer journey her clients tend to take. And what we discovered was that Krista's message was just too advanced for her audience. Which is a simple problem to solve when you clarify your Signature System and understand the steps your ideal client must take in order to be ready for coaching and successful in the process. Krista and I both left this conversation feeling so clear about her message and the structure of her offers. So, I hope it inspires some clarity in you too. In this episode, you'll learn to: Simplify your business model and create a user-friendly customer experience. Establish a reliable routine for consistent content creation and its promotion. Develop bespoke approaches to cater to clients at their unique stages of their journey. If you want to learn how to leverage your strengths… leverage what's working… to become more visible and boost your sales, then this episode is for you. .My guest today is Omar Cumberbatch who helps Health Coaches create podcasts that build their brands. Earlier this year, Omar invited me to join him on his show, The Health Coach Academy Podcast. His show is really valuable and quite successful. So, Omar wanted to brainstorm how he can leverage his show to boost course sales. Which led us to a step by step conversation about list building because if you want to boost course sales, you've gotta build a mailing list. Since Omar isn't interested in social media marketing, we brainstormed a couple of simple ways he can build off of his podcast to add email subscribers who can ultimately buy his course. In this episode, we'll discuss how to: 1. Use your podcast for list building and marketing courses. 2. Use lead magnet swaps as a cutting-edge list building strategy. 3. Create personalized pitches to increase chances of being booked on other podcasts to help drive more listeners to your own show. 4. Build commercials for a lead magnet into every podcast episode. 5. Use social media to promote your podcast and lead magnet. Key Points We Cover: Podcast Promotion You can't simply make a course and expect it to sell. Instead, Dallas and Omar brainstorm ways he can use his successful podcast to drive more sales. Their ideas include running commercials for his course directly on the podcast. They also talked about using the podcast to also build his mailing list so he can sell via email. And lastly, how Omar can leverage partnerships to bring more ears to his podcast where he'll then be able to sell his course. Social Media Marketing Strategy A social media marketing strategy is essential for coaches who aim to build their email list. By consistently utilizing various platforms, coaches can expand their reach and engage a much larger audience, thus increasing the chances of attracting new subscribers. It is important for coaches to choose social media strategies that align with their personal comfort level and preferences, as this will ensure more consistent engagement. In this episode, Dallas encourages Omar to embrace a more consistent social media marketing strategy by posting podcast transcripts and audiograms on his LinkedIn account. They discuss the importance of tailoring your marketing strategy to fit your personal preferences so they feel authentic and comfortable, which in turn will help you connect with potential subscribers on a genuine level and ultimately grow your email list. No-one is motivated to receive more newsletters! Okay, maybe we started off a bit harsh there… But when you're growing your SMS & Email list, this is a hard fact you NEED to know. So again, for the people in the back! A newsletter is not the most effective way to convert new subscribers into buyers. And for the people who thought they were spared…. No, a discount is also not the only way of offering value to your target market. Yes, it's a nice enticement for someone who is ready to buy right now, but it's not the only way to grow your email list. You have to think of your online store, like a physical store where most people will come to visit but they're probably not gonna buy right away. So you have to prepare to keep them engaged throughout their entire buyer journey. This is why it is imperative that you entice as many of these website visitors to subscribe to your list as possible. When it comes to actually enticing people to subscribe, there are a multitude of different ways you can grow your list. Most brands aren't doing a very good job of this though. Of course, the bigger your list is, the more you can amplify and grow your results. And once you have them on your list, you can then use the power of Klaviyo to convert more of those browsers and subscribers into actual buyers. On autopilot. So, If you choose to skip the chance to nurture your customer when they trust you with their email address, you are missing an incredibly valuable opportunity to gain a customer for life. Time to strap in while I touch on 5 awesome benefits you'll enjoy if you master email and SMS marketing. And, 3 effective ways (besides discounts & newsletters) you can use to grow your email list! It allows you to present your offer to new people. And that allows you to grow. One of my main goals for my business in 2023 is to double the size of my email list. I challenged the ladies in my Elevate Mastermind to make growing their lists one of their goals for 2023 and now I'm challenging you to do the same thing. List-building activities need to be at work in your business every day. I'm sharing ten different ways you can build your email list. And no, you don't need to do all of them at once. Add a pop-up on your website - have a pop-up at work on your site at all times capturing email addresses. Create an opt-in on your website with a way to serve your audience - give them more information about something (box opening with a freebie or additional information like a style guide, a free printable to go with your home decor box, a checklist to go with a beach themed box, tips about caring for your pet for a pet box, etc.) Think about the industry you're in and what you can provide to serve your audience. Run a giveaway - a great way to build your list when you're new and as a quarterly list-building strategy for seasoned box owners. Post a lead magnet on social media and run ads to it - pulling people in and onto your list. (ebooks, checklists, gift with purchase, etc.) Add an email opt-in at checkout - capture people who buy from you but may not be on your list. Create a fun quiz that requires an email address to get results - make it something your audience will want to share! Offer a discount or free gift - use this carefully to prevent training people to only shop with you when there is a sale or a discount. Host an event or workshop - free or low-dollar offer. Works great for DIYers or crafters. Tease sneak peeks or exclusive behind the scenes content with opt-ins - early access gives feelings of fun and exclusivity. Get in front of new audiences - collaborate with other brands, businesses, and influences who have the same customer but sell different items for a joint giveaway or a way to serve each other's audiences. Note: Make it clear to people that they will be receiving emails from you when they provide their email addresses. Pick one thing to work on right now. Get that going and then add in another strategy. The more of these you do, the more people you'll reach and the more people you'll add to your email list. Let's talk about the #1 thing standing between you and all the clients you want. It's your list. Sometimes the answer to finding more clients is to build your list. And that's the truth for my guest today. Michelle Cox who has a very clear vision about where she wants to take her business. That vision looks like: —8-10 private clients —1-2 VIP Days each month —1 small group and maybe a membership down the road. This vision is totally possible for Michelle and for you. But only if you make list building your top priority. Why? Because 1-3% of your list will end up becoming customers. So, if you can't find customers, it's probably a sign that list building has fallen to the wayside. Today, Michelle and I crafted a simple plan of (boring) habits she can repeat, every week, in order to become more visible and build her list. None of it is complicated or fancy, but it is essential because if Michelle wants to work with 16 clients, she needs a list of 1600 subscribers. So, as you listen along, think about your client-getting goal. Do your list building efforts match that number? TIMESTAMPS: 00:05:00 - Michelle shares the longer term vision for her business 00:08:00 - The difference between outcomes and offers 00:09:00 - Dallas asks Michelle what she believes is standing between her and that vision 00:11:00 - One of the biggest mistakes that Dallas sees coaches making 00:15:00 - Together, Dallas + Michelle put together a repeatable plan to support her list building habits 00:29:00 - Dallas speaks to why and how Michelle could focus on podcast guesting 00:36:00 - They create a process for moving subscribers into a discovery call 00:42:00 - The one thing standing between Michelle and all of the clients she wants CONNECT WITH MICHELLE: WEBSITE: https://www.bookcoachingworks.com INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/michellemeltoncox_bookcoach/ CONNECT WITH ME: INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/dallastraversbizmentor FREE QUIZ: https://dallastravers.com/quiz

Work Smart Hypnosis | Hypnosis Training and Outstanding Business Success
One of the most beneficial mindsets we can adopt from the info-marketing world is that money is in the list. But all too often, hypnosis professionals drop the ball when it comes to building their list. For some, the concept stays at the bottom of their to-do list, never reaching the top of the priorities list. Others may have started the process of list-building but haven't truly discovered the best approach or system to successfully build their list, provide valuable content, and turn those subscribers into paying clients. This week, I explain what it means to build your list. I share strategies you can use to get started and how using email auto-responders can make the list-building process much easier and quicker. I discuss why you shouldn't get discouraged when people unsubscribe from your list and what it actually means. I explain why you need to lead with value when creating your email content and why you don't always need a call-to-action in your emails. I explain how to segment your subscriber list and how it helps you organize them for future promotions. I also discuss why you should create opt-in offers for each page of your website and how to use your list to continue interacting and communicating with your social media followers – even when those platforms become non-existent. Launch Your Box Podcast with Sarah Williams | Start, Launch, and Grow Your Subscription Box
Audience building should always be on your to-do list. Whether you already have a subscription box or you're just getting started, consistently work to reach and engage new people. One audience building strategy I teach inside Launch Your Box is to run a giveaway on social media. I use a free, easy-to-use software called Kingsumo to run my giveaways a couple of times a year. My last giveaway added 1500 people to my email list! When you run a giveaway, follow four simple steps Determine your goal - why are you running a giveaway? To grow your following. To build your email or text list. To gauge interest in your potential box. All of the above! Determine your prize. Your prize needs to be “worth it” - what would make you enter a contest? Consider offering a box or a 3-6 month subscription. Create your timeline. Your giveaway should run for 7-14 days. Share, share, share! Send an email to your list - remember, some of them may not follow you on social media yet. Social posts - videos, stories, etc. Keep talking about it throughout the 7-14 days to keep the excitement going. There are rules for running giveaways on social media. You need to be aware of these rules and follow them. The contest must be free to enter - it cannot be combined with a purchase. The winner must be chosen randomly. The winner must be announced publicly. You must state clearly (in posts and your contest rules) that your giveaway has no affiliation with the platform. Every week inside Launch Your Box, members are setting up and running giveaways. It's one of the best things you can do to jump-start your audience building no matter where you are in your subscription box journey. Join me for this episode as I talk about why you should run a giveaway as part of your audience building strategy, the steps to follow to make it a success, and the important rules you need to follow! Build your email list 365 days a year. Always be list-building. Yes, seriously, you have the opportunity every day even if it is to attract just one more right person into your email list. If you could gather one person a day, you would have 365 people on your email list at the end of that year. Now of course that might not be the vanity metric that you want. But wouldn't you rather have a small list of really tuned-in people rather than a big list of people that aren't interested? You can do that; you just need to keep it simple when you're building your lists. So, what can you do today that would attract at least one next right person? Grab our "Creating the Perfect List Building Experience Guide" to get started with building your list with ideal people for your offers here: https://onlinemarketingpodcast.com/creating-the-perfect-list-building-experience-guide

Savvy and strategic, he shares his tactics and preferences for selling equipment using social media and selling his brand with email marketing, plus some website tips. This month, we've curated a special Greatest Hits series for you. I'm completely biased, of course, because I adore every guest who's ever been on the show — so putting together a list of greatest hits felt impossible. But, when I narrowed our search down to three specific categories, it got a little easier. So, next week, we'll focus on building your confidence. Then, we'll highlight my favorite episodes about building your team. But today, we will hone in on building your list. In today's episode I will share a brief summary of three previous podcast episodes where we took a deep dive into list building. First up, Episode 3 with Brian Patacca. In Episode 3, we dig in and talk all about the success Brian found in his business thanks to a rock solid list building strategy. Second, Episode 5 with Tilita Lutterloh. In this episode, we examined a simple organic marketing strategy to get your lead magnet in front of more eyeballs. Lastly, Episode 41 with Tamika Auwai. In my conversation with Tamika, she offered one small shift around how to think about content and the flood gates opened up. Hint: Nurture Marketing. I cannot wait to hear your biggest takeaways from this greatest hits list. So, please be sure to hit me up on Instagram at @dallastraversbizmentor. Have a great week + Happy Listening! I am so excited about today's episode because it's been a while since we talked about list building. And, if you want to eventually scale with a course or large group program, your list matters a lot. In fact, I often see coaches struggle to hit their numbers on their second or third program launches because they've ignored list building. And I don't want that to happen to you! So, today's episode is designed to help you grow your list in a simple and connected way. My guest is Emily Grace who helps actresses/creators write their damn script already and know what to do with it . Emily has pretty much mastered my favorite list building strategy so it's time to up the ante. This week's Small Business Superstars is Phil King who is a freelance voice actor, supporting actor, photographer, and audio engineer. A little bit about Phil's amazing business… Phil is primarily a voice actor but over the last 12 months, Phil has had to extend his business due to the current situation so has been helping creatives with their podcasts and actually edits this podcast too! What one marketing thing made a difference to their business? Found a course by Jonathan Tilley who helps creatives get online – the course was to build your email list. He then spend time researching people who may need a voice actor and personally reached out to them to introduce himself and get to know them better. The important thing about the emails Phil sent is that they were all personalised with the research he had done. Phil also created a side hustle – The Podcast Assistant which was for a separate target market to what he was previously doing. Phil then decided to do my Build Your List course and created tailored lead magnets to get his new list started. What difference did it make to them and their business? It was a hard slog and a long time on the internet every day but it worked – it gave Phil the client base he has today who often return for repeat business. So there you are, building your followers and your community slowly. You tirelessly create content and make sure you create relationships with your followers. Then one night, you find your account deactivated and/or banned. All your followers, content, and conversations - GONE.Sounds familiar? This happens to a lot of social media accounts, big and small. As a business owner who uses social media to reach out to potential clients, this can be a big blow. This is what inspired me to bring this topic to light, and help you create a list that is yours and will not depend on social media followings. The tips I give here are so simple but often not used effectively to build your own email list. Make sure you have your pen and paper ready and listen to this incredibly important topic!I will share how you can secure your email list through:✨ A story of my friend and the horror she experienced with her IG account.✨ How to create an optimized mini-bio for your social media accounts.✨ Think, amplify, and create a solution to your ideal client's problem.✨ Prime real estate, positioning, potential, and your call to action.✨ A tech trick that you can use to make your bio pretty and optimized!✨ Be your own height women/men and showcase your accomplishments.✨ Making a clear, congruent call to action.
If you ever feel weird about selling to your list get ready because my guest this week is Jenna Doolittle. Jenna is a career coach for actors and when the industry shut down overnight as much of the world went into quarantine, Jenna wanted a way to truly help the acting community access as many high-value free resources, classes and events online as they could. So, she began curating a daily digest of the best resources for actors. Over time, Jenna's newsletter evolved to a weekly digest that brings in a bit of ad revenue. But Jenna needed a better way to monetize her newsletter without losing the original intention, essence or value of it. In a private session together, Jenna and I came up with a pretty clever way to monetize her newsletter with Patreon. Which left Jenna with two questions. How can I keep attracting subscribers to my newsletter? Once someone subscribes, how can she convert them into loyal Patreon members? That's what we dig into during today's episode. It's a juicy one and I'm excited to share it with you. Also, Jenna and I completely dorked out with matching outfits for the episode. You can see proof of our dorkiness here: https://bit.ly/2KG1JM6 Want to learn more? If you're a coach and your goal is six figures this year, come watch The Coach Class for free.
