As broadcast April 6, 2022 with plenty of beach vibes for the podcast trip in your mind to The Mighty Pacific. Tonight we took our 2nd Round Trip with Dunia on flight TD068 with a trip to the Fijian capital of Suva, so to warm up we played a ton of chill beach vibes and lots of tunes from big names in the Pacific Islands, not just Fiji. This one is especially for the silent pandemic victims who've just been stuck at work for over 3 years now with no travel whatsoever like us in the booth tonight.#feelthegravityTracklisting:Part I (00:00)The Electric Peanut Butter Company – DreamsLord Echo – Rhythm 77Liz Damon's Orient Express – Woota (Feelin' Good)Khruangbin – Time (You and I)Hot Rain – HawaiiCommon Kings – Lost In ParadisePart II (31:24)Jeremy Passion – LemonadeThe Beautiful Girls – La Mar (The Ocean)Surfaces – Palm TreesKolohe Kai – Ehu GirlThe Black Seeds – Cool Me DownFrank Orrall - Never Trade These Days Part III (68:00)Elena Baravilala - Keep On WalkingNatalie Raikadroka – Ciqomi AuJesswar (feat Pink Matter) – VenomFiji – Hey GirlSaimone Vuatalevu - Tucake MaiSakiusa Bulicokocoko – Sa I Levuka Ga Part IV (99:44)Paulini - Rough DaySantigold – Creator (vs Switch & Freq Nasty)Sakiusa Bulicokocoko - Lik Lik Tin FishCommon Kings – Today's A New Day feat MAYDAYLeessang (feat Ali)- BallerinoBAECHIGI – 마이 동풍

Milkcrate Mechanic began experimenting with mixing wax over 2 decades ago. The name came from being one of the last DJ's still carrying crate after crate up and down stairs, not updating DJ equipment to CDJs or even a laptop. After many years Mr. Milkcrate can't be tied down to a specific genre, his sound can be described as unique, funky fresh and infinitely danceable. This has given him a chance to share a stage with artists Phutureprimitive, Griz, Sub-Swara, JPOD, Dieslboy, Enzymes, Freq Nasty, Logisticalone plus countless local and regional talent. Aside from playing music he started Milkcrate Productions. Inspired from attending and hosting a theme camp at Burning Man. The Production Company was created to provide locals (many of them their first time) a bigger and better platform with which to perform. Since 2008 the mission statement for Milkcrate Productions has been and will always be, "Bringing the community together through art and music". Thus began Milkcrate Monday at the Palace and Badlander complex which later became Milkcrate Wednesday and after a decade became the longest running DJ weekly in the state. Some Words form the Man Himself- Hailing from the beautiful Missoula Valley my biggest inspiration has always been bringing something new and different to our community and providing up and coming artists a much needed outlet. Honestly running a weekly plus often a headliner show or festival on the weekend was a lot of work but always worth it. Another major inspiration is my wonderful wife Kitty! Without her love and support I don't know that many of these shows would have happened. In addition to the weekly at the Complex, I helped with major festivals across the state and beyond. I had the honor of playing and helping build and promote events such as Shine, Pirate Party, Neon City, LYMEF, Forest Creatures and many more! Inspired by the Burning Man Festival I constructed a couple of geodesic domes, an art vehicle (Boxy Brown RIP), a fire breathing dragon head and two twenty foot flame cannons just to add to the outdoor DJ experience.Watching this music scene grow and flourish has always been my biggest inspiration. However being able to host artists in my own home during their first trip to the Treasure State has been amazing as well. Having artists such as CloZee and JPOD stay with you and realizing that not only are they fantastic musicians but also amazing genuine people is nothing short of humbling. This mix includes some new jams as well as some classics dusted off and resurrected from "the crate". Enjoy! -Milkcrate Mechanic- For more of his amazing mixes check out https://soundcloud.com/milkcrate-mechanic?ref=clipboard&p=i&c=0

We are starting a series of guest mixes spotlighting various artists outside of the Bay Area and kicking it off with a guest mix from Tampa Bay's InterCom (@intercom-dj). Intercom has pulverized dancefloors from coast to coast with his unique brand of impious vibrations since 1999. Stupefying crowds from Black Rock City to Lakes of Fire, Intercom’s influence on the Burning Man music community has stretched from memorable performances at the Freakeasy and Hookahdome to those at Dewie Decibels and Gon Kirin. In Detroit, Intercom spent years leaving audiences in a pile of their own excrement during monthlies for SanctumFM. Also pairing his caliginous vibe quite appropriately with the devils and ghouls at Theatre Bizarre, where he has performed since prior to the inception of their mainstream epoch. Intercom has opened for and supported such belligerence powerhouses as Deekline, Keith Mackenzie, Stanton Warriors, Freq Nasty and Radiohiro. Here's what he had to say about the mix: "The space cowboys have been a continual inspiration musically and it's an honor to have the opportunity to be featured by them. I hope this can get folks a-wiggling, even through quarantine! This week in The Armory, we're thrilled to welcome a man who is a true breaker in every sense of the word. In his hometown of Miami, FL they call him “Bebe” and he is both a 6-time world champion break dancer and a fantastic breaks DJ/producer. Press play. Get down. Bebe is a 6x World Champion B-boy and began his career in Breaks in 1994 as the founding member of Ground Zero Crew (Miami's World famous B-Boy Crew). Dancing to Electro, Florida Breaks, and Freestyle early on as a B-Boy, blessed Bebe with an ear for body rocking bass. Applying the same passion for Breaking into DJing was a natural progression, since 06 Bebe has been dropping serious basslines. He has rocked at events such as Burning Man, In Beat We Trust, Future Sound Of Breaks,Earth Dance, 9 Mile Music Festival, and has shared stages with the likes of DJ Icey, Stanton Warriors, FreQ Nasty, Baby Anne, Deekline, Freestylers, Lady Waks, Mutant Breakz, and many more.He has played in countries such as Puerto Rico, Russia, Brazil, and Japan. His first release on Beatport a collaboration with Agent K (Digital Records) hit #17 in the charts in just one week. In addition to spinning on his head and on the decks , Bebe has become a super promoter producing several of his own independent brand of events all over the World. His popular events series Breaks Yo! happen monthly in Miami. In 2016 Bebe launches forward with his production releasing on his own Breaks Yo! label. If you have not seen Bebe Live prepare your self for serious breakdowns and high energy bass that will keep your body grooving like no other! For me, some of the most exciting and fresh sounding music has been with the breakbeat scene over the years. Playing to 40,000 people at the Exit Festival, headlining shows across Australia and New Zealand, to big festivals in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada. So many great artists have been a part of the Breaks scene - Freq Nasty, Plump DJ's, Stanton Warriors, Adam Freeland, Evil 9, DJ Icey, Deekline, Prodigy, Meat Katie, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Rennie Pilgrem, Soul Of Man, Squarepusher, Pendulum, DJ Zinc and many more are all featured in this podcast. This was a trip down memory lane and I remember watching people lose their mind to so many of these tunes over the years and it's really good to see the Breakbeat scene still flourishing once again.
Davip (Ilgiz Shamsiev) is recognized as the most successful and productive breaks/drum & bass producers from the Former Soviet Union. At his 22, Davip has 14 vinyl releases on the best electronic music labels behind his back, as well as over 30 digital labels and CD compilations. 2010 was a real breakthrough year for Ilgiz, when his twelve inch, Ignition/Level Up came out on the cult Hardcore Beats UK label (with Ignition remix by a dubstep act Bare Noize on the filpside). The same year tracks called Vamonos/High Technology (featuring Encode) saw the light through the famous drum & bass imprint Breed 12 Inches (sublabel of Lifted Music). Both records took Beatport, Chemical Records, Juno and many other charts by storm. In 2011 Hardcore Beats released a new Davip masterpiece entitled Brick EP, which repeated the Ignition/Level Up success. Twenty-three year old music producer, Ryan Meblin, has been tearing down the walls surrounding conventional bass music since early 2008, when he and a former bandmate formed the internationally recognized dubstep duo known as NTRLD. From 2008-2010, the two continued to produce chart-topping singles and official remixes for major label artists including Far East Movement (Interscope), Dev (Universal), and Major Lazer (Downtown/Mad Decent). Following the split of NTRLD, Meblin adopted a new moniker, Carrier, and began to reinvent himself as an eclectic producer with a long career ahead of him. With his first official remix of Dev's hit single "Bass Down Low" hitting the blogosphere at an unexpected 100BPM, fans of Carrier's early work knew immediately that his sound was evolving. Later that month, he released his official drumstep remix of Vaski's "Spaceman" alongside Dillon Francis and Total Recall on Play Me Too Records. Within a week, Carrier's drumstep remix rose to #12 on Beatport's drum and bass chart. Less than one year later, Carrier now has a handful of releases under his belt, and two forthcoming EPs coming out in late 2011. He has consistently given away material to his fans for free via the internet, and never intends to stop rewarding them for their incredible support. In less than four years of DJing professionally, Carrier has been blessed enough to share the stage with some of bass music's biggest legends, including Noisia, Andy C, Goldie, Subfocus, N-Type, Bassnectar, Freq Nasty, Nadastrom, Antiserum, SPL, Ill Gates, Borgore, 12th Planet, Sluggo, J. Rabbit, 6Blocc, and Reid Speed. Carrier's performances have been known to hit dancefloors hard when they least expect it, seamlessly segueing through different genres and BPMs. His influences span from the broken beats and thick basslines of drum and bass and dubstep, to the dancefloor-smashing rhythms and synth lines of moombahton and tropical bass, all finely blended together with a dash of electro flavor to spice things up a bit. TRACKLISTING1. Carrier - Violence (Intro Edit) / Dub 2. Carrier - Breathplay (Original Mix) / Brapdem! Recordings 3. Carrier - Cadmium (Original Mix) / Dub 4. За время этой резиденции Макс выступал наряду с такими артистами как Jeff Mills, Booka Shade, Vitalic, Hot Chip, Dave Clarke, Justice, Digitalism, Derrick May, Slam, Alter Ego, Umek, Alex Under, M.A.N.D.Y., Stanton Warriors, Paul Woolford, Justin Robertson, Speedy J, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Marco Bailey, Andrew Weatherall, Ben Sims, Adam Freeland, Plump DJs, Technasia, Freq Nasty, Phil Kieran, Rolando, Fergie, Hybrid, Green Velvet, Luke Slater, Brodinski и т.д. и т.д. и т.п.! В 2007 году Макс стал резидентом в The Key в Лондоне, в Stealth в Ноттингеме и в The Cross в Лондоне.

Summer is in full swing in places with real seasons, but here in San Francisco if we want it hot we have to take matters into our own hands. Enter Jocelyn, who turns up the heat this month with a sexy session of electro-house naughtiness. A veteran of the Bay Area underground, Jocelyn was a primary organizer and DJ for the only series of events that I've ever known to spawn an actual, official religious organization (the legendary Fusion campout events). Currently she (along with Adam Ohana) runs San Francisco's Get Freaky events at 1015 Folsom, a consistently bangin' monthly party that has hosted Adam Freeland, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors, Freq Nasty, and Tipper, to name a few. Get Freaky will be celebrating their third anniversary in September (congratulations!), so make sure your calendar is clear for September 8 (and you might want to go ahead and keep the ninth clear for recovery). memekast mk007 » July 2006 » Jocelyn 1. oliver giacomotto and damon lee - play 2. jennifer cardini remix - very secret 3. in flagranti - convolutions 4. 50 cent remixed by david starfire - candy shop 5. diplo featuring mia - china girl 6. parker frisby - krank feirn 7. mr. timothy t-funk feat. inaya day - glamorous life remix 8. cirez d - rematch 9. richard bartz - 089 10. unknown 11. shapemod S036 feat snax jamie lidell - loves too much remix 12. blaque - 808 upcoming events 07.21 - Priceless - a collaborative campout presented by False Profit and Downlow. 07.22 - Kinky Salon 08.04 - Electro event by Desiree - More info will be posted at
For our fifth episode, San Francisco basspimp Kraddy steps up with 30 minutes of that glitchy, electro dancehall hip-hop kind of shit that no one has a name for. We eat that shit up. We think it's representative of an emergent musical (and we're gonna go ahead and say cultural) paradigm powered by the disassembly of genre boundaries and skillful application of technology. And we love how it just make a booty shake. Kraddy has been involved in music production since interning at a San Francisco recording studio in 1996, and has produced for a variety of projects, including bay area hip-hop innovators Paris and Mystik Journeymen, dance companies Capacitor and the Printz Dance Project, and various films and commercials. His original tracks and remixes have been shaking dancefloors in the US and abroad, with support from the likes of Dave Tipper, Freq Nasty, and Bassnectar. In addition to several 12" releases on Texas' Bless Records and SF Breaks mainstay Muti Music, Kraddy has a full-length CD, Truth Has No Path, available on his own Refiner Records imprint. mk005 » may 2006 » kraddy 1.
