Illeven:Eleven Recordings, now in its 11th year of operations, built a reputation for releasing quality collaborations from a diverse roster of artists (Audiostalkers, Deekline & Ed Solo, Fixx, Infiniti, Bass Kleph, Gigi Barocco, Rico Tubbs, Sporty-O, Sue Cho and Whiskey Pete have all released on the label) making it a Beatport mainstay in the process. Under the informal moniker of KMFX alongside Fixx he's gone on to release internationally on labels like Deekline's Rat Records, as well as Punks, the venerable UK imprint formed by breakbeat stalwarts Stanton Warriors. Coming from two separate places on the music spectrum, they have channeled their own influences to create a vibrant duo based on high energy performances and party banging production. JS was shot into the scene as one half of the successful Pearly Whites, playing all over Perth and part of the festival circuit, he helped innovate the party mashing and mixing as we know it today. Supporting all genres from Dubstep to Baltimore, Electro to Breaks and everything in between. He later ventured out solo and began to create a name for himself, earning residencies at Perth's top clubs and banging out tunes on a weekly basis. A recent dedication to production has seen this kid develop the skills that will soon make him a weapon on the music market. Always involving himself in music, Bezwun began to gain interest in djing and production. Releasing his first tracks on Miles Dyson's label in 2010 as his duo Beatsmack, he has not looked back since. Not limiting himself to just heavy, he pushed his solo brand creating a fusion of ghettofunk and electro and has contributed a handful of bootlegs and originals to the community. Residing at Ambar night club as part of the Boomtick DJ roster, he is always bringing a turntablist vibe to his performances, from scratching to cutting, he is always getting the party started. The combination of these two has formed a brand that embraces booty breaks and jacking party vibes. Influences including Stanton Warriors, Deekline and Keith Mackenzie, these boys a creating a sound that's unrivaled in Perth. Tight drums, big 808 bass hits and catchy vocals are the recipe that these guys are cooking with, and the result, a large three course dose of booty shaking tracks that hit the crowd for six. With a growing collection of bootlegs and originals, these boys are ones to watch out for. As each track is created, the FTW sound is slowly being cemented into a unique, irresistible strength that becomes nearly impossible not to move to. With high energy performances, these guys have earned support slots for internationals, pre-heating the decks to fuel huge nights and create memories that are shared with Perth's dance community. After taking the name DJ Hero in 1996, Hero began his career as a DJ, playing everything from house, to breaks, to trance, and just about everything in between. After a few years of figuring out what was his sound, DJ Hero focused on breaks. After playing up and down the east coast, holding residencies in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and playing countless gigs around the greater south east, Hero decided it was time to change his focus to producing his own music. In 2000, DJ Hero started Solitude Studios, locked himself behind closed doors, studied, read, and practiced, producing whatever came to his mind. After several years of teaching himself the ins and outs of engineering, Hero hooked up with Huda Hudia, founder of Kaleidoscope Music, where he engineered and produced many releases to come from Kaleidoscope Music. In 2008, DJ Hero moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Denver, Colorado where he hooked up with DJ Vanish, and began Velcro City Records, and expanded the services of Solitude Studios to artist development, audio engineering, sound design, and mixing and mastering. Together, Hero and Vanish, work hard to provide quality dance music to the scene they love so much. In 2010, DJ Hero was given tier one artist status on www.beatport.com, the largest distributor of digital dance music in the world, placing him in the top 20% of artist globally. 2011 proved to be a good year as DJ Hero left Velcro City Records to team up with Illeven Eleven. This week in The Armory we are absolutely thrilled to be featuring two of America's finest purveyors of the broken beat, Chicago's Keith MacKenzie and Orlando's DJ Fixx. It's about to get filthy up in here! Press play. Get down. Illeven:Eleven Recordings' label boss Keith MacKenzie's contributions to the breakbeat scene cannot be overstated. After honing his skills as a DJ in the 90's Florida scene alongside luminaries like DJ Icey, DJ Fixx and Infiniti, Keith's move into the label game sought to combine his various influences under one roof. Although the primary focus has been bass-driven breaks music, the label built a reputation for releasing quality collaborations from artists working across electronic genres, quickly making it a Beatport favorite. Besides his own productions with DJ Fixx (as KMFX), the ever-growing list of releases have included music from producers like Calvertron, Deekline & Ed Solo, Hatiras, Bass Kleph and Gigi Barocco, as well as frequent vocal contributions by the likes of Sporty-O, Sue Cho and Whiskey Pete.  In addition to gigging extensively in North America, the last few years have seen Keith's profile boosted to international breakbeat fame. Over the last year alone, Keith has smashed dancefloors in Spain, Russia, Rome, and London, constantly pushing his potent formula of party-rocking breaks to new heights. Over the past 15 years, breakbeat pioneer DJ Fixx has been stocking the shelves of record stores everywhere. Said by many as one of the most innovative and consistent producers in the industry, he continues to deliver some of the most sought after breakbeat tracks available. Making his debut in 1998, Fixx produced over 75 anthems on the classic Kaleidoscope Music label. Many of these timeless tracks are still played frequently today. This was then followed by Fixx's own personal imprint, Bottom-End Records (2004-2008). Managed by Afterdark, the BER trademark produced some of the biggest anthems in the industry, easily claiming the spot of one of the top five best-selling domestic labels in the country. Alongside of Keith MacKenzie, Fixx is currently a leading producer for Keith's illeven:eleven label. Frequent solo installments can be found on ILL, as well as collaborations with Keith under the production duo 'KMFX'. With over 150 12-inch releases, over 200 exclusive digital releases, and eight massively-distributed CDs under his belt, Fixx has assembled one impressive Discography.
